You know that we don't usually stop to put evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Night Club corresponds to the category of Live music venue.
There is nothing really special about the new Antone's other than the history behind the name. Bar service is pretty good, bathrooms are clean. The space in bland. The AC is barely adequate.
Great venue. Saw Talib Kweli here & it was one of the best concerts I've been to.
1 lone star (beer) bottle is the price of a 6 pack. There is also very few places to sit during a concert. Had to leave before the headliner as they dont cater to disabled people and my disability had me in a lot of pain.
Took my relatives from Hollad and they Loved it. Thanks for a great experience.
This bar/club can be summed up best as good. The DJs Friday night are good, the service is usually pretty good (it gets pretty crowded), and the floors are really good at having giant puddles of some kind of liquid.
Great venue, go on Tuesday and see the house band (no cover). Touring bands and cover charge weekends.
Free entrance and great artists!!
Had a great time here the band was really great! Would definitely recommend checking this place out.
Went here for live music from Whitey Johnson and was not disappointed - the sound was incredible and price was also very reasonable. I would love to see a packed show here sometime, as this one was a little sparse. They had a gift shop in the front with memorabilia from SRV and other legends. Cool spot, would go again.
Great sound in a classic venue. All the great blues players have been here. One more off the bucket list!
Paid with exchange rate over 40$ performer was late almost 90 mins he did a short set then took a break. Not happy
Amazing! This is a beautiful club with a rich history. We went in tonight for a drink and to see the place but stayed because of the band. (Lindsay Beaver w/ Brad Stivers & Josh Williams) They play here on Tuesdays when they are not traveling. This is one of the very best bands I've seen and I'm very picky about music. Antone's had a friendly and efficient staff. There was a shoe-shine stand and a souvenir shop too.
I think this is the best version of Antones there has been so far. Also, I like the shoeshine guy.
The most recent iteration of the illustrious Austin blues staple is cozy and fun to be sure. It has a great location and assortment of acts, lots of funk as of late. Antone's is worth the visit. However, sound leaves something to be desired here but that's normally what you get with a venue of this size. It's incomplete if you aren't withing 20 feet of the stage and overwhelming otherwise. No real happy medium. Absolutely worth the visit though, history alone warrants that.
Nice space for music, but sold out show for Samantha Fish got very crowded. Since its SRO mainly might be a little tough for some folks to deal with as it was very stuffy with not a lot of air circulation up near the stage. Made it fairly uncomfortable, even for February. But Samantha and a very young, dynamic band really brought it!!! Do Valet parking right next store at Eddy Vs. $10 -- you can't beat it.
Great place to hear the blues.
Always great live music. Valet parking right next door.
Great show by the entire line up. Nice atmosphere as well
When a good act is there, it turns into a mosh pit. I prefer to dance, not stand uncomfortably.
This rating is for the vinyl record shop next door to the club and it's snobby "vinyl record technician/specialist" or whatever they want to call themselves, who was trying to justify their obviously high sale prices because "they're all originals". And then I found several represses... "But it's because they're all collectible". Prices were marked up 50% to 500% pass market price. There was an original Meters record going for $300 here and I know I can get it online for around $60. And the final slap in the face was the hostile, senile, direct opposite of worthwhile, snobby "vinyl record technician/specialist" behind the counter. Hope whoever owns this place fires their employee/girlfriend cuz she's bad for business. PS - snobby "vinyl record technician/specialist", the original Erykah Badu record that you thought you had scored on for only $40 is actually a repress that you can purchase for about $20 something dollars online. Good luck with that tho sis
Fantastic music venue. They always have great music. It’s an Austin staple.
Love it, really. Good atmosphere and, yes, we all love the history for the decades of music and legends. But really, get some chairs and a good beer selection. I honestly get hammered at Russia House next door before I set foot inside. Regardless, the people in charge of booking talent are geniuses. I saw a brilliant kid wailing on guitar before Bob Schneider, the Bluebonnets, and every other type of Texan rock there.
