Not impress with the way this establishment is run. There are two classes of admission, preferred and general admission. And like at the airport going through TSA, preferred admission goes in first (+$5). I don’t want to catch an airplane , I just want to watch the show. The comedians are good (5 stars to them). Food price is ok, although my less than 16oz plastic cup of Coca-Cola was like $3 bucks. And with the ice in that cup , there was clearly not 16oz of Coca-Cola in that Coca-Cola.

Eric Webb

Love this place. Great comedians and an awesome bartender in the blue room

Caleb Edens

The comedy acts were great but how much you enjoy it will greatly depend on who is performing. General admission was a fun process because they have you wait in a karaoke room which is a lot of fun. Had some great singers and a few really funny performances that worked as a great way to hype up the real performance. Something important to note: when they say there is a 2 item minimum, this only counts once you enter the performance hall. Any items purchased in the waiting areas will not count toward your purchase minimum. Also watch out for age restrictions when buying tickets online. I saw them turn away people for being under 18, so it is enforced.

Tic Tac

Love coming to hyenas when I get a chance but last night was a complete waste of time. Comedians are not even funny

Louis Arredondo

The actual comedy venue is nestled behind two small bars/waiting rooms, below street level. One being a basic bar with top golf, a pool table, and a couple other arcade games. The other has a small stage for karaoke or open Mic nights. It is a great place for a date or a night out with friends. My only complaint is there was little direction from the staff as to where to go. Also, from the street, there is not much signage to locate the club due to construction. The location was once a night club called Lone Star and before that is was called City Streets. Located right beside the clothing store H&M (formerly Borders Books).

Steve Wallace

Lot of funny comedians roll through. Nice intimate club, 2 purchase minimum. Easy to park for free in the Sundance garage and it's near all the other great downtown Ft Worth nightspots.

Susy Harman

Our School of Rock Mansfield & Fort Worth students usually play their "End of Seasons Shows" at Hyena's...And let me tell you how amazing this place is! Good sound, out of this world wait staff and always a fun vibe. We love bringing our students out to this venue!

Kate Giryes

The good: The location, club atmosphere, and comedians were all good. The bad: This club literally tries to squeeze every last penny that they can out of you. Doesn't management understand that if someone has a good experience, they will come back again and again, but if they don't, they won't ever be back?! --They have a two-item minimum per person. Great, no problem, understood. HOWEVER what they fail to tell you is that they only count items purchased DURING the show, not before in the waiting area. Sleezy. The waitress came to my husband and I in the middle of the show and said that it was last call and we were required to order two more things. We said we bought two $10 glasses of wine (did I mention their prices are high?) right before the show started (which she saw when we brought them in with us) plus, we each got a cocktail during the show. She immediately raised her voice and started saying quite loudly how it's not HER fault that we didn't understand and how it's REQUIRED to buy two items a person during the show. And keep in mind this is all going on IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHOW!!! I honestly think that the waitresses are trained to raise their voices and make a stink if someone questions them, just to make it so uncomfortable that everyone is looking at you and you are disrupting the show that you order something. --In addition to this, the host of the show made sure to announce MULTIPLE times during the evening, "Don't forget to tip your waitresses! Remember, your waitresses need appreciation too!" etc, etc. When we got our final bill, (hand-written, of course) I glanced at the total and immediately knew that it was not adding up right. We added it up and realized that they automatically added a 20% tip!!!!! There was a completely illegible hand-scribbled line at the bottom under the drinks, which I assume was the tip they added. Then, after paying with credit card, on the receipt was the typical "Tip:" and "Total:" lines. Are. You. Kidding. Me. I can't imagine how many people, especially groups, don't realize that they did this and tip an additional 15-20%. It was a good show and a fun evening, but between all the other stuff, it just left a bad taste in our mouths and really ended the night on a low note. We won't be returning.

Richard Mcbrayer

Went with My wife, Sister, and her boyfriend. The comedy was pretty good but we were charged twice. One charge for the Drinks we had Then a secondary charge for the drinks plus the tip. I spoke with a manager and he said the refund would hit in three days, three days later no refund so I called again and got the same answer, its been 2 weeks.

