They are great

A nice enough place. Needs a larger sci-fi catalog . One or two homeless got a scent that makes you choke. But the library and the librarians themselves provided everything you need in a library.

The staff is amazing they help you when needed and they don't bother to ask people for help amazing!!!

Older Female Staff is too loud while flirting and having a discussion that had nothing to do with the library services. As we browsed the very small selection of items they have...we can hear her loudly conversating about after hours recreation. As soon as you approach the front desk area for assistance...the same older woman doesn't acknowledge anyone who stands in line waiting to be greeted by her for a library related service. The younger female staff notices us waiting and offered to help. Soon after the older female staff is back cackling in loud conversation with a man who's not requiring any assistance.

Okay also I've been around here for about 5 years I seen this place involved while it looks unappealing outside they have upgraded they have scanners photo copiers but still print in black and white though I I do enjoy the fact that you can scan it makes it makes handling business easier most of the staff are helpful and friendly others not so helpful and sarcastic but I give them a 3 out of 5 also they have little meetings for parents people who don't speak English people who are not computer savvy

Very nice library with a friendly staff. Their local historical records, blu-ray collection, and foreign language options are extensive.

This library stays under 50° 24/7. Always cold in there.

Good for research and development. Very Helpful to people

Kathryn Blevins

Nice selection of books and the staff was all very friendly. They also have a good number of toys in the children's section. However, the whole library smelled a bit like body odor. Not sure if it was because we were visiting in August, or because they need to clean their carpets.

Free 5 print out, free 1 hour free use the PC, free Wi-Fi all the time ( working hours), free request the book, free borrow it. It's GREAT when you're a member of the library :)

I witnessed theft for the first time at this library. The location is in a bad spot with bad people. I’m 11. I was putting the books I had checked out in my bag. Next thing I know, an Asian lady is shouting “He took my bag!” As she chased a man with a purse in his hand out the door into a parking garage. Security didn’t seem to do anything (I’m not very sure) because the lady was still chasing the man. The librarians didn’t seem frightened, like things like this happen often. All they said was “Where’s security?” Then, as my grandmother, cousin and I walked out the library, a librarian who was also leaving said “Yesterday a man stole a lady’s phone.” I am forever shook and traumatized. The man ran right past me, so close he would have tripped if I stuck my foot out. It’s very scary and sad for an eleven year old to know this is what’s happening, in what I thought was a crime free town.

(Translated by Google) I have been visiting this bookstore for 17 years and I have four children over the age of studying, using computers, listening to stories and I really don't like it. I love this center because they are very kind and attentive people of many years since one know and give confidence, thanks for your beautiful patience and desire to help us so kind always I gave them 100 qualification

the new location is very small, plus I'm very upset I requested a book and they never let me know when to pick it up. Had me waiting too long for nothing.

I went to this library regularly back in the 1960s while going to Northwestern Senior High School, just down the road. The library was then new and modern and I loved getting books from here and spending idle hours, even in the early evening. I could walk each way from my house in Riverdale, usually on the lovely back streets of University Park. The Hyattsville Library may be considered a "branch" nowadays, but back then it was huge and very well supplied with every book, newspapers and magazines available. Their reference collection was particularly good. I imagine when the renovations at the old library are finished that the "branch" will be moving back to its Adelphi Road location.

Good neighborhood library. Could be more current on nonfiction titles, and librarians aren't always able to help, but they do keep a display of interesting books out and update them frequently. Has self checkout. Dedicated parking.

I absolutely love this place! A great balance of technology and books. Their selection is awesome and whoever chooses what books to accept on the shelves is a library scholar!(I’m totally sure that word exists). Fun is the word I’d use for this location.

Don't try and use their fax machine...it doesn't work and the staff wasn't empathetic of my situation. They just directed me to somewhere else to go to spend my money on a fax machine. To me the right thing for them to do would have been to offer to fax it for me on their personal fax machine. I will not be going back and I'm seeing now why libraries are becoming less and less frequented

Tiekii Boo

The stuff are very nice and well in to help.
