You will see the opinions of people who are using the products and services of The 5 Spot (Night Club) in Tennessee.
At present the firm gets a score of 4.5 out of 5 and that score has been calculated on 246 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is nearly the highest, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the score is very credible. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are pleased, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to put reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Night Club is included in the category of Live music venue.
Jason helped me out during a really difficult time. I am a rare Nashville native and I've live here all my life. I was followed by a group of men from three crow when I tried to go back to my car. I immediately did a full circle down the alley of five points directly to five spot because I knew it was ladies night. I informed the front doorman that a man was following me and ducked in. Then, I bought a beer and made a beeline for the patio where I sat watching my back frantically for five minutes. Then, Jason approached me and made me feel comforted in the situation and sat with me until closing. I informed him I had probably waited out the guys and wouldn't need assistance to my car. Unfortunately, the men who three hours prior had targeted a woman alone were waiting outside of the venue they had observed me going into. They were waiting for me and immediately called out to me the moment I stepped out the door at 3 am. I was terrified. I've NEVER had such a scary thing happen to me in all my years in Nashville. When I came up to the back gate at 3 am, Jason immediately let me in and when I told him they had waited for me, he put together a posse of three men to escort me to my car two blocks away. I am so grateful that there are decent people in Nashville who will not tolerate a woman being harassed. Forever grateful, love you guys!
This place is pretty cool, and I would definitely go back. My husband and I heard a band (Early Jones) play two songs at a show we went to. At the show, they announced their next concert was at 5 Spot. We both agreed they were amazing and immediately planned to attend the show. The listing on the event page stated there were three bands performing starting at 9pm. Knowing the band was amazing, we figured they would be headlining or at the least would be the middle band. We arrived after 9 to (of course) find them almost finished with their set. We still got to hear the last few songs, so I’m so happy we got there in time. What’s weird is that the crowd dwindled after the first band left the stage and pretty much cleared out by the time the last band went on stage. It makes me wonder if things are always done backwards there (which would be dumb because if early jones would have been the last band, everyone would have been there spending money until they were finished close to 1 instead of everyone leaving at 10pm) or if we went on a weird night. Either way, service was good. We got drinks right away, even when we first walked in when the place was packed. They have a food area and outdoor bar/smoking area. On a side note, you can dress down as much as you want. There are men in tank tops here. I was sitting by my husband at the bar with my handbag in my lap, and I made a joke about hiding the label on my purse to try to fit in. My husband looked me up and down and said, “That is the most UN-Rachel-like thing I’ve ever heard. You’ve never cared about fitting in, and if you’re serious, I’m walking out the door because this isn’t the woman I married.” I know that side story has nothing to do with the service or atmosphere, but it’s great to know that there’s literally no person at 5 Spot who is under or over dressed. Some folks looked like they were fresh out of a canoe while you had a few here and there who looked ready to hop into a club.
Ok
Really cool chill place with good music
For me it just didn't live up to the hype.
Consider myself a local, love to dance, and this is my #1 place to get my dance on during the week! Motown Monday is the night to go! Party starts around 8, after 9($5 cover), and @ 10:30 it gets hoping! 3 A.M. is when it stops. Local crowd here, most people are young professionals in their mid 20's. Alcohol is average, but the atmosphere makes up for it! Believe me when I say, there is nothing else like this place in town! Truly original! DJ plays 1920's, 30's, 40's, and 50's music and everything in here is decked out to fit the part! Outside seating for groups and bar. Where something light if you plan to dance and have a great time!
Really cool spot. Not for the faint of heart thought if your not a rock/music fan don’t waste your time. This place is about the music. Not about your bachelor party. If you’ve got a few people who put usher above David Bowie head to broadway I stead and save yourself the Aggrivation. If you like real Live music. You’ll love this place.
Waited 10 minutes at the bar and still did not get served. Worst place I have ever been. Do not go there.