Michelle Marler

I love going here. I always have a blast, much better then a regular bar. All the comics are funny.

jessica Lee

We love going here and are regulars If you don't like the two drink min Your a cheap skate You can get a coke for 3 Twice We love it and and live to laugh

Seth Ogan

They wanted to seat my wife and I in two chairs that weren’t next to each other. We left. They did give us a refund, so that’s why they get 2 stars.

Matt Stewart

Had a great time when we all went. Nice staff.

T J

Great place. I've gone a few times with my dad, we plan on coming back!

Chris Peterson

Had my first visit to Hyena's last night. Club and facilities were clean and modern. Club room was tight, but not uncomfortable. $5-$7 drink prices with a 2 drink minimum as expected. Warm-up acts were good, the laughs pretty much stopped there. While we didn't see Billy Washington, we did see Dustin Ybarra, and this is the reason for the reduced review. He was high out of his mind. Started repeating his set after 20 minutes, talked about using suppositories in his personal life, took his shirt off twice and tossed into the crowd, then attempted to un-do his belt. Management then made the decision to remove him from the stage. The host MC then came out for a couple jokes to finish the abbreviated set. The kicker is, after talking to my neighbor, she seen the same comedian fall apart at Hyena's before. Final verdict, Hyena's is a decent place for a show, it's just puzzling why they keep bringing back hacks.

Bryan Bing

Took my wife here Saturday night. We bought the tickets online and printed them out at home. Get there early to get in line for better seats. We got there about 7:30, show started at 8. Drinks were fine. Food was typical deep fryer fast and pricey. Staff was nice. No complaints from us. Comedians were awesome. Adam Ray was the headliner. This was the first time we both have ever been to a comedy club and we loved it. Laughed our asses off. My wife's face hurt by the time we left. Will recommend and go again. Happy Birthday Gizzard.(you had to be there)

Jameson Barkley

Usually a great experience, until the place gets packed. Then it gets crazy but it's understandable. Cause it's 15 guests to one server easily. But yeah. Worth going to. Especially if you get free tickets.

Zach Speer

Good venue, definitely worth checking out.

Kathy Tune

Love Hyenas

Marko Polo

Nice place. Clean. Safe area.

Patrick Brooks

Getting in this place is a bit confusing bc it’s underground, then walk through doors. Every seat in the house is great, the show was great, waitress are fast...

Rebecca Vargas

I'm a comedian and I love it there but of course I perform there!

Perla Decor

Awesome club. Totally giving it a 5!

Rhonda Newman

I love the grown & sexy atmosphere Hyena's has people are so friendly no drama, karaoke is a blast, their Nacho's & wings are the bomb customer service is awesome there I give them 5 stars!

Bruce Marshall

Fantastic place for drinks and a good laugh.

Ethan Waldrip

I called them two days ago to ask them how we should go about purchasing the Groupon deal they had going on. I was told to make a reservation, which I did under my girlfriend's name, and that i needed to buy the Groupon the day of the show (Tonight at 10:30). I went to buy the Groupon today and it said it was no longer available even though on the Groupon it said "available through 8/1/2019". I called them and asked if there was anything they could do or if it was possible for them to honor the Groupon price and was just told no followed by complete silence and no explanation.

Jordan Peebles

Used to love this place, we’ve been to multiple shows. Last two times we’ve been, there’s been a private event. Really disappointing when make plans with friends and drive thirty minutes to find this out. Why not post this information online where people can see it before making the drive out. Not going to give this place another chance. I’ll be sure to recommend others do the same.

