Avoid this place at all costs for your critical (or any) packages. They act inconvenienced to give a receipt for labeled packages that are dropped off, which means there is no record they rec'd the package. Most recently my husband called and spoke with the store manager to verify the critical next-day air package we dropped off actually went out. The manager assured him, yes, the package had left -- and our UPS account showed it was scanned, but, in fact, the package was still sitting in the store. The health clinic waiting for their expensive patient equipment did not receive the package on time. Complete negligence after we had specifically called to make sure there were no problems. We had to go back to the store the following day, retrieve the package and drive it to the UPS terminal. My husband called to complain, spoke with yet another employee and asked for a call and apology from the owner. A week+ later, still no call from ANYONE. We are DONE with this place. If I could give a ZERO, I would. We have had similar problems in the past and will continue to drive 45 minutes out of the way to go directly to UPS.

The people at Pak Mail are the ONLY ones I will have ship my items from now on. I get compliments all the time on the careful packing and timely arrival of items to my customers. Beware of this place! They over charge on FEDEX shipments. I sent a .5 lb envelope and they put in 10 lbs weight. So they charged me $111. I called them and the guy blamed fedex for the crazy rate. Rude customer service.

The worst customer experience I’ve ever had!!!! My mother lived outside of Denver, CO and passed away this summer. I paid them over $1,200 to pack and ship 5 boxes with items from my mother’s estate. One of the items was a rare print of Winston Churchill that I insured for $2,000. I picked up the print from a Fedex Store near my house in Arlington, VA on 8.11.17. The frame was destroyed. I called Pak mail on 8.12.17 and they said they would file the claim with Fedex. They asked me for pictures of the damage and a certified estimate to get it fixed. I sent them 7 pictures and the estimate of $1,359.9 the same day. On 8.23.17 Pak mail sent me a message saying they should have a resolution in the next 5-7 days. On 9.5.17 I sent them a message asking for the status. On 9,12.17 Pak mail said FedEx reopened the claim and they then asked if I still had the damaged box. I didn’t have the box. They should have told me this back on 8.12.17 and not a month later. I’ve called them several times asking to get paid. They said they are waiting on Fedex. I asked them to pay me themselves and for them to deal with Fedex since they took money from me to mail and insure the print in the first place. I called back again on 11.9.17 and they hung up the phone on me when I got upset about them continuing to say they are waiting for Fedex. This has been a nightmare experience. I’ve contacted FEDEX and am considering legal action.

Let me tell you about the OUTSTANDING experience I had with Walt Poole at PAKMAIL. I had come to the area to help clean out my mother's home after her passing. And of course was immediately stuck with trying to figure out out to get all this "stuff" back to the West Coast. Some items needed to be crated, others required careful packing due to their fragility and then shipped. So i "googled" around and found PAKMAIL. I spoke w Walt on the phone several times to make arrangements for the packing. Walt was more than happy to help me and quote various prices and options to get these sentimental family items back to my home. I under estimated how long it would take for me to go through my mother's things and I was running very tight on time to get items to PAKMAIL and make my flight home. Without hesitation, Walt gave me his private cell phone number AND offered to meet me at his store, after he closed Saturday afternoon , to help me unload the rental car!! I told Walt, that I was in no hurry to get these packages, and to take his time. And yet, within 2 weeks, I have a crate at my front door with all my family memories. I can't tell you how happy I was to unpack all the boxes and NOT ONE THING was broken or missing. What a 100% POSITIVE experience. THANK YOU Walt POOLE and all the PAKMAIL staff at the Pasedena, MD location !

I called to ask a simple question and was unable to understand anything the person who picked up said. I decided to give them a second chance because they are so close. When I arrived at the store the clerk was rude, aloof, and unhelpful. The store is dirty and gives off an overall depressing aura. In the future I will simply drive farther.

It has taken about 6 days to get a hold of a package that should have been delivered Christmas Eve. I have been into the store every day for the last three days and everyday the same very unpleasant employee tells me that they still haven’t gotten their truck and my package is still no where to be found. The older lady behind the desk was very short and unhelpful and continually told me that “they just don’t have it” and to come back the next day. When I called this morning to once again check on my package, I was asked by someone who identified themselves as the owner for a tracking number. As I was attempting to locate said tracking number I was telling him about my experience so far with this company. I was clearly angry, and his reaction was to talk over me and again start telling me that “they aren’t ups” and he “doesn’t know.” And started telling me to just call UPS instead, literally as I was giving him my tracking number. I continued to try to give my tracking number and was HUNG UP ON!!! Some people just don’t understand how to do business.

