You have to come in for the experience, and then come back at night for the typically high-quality live music and dancing. The saddle bar stools are very unique and fun for the first-timers to the area (albeit not very comfortable for a full evening at the bar). Its a local institution, with ornate decor and something interesting to see from every angle. Lunches here are very solid and the downstairs hosts an excellent steakhouse. The atmosphere is lively and right on the town square. a must-see when visiting Jackson for the first time, and beyond.
What a cool place! If you're in Jackson Hole do not miss the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar! They have their own beer that's not bad, and the saddle barstools are pretty unique. Our whole experience here was unique, stop in even if you don't drink, it's a really cool place!
This is the classic bar in downtown Jackson, which absolutely must be visited. There is often live country music with line dancing. The crowd is a good mix of locals and tourists, with everyone seeming to have a good time. The bar definitely isn’t the trendiest bar in the world, but that shouldn’t be what you’re looking for here. There is a small cover at the door for entrance, but the drinks are reasonably priced
This place was a blast. Country isn't my jam but the crowd is fun and friendly. Was super busy when we were there. Service was decent, not exceptional, but decent. Bar food was really good. They obviously keep their fryer oil fresh. Lots of pool tables and fun decor. All in all a great place.
Just another tourist trap. There are better places in town with better offerings.
Had a good time. Thanks. Mass confusion under control. Great place.
Don't leave town without having a cold one at the bar. You'll sit on a saddle! Feels like the old West in there.
Table service was confusingly explained and poorly executed. Burger was over cooked and flavorless, fries were soggy and lackluster. Expenisve for goods and services rendered. Nice aesthetics, loved the knotty pine and silver dollars in the bar.
A fun, unique atmosphere. Decent menu; not a ton of variety. Make sure you don't order a drink from the bar and take it to one of the tables; one of the waitresses politely told us we are not supposed to do that.
I love how big and roomy this place is. Its history is really cool. I would like to see what it's like on a weekend night.
Saddles for barstools. Nothin better.
Great bar. Very western feeling. Had a great bar tender named Joseph. He really made our experience!
Gorgeous scenery, peaceful atmpsphere
Fun old west style cowboy bar with live music and a casual western vibe.
Great touristy venue. Love the barstools. Good cocktails. Food... Not so much.
Pulled up a saddle to the bar! Good fun.
Great place to spend an evening. We caught the Moe Bandy concert. Which was awesome.
Waitress was nice but the buffalo burgers did not settle well with any of the 3 people in our group and we were all sick around 30 minutes later.
Food was fantastic. Had the philly cheese steak and it was great. Bar was awesome.
Fun place. Good service
Great cocktails for a fair price. Friendly and fast service. Generous bar food portions.
Looking for a good meal? Then avoid the Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse. On a not very busy night we waited for over an hour for our meal after ordering. When the meal finally came, it was near inedible due to over salting. Portions were very small. We expected much better with the astronomical prices they charge. If you want to have the "Million Dollar Cowboy" experience saddle up to the bar and have a drink or two, but skip the restaurant. Response to owner: Thank you for your response. By the time our food finally came and we realized some of it was inedible it was too late. The last thing we wanted to do was wait another hour for a replacement dish. During our one hour wait the waitress did check in with us several times to take additional drink orders (you scored on that thanks to the long wait for food!) but as I said, once the food came, the kids were tired and cranky, we were tired of watching other patrons come in after us, get served, and depart while we were left sitting at our table and all we wanted to do was get out of there. I appreciate that you took the Risotto and child's MAC and Cheese off of our bill. Unfortunately a replacement meal for the kids was impractical because of the late hour and wait time for food. The kids were hungry, and we ended up letting them eat bread because of the long wait, consequently when their meals came they were no longer hungry and three kids' meals (amounting to about $36) went to waste. It was a disappointing experience in all, and to get any kind of compensation we had to have a conversation with the manager and you made no attempt to make things right.
Ice cold beer! Awesome scenery. The taxidermy inside is very neat. Along with the knotty lumber that makes the handrails and tables. The bar stools are saddles, plenty of meat looking stuff to see in there.
Interesting place. Go there for the experience i guess but don't expect more than that
Love music, authentic feel, pool tables and great Cowboy Bar Pale Ale!
