I had no idea this venue had a restaurant until I did some research online and man am I glad I did. Took my wife there for a date to hear some live music and have a great meal. Unfortunately, the artist that was scheduled to perform canceled but nevertheless my wife & I enjoyed our meal. The brisket nachos were delicious and filling. The portion size was massive, enough nachos to share amongst 3-4 people. The restaurant has an amazing ambiance that makes for a great date night destination. Check this place out if you’re looking for a change of pace dinner option.
Sad to say I was every let down. The food was INCREDIBLE but the music was awful
BEAUTIFUL ambiance, great music and delicious food in downtown Houston! Staff is so friendly, love it here! Come here for drinks, dinner and live music! Space looks small but there’s a much more than you think - rooms throughout, an outdoor terrace, bar and stage behind the bar. Great spot for good music, food and dancing!
I have attended shows at numerous House of Blues locations and the Houston venue does not disappoint. It is located in the heart of downtown with easy access to bars, parks, lodging, and residences. The employees are always nice and the interior is clean. I'm sure I'll be back again soon.
Had fun but the time shown online didn’t match the show times. We missed the show we intended to see and then the drinks were absolutely insanely expensive.
Gospel brunch is always great but food at the restaurant jazz brunch was not all that and service was horrible.
Went and saw Boney James in concert. Another item off the bucket list. It was a great time in a friendly atmosphere.
Possibly my favorite venue ever. Really great experiences with some of my all time favorite bands. Even for a packed show, HOB Houston handles the crowd nicely. I’ve never had to wait too long for a drink either. A+
Love the HOBH great venue! They book great gigs! Keep it up!
Music tribute was awesome. The downside was after the show we were chased down by an employee about a bill they thought we didn't pay. They made us come all the way back we just crossed the street into the garage already. My husband raised hell and showed them the receipt. They apologized and refund our whole night experience.
Party Time
Attended my daughter's fashion show here. It's a nice place. Mature crowd. No drama. Good entertainment.
The pizza tasted good for the price. The bath rooms were clean and wasn’t over packed. At least in the girls bathroom I loved the wall of lotions to try. The floors in the main room that I was in wasn’t sticky and the chairs looked well maintained
You would imagine theyd use a better ticket selling service. Errors out constantly.
This place is amazing. Dropped my kids at the concert venue, went next door to the Foundation Room in the House of Blues. The service was warm & friendly. The decor is stunning. Food was delicious. Then a band started playing & every thing went from great to fantastic! They were spectacular! What a find. Will be back for sure.
It was my first time here & it was cool. Not going to lie, a bit crowded but I really enjoyed myself. Drinks could be better then again I'm no bartender, just a consumer lol. Great Vibes though!
Both bands, "Issues" and "l Prevail" put on stellar performances. Ticket prices were really reasonable for such great music. Wonderful date night.
Great venue for live music! Beer selection could be better and the restaurant is weak but overall a good place.
I mean - it's ok. I've seen some good shows here and the sound is usually decent. Not my favorite venue in Houston, but it's House of Blues. The drinks and restaurant are ridiculously expensive.
Best concerts here man! Could not have asked for a better experience! Love it!
Excellent food, music and environment. Price was reasonable. Ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. Everything was pitch perfect. Will definitely visit again.
Pretty cool i see alot of biz going in there.
For the gluten sensitive crowd, they offer a pretty good taco dish on the dinner menu. I was hoping for a but more music, there was quiet, live guitar in the background, almost like a really good radio, so it was easy to have a normal conversation without yelling.
A pretty good place. The restaurant itself is good with huge servings. I would say it is well priced. The concert hall itself is pretty okay. There is a bar on the concert hall behind the general admissions area. The staff are pretty nice and willing to help. I recommend that if you chose to seat at the balcony instead, go for the center section. The edges do not provide good view.
First time here. We came to see Leon. We all had a great time and it was a nice experience in a smaller venue. My only complaint is that we got pizza from the bar and it tasted old, like it had been there for a few days. I paid 50$ for 6 slices of pizza. That's absurd and extremely over priced.
First time here and it was a nice venue. Good music, drinks, and food.
the burgers are fantastic even for the high price. and the carolina mess appitiser makes a great high-carb meal on its own as well. if you're looking for live music call ahead. usually they have someone but they didnt find someone the day we went
What a place to love! Small house brings you closer to the music.
Was great. Was volunteering the Houston Sports Hall of Fame Event. Loved it
Love the Venue ! Wish drinks were not so expensive!