Sandra Tompkins

IF I COULD PUT ZERO STARS, I WOULD!!! THEIR SERVICE SUCKS AND THEY ARE CHEATS!! Our tab with 3 people was only $41. I gave them $30 in cash and charged $15 on my card with tip. Checked my Amex bill and they apparently charged me $41 on my card as well!! Not to mention they charged me more than what the bill actually should have been!! We added the prices up of everything we ordered and it should have only been $35. Even with taxes, how the hell did our bill become $41??? Plus our 2 friends that came with us had an overcharged bill as well. between 2 people, $106?!! He added their drinks up (i don't remember what it should have been) and it was charged way more that it should have been as well!! AND THEY DON'T EVEN US A COMPUTER SYSTEM TO RING PEOPLE UP!!! IT IS ALL HAND DONE, WHICH I'M PRETTY SURE IS ILLEGAL WHEN IT COMES TO ALCOHOL SALES!!!! My recommendation: IF YOU GO HERE, PAY WITH CASH AFTER EACH ITEM!!!! AND IF YOU DO USE A CREDIT CARD, WATCH YOUR STATEMENT CLOSELY!!!! THIS IS BS!!!!

Clint Doyen

Dude told my wife to calm down when she asked him a question. Reservations mean nothing. We were not able to meet our friends. It seems because they are trying to be 100% capacity. Money hungry instead of creating support with good customer service.

Kameshia Greer

Cramped, food came out late but good, & great show of Kerwin Clabourn 9/23/18.

Marion Bianchini

We had so much fun really needed the laughs staff was great!

Brian Hodges

Celebrated my birthday there Sat night and had an amazing time!

Dan Perkins

Was a horrible night. The comedian (Billy Washington) was insulting during the show. Picked out a man in the crowd that was not enjoying the show and forced the guy to admit that he felt the comedian did not have enough material and gave a critical review. The last 20 minutes was defense of his performance directed towards the critical opinion. Was date night for my wife and I and this ended our night feeling angry that we paid for over priced drinks without humor. Will never go back again and will discourage all our friends in the DFW metroplex from going.

Mark M

Comedians have always been good. The drinks are subpar. You have to buy minimum 2 drinks, get beer.

Drew/Aglae Candelaria

Great show every week.

Nick Girard

I enjoyed it.

Kinzington McElvain

Great comedy club. 2 item minimum, and inexpensive! Great for a night out.

David Alexander

I DROVE AN HOUR TO HYENA'S COMEDY CLUB, GOT THERE at 7:50 (ten minutes before the show started) and was told, "Oh, its full. We oversell our shows in case people don't show up." Then, the bouncer told me that we could go to the 10:30 show, but my girlfriend works at a mental health facility and had to be at work at 11pm. Then, the bouncer told me he was sorry and would refund my money, if we STOOD AT THE BACK OF THE LINE OF EIGHTY PEOPLE AND WAITED ANOTHER 45 MINUTES. What the hell? Worst experience I've ever had - drove one hour to the club, waited in line for thirty minutes and had to ask to find out it was full, then drove home another hour. I'm leaving a zero star review in every place I can. Ruined my anniversary and my night. Screw this place.

JD Gonzales

hit or miss on comedians, but staff is great and the atmosphere is fun. always a good time. prices of food and drink are too high though.

Jackie Hall

My husband and I have been going to Hyena's Comedy Night Club for years. The first location they had was not top of the line bu the acts made up for it. The new location is very nice. They seem to have better acts since moving to the new location as well. The last time we were there, tears were running down my face as well as others from laughing so hard. The first act is normally a local guy. He did pretty good. The second act I would have been satisfied if he would had been the headliner. He was great. But the headliner. oh my word. I snorted laughing so hard and I don't normally snort when I laugh It was a great night. If you fill out the card they leave on the table you have the chance to win 20 free passes to a future show. When you get to the venue you have the opportunity to pay a little bit to be the first group to be seated. Not sure why my husband does this. The place is intimte and there isn't a bad seat in the house. There is a 2 purchase minimum. You do not have to buy two adult drinks unless you want to. I get bottled water and a soda. There is a karaoke stage in the back to the left of the bar. You can sing before and after the show. I almost forgot, You can meet the acts after the show some let you take a selfies with them or get autograph if you would like. It just depends on the act.

evla

They have a 2 item rule, where you have to order 2 things off the menu, I wouldn't recommend the food, but the drinks are good. They usually have great lineups.

Green Garden

We've come here many times and had a great time but tonight was awful. My husband was used in a bit and asked to take a shot then they charged us $20 for it. Will never return.

