You will see all the reviews of real people like you who purchased the products and services of Bar-X (Night Club) in the state of Utah.
At this moment this firm receives a rating of 4.3 stars over 5 and the rating has been calculated on 573 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an reviews average is high, and it is based on a very large number of reviews, so we may conclude that the evaluation is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to give their score when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Night Club belongs to the category of Bar.
Really dim lights, place smelled like overbearing tree sap maybe they have a diffuser with essential oils. But great selection of alcohol.
I have tried many of their mixed drinks, they were all very unique and tasty. You definitely need to try this place.
Great bar... good drinks and great music
Love the drinks and music
Great casual hangout and specialty cocktails
This is a great bar it is almost always packed but the drinks are good and beer bar is connected so you have room to move.
Great Neighborhood Bar.. make sure you try the drink special!!
First time here and I have to say it was really fun. The atmosphere was really cool and there are people everywhere, but that's because they have a door way into another restaurant that is huge. It was a really good vibe and their drinks were good, average priced. I'll be going back for sure.
VERY crowded. Almost like a dive bar but much friendlier. Drinks are okay.
I wanted a place with craft cocktails while visiting SLC for work and headed to Bar X. I got the "Moving to Mexico" cocktail which was really good! Atmosphere was super chill and the music was great! I'd definitely come back and hang out with friends there!
It's a cool bar, fun and sexy moods in the interior. Fun drinks that sometimes change. It's a staple on 200 south.
Top tier bar for SLC standards.
Though it’s now been infiltrated by suburban micro-tourists and traveling businessmen, it’s reached Icon level in Salt Lake. You know there will be good drinks and good people here, and there’s often good music too. Very close to a swath of other cool downtown bars and late night restaurant. The OG bar of the 200 S bar crawl, truly. $5 glasses of wine in modern non-stem glasses is a personal favorite. Bonus points that you can walk between this high brow cocktail lounge and the trendy sports and beer bar next door. Two hats, one building!
Duncan served up some fantastic drinks, decor is upscale and relaxed, maintaining some of the original wood and blending that rustic old look with modern, well placed touches. The music was audible but not overpowering. Look forward to coming back and trying more delicious drinks!
good bar for fries or beer not necessarily night life though
Cool vibe and impressive cocktails, considering they have to deal with Utah's arcane liquor laws.
My GPS always leads me from the Peery to Bar X. Great music, artfully crafted cocktails. Dark and Intimate! Must stop and chat with the crew. Go for the Roulette. Dealers choice. You won't be disappointed! Jut666\m/
Fancy and well designed-- I'm talking about both the interior and the beverages. The beverages aren't cheap, per se, but if you're into treating yourself to a cocktail or three this is our go-to spot. Ok-- now story time, I'll try to keep it short. We went there on a Friday night and it was super busy, people were waiting several minutes for a drink, the three bartenders were doing their best to keep up (it can't be easy to be a bartender there when all of their drinks are so intense to make, so have some patience when you go there). There was (maybe there still is) an "Ask the Bartender" drink option on the bottom of the menu, and the bartender took time to ask me at least a dozen questions about what kind of drinks I like, for instance, "Do you like gin? Do you like sweet or botanical gin? Do you like ginger? Do you want to taste the gin or the ginger more? How much do you want to spend on your drink?" I was blown away that I was able to have on a busy Friday night at 10pm and the bartender seemed to actually be having fun working with me to make a $9 drink that I would really enjoy and had never tried before. Such a cool experience.
Excellent place to enjoy with friends, I recommend!!!
Knowledgeable staff, but a little too preoccupied with picking up dates. Need to stay focused guys. Good cocktails and nice hipster vibe going on.
I think I came on a shittier night of theirs. Hope so, anyway.
This place thinks it's really awesome and I'm not sure why. A lot of people in SLC also seem to think it's awesome - and I don't know why that is either. The only conclusion I can come up with is that they haven't been to actual good bars in other cities. The specialty drinks listed here are way too over the top to be enjoyable and the vibe is really uncomfortable every time I have tried to visit here. Pass.
The food was great but way to loud for my liking.
Live music. Has to adhere to slc crazy alcohol laws but overall very fun club atmosphere
Great beer selection. I had the Sour Plum and a Wasatch Hef. Split the fries and the cheeseburger brat. The fries were a little cold and not fried enough.
High prices, noisy. 3 stars is my rating and I was there drunk. It may even be worthy of a lower rating.