Went to the rick Ross concert, I’ve been to a few concerts before here and I always have a great time only thing I recommend is getting there a little earlier to get a good spot to watch the concert . Drinks were good and reasonable price, bathrooms had plenty of stalls. Great time
Cool venue. Prices are a little high but the place is fun
The food is excellent the dessert is bar none i really had a great time & The staff are the best.Richard waited on us if you get by here ask for Richard, it will be worth it.
Had a great time only thing I can complain about would be the prices on drinks but other than that great place!
My experience there was great. There drinks are great. The food is a bit pricey but it's expected at these kinds of venues. Definitely a "friend's night out" type of place.
Nice environment. Good food ate beef skewers. Delish. First time visiting, want to go again.
Went with my 4-year old daughter (concert page said all ages event). It started two and a half hours later than the 7PM announced time. Will not be coming back here for a while.
Great place with an awesome musical background. The hostess Kat is courteous towards us upon arrival and Bree is an excellent attentive waitress. Will definitely be back here again. Great service great vibes a houston treasure
If you can, definitely go to Foundation Room before for dinner. Incredible atmosphere. Great food and service. A VIP experience. Escorted down to the show and access to come back to bar after the show where awesome DJ played and ended up seeing the band. Venue great for music. Bar staff friendly.
Walked in a little after 6 PM with 2 others, we were greeted and sat down immediately. Service was awesome. We ordered the BBQ Family style, certainly enough for 4 people. All the meats were good. The brisket was more like pot roast, good flavor just not like normal brisket. The ribs were good, my favorite was the chicken, great flavor and moist!
Nice venue for a more intimate concert experience. Good balcony seating for the main stage. Leg room is limited. I like that there's a bar and restroom upstairs
I ordered the Voodoo Shrimp and Cajun Pasta. Neither one was very good. The cornbread that came with the shrimp may have been good...I'm not sure since it was swimming in a sauce that had way too much sugar in it. The pasta was bland and very greasy. My waitress was really nice and the atmosphere was cool, but I will definitely find a different place to eat before I go again.
Great place to see live music. Food isnt bad either.
Nice environment , went to see JB Smooth Comedy Show
Great venue friendly staff would definitely recommend this place.
Before seeing our show I had trouble finding a bathroom in the building outside as the signs that said restrooms led nowhere. But House of Blues itself was great. Tasty food and friendly service and a GREAT show.
Loved loved loved, the vibe, the art, THE ART!! Will definitely be back!
I really enjoyed the concert I attended. Drinks were a bit pricey. Definitely worth it to pay the extra for balcony seats.
The bartender Tae made top notch drinks. Marcus the bar back was a gem. Strong drinks & good eats all night. Babs the manager is the bomb!!! Polite & knows her way around the bar. #goodeats #topnotchdrinks #friskywiskey
Great service, great food. The music was awesome.
My first time to this location. Very clean, and good customer service. I do recommend it. The Brisket Nachos were very good and filling. Stop in and ask for BONES great attention to detail. He will take care of you!
Awesome Venue for live music! Most shows are all ages. Balcony seats , table top seats in back and floor is normally standing room only. Most bands only have one opener at this venue! Restaurant is great a little high priced but if your going to a show the $25 pass the line credit is great. Staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have on menu items.
The venue was pretty awesome! Looked like I was in a movie scene watching the show. I think they could use Bathroom on both sides to help with the traffic in the back bar.
Then Foundation Room is really cool. Get there early for front row general admission. The venue is cozy and has a great vibe for a more intimate performance experience.
The best concerts where you can have the artist very close for a good picture or video.
It was for X's members only tour. Once in a lifetime experience. #LLJ
Only thing I didn't like was how small the floor area was. It was unbelievably crowded. Other than that, I had a great time
The Lucy Juicy Burger was fabulous! I was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter Bonez took great care of us. We will return to HOB. It was fun
Every time I go I have a good time. Seems like I always have a story to tell about the night there and some of the best memories seems to be made there
Intimate venue with excellent acoustics! Great place for concerts! Easy access to the bar. Also a great restaurant inside! Loved the entire experience! Friendly staff. Minutes from George Bush International airport!
Rusted Cage tonight....fun guys who played while Houston was under a flood warning... definitely want to see them again and I know it's at least once a year. Yesssssss!
Great Venue.... mediocre food and drinks. Basic.
Very tasty food. Nice atmosphere. Omar was nice server.
There for the Ozzy tribute band. Show was awesome, but anywhere where they try to charge me $13 for a $2.50 tall boy, gets a dislike. My wife's cocktail was $21. The venue was fine, the show was absolutely awesome, but those overpriced drinks killed the whole experience for us. We won't be back.