PakMail off Lapalco and Behrman COMPLETELY screwed me over so I am making it my personal mission to inform everyone I know to never use them! Created a FedEx label on Monday evening from home using my credit card, printed the label at home. The URGENT package needed to ship out Tuesday morning via FedEx 2Day Early AM to arrive to a recipient on Fort Bragg on Thursday morning. I paid $58 for this. Dropped the package off to PakMail as this as the closest FedEx pickup to my house, and have my drop off receipt. PakMail never gave the package to FedEx on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning I call PakMail and they said there's nothing they will do since they aren't making any money off of the package. Why be in the shipping business if you have complete disregard for urgency and deadlines!? Don't get me started on their customer service.

I don't know how much he benefits from me dropping off my packages-probably more of a hassle than anything- yet the owner has always been so kind and always has a smile on his face. It's raining cats and dogs right now and after dropping off 2 wet packages he tells me "thank you" and to "be careful." Yay for decent people. They still exist and should be acknowledged as such.

She goes out of her way to not only remember me, but to remember exactly where I regularly send my packages to, and how I like them organized. I am deployed overseas, Chris told me he was going to box up my Snap-on Toolbox and ship it to my home address, my wife received it unboxed all scratched up and beat up with the shipping info zip tied to the handle, he told me it was like that and the pics I had were not of the same tool box, But they were of the exact same tool box! it had the same lot and id number stickers in the exact same hand writing and position but it was in like new condition, then Chris told me that he was trying to save me some money, I had another exact same toolbox shipped to me for over $40 less boxed up professionally by another mail company, its a $1000 new, not worried about a few bucks, I would have been ok with the $40 overcharge if he would have done what he said he was going to do in the first place. How can you in good faith just zip tie the shipping info to the handle and up charge $40 over the going rate? You made a fast buck off a solider, but you lost something more valuable in yourself.

UPS says this place is a UPS return location and so does the sign in their window but it is NOT true. I have a UPS return from Amazon and they could not help me, the man working told me I would have to drive to Allentown or NJ. False advertising!! I researched it before going there, basically a wasted trip and I accomplished nothing. However I also noticed a huge pile of other peoples packages Fed Ex, UPS all labeled and tossed in a pile on the floor like it was trash. No not stacked or organized just tossed on the floor where customers stand and wait. Ridiculous.

I just mailed a large flat rate post office box from this location at a cost of $28.10. When I questioned the price I was told "Yeah the cost just went up." The cost to ship from the post office is $18.90 so they tacked on almost $10 in fees, however the person that waited on me did not mention any fees. Considering all they did was put a label on the box those fees are ridiculous. Unless you absolutely had no other options, I would not use this place.

This place charges twice what the US post office charges for a package. Two separate occasions I have tried them and both times a few cents of twice as much for the same package. Nice store, but you are paying twice as much. My advice, go a few extra miles north to the Arcola Post office and save yourself some money. The gouging was so bad I thought I was being robbed. Directions are north on Scott Road, left on Bass Road, right on Eme Road, then right at the four way stop. The post office is shortly on your left. I won't support gouging.

Following the death of a family member, I was trying to coordinate (from out of state) the shipment of a sentimental piece of furniture within a tight timeframe. After a series of frustrating false starts and dead ends with other moving/shipping options, I learned that a pack and ship service was the appropriate solution. I originally contacted Pak Mail Cascade and was directed to Calvin at the Northland Dr. location for assistance with freight shipment. I had previously thought that Pak Mail only handled mail and smaller scale type shipments…I had no idea that they offered freight service as well. Calvin answered my call with a sincere “How can I help?” and was very responsive to the timing and logistical challenges as well as sensitive to the backstory of the situation. He confirmed that pick up of the item could be scheduled the next day and clearly explained how the freight bid process worked. There was significant coordination and communication needed to facilitate the pick up of the piece and Calvin kept me informed throughout the process. It was a huge relief to have a trustworthy and capable advocate “on the ground” to handle all of the logistical details. The piece was packed/crated with great care and was well protected for shipment. Calvin provided outstanding service, both professionally and humanly. Pak Mail provided the services, the timing and the problem solving that accomplished exactly what I needed, but was unable to coordinate on my own from out of state. I appreciated the intentional follow up after the shipment as well. I was very impressed by the commitment to such comprehensive service. Highly recommended.