Ghost hounds and Dave Grissom, put on quiet a show. Entrance fee was 7 bucks, attentive bar staff, and a good selection of beverages, an Austin old school favorite, Antone’s lives on. The crowd really seemed to enjoy the show. The drinks were modestly priced, and the acoustics were above average.
A Staple to the city, a must stop, the heart and soul of the blues in ATX
Parker Millsap sounded fantastic in here!
I'm so happy this iconic live music venue is still around and still hosting some big name acts. However, I really miss the old Antone's, when it was located next door, where Eddie V's is now. I miss seeing Cliff's face beam with pride as he welcomed patrons, introducing himself, mingleing with the crowd. RIP Clifford Antone; you are still loved and missed dearly!!
Amazing. Celebrated my 21st birthday there with Soul Man Sam and Jimmy Vaughan. If you love music with passion and soul, stop on by.
Loved the atmosphere and the intimacy of the show.
It was great! That old Austin sound.
Saw Eve Monsees and the Exiles. Great music, excellent service. Highly recommend....
Awesome! Antone's brings in the best! If jazz, funk, or R&B are your jam then this is the place for you. Get there early if you want a seat but otherwise be prepared to stand and dance the night away.
Cool dive bar to see live blues. If the act is good, I would go.
Didn't actually get to experience a show. For months I have waited patiently to see my favorite artist Alex Lahey perform. I was met with disappointment when the venue kicked us out. The bouncer thought my friend was trying to pass a fake ID who by the way just turned 21 the seventh. Very upset to say the least. For the record, both mine and my friends ID'S are not only real but %100 legal. Also on a side note, we walked into at least seven different bars just to prove a point.
First time there to see a band. Arrived early to grab a table like they told us on the phone. Come to our surprise almost all the tables ( and they dont have many) were reserved. Started a tab. My husband and I dont drink much and when he paid for the tab it was out rageous. He asked for the printed receipt which when we got home talked about it. There was a couple of different names of cocktails on the receipt which he thought I might have ordered that he didnt know about them. I was drinking vodka and Sprite so pretty sure that does not equate to a fancy drink name We are positive we were overcharged. WORD OF ADVICE: PLEASE LOOK AT THE BAR BILL BEFORE PAYING AND BE ON THE LOOK OUT OF PAYING FOR OTHER PEOPLES DRINKS. I can say the band was awesome and sounded great.
Nice place with great music. Real musical bar. Small place so amount of visitors is limited. So check schedule before you go, otherwise you'll be standing and waiting outside!
We caught Emily King there recently, did the meet and greet and love the venue! Keep supporting live music and especially this Austin gem. It's conveniently located, an easy drop off/pick up via car service a d walking distance to Stella Jacs and Eddie Vs for snacks before the show. Cheers!
Atmosphere was amazing!! I'm not really one for large crowds but I enjoyed myself
Great place to enjoy high quality live music. Deserves more square footage though...
Great intimate venue! Amazing stage views no matter where you stand. Staff is amazing CJ at the door was friendly and made me feel welcomed. The bar staff was great and the sound team was on point! Jennah Bell and Emily King, such an amazing show! Thanks for a great night!
Wether it's Masha Ball, Tje Austin, or Dave Scher this venue is Austin and to be loved.
Good place for live music. The band played jazz a fun night
Fantastic venue, we were there for a charity event upstairs. So great of Antone's to work with charities. They did a fantastic job, bartenders were excellent.
I saw Carl Weathersby here and he was fantastic. The venue is clean and staff is friendly. The bar has a small variety of craft beer and a decent booze selection. Food option is po' boys, however, there was some free pizza the night we were there. I do not know if that is a regular thing. Arrive early if you want a seat or a table as those are limited. Servers will pick up empty glassware, but you need to go the bar to get drinks. There is free water. Also, being cash for the band tip jar.
What can I say about this place that already hasn't been said. Legends have graced it with their presence. Oh... and there is a shop for tourists selling t-shirts, magnets and the like in front.
The Music. Antone's has a nice, low key vibe and the bands they book! They have excellent taste.