Jonathan Torres

Great little spot for a good night out watching some great Stand up comedians. Great drinks the food is so so but the drinks are great.

Nate Martin

Great venue for live stand up, had a great time, definitely going back!!

Bridgett Newman

Food and drinks are overpriced, but that's to be expected. We have never been disappointed in the shows here. We always have a great time!

Texas Xtreme 10B

My wife and I love this place we had a great time.

Marc Budaus

Poor service, a poor process for seating, a rude staff/security and an overall bad experience. A comedy club should be a place to have fun and enjoy, however to be misidentified as a table/people being too involved in the show and disruptive was ridiculous. The staff was then unapologetic, only stating their policy and not offering any opportunity to make things right was unfortunate. We won’t be back!

Araceli Vallejo

Has karaoke with a wide selection of songs. Pretty good food too. There is a 2 item minimum when going in for the comedy show. Every time you go it's a different experience.

Yancy Smith

Other than the thick cloud of smoke... makes for a good time. People complaining about being "forced" to buy a drink is B.S.... its free admission... but its a 2 drink minimum... so quick complaining. The drinks and food are good for the price. Not gonna break the bank here!

Bree Lucas

my boyfriend and i absolutely love this place! everyone is always so kind and helpful and it’s overall always such a fun night! the comedians are always amazing and the vibe is always cool. the prices are a little high but that’s to be expected, and the food is okay!

Just Me

Retry decent show these guys put on! All and all i was pleased with the experience.

Lindsey Gayle

Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Would love to go back.

Randy Gossage

Bait and switch on there prices

Laura Jones

Landon is a horrible floor host. Bad service. Comedians aren't funny.

DaQuetta Moody

Rotating lineup of comedians. More than one location. Chances for free admission with minimum purchase in showroom. Drinks and food variety are decent, not too pricy but can add up quickly when combining items. Be practical to save. Went to FTW location for change of venue, presently doing renovations.

Brook Hooten

Always have a great time here

Tricia Benton

Had a great time... Only complaint is that it's very unorganized when it's time to be seated.

Kristen Flores

We got the free admission with 2 item minimum tickets and we had a blast. Great location, great service and I really enjoyed the show.. we will be back for sure!

Bonnie Jeffrey

They have some stupid rule that you HAVE to buy 2 rounds of drinks "if you want to continue sitting here" per the waitress. That's cheap. The comedy was actually okay but because of their "buy 2 rounds or give up your seats rule" we will totally be taking our business elsewhere.

Charles Rand

Really lame comedy. The food is soggy and overpriced. We ended up leaving because the security Staff is overbearing and obnoxious to guests. The tickets are free but you get what you pay for......

Laura Borel

NOBODY TELLS YOU THAT THEY ADD A TIP OF 18% BEFORE THEY BRING YOU THE CHECK. So, you end up tipping twice because your bill isn't itemized, just the total. Beware.

Kristin Young

Great entertainment, staff and alcohol!

Avery C

Hilarious!! Loved it and will definitely come back next time in Ft.worth.

norma jaimes

My husband and I love coming here when we finally have some time to ourselves.

Patrick Delgado

Fun. The young girl who opened up was probably the funniest of them all. Great time!

Blsdsheka hart

Had an amazing time! Good food, good price and a whole bunch of laughs:)

Induced Pandemic

On behalf of those against recreationally offended pylons of pity: The Seinfeld era is over, if you want limits then pull out your old VCR tapes of ol' Jerry and anyone else unwilling to hurt the feelings of some other whiny, mentally impotent reject who's only impact in life comes through a 256 character review on Google... I still don't understand why people who can't take a joke go to a church of joksters... please violently anally fornicate yourselves.

Rachel McFarlin

Cozy venue and great acts!! I went with a group of gal pals for Galentines and we had a great time! We got bothered by a drunk show go-er, but management staff was quick to spot him out and escort him from the venue, I've never seen such proactive staff at a venue like this!! Have been and will continue to be a fan for life!