We were told this was a good place to eat and kid friendly. We couldn’t eat in the bar area because our children (all 4 of them)were under 21, so we were sent to the steakhouse downstairs. We got hamburgers and fries because that was the cheapest food on the menu at $22.00 each!! The hamburgers were so dry as well as the buns. The buns literally fell apart because they were so dry. No flavor to the food either. I regret ever stepping foot in this restaurant, I’m out $172.00 and it was the worst food ever. We’ll NEVER return here again.
Shout out to a great bartender Jake. He made the night
This is a spot. Drinks were great service was good. Didn't get to try any of the food since the grill was closed but this place I can tell be popin on the weekends.
Nice bar in the center of Jackson. Good drinks and good food. Not too expensive.
Lousy service. Ordered 2 different cocktails both of which tasted like water. Not impressed.
Perfect Dinner!! I reccomend the 8oz steak filet. My steak was the best I have ever had!! I could cut it with a butter knife! The french onion soup was spectacular. The portions are a good size and come with mashed or baked potatoes, and vegetable. You will leave full! I highly recommend getting dessert to go the chocolate torte is fantastic! My husband and I are looking forward to eating here again!
Seattle seats instead of bar stools. Live music. It's worth a visit! The food is OK.
A total blast. Great bar environment. Big sized bar with lots to see and do. Hilariously awesome saddle bar seats. Totally recommend stopping in if you're in the area.
One of a kind saloon, good live music.
I'll give it a 5 because I've been here so much. Eclectic place that attracts crowds of tourists in the summer(yeah you got to sit on the saddle bar stools at least once). Winter time is a different story as it seems like pretty much mostly locals and out of state skiers hanging around .
This is one of those must visit type places. Yes it is touristy. You have to go to say you’ve been there later in life. It’s a cool bar. One of the novelties is that the bar stools are actually saddles. You can shoot pool here. They have a dance floor. It’s located at the town square.
Great Place! Have to experience it yourself!
I went to the restaurant downstairs. So we did not get to enjoy or see the saddle seats. However, we were very impressed with most of the food. The waiter recommended, without us asking, that we have the elk, bison and beef, since we were going to get elk and all beef. Well we were very disappointed in the bison and the elk. Surprisingly they were not tender at all. We received the sides and an appetizer that was a special and they were both really good. The steak was amazing! I would recommend the beef or elk. I think we may have just got a bad bison piece and the chef may have been off on cooking the elk.
Awesome bar! When in Wyoming, do as the cowboys do. They have GREAT music and GREAT Mac ‘n’ Cheese bites. Check it out!
The food and drink was like any typical bar, but with more of a western flavor. The ambiance is what sets it apart. Old time western theme. The bar itself is an antique.
Great service. Good wings Atmosphere fun. A must see
Ate here for the first time tonight. Three of our party got burgers and I got soup and a salad. Everything was incredibly salty, especially my house salad, to the point that no one finished their meal. We did not tell the server because we didn't want to complain during the meal. Otherwise, the service was excellent- had multiple people checking on us all throughout the meal. Wish we had tried another restaurant for our one meal in town.
What a disappointment! We waited for over an hour for over priced, salty food that we couldn't eat! Service was mediocre..esp. for what you pay to eat here. Save your money..grab a drink at the bar upstairs and then have dinner somewhere else!
Sooo cool. Love the horse saddle seats at the bar. Some neat things on display and ice cold beer.
Nice bar with pool tables, seating and a dance floor. Live band on a Friday was good and many people dancing. Not as many cowboys as I was e expecting but good overall.
Go for the experience and to say you went. The food was good and the building design was unique.
Cool. Historic. Souvenirs. Problem is, it's in Jackson Hole.
Extremely fun and unique bar! Their beer is super delicious. Only reason I’m giving this place four stars is because the bartenders are extremely rude and act like you are bothering them when you ask them a question or for a menu. Don’t expect to come here for good service.
I had an unforgettable experience there During a Thanksgiving Saturday night...I had a great time.. when I left there was 2 feet of snow on my car...then when I was ready to drive....there was no road to drive down...I finally found a set of car tracks to follow that got me back in my hotel..King mountain resort
From the rustic, old time feel, to the friendly wait staff, to the mouth watering food, we enjoyed everything. Tenderloin was prepared to perfection. Mashed potatoes were delicious. Fun "mocktails" for the kids were a special treat. We left stuffed and very happy!