Cool venue. Good music. Lacking in seating and staffing. Add seating and staff & charge more $. Also, bartenders are super limited on shots beverages...
Great place to take in a show in a smaller venue
I wanted to give the sound guy a hug. It was plenty loud without being painful. My ears didnt ring the next day. Love this venue.
Needs more seating. Really hot. Increase AC or add fans. Drinks really expensive and small. Joe Ely = fabulous.
New Years eve was fun. Great Band... The Black Pumas. Reasonable drink prices. On 5th street in the heart of Austin's nightclub quarter.
My best friend and I went to Antone's for my birthday to see Lavelle White, a 92(?) year old singer. She was fantastic, the staff was truly great, and we had a wonderful time. The cost to see Lavelle and two others was $10.
Arriving early is key. Place is clean and good vibes.
First time there. So much fun. Watching the Zydeco bands.
Ban in Austin for years fantastic blues
One of the best places for live music in Austin. Great center-floor sound. Bar has great choices for drinks and beer.
Antone's was great: Generous space, that is laid out well for live music - I was there for SXSW and I appreciated that I did not need to insert earplugs as the house levels were tolerable, unlike many of the venues that I went to - part of that is because the venue is large enough for a proper band - the engineer is not competing with high stage volumes from drums and monitors - and in this instance which is no one's fault but sxsw programming/scheduling dept, they actually didn't program a punk band literally on the other side of the wall at the same time.... Sorry had to get in my sxsw what were they thinking complaint... So all in all
I have been to every iteration of Antone's since it was across from the record store on Guadalupe, and this one is my favorite. The bar has an impressive selection, which I did not expect. The staff were cool cats and I would go back just to hang out at their bar. I was pleased at how good the view from several different places in the bar were, even for a shortie like me. Totally dig it.
Went full circle watching CJ Chenier at Antone's, celebrating 40 years of playing there, whose father Clifton was the very first performer at the very first location of the club. You already know of the legend...now go support some of the finest that Austin has to offer. The record store and club are indespensible and inimitable. Real deal music fans and players.
My nephews played there Friday night great venue but the drinks are too expensive
Great place for music. Acoustics were a bit off and the ac maybe needed to be turned down a bit more- but Reckless kelly was awesomeness! Drinks were good! No table service, so you run the risk of losing your table.
The home of the Blues! What more do you need? Always a great time at Antone's and great staff to boot. Good people make it all worthwhile.
Neat, intimate little place...great set up for stand up.
I saw Samantha Fish there tonight. She is amazingly talented. This is a great place to go
Maybe the biggest name in local live music in Austin. I realize this is highly debateable and subjective. Has changed locations several times. Sound system is the subject of a lot of debate with my friends. Right next to the sound booth is great, along the right wall (while facing the stage) is also great. Everywhere else is still good, just not great. One2One has spoiled me with the badass sound system or maybe its the sound guy, whatever, not a spot in One2One that doesn't sound awesome. Go to Antone's. The Austin don't miss venue if ever there was one!
Antone's Nightclub is always a must see music venue when visiting Austin, Texas. It reminds me of Bunkers in Minneapolis. You never knew who would show up to perform... For Antone's always looking for Austin's very own Gary Clark Jr. to walk through the doors.
Great music. Great beer selection. Good $$ value. Would highly recommend.
Love the music but expect watered down drinks.
I had one night to explore downtown Austin while on a work trip. We made it to Sixth Street for the night life. As a music lover, I was excited to see some live performances. Walking by Antone's, a generous benefactor provided me and my companion with tickets to the show to see Tameca Jones with Sam Houston. Thank you, friend, whoever you are, for giving me this awesome experience. It was truly amazing! The venue was intimate and the sound was great. The artists were top-notch. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The crowd was connected. It was exactly what you'd hope to find in the live music capital of the world. I will be back to Austin and to Antone's.
just a great place to appreciate blues musicians who work so far hard at the passion they love. Thank you to them for their talent and passion.