Great atmosphere, low price craft cocktails
Good spot to catch a game with beers and sausages.
Delicious cocktails
Does the best they can with Utah's liquor restrictions. For instance my Old Fashioned had less rye because of some bs Utah law about how much of the same liquor can go into a drink. Yes, you will wait for your drink, yes it's not the same price as that disgusting Long Island you get at the dive bars, these are craft cocktails considered an art by the bartenders.
Best cocktails! I never know what I want. I asked for something a little pretty, a lot dirty, that'll get me drunk. The bartender knew exactly what to do. She gave me a Violent... something. Amazing.
Good bar with a lively and fun atmosphere with many different beer choices.
We had a great time getting loaded and watching Ed Wood films. Julius is a great bartender! Go leave him a big tip!
Owned by the dad from modern family, reasonable prices, exciting ambiance and draws a crowd from the 21 - 40 age range
They don't have a long drink list, but do offer some interesting cocktails. The biggest turn down is that it takes forever to get a drink. There were only two bartenders, and one of them was busy with something I don't know. There were 8 people waiting in the line to get a drink at one time, and a group of 5 lost patience and left before getting anything. A few minutes later, our group (~ 8 people) also left after finishing the first drink.
Kind of a younger crowd but I'm in my sixties the bar itself was very good and they had an excellent selection of many different kinds of liquor.
Expensive but delicious cocktails. Nice staff, but m much to do other than sit and talk (at least when I was there).
This bar is incredibly dark but amazing. If you walk in while it is day time out side, you will likely be completely blind for a good minute once you walk inside. Regardless, the drinks were really great. Careful, if you bring a water cup outside and walk away with it, the bouncer may run after you, stick his fingers in your drink then throw it in the street. That actually happened to my friend which makes for a hilarious story! All in all, this place is good and worth it
Cool bar in the back area
Always a classic place to visit with a vintage feel. Great place to start off the night before Beer Bar crowds spill over later in the evening.
I love the atmosphere and the cocktails. Prepare to spend a bit extra for the quality though
Great cocktails at reasonable prices. Tried multiple drinks and loved them all. The bartenders put a lot of effort into combining the ingredients just so.
I liked it here! The bar tender took a moment to say hi, so I waited while he talked with another guest. I had him surprise me with a drink and he made up an amazing drink and put it into a WHALE MUG!
Cool vibes, smaller venue. great place to chill in a relaxed environment
Chic, hip, moody, overpriced, and usually too loud for me. Bartenders are knowledgeable and not snooty. Cocktails are inventive but, sadly, inescapably Utahn in their strength. Clientele are varied, but mostly split between angel headed hipsters and lascivious lowlifes. Cool lighting.
Love the atmosphere and the Whiskey Smash is a must! Definitely go to the back room nestled away cause there's hardly anybody there and you pretty much have space all to yourself. Plus there's a 2nd bar there!
Incredible cocktails! The dimly lit environment really sets a warm, calm mood and it's definitely a place you want to hang in for an hour or two, keep it casual, and just relax!
The bartenders here are awesome. They make great drinks and are super knowledgeable. Great selection of alcohol. I wish they had table service. This is attached to the Beer Bar which has great food.
Good selection of beers
This place is painfully hipster but the cocktails were great and the atmosphere was fun!
I love the cocktails at this well-decorated joint and the environment is lively. It was cramped and noisy when I went, though.
I went with a friend and her Co-workers. I just wanted a beer and even though I was standing at the counter right in front of the bartender, it took more than five minutes for them to talk to me. He was more interested in talking to the regulars and the other bartender. It was also insanely dark. I felt like I couldn't even see the person across from me (we opted for going outside for more light). Besides that, a typical downtown bar. Nothing special.
There are two sides here. One is for cocktails, and the other is for beer. I've been here a few times now. It's always busy, and it's always good. It's a little pricy at $10 for a drink, but it's worth it if that's what you're after
Great cocktails. The TV has classic movies playing. Great vibe.
Hard to find a place to sit, really wobbly tables that make your drinks spill, overpriced cocktails, have to order at only a few small areas of the bar and people crowd there even when they already have their drinks. On the plus side they have water jugs and cups at both ends of the bar so you don't have to wait in line at the bar to get some water. Also real flame candles on the tables. The bartenders are friendly.
My friend and I got there just before last call a few weeks back. I had a lemon drop shot. Tasted great. The staff overall is nice. My friend was a bit wasted and started asking all the staff tons of questions, Cornelius and David are really nice. It was fun talking to them.
great atmosphere and the music was great.