I want to start by pointing something out. The 1st 3 reviews are done by the same family, look at the last name. The 6th review names the owner which is the same as the person in the 1st review. So I think its safe to say the first 3 review are pointless being that it is from the owners. Now on to my situation I am in the military currently stationed overseas. My father who is sick dropped off my row machine to be shipped to me they charged me over $250 to take the machine plus the shipping. I can deal with the price, however when I got the machine and opened the packaging the bolts and screws were literally just falling out of the package. There are at least 100 nuts, bolts, and washers that I have to figure out where the belong. I consider myself mechanically inclined however this is a nightmare. I filed a claim with paypal (glad I paid with them) now its on to the Better Business Bureau. I HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS

The two individuals working at that time seemed to not really want to be there and were not friendly. The male of the two was on a call with a customer and was also waiting on a customer. He became apparently annoyed with the individual on the phone and said he had to go as he had customers that he was helping. After he hung up, he said "some people just don't have common sense." Very simply, this business is going to fail and I suggest anyone looking for a notary visit their bank. 1. They don't understand, or are ignorant on the value of repeated customers vs the cost of gaining new customers. 2. They have given up on learning and adapting as the world continues to change. 3. They don't care. Today, I went into this store to have someone verify my documents for my Employment Eligibility (I9) government document. My new employer is on the east coast and I work remotely, so they needed an authorized representative to verify my passport/identification. Apparently, something I can google in 2 minutes is too much trouble for them. They refused to listen to me while I was calm and respectful. I was hoping this was only an isolated response from 1 employee, but the person who seemed like the manage/owner gave the same go-away response. I found myself slowly walking out the door, calmly, respectfully. It was weird. I'm sure they are fine completing mundane tasks, like scanning packages and showing UPS where to get the packages to deliver. They won't respond to this because the truly don't care.

My experience with this store was so amazing! I had to figure out how to get a large desk home with me following my holiday trip home. I got the flu & was bedridden, leaving my parents stressed over how the sentimental desk my gramps handmade for me would ever get into my home. The only thing I could do was go online & look for someone who could ship it to my local Pak Mail. I felt good enough to fly home when my trip ended, but never got to the desk. I had no idea Walt would give me the best customer service of my life, & take care of the situation for me as if he were a brother. Walt called me soon after & we discussed my unusual predicament (ship a delicate & large desk out of state without any help from my elderly parents. I didn't think this possible, and if it were, it'd be out of my price range. I tried describing the desk and its delicate situation, but wasn't very helpful. Walt told me not to worry - he'd drive to my parents to get the desk to his store for measurements (get good measurements & the best esimate that way) I was skeptical - my parents live in the BOONIES & the desk was in a barn. With the desk in his shop, I'd be at his mercy. Walt assured me that if I didn't like the estimate he'd return the desk to my folks without any charge. Sounds too good to be true, but both my mom & Walt texted me minutes later with confirmation of his pickup. In the end, Walt had the desk delicately packed & shipped to me for half what I expected. Walt took my awful mess of a predicament into his own hands and literally did what I imagine older brothers should do when in need. Walt communicated with my parents to coordinate a pick up time at their residence, and took a truck up their God-awful driveway to remove the desk from their back barn. Walt didn't let my parents do anything but watch as he removed the requested item, and then prepared an estimate based on precise measurements from his business. If I hadn't accepted the estimate, Walt would've been completely out all his time, sweat, and gas on this transaction! Walt confirmed my shipping information and personally emailed the trucking info to me for ease of mind. Within a week I had the desk gramps made for me in my west coast home. I'm stunned thinking of everything Walt did for me. Instead of exploiting my situation for pecuniary gain, Walt empathized and showed unexpected compassion to me. He made sure I was totally sure of every aspect along the way, too, and called, texted, and emailed along the way. No words can convey everything Walt did for me in this one transaction. If you have any shipping needs and are considering Walt's Pak Mail - I beg you to seriously consider sealing the deal and using his services. My item was not a typical package and there was nothing routine with getting it shipped - but Walt held my hand and walked me through the entire process. Rest assured - a person willing to do this for a stranger he's never so much as glanced at will certainly do the same for you.