I was forced to throw my water bottle in the trash before I could go in. They do that so you pay for their overpriced drinks. So rude! Not to mention wasteful! I needed to take my pill in 20 minutes, so I ended up going to the bathroom to get water in my hands to take it. It really made me mad!
Always a beautiful, cool venue in the Foundation room with its ornate designs and fancy bar next to the smaller performance area. The concert venue is intimate with seating and below is open for the groupies to be close to the stage. A great venue for all kinda of musical events.
I love this place! Lots to see, great entertainment and good food and drinks.
Okayish place! I ended up going there for my birthday because it would become a tradition as I had spent my last one in a House of Blues in another city but I didn't really enjoy the place. The proportions are huge and the servers push unnecessary food items.
I always have a good time here. Always good entertainment comin thru here. Can't wait till the next show.
Cool place downtown to watch live music. Check out the VIP room. I think they call it the foundation room.
Love the experience first time here pat benatar concert. Nice bar
I love house of blues. Any time someone I like is playing there I try to make it. The venue is small so no matter where seats are or general area, there is always a great view of the performers.
We ate here twice, it was busy both nights but we managed to get a table anyway. Everything we ate was very good. Kenzie, our waitress was fabulous, she offered extra like extra barbecue sauce that I didn't even think to ask for, she was friendly and kept on top of our drinks. Wish we had restaurants like this in our town, but then I would eat too much! The live music both nights was great. We had a wonderful time and plan to come back whenever we are in town!
I went for the craft beer and blues festival. It was great. HOB opened the entire place including the foundation room and the peacock room up for the event. The place is massive.
Great place for: food, drinks, event, concert or karaoke. I ones had my photography showcase here, and it was amazing aka Lit
Super chill place, held my things for a small fee so I didn't even have to worry about them while enjoying the concert
Great venue! I've seen Bricks In The Wall twice in as many years, and Reverend Horton Heat once! All amazing shows❣ The beer should NOT be $13.00 for a 16oz. Art Car! Price gouging, much?
Awesome. Recommend the VIP Seating. Buy the general admission tickets and then upgrade.
I feel at home here. Thank you for such an awesome atmosphere, drinks, music and service. I'll be back.
Great live music! Cajun pasta dish was sub-par and not worth the price. The fried chicken sandwich was really good! Great over all dining experience. not great for intimate dinners though, especially on live music nights.
Very good food, terrific bar with seating for a large bar crowd. Big screen TVs, complemented by a constant stream of live music most nights. At the beginning of each month starting in September, is jazz night. Come in and see what the "Power of Size" is really like, when the Houston Jazz Orchestra (HJO), opens up. If you've never heard a big band jazz Orchestra, You are in for a treat. It's surprising how many people have never heard live, an 18 piece Jazz Orchestra. Some listen and say wow, I've never heard anything like that.
This is a really good place to eat in downtown. The 2 times we went if had good food and good live music. They took reservations for a large group and had it all ready for us. The music was just a bit too loud to have a good conversation though, so you have to yell a bit of your right in front. It was overall really good though.
We attended the craft beer and bands event and it was well done! I would have liked more of the breweries to have great stout beer, Ingenious had one. But the live bands were fabulous! The food was great also! HOB as a venue was perfect for such an event with multiple bands playing at once.
Fun place to go before a show. Spend $25 per person in the restaurant and you can skip the line to get into the music venue!! Ask your server for a stamp. It was awesome to walk by 200 people and get front row access.
Good concert venue. Processing fees are cheaper if you buy at the box office rather than online. Been to several concerts here and always have a great time.
concerts are always great and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable
Very Expensive! They find any way to make money. I'll never go back!
Great place to view shows. Great view from anywhere in venue.
These folks are the best! Pleade, go visit, get to know the people that work there, especially Liza! She is a powerful, intelligent, funny woman. She makes theplace! It isawesome! ENJOY!
Always have so much fun when I go out there.
It's way too small to hold certain events. The RAW organization did not plan their event well. I invited my friend thinking we'd have a good time instead it was like being stuck in a rat maze but with a ton of people squished everywhere. The drinks were overpriced and there was one bartender at each bar nobody could get through to anything lol poor venders nobody stopped to look at the art due to everyone getting pushed a long. A lot of people went to support the local art talent and did not really enjoy the atmosphere.
We always have a fantastic time here. I've only had one issue with a member of their staff. Otherwise everyone was fantastic and the concerts were great if not interesting.
Great place to watch shows. The only reason it loses a star is because of the exorbitant pricing of food and drinks. $6 for a small bottle of warm aquafina water. I get markup, but this is crazy. Also the chairs are positioned extremely close for several shoes I've attended (floor seating). But the environment, sound, ambience and so much more are excellent to be entertained
A cultural staple of Houston. Many great memories made here!