Was holding a man’s hand and was not let it
I like the vibe and feel of this place. There are 2 sides to the bar and so we were on the left side where it's a dimly lit speakeasy type vibe. The drinks were affordable. The bar tenders were kinda standoffish, but I'm getting that vibe all over the SLC area. The bathroom was rather interesting. The crowd on the left side is 30s, the crowd on the right side is 20s and 30s. Music was vastly different between the two sides. It was packed. The right side is more of a eatery with tables everywhere and a counter to order, and the left side was the bar and felt like a completely different establishment.
Very nice people come her.
One of the best cocktail bars I have been to. The barkeeps are true show man and artisans with a vast knowledge of even the oldest and rarest cocktails around. I asked for some gin drinks dating back to the early 20's and they did not even have to look them up. Can get really busy near the end of the night so go early! The place is very small and dark. Has a great Scotch collection too!
Try the Knick Knack if you like strong and dark cocktails. Go next door for some of the best beers in town!
I don't mind Bar-X I think personally it's overrated, BUT that being said tons of people enjoy it and come from differently places knowing about it, go check it out at least once it may or may not be for you! They aren't terribly expensive, they compare with the business next to them, and sometimes they have killer shows there as well! You never know check to see if something is going on their.
Its an ok place. Guess that for Utah standards its great
I’m a regular and I’ll tell you what love the service I get over here. Drinks are always good and the atmosphere is exactly what I like after a long day/week. Keep it up guys! P.s. U the man David!
Super fun! I just wish it was a larger place, it is always packed on weekends and it's hard to find a place to sit.
Hipster but decent, downtown favorite
Great bar, old school vibes. There is always some 80s music in the background and old black and white TV shows or movies playing. Great bartenders who are helpful and attentive.
It's a nice but pricey bar. The good thing is that it connects to beer bar if you want cheaper drinks. They seem to be going for a more "high-end vibe". The three bars in a row, barx, beer Barr, and Jonny's make a good combo.
Bar-X is known for a strong focus on meticulous bartending. The drinks are well crafted, and the price point reflects that. If you are willing to pay for a good drink to avoid drinks from the-well, this is a great place to be.
Cool Vibe, Friendly staff and good selection. Small area so if you want to sit down make sure you get there early!
Cool dark little bar. Good live music on a Sunday night.
Cool bar, limited menu
First time visit. Sat alone at the end of the bar opposite the entrance. Place was steady but not busy or slammed by any means. Waited 15 minutes. Never greeted. Bartenders walked by a couple of times, avoided eye contact, never said hi or welcome, or I'll be with you in a minute. Nothing. Got up and left. Plenty of places to get a drink. Won't be patronizing or recommending this one.
Great place good beer selection.
BarX has the nicest and most talented bartenders in Salt Lake. The drinks and delicious and the classic atmosphere is well done.
It's rumored to be owned by a certain modern TV star but who knows? Great location and vibe. Not seedy enough to warrant the X but that just fits the mystery.
Great cocktails and awesome bar tenders. We went on a Wednesday with another couple and had a great evening .
Really cool place to be with a very trendy crowd. The area inside is very small so there isn't much room to move around and its very hard to even get to the bar on a bust night. But the atmosphere is very cool. If recommend going here not on a weekend.
Great vibe!
If you love cocktails, this is a must go to spot. Thanks Phil Dunphy
Good drinks. Good atmosphere. Crowded and not anywhere to sit. Had to stand for 3 hours.
Im not a big bar or pub person, and I rarely go, let alone feel the need to go. But this place is so amazing. The decor is awesome, people are friendly, and food is really good. If you are looking for a place to go, come here. You wont be disappointed
Bar tender was a complete caprichoso. He couldnt handle his 2 dollar tip and acted like a 10 year old girl about to hit puberty. Don't ask for feedback if you can't handle it, cry baby millennial.
BarX was the first ever bar I went to in Salt Lake, and it convinced me that there was a cool enough seen that I should move here. The bartenders are knowledgeable and make amazing cocktails. The ambiance is classy without pretentiousness.
Bar X which has low lighting and music to match has one of the most relaxing atmospheres of any bar I've every been to. All of the drinks and specifically the Moscow Mule are amazing. The bartenders really know their stuff so make sure to ask them if they feel like creating something for you on the spot!