Though i asked them to send it through UPS and they delivered through USPS, though I give them the benefit of the doubt because finding the address and zip code was extremely difficult (it was international). I’m confused as to why they did this but the cost was extremely low and they were nice since they knew I was extremely nervous. USPS ended up losing my package which will always be heartbreaking to me but when I came back wanting to know information, they couldn’t do anything but explain different ways to see if I could find it and give me the information to further try to find it. I use this place all the time. The owner is there at pretty much all hours - he is very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I actually drive past the post office in my town to use Pak Mail instead. They handle a lot of high-end shipping (paintings, antiques, etc) as well as normal day-to-day stuff. Every service you’d need is there - Fedex, UPS, USPS, DHL, and probably a few more that I’ve never heard of. Sometimes people complain about pricing, but that really doesn’t make any sense because pricing is based on the service provider and various other factors. This is a small business that does a great job and I will continue to tell people to use it.

I love the convenience of the brand new locker system for retrieving packages. I pay a set price for 6 months and when I receive a package I get my very own scannable code image sent to me via text which I just place up to the camera on the lockers and my locker opens. I can come after business hours when they are closed and this is amazingly convenient for me as I work odd hours. I have had packages lost at another mail store in town and with this system there is no way they will get mixed up or lost. Great customer service as I am always greeted when I come in! I highly recommend since it has made my life so much less stressful and totally convenient. There is no other mail store in town that you can get packages after business hours except this store.

I had a terrible customer service experience today at the PakMail location in Grove City, Ohio. I had a package that I dropped off with a prepaid label. When I dropped it off yesterday, I observed the worker putting it in a sleeve and I left with my receipt and tracking number. Today, that package showed back up and was delivered to my home as the original label on the package was used for delivery. Somehow the sleeve was never actually stuck onto the package as evidenced by the box having no tears at all on it and being in great condition. I returned to the PakMail today to explain the situation. The manager and owner looked up the tracking number and showed me that it indicated it was picked up by FedEx yesterday, so it "wasn't their problem" and I would have to deal with FedEx directly. I then explained that I shouldn't have to waste my time to deal with FedEx on this issue since the problem started at their location. Instead of going above and beyond or even apologizing, the owner proceeded to yell and point at me that it wasn't his problem. I asked him to not get crappy with me, and he told me he was getting crappy with me because I got crappy with him first! Needless to say, I walked out before I said anything I would have later regretted. I'm appalled at the horrible service and demeanor of the owner. My advice - use one of the numerous other shipping locations across the city instead of this pathetic place, unless you enjoy being yelled at.

Pack Mail 493 does a great job shipping heavy fragile items. Shippers have a tendency to throw these items and in my experience the items come in pieces. Pak Mail 493 understands this and double boxes these items with tightly packed sheet foam. Every item they have shipped to me has come in perfect condition.

The staff seemed well-meaning, but the service was pretty poor. No other customers in the store, and it took 15 minutes to send a 4 page fax. Didn't find out what the fax would cost til it was sent - my mistake - $2 for the first page, and $1 for each page thereafter. $5 for a 4 page fax! Well, if that's the price, that's the price. But they charged me 20% extra by mistake, and then spent five minutes to refund me a dollar. Presumably they do better with larger business, but if you need to send a fax, I'd go somewhere else.

Sent a letter Fed Ex that needed to be in CA before 12/5. The gentleman working said via Fed Ex it would be there in days (not the 7- 10 days it would take any other way). I paid $20.10 to send it based on the guys assurances and it didn't get to CA until 12/4. One more day and it would have been late and cost me THOUSANDS in dollars. Employees will promise or say anything to get you to pay more instead of just doing what you asked for in the first place. I will not do business there again and will advise my company to reevaluate their business with them as well, to make sure they are not being taken advantage of.

Avoid this place! If I could leave no stars I would. I took a package to the store on Saturday, June 30 at 10:40 AM. The label was marked Overnight First Delivery. I mentioned to the man that it contained settlement papers and had to be there by noon on Monday. He said "No problem. It will be there." Got a call from the lawyer's office at 3 PM on Monday that the package had not arrived. I called the store and the female who answered the phone said the package was still there and maybe FedEx didn't stop on Saturday. I called FedEx and they NEVER pick up from that location on Saturdays. I assume I was dealing with the owner because he said he would not be open on Saturdays in July and August so he certainly should have known that the package would not be picked up.