Courteous staff both front & bar, good acoustics, clean bathroom. Could've been easy to spot security
I have been to three different antones over the years in Austin. This one is by far the smallest, but that isn't necessarily bad. Smaller venues allow for more intimate shows. I have seen a few bands play here and like it. If there was a complaint, it would be that air circulation is not great. But it's not awful. Any large crowd of people watching music typically gets a little warm. You should plan to stand at the show, there is very little seating. Hasn't been an issue for me, but if that's a concern keep it in mind.
Asked a cabbie what bar was the place to go for the Blues in Austin. Told me Antone’s was were to go! Finished a awesome dinner then headed over. Got there and the band playing wasn’t playing the blues. Asked are they the band? We were told no. Another band was on next. So we paid the $17 each cover charge only to find out the next band was not the Blues. Asked if we could get cover back we were refused. Fair enough I guess. Paid for a round of drinks & friend put his drink down on the bar to go for a smoke. While my back was turned the bartender took his drink away. When we took it up with Mark at the door he became belligerent and threatened to call the cops. Worst customer service I’ve ever seen!!
Enjoyed a great concert experience at Antone's in Austin. Small, cozy, intimate venue that provides for a great listening experience and an opportunity to engage with the artists. Sound quality was great. Drinks were good. All in all worth a visit.
Probably one of the best venues around to enjoy and get fully committed with the band you're watching. 10/10 place
We saw Carl Weathersby on a Monday night and were treated to some smokin hot blues! Excellent! Like others before me, my only complaint was the nonstop buzzing from the sound system that WAS pretty annoying.
Antone's Nightclub has been on my bucket list for a LONG time. I finally made it to Austin's Home of the Blues! Great people at a legendary club. Rest In Peace Clifford Antone. Peace, Roger Lyle, Needmore, PA.
Home of the Blues! Fantastic gigs!
Saw Circles around the sun. Clean venue, nice sound.
Two dollar lonestars and no cover on Tuesdays. The bartending is excellent. Cool vintage posters on the wall, I can't get enough of Bobby blue bland. The music is pretty rad as well, and the bathrooms are clean and well lit. Check out this place for a tidy version of classic Austin
Good live music. Was told it was the house band. Less than 2 songs in we were approached by some older gentleman who wouldn’t leave us alone about a tip even after we politely said we just got there and weren’t ready yet. Before we walked in, we gave a homeless man all the cash we had and needed a moment to think through the situation that had just happened. We’ve definitely supported Austin in all aspects during our vacation and didn’t expect to or appreciate being pressured in that way. Too many other great places in Austin for live music :)
Great little venue! Some world shattering jams have been performed here. OG blues
I have loved almost every time I go to Antone's no matter where they're actually physically located or which venue they actually are at that time all the bands are great and wonderful.
Love the atmosphere of this venue. Always a great time.
I really enjoyed this place. I love the atmosphere and the music. Wear good shoes. My back still hurts from having to stand.
Wow. Great sound. What history. Check it out
Drinks are on point, good place to see music
Short visit but great music Thursday night!
Cool bar for live music and good drinks!
Went during SXSW to listen to a few groups play. well organized and a comfy little place to listen to music
Carl Weathersby was phenomenal! Great show where we could really listen and relax.
What an awesome live music venue. Dark, air conditioned, great sound and reasonable drink prices. We saw Walker Lukens, I'm sorry I waited so long to see him live. It was a fantastic show. There is a small record store at the entrance to the club with a limited but awesome collection of vinyl and cassettes, t-shirts, etc. All in all a great blues club.
Extremely cool place, loved the show, the aesthetic, the drinks are fair priced and the atmosphere is extremely chill, loved the night I got to spend here
Loved the atmosphere and the entertainment. And the drinks were on point.
Historic music venue downtown Austin. Many a great musician have played here.
Super nice place. Bar staff great and friendly. Special margarita was awesome!
Intimate venue for good blues.
It's a nice music venue but it gets really hot in there when it's at capacity. The sound is great drinks are good for the price.
First time seeing PJ Morton Live. Very up close and personal set. Great Time!