I saw Midland here on New Year's Eve! It's always fun to visit the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.
Interesting fun place! Bar is covered in silver dollars.
Food and drinks were ok. A little pricey and it took quite a bit for our order of wings to come. It wasn't that busy so we didn't understand the wait. The staff was very nice and did their best to accommodate us. We will go back for a second go to see what happens.
Typical bar food. Was good but nothing special. But a cool place to go if you are looking for atmosphere.
Really cool place with really good drinks, definitely a must when you're in Jackson Hole
Attractive place but overpriced and unenthusiastic service. Would not go there for a casual drink, I was not received well for being a little under dressed. Will not go there again unless I'm rich and famous.
Fun place. Stopped at the advice of a friend. Service was good. Wish we could have stayed for the music
Decent but pricey sums it up. Bit claustrophobic down in the basement. Service was slow, even with a number of empty tables. It is pricey for the quality. Steaks were prepared perfectly and tastefully spiced.
Was on my hubby's bucket list, and we weren't dissapointed. Very unique
Stop here on my way to Yellowstone, very interesting water hole where you can find a good food and cold beer
Rude staff. Don't waste your time with so many good options.
Must see place for uniqueness but pricey food
Google showed 3 $$$ for its pricing. Not horrible we thought for a steak house but once we sent the menu it needed to have 5 $$$$$ because the menu was outrageously high on price.
If you're in Jackson Hole you need to go oh, just a cool place.
Spend some time and money in this place. Great food too.
I’m from Denver and this bar gave me a chance to see real cowgirl line dance - they’re awesome!
Great staff, and friendly people, the million dollar bar is a must stop when visiting Jackson hole. We met Dale the man that killed the bear with his bare hands he works as a maintenance man in the bar. Ask to take a picture with dale and he will be more than happy to.
the placeresturant was a bit pricey for the food but the steaks were fantastic. our waiter was very nice and gave us some nice wine selections. tables were a little dirty but overall we had a great experience. we will come back next time we visit sedona. try the prickly pear margerita.
A true Jackson Hole landmark! Besides being a great bar that offers live music, the decor kept me busy, as I walked around to see all of the decor and displays. A very fun place to visit. I agree with another local guide who commented that (the folks at the door and) the bartenders are not very friendly or accommodating. That does take away one star.
The country swing dancing scene is on point at this bar, all skills levels and all forms of dancing happen here. The service is fantastic, all the workers recognize you after 1 meeting and are very courteous/helpful. The best option in town for locals and tourists alike if you want to drink, dance, or shoot some pool.
Great place! Monday night was live music. Nice walk from our hotel.
Sounded like a fun place to have a drink! The place is decorated nicely! The staff lacked hospitality...they were a bit humdrum. Yellowstone Lemonade was good but won't go back.
One of the quintessential Jackson drinking hole right in the dead center of the town. Stuffed bears and antlers adorn this non pretentious country bar, the drinks are stiff and the food is greasy just how you'd like it. Quite the huge space with a dance floor and live music, not to be missed when in Jackson.
How can any self respecting establishment which calls its a BAR not have beer on tap. What a fraud. An entirely tourist/visitor establishment in a tourist town. Not a local in sight in this place would be my guess. Try for something a bit more real like the Snake River Brewing Company. At least it's more genuine.
They didn't even need a gun for what they charge for a Miller Lite a a glass of red wine. Wife's burger was good. Don't put a Turkey Ruben on the menu if your not going to put any effort in to making it. Cheese wasn't melted. The sauerkraut was soaking through the very very slightly lightly toasted white bread. A Ruben is not served on white bread. Oh but I did get slightly warm fries. The decor was very nice and cowboyish. That was good. Maybe the steaks are worth the price but the drinks and Ruben's aren't.
Honestly was extremely disappointed. Heard so many good things about this bar.. Walked in and immediately felt uncomfortable. Very judgy atmosphere. Wanted to go have a good time, stay for live music, eventually order food but we left after one drink.. wouldn’t recommend. Can always tell when a person is talking about you or judging you and that’s the feeling we got from the bartender and waitress.