Zac Stansell

Was having a good time for the first two opening comedians.. until the waitresses came back countless times during the performance and FORCED us to buy rounds until they were satisfied with how many rounds we bought. We said we were all good and set and our waitress said if we wanted to keep our seats (in a room full of people), we had to buy at least two rounds (We had already bought several drinks in the comedy bar lobby before the show and were all set) It was obnoxious and had to spend $50 extra on drinks we didn't even want or drink because of their policy when we had already paid for preferred seating.. if you're wanting a good comedy show, three stars. If you're wanting to pay money for the show and not spend anymore money, one star.

jared s

Great stand up on weekends. Thursday's open mics are decent.

Carrie Denniston Kostiha

Would give zero stars if I could. I have never been to a comedy club and have always wanted to go, so my husband surprised me for my birthday and bought tickets, in addition to a hotel room because we live two hours outside of the city. We arrived before the 8:00 start time, and were told that we may not get in at all because we didn’t arrive by 7:30, which was not indicated to my husband when he bought the tickets and is not listed anywhere on the tickets themselves, even in the fine print! We were not the only ones in this position, as there were five other couples in line who had no idea they were supposed to arrive early. To top it all off, the guy at the front desk was a total jerk (to put it mildly). He had a bad attitude and acted like we were stupid for not “reading the fine print,” even though there was none to warn us about this! We have scoured the emails, website, and tickets since and still can’t find it anywhere. We stood in line for a long time and then finally left because the guy was so obnoxious and we didn’t think we would have much fun at this place even if we did get in. This was supposed to be the main event of our evening and the reason we came to Fort Worth. What a disappointment. These people need to get their act together and practice better business. Also, do not buy tickets. They give free tickets away to anyone and everyone apparently, and clearly buying tickets gives you no advantage - even “preferred seating,” which is what we had. All in all, just a horrible experience. Will never patronize this business again, and will tell all of my friends and family (and the internet) not to either.

Vicki Reber

One of my favorite places to go. Always a fun-filled night.

Theresa Lemak

Hyena's is a great place to check out. We have seen a few really great stand ups here for free on Thursday or with their ticket giveaways. The two items minimum in the showroom is easy enough to meet even on a budget. The room is pretty small; there aren't any bad seats. If you upgrade to preferred you can get in the first row of tables, and may become part of the show depending on the comedian.

Duane Hobbs

The decor keeps getting better every time I come here. Comic Rick is awesome, hell all of the comics I have seen are great.

V Glenn

I heard a lot of bad reviews before and after going however, the experience we had was decent. I wish we could be seated a little sooner to have more down time to enjoy food and drink before hand but im sure thats used as time to clear and clean the area before the next seating but other than that it was good. Food was decent, buffalo wings were tasty indeed, drink were decent and the Comedion (sure wish I remembered his name) was freaking funny as heck and very kind and shook hands with everyone after the show! After I saw the had Kareoke as we were leaving....I really didnt wanna leave : ( I give it 4 stars because the tables are very small and the tried to split our group up for seating.

Amber Woods

I was disappointed because there's a lot to like about this place. But unfortunately, my friends and I decided not to pay extra for preferred seating, and the main room was so packed that we didn't get a table. We had to sit on uncomfortable bar stools against the back wall. Some people who came in after us were even more unlucky - they didn't even get bar stools and had to stand through the whole show! Customers should not have to pay extra for a table, especially with the 2 item minimum requirement. The venue managers should never sell or give away more tickets than they can properly accommodate. But at the very least, if they think they must fill the place to possible fire code-violating levels, they should waive the 2 item minimum for people who don't get tables. That would be a fair exchange for inconvenience, discomfort, and safety compromises we have deal with. I will say one thing - the wait staff was great. They tried their best to help us with our uncomfortable situation.

Jeb Pasillas

Staff is always friendly. Sucks that there is a two item minimum but hey that's how most clubs work!

Posh Bo

It started off weird before the show. We were issued a preferred seating ticket. When it was time for the show some guy yells for people with this preferred ticket to line up. So when we started to line up the people started pushing each other. Men were being mean to women. People were yelling, saying if you don’t have a preferred ticket get the f out of the line. Very hostile crowd. It was like hillbillies gone wild! Their food is terrible. Got my husband sick, he ate way more of it than me.