The Pak Mail on Union in Memphis used to be a decent place to ship packages. However, they are unfortunately now under new management. I've never had any problems with them until they got new management. I usually go here to return books back to book renting businesses and they used to put the tape on your box as long as you had everything prepared. Sadly, I came in there, with everything already prepared, expecting the employee to put tape on my package. I was shocked when the man (I assume the manager) had a rude attitude and hectically rushed me to put tape on the box myself (as if I was his employee or something). The man seemed to be so upset that he took my books out of the boxes and mixed them up. Because of his attitude, I now have to pay late fees to the book rental companies because of the trouble of getting the books sent back and returning them to the right company. I called him to complain but he only said that he was not held responsible. I wouldn't recommend anyone come to the Pak Mail on Union if you don't have to. Unfortunately, the other ones are out of my way and I just have my packages already fully prepared to be shipped so that I don't have to go through this hassle anymore. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PAK MAIL PLEASE!

This particular Pak Mail is by far the best source in the area for shipping & packing materials (the Pak Mail towards Durham pales by comparison -- and other shipping supplies stores are small & expensive by comparison). They know what they are doing, and their prices are excellent. The staff has been the same for years. They won't bowl you over with kindness, they just do their jobs well. This is the spot to go in the Chapel Hill/Durham area if you are a professional running a mail-order business.

Upon delivery we found that the leg of our desk had an enormous crack which they would not take responsibility for, even though it wasn't cracked when it was left with them. Also they had opened all of our boxes which had been labeled for easy unpacking and rearranged the majority of our stuff. Finally they opened and repackaged our store ordered/packaged items. We are infuriated by this invasion of our privacy.

I highly recommend this place. Great customer service, and super friendly. I went here to have my gaming computer shipped across the country. I just received it today and it is in perfect condition. The detail and care that went into packing it is astounding. I couldn’t be more happy. Thank you for putting in the effort to be sure it would arrive intact.

Nickel and Dime you for everything!I had two prepaid packages (one UPS & one Fedex) that I was going to drop off here to save time and only go to one location. I requested a confirmation receipt for the drop offs and the clerk said it would be $3.99 per package. WHAT! He is already getting paid by both UPS & Fedex for receiving my packages but now he wants to charge me $3.99 per package to show he received them. I informed him that was ridiculous as any other drop off location provides the drop off receipt free of charge. I then proceeded to the UPS depot site and found out that this particular location had received numerous complaints during the recent holiday season for ripping people off. I will never go there again. By the clerk wanting to charge for the drop off receipt, it makes you wonder what all goes on behind the doors that they can get away with since they want to charge the shipper for proof they are now in custody of your package. If I had left the packages without paying for the drop off receipt and something happened I would have had no proof that the store was the last to have custody of them.

Before coming to pakmail in Hagen shopping center, I was going to the one on sunset, but always having negative impressions after leaving. So far I haven't got that here. All I had to do was drop off a pre-paid UPS shipment. I called first to see if there was an additional charge for dropping it off (was told no) and took it in the next day. Steve was very helpful and acted like that fairly inconsequential thing was the most important thing he would be doing that day. I would go there again just to work with him.

MailPak on Beartooth Prkwy didn't reimburse me for a $60+ item I decided not to get while in the store and now they say they didn't receive the money even after I showed them a printout from my bank showing the funds were transferred to their account. They promised to clear it up by this afternoon and it's now after 5pm and nothing was done. Worst of all I was overdrawn on my account. We also asked for some work to be done. The first "attempt " was done completely wrong and several days late. The second time it was to be done by Monday and they would call. We got a badly done job on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, my item was in Iowa and I was in Georgia so the best I could do was legwork via the telephone. I used their services 5 or so years ago and the woman was very helpful. I recently moved back to this area, and decided to give them my business because of that good experience. I'm done now. After shipping out of there 3 times in the past few months and experiencing, I don't know how to put it, grumpy?, annoyed?, snippy?, customer service, they can kiss my business goodbye. I always tried to be very polite and friendly. I would describe it as it felt like they didn't like their jobs. After the first negative experience this year, I chalked it up to the lady having a bad day... We all do. But after 2 additional unpleasant attitude experiences I'm done. I love giving nice people my business and money. And if I find a business that is professional AND nice, they can count on me to spread their name around to locals. Suggestion: put a smile on your faces. Lighten things up a little. Or, find what you love to do and do that.