This place is so awesome I try to replicate their cocktails at home!
Best cocktails in the state, great ambiance. Joe McQueen, an Ogden Jazz legend, plays here on Sunday nights. Drinks tend to be a little on the spendy side.
Pimm's cup is delicious here!
Amazing attention to detail and knowledgeable staff. Nice low key setting but good for a fun night.
Good environment and friendly staff
All sorts of craft beers and such, something for every beer drinker!
Kind of a crowded place, but good atmosphere and nice bartenders.
Amazing drinks. Great staff. Bring a fat wallet cuz they be top shelf prices.
Such a great bar and owned by Ty Burrell! Inside is real dark but your eyes adjust pretty quickly. The bartenders know their stuff and are willing to make you somethig special if you give them a couple of hints about what you like. There’s an inside connection to Beer Bar next door so you can move freely between the two places. High recommend for drinks to begin a date!
One of my favorite places in the world.
Good mixed drinks and a really chill atmosphere.
If you are looking for Scotch, this is the place. They have, by far, Salt Lake's largest selection of single malts. I hear the mixed drinks are pretty good there as well but I have to admit, I'm not as partial to things sweetened. The staff is quite friendly and willing to make sure you are comfortable and have an enjoyable experience. If you're drink isn't right, they will do their darnedest to fix it. The go through rushes just like anyone would, but I don't have a problem being served. If you are looking to try something new, it's a great place to visit.
Awesome atmosphere, wonderful prices and a band on Sundays.
Had my first legal drink here. Great atmosphere. Delicious drinks. I'd highly recommend the Edison Street.
old guys and high school prom vibe, a lot of different beers though?
I enjoyed Bar X. Everyone at the bar was super chill and friendly which made for a great night out. I only ordered a few beers so I can't say anything on food or the cocktails. Service was fast and I didn't feel like the drinks were overpriced, so that’s always a plus. If you're looking for a cool spot to hang out or pregame for the night, Bar X is the place for you!
Yeah, great cocktails, ask for Julie
I’m stationed in SLC for two years until I deploy. The bar I attend tonight was fast passed, great music and impressive to say the least. I can understand why it’s a five star rating bar. I sat at the bar about 2 hours. The bartenders were friendly & remembered my name. This means a lot coming from my background. By the end of the night I was Brad or Sargent. The waitress bartenders I had were Brooke & Brandi and a man name I didn’t catch. They were friendly and respectful women. I don’t appreciate women who flirt to try and earn their tip. I figured they were both new. My bill was 48.90 and I had no issue leaving a 100$ tip to these ladies. I appreciate the amount of respect I was given while at your bar. I will be a returning customer. I choose to bring my military buddies with me the next time I go. I have plans to attend. I did take a an Uber to your bar and back to the station. I appreciate you training your ladies not to flirt for cash. It’s a real turn off and disrespectful to mean in general. I will be apart of your BarX as long as you will have me. You will always have an extra customer (me) as a bouncer if anyone’s gets out of hand. I’m trained in special forces and enjoyed your bar tonight. I never write reviews and I felt the need my words must be heard. See you all Friday night.
You’ll always be remembered if you’re a repeat customer, great drinks, huge variety as well, no limits on what you can order from my experience
They make some of the best cocktails on salt lake.
Excellent cocktails and great ambiance. Drinks are pricey. Bartenders are nice and accommodating.
Cool relaxed atmosphere to get with a group of friends for drinks.
Minding my own business and I get kicked out
Solid aaaaaaaaand solid! I've always been a big fan of bars that have mellow lighting and a warm colors. Couple this with some well crafted cocktails and a jazz band..... there ya go! I went on a Thursday night around 9pm and it was pretty mellow. I lean towards more earthy cocktails so I went with the green chartreuse (don't recall the name). Tasty and tasty. If for whatever reason the Bar X isn't your thing then you can slip through a walkway to the Beer Bar next door without having to wait in line / get ID'd again.
Stopped in here on Saturday night after the Jazz game to have a couple of beers with my boyfriend. One of the lovely bartenders was wearing a shirt that said 'F*** Trump'. She absolutely has the right to express her opinion, I just wish it would have been done in a more tactful way. I should not have to stare at profanity pertaining to our president while enjoying a night out. Where is the management?! Leave politics at home. I would give this place a 0 star if I could just for the amount of disrespect they obviously condone.
Great place for first dates.