Genuine Nashville
Cover was $20 it was too expensive.
Very good music venue.
Cuban-style beans and rice was awesome!
Great music, seating is limited.
You are amazing!!! I lost my wallet here on Christmas Eve and they graciously mailed it to me (I’m from Tampa Florida)... Thank you so much!!!
Cute little to dive bar. Music was good.
Get out there and see it live! What a great spot to have a drink and catch some great bands. I'll be back for sure!
Motown Mondays are amazing. Everyone is up dancing and having a great time. There is a wide selection of inexpensive drinks and plenty of parking.
Was looking forward to some dancing and good drinks instead the bar was dead and the bartender was extremely rude! Will never be back and will not recommend it to anyone.
Was there, for the 1st time, rooting on my nephews(i.e. Willie Pearl) for Battle of the Bands. Was Soooo proud of them and hope the best for their upcoming release. Thanks Lightning 100.1 for this well attended event !
Great live music!!
Chill!
Nice small bar venue to pay a small cover and see some live music.
This is a must if your in Nashville on a Monday night, awesome Motown dance music, amazing dj, great crowd, get ready to dance!!! We had so much fun!!!
Thanks for staying so true over the years! MoTown Monday’s have always been my favorites. Fair drink specials and a fun crowd almost always. Sometimes there is a cover so bring cash.
Sound is always solid here
Awesome place to see original live music with a great beer selelction.
Music wasn't any good
Cozy, cool East Nashville live music venue... highly recommend.
Small spot but favorite spot in east Nashville to see local acts. Sounds is really good. Nice grub, lots of beers.
Always a good time. I enjoy shows at this bar pretty good.
a great place for friends and a friend to meet friends
Love me Some Motown Monday!
Just walking around looking for someplace to hear some music in East Nashville. Walked in here and heard some of the best music around. Great atmosphere grill local bar.
Good music,
A favorite of mine at least once a month for SoulSunday, hosted by the limitless talent Jason Eskridge. His band and his carefully chosen guest artists are an unparalleled example of what makes Nashville great (and not just for Country Music) !
Great place.
Motown Mondays is the best place in town for old-school dancing.
Great place to dance
Great place! Great music, fair prices on booze, beautiful mix of people. If you are looking for a dance club that isn't hot, crowded and sweaty, please don't go here.
Stopped in for the Friday happy. Great tunes from Tim Carroll. Good beer at great prices. Nic crowd. I'll be back.
Great place to enjoy live music. One of the best places in East Nashville
Great bar for a drink and some live music.
A really fun local bar. It's a dive bar which is my favorite: nice people and cheap strong drinks. They have live local bands. We loved the music. Fun fact: Lady Gaga started her Dive Bar tour here in 2016. This is a great taste of Nashville away from the hustle and bustle of Broadway Street. Take some cash. There's a five dollar cover. (Thus the name - get it?
Such a fun atmosphere!! Everyone was having blast dancing to the good old oldies! Cheap drinks and no country music. Definitely the best spot to go to on a Monday when you’ve had enough country music.
Recommended by a few kindly locals as a place for drinks and live music. Great recommendation! The sound quality here is fantastic and the young ladies running the audio/video equipment kept everything rocking all night long! Beer selection is pretty impressive and the standard bar food offering has a little twist to it... order at the bar... pick up out back! Fun times =D
Monday night is Motown night. Extremely fun.
Anti free speech - a bunch of customers got kicked out for simply their political APPARELL. On top of that barkeep forced his views on everyone else in a silly rant. Not what any of us came for. Personlly agreed with employee to an extent but this and how handled was completely inappropriate, rude an bad for business but we know they dont care. Sadly were resigning the 5 spot from our hangouts. Be careful in here guys it's not safe if they disagree with your (silent) opinion . Total buzz kill , expected more from these dudes
Invited out with a friend to a Funky Good Time event. First time experiencing this type of music and crowd(DJ spinning and drummer, with someone hyping on the mic) , but I really enjoyed it. There is a covered outside area for smokers, etc., and a few seats/tall tops, & drinks were $5...what else really matters, lol.