Hard to complain; service was quick, atmosphere is kitschy but in a good way, and the novelty factor of the saddles at the bar is eminently bearable.
Great food at the clubhouse with views of golf course and Tetons. Open to the public.
What a great spot right in town! The famous cowboy bar does not disappoint! Beer was cold food was hot and delicious!
Perfectly quirky western bar. Staff was friendly and welcoming, drinks were served promptly and food was filling! Unique setup with saddle barstools, literally had to straddle them to sit at the bar. Love this spot for taking photos! Also has a cute gift shop right next door, reasonable prices for everything!
Great place to visit and check the box. Elk burger and fries were pretty good.
Zero stars. This place is less civilized than a barnyard of wild animals. One of the members of our group got kicked out for no reason. The manager confronted him, and claimed, “HEY! Give that girl back her coat!” He was pointing at our friends’ coat. Our friend pleaded for 10 seconds that it was his coat and he could prove it, and then the manager just kicked him out for no reason. Our friend was stone cold sober. There was no reason for the ejection. After our friend was kicked out, another member of our group identified a woman in the bar who had been eyeing our spot, and she had been giving us the strangest stares all night. The whole situation was bizarre. We recommend not expecting anything from the management of Million Dollar Cowboy except cruel injustice, irrationally overpriced drinks, and unjustified belittlement of customers. We’ll never go back.
Fun classic Western bar for a beer
Seems popular for the aesthetic and because it’s famous, food and service both unimpressive and overpriced. Small food menu and you have to order at the grill window. I asked the waitress for water when she wasn’t busy, and she pointed me to where I can get water and then went back to talking to the other waitress. Two stars because my drink was good.
Great ambience. It is awesome to sit on a barstool that is a saddle and order a Wyoming whiskey.
I luv this place, go in sit in a saddle, have a drink, awesome!! $$$
This place is always a fun time. The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is a must see. The live music is always spot on country music and the wood floor perfectly waxed for easy spins. The only down side is the dance floor's small size.
Lively place that's worth a visit
Met woman named Kelly. Arguably the wildest person I've met at a bar. Her and her boyfriend Kevin may or may not have changed my life. Go Cowboy Bar. Go Ags.
I wanted to come in to see the place and buy a t-shirt. It was Saturday night and there was a band so there was a $5 cover charge since I wasn't staying I didn't want to pay it and only went to the gift shop. Bought a cool shirt. Never saw inside
This place is awesome!! The food was amazing especially the Bacon Fat Grits. Everything I ordered was great and the staff was super friendly. It is expensive though I would not recommend this to someone looking to save some money. The price is definitely worth it though if your willing to spend it. Best food I've had in my life!!
We sat at the bar and only ordered drinks, so I can’t speak to the food. We thought the atmosphere was great! However, the bartender was rude, and her drinks weren’t great. We ordered a different drink every time because none of them were very good. I wish we would have had time to go back and try another bartender!
Didn't know cowboy bars still existed. But they are alive and well in Jackson Hole!!
Great bar with lots of room, good drinks, live music, and pool tables. The only negative that I have about this bar is that is brings in people who obviously have NEVER been in a bar in their lives. People walk through the pool area like a thoroughfare, stand next to the pool tables when they aren't playing, and form lines at one of the three bars...impeding on other people's tables when the other bar is wide open. It is pretty amazing to me how old people suddenly become oblivious to their surroundings when they leave the nursing home. Lots of room and opportunity, but need a few staff members to monitor etiquette a bit.
You have to come to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar while you are visiting Jackson Hole, you will have a fun time. This bar has the best music venue in town for watching a live band and getting out on the dance floor. You will feel like you were transported back in time, in this historical setting with saddles for bar stools, knotty pine woodwork, light fixtures, find the great white shark. The service has improved immensely under the new GM, she is doing great work!
Historic saloon in the heart Jackson Hole WY.
Awesome historical bar downtown! Great drinks and great live music!
