Update: Christopher Karr (owner? manager?) took our comments to heart, and suspended the driver who made us feel unsafe (see original review below). He invested in security cameras for the vans so that everyone can feel at ease using their shuttle service. We are very grateful for the prompt action taken by the Pickle Barrel and we believe these were appropriate and necessary next steps. He was very professional and took the time to investigate our claims rationally and responsibly. Thank you!
SHUTTLE IS UNSAFE. They advertise having a safe ride home, which is the only reason we came here, but we had a very unsafe experience. A man followed us all evening, but it was a large, packed venue and we originally didn't think much of it. The 10 of us got in a shuttle and our follower motioned or said something to the driver outside and then joined us in the front seat. He watched two vans depart moments before. It was clear he chose our van intentionally. We insisted that this made us uncomfortable and the driver said we should get out if we were "too good" to ride with other people. We didn’t want a van to ourselves, we just wanted to get home safely.
If your plan is to offer a safe ride home for your patrons, the very least the drivers can do is stop creepy guys from trying to come home with young girls uninvited. The second van drove us home safely, and we are very appreciative, but he said that driver was often erratic and aggressive. So clearly this was not a one-off incident. Girls beware.
We enjoyed our time in the venue. The bartenders were pleasant and the live music was great. If the shuttle service hadn't made us so uncomfortable, this would have been a great night.