One of my favorite bars in town
The bartender was very nice. Band was good.
Great atmosphere, drinks & music.
Awesome
Great time off the beaten path away from tourists. Sit back, relax, enjoy music, locals, and great prices on drinks. Cheers!
Location alone I give it a one or below. Very dissatisfied. Could not give me a credit. Bad business.
Great atmosphere & music. $2 Tuesdays are terrific value!
Proper locals bar, with emerging local artists and musicians. Saw some very cool bands there. Community club vibe. Friendly and a little divey in a good way.
I went for QDP - my first time at the 5 spot. Lots of beautiful queer people having tons of fun and dancing. After some convincing I finally got on the dance floor and it was a blast- great no judgment zone. Very, very, very uncomfortably crowded at times because the place is so popular. A lot of the customers are rude but that isn't the fault of the 5 spot! I waited to place an order for drinks for approx. 15 minutes because other customers kept shoving their way in front of me! Otherwise, tons of fun.
Best Motown music in town! It was like being in the movie Dirty Dancing.
There's usually a cover, but it's usually just $5 and almost always worth it. I got to see Wanda Jackson play a secret show here—that's the kind of place this is.
Perfect rock club. Great sound, great staff, great beer.
Great ambiance. Felt like everyone there was a friend of mine.
Motown Mondays are where it's at. This is a great venue with a cozy atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks (for Nashville) that isn't trying too hard to be trendy (like most places in Nashville). They host a variety of events throughout the week that appeal to an even wider array of demographics, making it not only diverse, but also just a lot of fun on any given evening.
Art abounds.
The Boom Bap Live every 4th Saturday is the place to be!!!! Always a rockin' set with the BEST DJs ever!!!!!!!!! Shakes is the man!!!
I went to the 5 Spot last night (6/05/2019) and I'm still trying to get warm! It was freezing! I requested that they make it warmer and nothing! Luckily I had a sweater in the car, but I felt bad for everyone else, especially some elderly folks who were really cold. The music may have been good...I couldn't tell. It was so loud that it sounded distorted. This room potentially has great sound, so I recommend checking it out. They do get some great bands.
Loved the live concerts and the tuesdsay special for $2 beers. Can get pretty packed
Cool place
Immense selection of bottled and canned beers, really cool environment.
Great music.
I didnt realize how small this place was .. but that isnt always a bad thing
Small, quaint place
Soulful Sunday. Motown Monday. Friday happy hour has good weekly music as well.
Sunday Night Soul! EVERY 2nd AND 4th SUNDAY OF THE MONTH!!! Drink specials are great too!
Awesome place to dance on Motown Monday
Amazing entertainment I really enjoyed myself
Always good times and great live music!
Great local live music spot
It's a great spot in Nashville. Sorry, if you like to pay high prices for drinks at the Broadway, yes do it. If you like good music and fair prices come to the Five Points or better to The 5 Spot.
Always a good time awesome talent and a great sound system
Make sure you're high as all get out before you visit this joint. It's quite funky!
Phenomenal group of local artists with different styles and unique voices. The drinks were well made and the food from outside seemed outstanding! There is a cover here of $5, but I'd say it is worth it with the caliber of talent and the dope atmosphere
I LOVE THIS PLACE. This is the location that truly encompasses all that Nashville is. I LOVE IT
Lots of good local music
Awesome place
If you have been here you know exactly how "at home" this venue makes you feel when you there. Staff are hardworking, and there is always a great event going on there like Motown Mondays!
Good atmosphere, good music from small time bands, and pretty decent prices great place for a night out all around.
Motown Mondays!
Wonderful place to hear live music from some of Nashville's top local artist!
The best East Nashville music venue!