I used to love this bar! Last time I went, I was turned away because I had my service animal with me. It's against the law, but the owner doesn't seem to care and doesn't seem to believe anyone who says their animal is a service animal. I don't go here anymore because I'm not going to support an owner like that. Their drinks aren't good and it's hit or miss with the food. Service is just okay. The people they put on security at the front door suck at doing their job! The ambiance is what I went there for, but not any more! And this right here below is the biggest problem! Reply from the general manager clearly shows that he's not educated on the laws having to do with service animals! Buddy Howell, GM, no it is actually against the law to ask for service animal paperwork or ID. The only question you are legally allowed to ask is what service does your animal provide? That is it. I am not required to carry any proof and you can't ask to see it, got it?! Doesn't matter if you have a sign up saying no animals are allowed. Service animals are allowed everywhere. I suggest you and your employees get a lesson on the law, so you don't look like fools anymore. Use that as a training tool! And FYI... The owner, was very very rude to me on the phone when I called to talk to her about this matter. So no excuses! You just made it worse for yourself! At least now people can see that what I was saying is true! And another thing, tell your front door security not to be rude to people! Thank you!!! Response from the owner a day ago I’m sorry you were turned away and I am aware of the situation but you must show proper ID for your service animal. We have a sign posted no animals in the bar due to health department rules. Just show the proper ID for your service animal and there is no issue. I will use this situation as a training tool for the staff in the future. Thank you! -Buddy Howell, GM
Bar was really unique and should certainly be seen, but DO NOT order food from the bar area. Absolute worst so-called “turkey reuben” and “classic patty melt” we have ever had. A couple of week old sandwiches from a gas station would have been better.
Nice spot. Good music
Fantastic atmosphere. Great service. And amazing steaks cooked to perfection. By far the best dining experience in Jackson.
Good place to get your drink on
Seems like a fun place with bar food (saddles bar seats) , cocktails and pool tables. We actually walk in because we saw the steak house menu from outside of the bar, after we walked in we thought we got the wrong place but decided to sit down for a drink. Bartender are not very friendly in a way (looking at us like..You guys must walked into the wrong place..Lol ) and doesn't bother to greet or chat with you. After he takes the order, drinks came very quickly, than he fades away to the other side of the bar to chat and never came back. We had to get another bartender to close the tab for us. Cocktail was just ok.. All the reviews said this place is a tourist trap, but it seems like they only welcome locals. Anyways, we figured out the steak house is actually downstairs by wondering around and made our way downstairs (well..there's no signs...and at the entrance of the bar there's people checking ID but no one bother to tell you where the steakhouse is) Steakhouse share the same name, but it's a separate business/ownership. Will write a separate review for "Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse"
The best place to dance in the West. I'll fight you if you disagree.
It's cool it's a total tourist trap and have a sit down at the bar on one of those Saddles and then enjoy an overpriced drink but it is a lot of fun anyway
Very good food. Service could be better.
Cool bar but we were over charged by 9 dollars from on drink round to the next ! Watch yourself there !
We had to stop in to say we did it. It was a fun place.
Slowest service ever. But a hoot to go to. Check out the decor. Quite unique Fun with friends
Had an amazing bison steak! Great local place for food, drinks and dancing.
If you are in Jackson hole looking for a fun night definitely stop in here. Even if you don't like a good cold local brew, you still need to come in and hop up on one of the saddles & get a pic. Enjoy some dance lesson from some wonderful teachers. Grab some good food good friends & watch the live band for the night.
Interesting place. Good food, great atmosphere
Gimmicky, has a cover on weekdays, plenty of other amazing places in town that deserve your business than this tourist trap. No idea how this place is so popular. Total joke.
Drinks were weak not great atmosphere and get live music. We had a good time
5 stars for perseverance. My first visit here was with UNC college buddies in 1974, my last was 33 years later, in 2017 with two of those same college friends. The decor is so extensive you can't take it all in. If you're into rustic wood, you've got to see this place, not to mention the famous silver dollars, and saddle bar stools. No cover charge and a very good band the night we were there.
Loved it...Great atmosphere. The staff was great and really quick with the drink orders.Hope to come back soon.
Very dissatisfied, We went there for lunch and were not aware that our nephew could not enter there as he was on 20 years old, until the VERY RUDE hostess told us so. Not a family friendly establishment.
Very good steak. Long wait