Wow! This place is amazing! Super welcoming and friendly staff. Great menu and delicious drinks. Super social bar tenders and chill vibe. Great music and comfortable layout. Would definitely recommend if you're a local or just visiting for a weekend. Cheers!
Excellent service, excellent drinks. I love that they have a "Bartender's Choice" option. They make some astoundingly delicious drinks.
Cool
Best cocktails in SLC. This place is an obligatory stop for me every time I'm in town. Their craft drinks are creative, unique, and boozy. The vibe is also fun and relaxed. I look forward to going again.
Great place for a beer, food and atmosphere here feels like Denver
I love this bar! Best hot or cold drinks and really never a line.
Damn good dirty gin martini. Wish I had at least tried to get a number from cute roller derby girl
Ok drinks, nice atmosphere. We asked the bartender if one of the drinks was sweet, he said yes but all we could taste was whiskey...
Great craft cocktails. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. A classic salt lake bar.
Good selection of local , regional and internacional beers.Youre going to find the beer that you’re looking for in their beer menu for sure. However , this place is not as cool as others and their food is extremely overpriced for its poor quality. No matter of you order the Burguers or the artisan sausages , the quality is simply not there.I won’t comment on their beer and other alcoholic beverages because we all know how expensive are here in Utah compare to other closer states , but the poor quality food is why I give them 3 stars. If you want to try good local beers with great food , are better options in SLC these days.
If you are looking for low key, this is the place! Not in a bad way. It is hopping, but not crazy.
Good music and relaxed atmosphere.
Good place to get a drink. Craft cocktails that are not too expensive. And there's live music.
People come here when Beer Bar (which is superior) is crowded. Somewhat over priced, hipster. Better than other mediocre bars in the city though.
Extremely classy place. Calm and relaxing environment while attached to a more fun establishment next door. Perfect place to impress a client or a date. Bathrooms are slightly small and cozy but the rest of the place makes up for it.
Favorite bar in town
Hey that guy from Modern Family owns it, gotta be a good spot. They got all the Toki i could ever hope to drink in one night.
This place is really pretty cool. It's extremely small and extremely trendy but it's really kind of a cool little place. They have a DJ and the music is really loud but it's pretty good. They obviously have very good taste in whiskey with all of the Buffalo Trace on the walls!
I have owed 3 bars , and never heard bar tenders speak to customers like they did tonight. If you serve alcohol, you will have to deal with drunks. There is a right and wrong way to deal with the public. The bar tender did a poor job at it. First and last time in.
Good draft beers
I miss old bar-x, but ippreciate the new as well. I do like that beer bar and bar x are speperate, but open to each other.
This is my go to for cocktail bars in the city. I love the ambiance here
Open late, always cool, excellent for those traveling through, great music wonderful location. Cool bathrooms. Bulletin board is awesome. Menu looks amazing. They have games at entry.
Cool hipster vibe. Not usually my scene but I enjoyed it and the bartenders were nice. There was a local musician playing that night and his friends were super supportive in the front, and behind them were tables of social friends.
Great place with live music, especially if you avoid peak hours :)
Great bar with a nice selection of drinks & music. Fantastic bartenders.
Good cocktails, dark lit place. No complaints but not quite the best around.
I'm a trucker and I was delivering across the street so I decided to stop in and get something to eat. I got the sliders and they were amazing! Next time I'm in salt lake I'm definitely going!
Dimly-lit in the best way, take a step back in time to appreciate quality over quantity as the artist on the other side of the bar demonstrates their mastery of the craft cocktail. You'll pay a little extra for their time, but these drinks are probably better for you than milk, juice, or even a high-pH bottled spring water.
Nice cocktails, spendy tho. Small space. Gets slammed at times. Prepare to occasionally wait for a bit to get a good cocktail. One of the few spots in SLC that does stellar cocktails - Alibi, Water Witch and Purgatory are pretty good spots too.
Great cocktails and the staff is excellent. I did a 'surprise me' and the bartender made an outstanding cocktail based on my taste profile. Fun spot
Great place to grab a drink and chat with friends. Even on busy nights you don't have to yell so the other person can hear you.
Trendy spot for some amazing craft cocktails or a beer.
Trendy atmosphere with fancy cocktails, friendly and knowledgeable bartenders
Told the bartender exactly what I wanted my drink to taste like and he didn't hesitate to make the PERFECT drink for me!
They have drink roulette and you pick a liquor and they make you a random drink at a random price. I have been looking for a place like this for a while. Amazing.