Great place. A little crowded but the sound quality is great and it was a amazing concert.
Food was pretty good. Prices a little high. Waitress was courteous. Want super busy at noon when I and my coworkers went.
We had a party of 12. Service after our food was delivered was a little slow. There was good live music of cover music (usually pop and rock) They had a wrong order of kinds of side dishes for one of our party members. They did come around and refill our water twice. We got pimento cheese spread and guacamole with chips. Chips had too much salt. Spreads were very good and flavorful (esp. pimento cheese spread). The following dishes were house favorites. Chicken friend steak was fried too low temperature, so it was greasy and not crispy. I asked for extra gravy, it was not given. Gravy didn’t have much flavor. Mash potatoes were good. Impossible burger of course was good and so were the sweet potatoes fries. Fries were tasty and crispy.
I come here pretty often due to the concerts. Staff is usually super chill and nice for the most part (at least the times I've always gone) drinks and food I always avoid because I'm not gonna waste my money on it when I have merch to buy
I always enjoy my time here me and my guests always have an amazing experience. This is one of Houston's must go to places. Its a very good place for any kind of concert for any kind of music. If you go to the restaurant I recommend the BBQ Nachos. Always very beautiful women and the bartenders are very knowledgeable. Parking is right across the street and it is at a very accessible location.
Live Music was good, food not too great. Had the fried chicken plate. $19 for 3 pieces, too much crust and it was sweet chicken, yuck. Mashed potatoes, ok good cold slaw and decent corn on the cob, (small ear of corn, tho) not sure I will try again
Consistently a great place! I love it!
First time there was for Scott Stapp! Awesome sound awesome show!! Will go to other shows for sure.
House of Blues venue is always a nice atmosphere for the music lover. The restaurant has GREAT food, and I recommend The Dark Knight for a nice drink with your meal. Staff are friendly, and down to earth. Manager was great. He walked the tables and stopped by several times to ask if everything was good, or we needed anything else. 1. I ordered the Juicy Lucy, which was insanely good. (Burger with roasted tomatoes and fried jalapenos) 2. My wife ordered the Yard Bird, which she loved. (Fried Chicken sandwich) 3. My son ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, and LOVED it. Will return! Thanks all for making my sons first concert experience great!
Great food, attentive staff. No complaints, I had a good time even as a solo traveler.
Great venue for concerts and shows! They always have so many great show worth getting tickets for!
Great ambiance and entertainment with the Outlaw Dave show!
I really like this venue for concerts, and their food is pretty good. The problem is that everything in there is insanely overpriced. Parking can be an issue as well.
Great Venue! Food was awesome, staff was amazing. Price were reasonable. Was there for Tesla concert, had a blast. Will definitely return.
Went to the GUNNA concert here on 5/6. Had such a good time. I upgraded my tickets to pass the line tickets for an extra$25 when I got there and it was worth it ! Staff was nice and helpful. Drinks were pretty good. I'll be back memorial day weekend and I'm looking forward to it already.
Came for an event. Food is always great and the waiters are personable. Even when busy, the food comes out in a reasonable time frame.
It was great... wish there were seats though
Good restaurant with many options, great tasting food and nice ambiance. Live music most days.
Up close and personal view of bands except if you're in the balcony. If you're sitting on the sides in the balcony, one third of the stage will be blocked.
Fantastic music venue, but if you’re planning on drinking you’d better be prepared to empty your 401(k). $20 for one crown?!?
Did not visit the restaurant or shop, but the music hall is great. Spacious, great acoustics, the drinks and food are on the pricey side but not too much. Definitely enjoyed watching Buckethead live, hopefully we will have some more great shows like this coming up!
Easy parking and good food at a good price. Great venue for live music and concerts.
My first visit was a blast! Lots of great House of Blues memorabilia. Very hip shirts and 'the real deal's fedora Blue's Brothers hats! Great gifts everyone can afford. Can't wait to see some fantastic live bands!
We ate then saw a show. The all vegan Impossible Burger was soooooooo delicious, I can't wait to go back just to eat! We saw the Selena Tribute and it was completely packed. A little too packed for comfort. That's my only complaint.
Really cool place. I dig the environment.
It was so worth the wait, once he got on stage he didn't let us down. The show was awesome and wonderful. Can't wait for Yelawolf to come to Houston again. The House of Blues service was awesome. They help us find our seat's and when we had questions about anything they answer them politely. Wonderful and warm atmosphere. Love it.