Rick O'Neil

Great comedy show worth price.

Jody Budaus

Absolutely horrible staff. This was my first time there and I will NEVER go back. They were so incredibly rude. If you want to go to a great, FRIENDLY comedy show you need to go to Four Day Weekend on Houston Street next to Reata.

Wild Storm

The comedian I saw was great, the food was basic fried fare you can find at any cheap bar or in the freezer section at a grocery. 4 stars for the entrainment, not the food.

Chris Cortez

We have been to Comedy clubs all over the US. But this one, by far, is the worst comedy club we have ever been to. I have never left a bad review in my life, but I have to warn you guys about this one before you spend your time and money here, DONT GO!! Very rude staff with management yelling and acting extremely unprofessional! I couldn't even believe that this was actually happening! Please look at other attractions when you're in town. This place here is a joke!

Alice Kayirangwa

If you want to relax and unwind this is the place to go!!! It depends on who is performing though

Miste Anders

I really enjoyed myself here. Well organized. Drinks were good. They even had karaoke going on in between the comedy sets. I loved meeting the comedians after and getting their autographs and things they were selling.

Amy Riggs

We got in and started having a good time till our waitress told us we had to order a minimum of 2 items. So she went and told her manager that we didn’t want to order anything. The manager then pulled my husband to the side and told him if we didn’t buy anything then we had to pay a 3 dollar service fee or go into the other room....We were invited to come here with some family members and wanted to have fun and go out on a date for once but this ruined our date. WORST PLACE EVER!!!!

Michella Mays

I wish giving a score of "0" was an option. Apparently looking at the comments from this place, me and my friends aren't the only ones that think the staff and manager is horrible and incredibly RUDE! Bring back the old management. We were regulars but no more! Will definitely go out of my way to NOT recommend your comedy club. Go back to Management 101 for DUMMIES or find a job where you don't have to interact with CUSTOMERS. Got nuttin' ????????

Cynthia Walker Ejiogu

Good place for hubby & me to hang out on weekends. Have visited here several times. Really enjoy the line-up of diverse comedic acts. The only drawback is the 2-item minimum rule that was added. Enjoyed it better before that change.

Josh Dressler

Great place to have a laugh

Alexander Richards

Shane Torres was absolutely hysterical!

Kathy P

The headliner Billy Washington, ran out of material and started talking politics seriously. Complete idiot. Had to listen to his idiotic politics with zero jokes for last 15 mins. Billy Washington is a racist whack job. Waste of money. I came to laugh not hear your ignorant politics. 12 year old was the MC. What the hell? If I wanted kids around I would go to a day care. Never going back.

Brett Poteet

It was a decent club. I loved the show (Dry Bar Comedy) but the venue was awkward layout, you were crammed in, assigned a table with people you don’t know. Not my favorite, but it did the job.

Catherine Criswell

Great place to go to have a great time. Drinks are delish and food is great.

Christin L.

People working seemed nice enough. My main issue for docked stars is just with the seating being so extra sardine style and food selection/quality. Much prefer The Improv, sorry.

Scott Wilkerson

My wife and I had an amazing time at this comedy club. When you arrive early they seat you in the "red room" with comfortable tables and a bar. Then a few minutes before the show starts they seat you. We shared a table with another couple, which most people might not like, but we ended up laughing together and even went to a bar together afterwards. The host was funny. The first comedian and the headliner had laughing until we cried! There is a two item minimum purchase, but we were already drinking so that didn't bother us. This was probably the most fun we've had on a date in years. I give the comedy club an A+.

Eddie Ellerson

Always offering free tickets online and the atmosphere is great. Great comedy for a good night out

Frank Tank

They didn't open up the general open until 8:25. This many they were still seating ppl and taking and delivering driving orders while the show started.

Christina Richie

My absolute favorite place to go on the weekends! I love the karaoke and the comedians are hilarious! Most of the time the opening acts are just as funny as the headliners

Brandon Davis

Hilarious. They had 3 very funny acts. U highly recommend Hyena's as a fun night out!