Cool hipster spot. Great Music rotation in the last few weeks weve been in Nashville. Crowds "low key" tres chic and can be pretty cliquey if you dont have a vintage outfit with circa 1967 dripping flower prints, or bullring in your nose for femalez. However, if you are into birdseed machiatto Cold pressed blueberry can beer you are in for a treat. They have probable 600 variants on that theme liqour ir otherwise. Taco truck looks like it crashed into the building and just got absorbed by the black hole of band shirts circling the interior ;) Cheers!
Love the music outside on patio
I went here for a comedy show. Nice non-smoking bar with a small stage and good sound system. Great location rightin East Nashville. Was perfect for a local comedy show. I look forward to going back to listen to some music or to see another comedy show.
Horrible... for us it was the worst mistreatment in the United States. my wife and I are ballroom and swing dancers and we travel all of the United States and have danced from coast to host for years, danced at multiple style venues and enjoy the company of people and created many many friends, but our visit to this establishment ended abruptly due to rudeness, arrogance and belittling buy both the staff along with the check in person at the door, we also informed a few patrons that were going in of our mistreatment and ask them to inform the owners that potentially new customers left very dissatisfied, this happened on Monday July 24th 2017. We could not speculate that this was the norm but it was the experience for us.
This place is amazing!
Great live music and laid back atmosphere. Good selections at the bar and all reasonably priced.
Very cool, inexpensive spot in East Nashville. Definitely a local hangout. 5 dollar cash cover at the door and then the beer is pretty favorably priced, with most draughts being 5 bucks or so. The reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because it wasn't totally my scene, and its definitely a slightly more hip/indie spot to hang out. That said, the staff was polite and the prices were favorable so if you consider yourself a bit of a hipster definitely check this place out. (Also, it's possible we just showed up on a night where they happened to have a more indie band than usual, so take that with a grain of salt)
Great band, cheap beer.
Great live music and solid bar selection.
Motown Mondays are the best! Cheap drinks, $5 cash cover, and good music. Great crowd of people coming together to dance; prepare to sweat.
#motownmondays...enough said!
Great sound guy, cheap drinks, clean bathroom.
Always a good time. It is what it is and that is perfect. Love catching shows here.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I used to come here often and im surprised at how I spent my night. It was an OKAY night, but due to the expected weather the small crowd is expected. I was charged 26 dollars for 2 shots. NEVER HAVE I EVER! Absolutely ridiculous... but I most likely won't be back.
What a great place! We went for the happy hour. No cover, fun music (and good sound), cool bartenders, good beer selection. And since it was happy hour, we were drinking Yazoo Hop Perfect for $2.50 a pint. It's a dive, but in all the best ways.
Great staff and atmosphere!
I've been to 5 spot each time I'm in town for $2 Tues, love this place and they have a great outdoor patio
Great staff always have a good time
Great music.
If you like punk, hardcore bands
Great Motwon Mondays!
Amazingly fun bar with great music we enjoyed seeing Tim Carroll on Friday night happy hour and then went back for motown Monday to dance. Highly recommended
Motown Mondays are a Nashville must. One of the best places to party on a weekday according to GQ magazine. Swing dancing til about 10pm, then it's open floor spinning Motown classics Very good drinks specials. $2 Tuesdays are also really good as well. Lotta local artists that pop in. Very intimate setting to watch a show. Their patio is pretty big. You can order food out there. Have yet to try it. If you ain't dancing in here, you ain't living. Be prepared to sweat.
We vacationed in Nashville this summer. We found the 5Spot on our second night in town. It was $2 Tuesday. After a short wait we grabbed 2 comfy stools at the bar. The bartenders were excellent. Quick, attentive, and knowledgeable about their huge selection of booze. The mixed drinks were heavy, generous pours. We went back on Friday for a $5 cover and another great show. We managed to grab the same great seats. On Sunday we went there for the SoulSunday. The cover was $10, but by now we knew it would be worth it. We were not disappointed. The music was absolutely the best. We managed to get ‘our spot’ at the bar. This place is a must experience!