Drinks and staff are A+. Worth it just to hang out with Chris (the great) and Babs. Great service and people. You won’t regret the visit! Go. Now!
Awesomeness... here for In This Moment concert and DED and New Years Day are Headlines. Awesome night
It's okay place.. 12.00 drinks and decent food. Has good music..
Amazing experience, staff is wonderful, and always a great place to catch a show. Packed house but everyone from the security to the bartenders are killing it! Love this place!
Great food. Shoot, forgot our server She was superb! Everything was inviting
A very safe place, the workers are very attentive and professional. great place
I went here for a meeting and awards ceremony. All was good. I did find that their prices for their beverages were quite high. I guess that felt they could charge these prices since they had a captive audience.
It was a little chilly even once the crowd had all assembled so they could turn the AC up a little higher. Said I really enjoyed their frozen alcoholic beverage is some of those I've never had before and they were quite delicious
I went for a concert so I only know the venue but it was a pleasant experience. Do arrive somewhat early to find parking. If you dont mind waiting then anytime will do but the line can get extremely long.
Awesome place for drink n live music!
A special place in my heart. My son won 2nd place in a band playoff. An exciting night. Of course it was packed on that night. It reminds me of a club from the 80s. Great stage/excellent sound/wonderful lighting for those that shine. Every dress code imaginable. Be yourself and look good doing it. Mommy loves you Prestie. Always my star.
This is one of my favorite venues for concerts because you can see everything pretty well and the pit was large. The drinks though were outrageously expensive. $18 for a drink.
Overall very good service. I interacted with several staff members and they really sought to provide good service. The experience seemed disjointed because while I ate there and saw a show it felt like to different establishments and it was not a seamless experience.
Good food & drinks. Waiter was knowledge when aske questions. He he didn't know, he went to find out. Overall slightly above average service.
Can get pretty crowded and hot, but its still a cool spot. Ide go again
HOB is one of my favorite venues, because getting to it is safe and a piece of cake (if getting to the venue itself is a nightmare, I have a much harder time enjoying the show - HOB makes this a non-issue). Especially easy to access via GreenStreet Garage. Enter on Fannin, park on second floor, and walk through sky bridge just a couple of blocks (all covered areas, so rain is no problem!).
Excellent night at Abbarama. Won the tickets so excellent all round. Thank you.x
Classy Environment. I attended the Gospel Brunch
I saw Dodie here in concert it was a great venue my only complaint would be the lack of speed in getting everyone inside
I highly enjoyed my time. I was given an very limited and exclusive opportunity to do things many would have to pay out the you know what for. So I won't share all just know you're gonna get some good service here.
Great food and awesome location to eat before heading to a concert.
The only drawback to HOB is that it closes too early on shows like this. But if you know your way round the place you can find some nice areas to end out the night!
The bronze peacock is awesome amazing vibe !! Drinks super pricey bbb
The Best place ever good food and entertainment. Loved it All
We went for the Sunday Jazz Brunch. The Jalapeno cornbread was delicious. Ambiance was very nice. I had the shrimp and grits. Shrimp was very seasoned and good. Grits were bland. I would definitely go back.
Good spot to enjoy a concert. For me sitting upstairs is the preference but SRO downstairs is workable. Good restroom and bar situation and ample staff to assist you.
Very intimate atmosphere. The Bands are up close. Great view from the balcony as well.
This place is easy over hyped. They don't have a fully stocked bar so are unable to make many of the drinks you would expect. The food is mediocre and it's standing room only. The only reason to go here is if there are bands you like playing other than that this place sucks
It was just the right conditions for the act we saw.
So, we went here for a concert not too long ago and one of my friends started feeling bad. As in she was about to faint bad. They were so attentive to her and the supervisor didn't leave her side until she confirmed she was feeling better. She did have to sign something. They then gave us a VIP area so she could sit the remainder of the night.
Enjoyed a great concert with ABBA RAMA at the Houston House of Blues. You can get pizza, chicken fingers, pretzels to eat and drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. If you wanted to be up close. They offer a standing area and you could dance. Tables were available and they had an upper section with seats. Enjoyed the Concert.
Great place to be for food or a concert an theirs also a gift shop
Great food- large portions. Wedge salad was delish!
Pretty swanky place... Brunch menu was shallow and unoriginal. Atmosphere was great and staff was accommodating.
Nice! VIP is the bomb!! Will be back
Great show, great service. We saw Black Label Society and they rocked it. Would love to come back again.
Cool place and great talent. The staff could be better informed about the venue. Water is $6
Awesome place. A good concert venue. Several bars in both first and second floor. VIP area is awesome. Also the restaurant is good.