Best place to dance in east Nashville
Great live music and drinks!
Great music amazing atmosphere love it
One of my favorite spots in Nashville. Sunday Night Soul is some of the best live music in the city!
Monday night, the place is taken over by swing dancers for a DJ'd mix of Motown and rockabilly. The dance floor is packed and the place gets hopping around 9. If you get there before 9, there is no cover, but the party doesn't really get started until later. The swing dancers are usually done by about 10:30, but the dancing doesn't stop until late. Edit: 7/2019. Bumping this a star. If anything, it has gotten better since I started coming here.
GAGA
Best night in Nashville!
If you want to dance to some old music this is the place. I love motown Mondays and soul sunday. Honestly come through drink or what ever just dance.
Great neighborhood bar with live music.
Motown Monday, while crowded, is awesome. Hard to get a drink though when it's packed.
Fantastic dinner and great service
You want great local music? Go here for reliable quality and sound. Whether you're visiting and want to feel like a local or if you actually are a local, go to $2 Tuesday. Every Tuesday 9-11ish, East Nashville's Derek Hoke (check out his music on Spotify) hosts a carefully arranged line-up of acts. Local DJ Tim Hibbs spins a theme of 45's while acts are changing out on stage. $2 cover, $2 Yazoo draft beers, and $2 tacos from the Ahi food truck on the back patio. It really doesn't get much better. Other nights may find Sunday Soul with some of the grooviest cats in town filling you up with good feels; Tim Carroll's Friday night rock 'n' roll happy hour residency; great local acts playing home-based shows between tours; All vinyl dance parties; and in general happy vibes and good conversation.
Great place
It's been awhile since I've been here dancing with my honey but we really truly loved it it was outstanding
Great dive bar with lots of good local music and DJs. Plan for a cover charge on a weekend night.
Incredible music
Great local music with local beers. Can't go wrong
Great music/vibe
I went to both Jason Ringenberg shows on Thursday nights February 21st, & 28th. The planet's preeminent globe trotting punk rocking troubadour did not disappoint, and is about to embark upon a short UK tour. Catch him if you can !!!!!
fabulous. a must go to and see!!
We went Sunday night to hear Heath Haynes' cover band. It was perfect: great music in a divey sort of atmosphere -- exactly what we wanted out of the place. There was no cover charge, and our drinks averaged $5 a piece (beer and whiskey). If you like hearing Waylon Jennings, the Allman Brothers, Elvis, etc., Heath and his band are your fellows.
My "cheers" bar. Don't miss Sunday Night Soul!!!
If you're looking for that local "dive bar" feel, this is the place. If you're there to watch the bands, it's up close and personal. This feels like a local hangout, definitely a place you can just relax and have some drinks with friends. Stopped in for the Americana music festival with Tim Easton. We got there early and stayed a few hours. Decent beer selection and they have food, but we didn't get a chance to test the menu. Service was fast and friendly. They only take Visa and MasterCard for credit payments(there was a woman trying to pay with AMEX when we came in and I overheard/eavesdropped). I can only ding them slightly on the bathroom, had to hold the stall shut because the slide locks were missing, but I have been in worse.
5 stands for the temperature inside, which tonight was a bout 50 degrees. Even though we asked them to turn the A/C down, they didn't. The sound volume was ridiculous. I'm a musician and I couldn't handle the loudness.
Decent bar with live music and friendly staff. Although I missed it the last time I was there, this is the standard location of a monthly dance party called QDP - Queer Dance Party. Always a fun and safe time!
Not what I was expecting
Best kept secret
Simple bar, good music
Very cool patio
Great place to see local and visiting bands. Large size venue. Right by 5 points and multiple bars and restaurants. Close to downtown Nashville
Mo town mondays
