Brought my girlfriend here for the New year's Eve party and had a good time. It was run a bit unprofessionally though. The coat check just consisted of a rack with self service. The party was black and white formal attire but there were about 20% of the people walking around wearing plaid shirts and "urban" attire. The bathrooms were extremely dirty with urine all over the men's room floor and my gf said all the toilets in the women's room were very dirty with some clogged. Not a terrible experience but we will probably not go back.

My husband and I visited whiskey republic for Halloween (the Saturday before). It was $10 each to get in and we weren't impressed with the music, atmosphere, drinks, or anything about the place. It was just ok. We had been to 3 other bars before arriving here, none of which cost anything and all of which we had a better time at. So, we each had one drink here and ubered home! It just wasn't our scene.

I’m from NH where there is lack of a good party scene, I came here with a bachelor party and got kicked out for literally NOTHING, the bouncers didn’t even have an answer for me. Absolute waste of time and money, will never come back and will make a point to tell people not to come here if they want to have fun. Had a blast at first and got kicked out for nothing, have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life. The biggest joke of a “business” I’ve ever witnessed.

I would give them zero stars if I could. Very busy night, waited 45 minutes for a drink, gave my friend cash so she could put our drinks on her card to save time. Once she paid she asked me what to tip and I said nothing- she's making enough in tips and we waited 45 minutes. Bar tender heard me and took my drinks and dumped them on the floor, after charging us for them. Asked if I had a problem with her and continued to curse at me. What a classless and unprofessional bar.

I lost my cards here and called three times within a week, was brought to voicemail every time, and still haven’t heard back after leaving messages. There’s no point in having a “speak to manager” or “contact lost and found” option if you never pick up the phone. Incredibly unprofessional and frustrating. Definitely will not be going back.

Bartenders are extremely rude and if you try to express you’re unhappy with your service, they kick you out. No coat room just a rack for self service. I hung up my jacket and the rack fell on top of me. Two employees stood two feet away from me and watched me struggle, trying to get the coat rack to stand back up. Went to watch the Stanley Cup Final. Waited a very long time for mediocre food and beer that was warm. Music was so loud we could hardly talk. One of our party didn't get their meal at all and had to reorder the food. They were out of half the beers on the list. Out of the many bars in Providence, we will not choose this one again.

Don't do it. There are 6-7 other places to eat and drink within a block or two from Whiskey Republic. Despite the great location on the waterfront, this is hands down, THE WORST place to eat on the East Side of Providence, possibly the worst place in Rhode Island, maybe the USA? We went in on a sunny Sunday afternoon for lunch and a beer, the place was pretty much dead which should have been a warning sign. When we entered we were not acknowledged at all. We then proceeded to the outdoor area where the manager said to go outside and flag down a server. Too much work to notify a server of our arrival? After about 10 minutes we were acknowledged and given menus and informed about the lack of beer due to the taps being broken. All the taps were not working and they had only 4 crappy beers in bottles to choose from. I could have looked past this if the service and food were good, but no such luck. I ordered a pulled work sandwich - HUGE mistake. While we waited for our food, the servers hung out around a table eating their own food while playing with their phones. 45 minutes after ordering I was presented with a hard, stale, possibly microwaved bun, and what looked like canned, watery, orange-tinted slop. One bite was more than enough. It tasted like 10 year old Chef Boyardee on a bed of styrofoam. Seriously, the worst sandwich ever. The fries were even badly cooked, hard in the middle, stale on the edges. NOT ONCE did our server ask me how the food was, even though my meal sat at the edge of the table untouched. My friend ordered 10 wings, 5 parmesan and 5 buffalo. She received 10 parmesan wings and 10 buffalo. Since my sandwich was inedible, and she got twice as much as what she asked for, I had some of her food which was ok, but the buffalo sauce was more like a candy sauce - far from "buffalo". When we asked for the bill, the server grabbed my full plate and the rest of the wings without once questioning if the food was good. 1 beer, 1 mixed drink, 10 wings and a piece of cardboard and we were given a $50 check. It is a miracle this place is still open. The service is horrid and the food isn't fit for human consumption.

I went on June 5th with my wife and friends. The bill was around $120 so we split the bill three ways. The waiter took it upon her self to take the cash for her tip which was $70 and charged my friends credit card for the whole bill! I highly recommend staying away from here!

My son went to this club and took his primary identification because they “felt” it was not him .. when in fact it was ! Unfortunately he did not have another I’d with him that night , he went there the next day with other forms of ID and was told they would talk to the “security team” to find it and will be in touch with him. After several calls to Steve , Charles and the “managers” on The I’d is no where to be found? Is this even legal? I will find out because someone from that club has his ID which I feel is a threat to his privacy? Rude and unprofessional handling of this situation by “so called” management

I'm discouraging anyone and everyone from giving Whiskey Republic in Providence RI any type of business. Last night I had an employee knock a drink out of my hand and be incredibly rude to me. He assumed that I had not payed for my entry and began harassing me and ultimately knocked the drink that I had paid for from my hand. I'm insulted not only because I had entered prior to the need for any hand stamp and I not only paid for my drinks but tipped generously... I get it they didn't know me from anyone who walked in off of the street but there was not even an attempt to figure out what was going on on the employee's part. Nor was there any effort given on the manager's part. I have never, in my 31 years been accosted like this but I have now, and I wish I could go back and not have to deal with this....

Bouncer was more concerned with posturing and being the self-proclaimed "Best Bouncer in the State" instead of being a professional. Will not be back.

DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged when we sat down...nobody in the place. Place stank of dirty beer or pee. Finally got our food...hard as a rock french fries and a burger...I think not...it was a breadcrumb sandwich no beef! Sent the food back still charged us for sodas no kind of apology! NEVER again so unprofessional...and please don't get me started on the FILTHY bathrooms....Board of heath needs to be called. This place is a total disgrace!

I've been going here for trivia for a few years now and recently the service has gotten really bad. My group is routinely neglected for the first 15-30 minutes and we rarely get our food within an hour of arriving. The wait staff is inattentive and sometimes just downright rude. We had a regular waitress who was excellent, but she was frequently put in charge of all of the the indoor patrons and quit. The deck is really nice, the food is pretty good and they have a decent drink selection, but the poor service far out weighs the pros. I've never felt compelled to go out of my way to write a negative review, but the whiskey republic has earned it.

Located in a great location with other places close by in walking distance as in next door distance. Whiskey is great because it's on the water so you get a long line of good seats. The bar is a big u shape. The bartenders were really attentive for being busy. Also the food is quick. Nothing special just typical items. Cool place to stop by during certain times... But the soup of the day is whiskey so cool to stop by any time lol. I just want to say I give this place the 4th star because it's a great alternative to hot club when it's over packed.

The place sits right on the water and walking distance less than 1 mile to hilton hotel garden in when you want to make the nightly stroll and drunken dial people that you probably know they are sleeping but you just have to bother people and then you realize your out of numbers so you start listening to podcasts about things. Things that do not make any sense at all. Oh I'm at the hotel good night.

This came recommended, but sadly my experience was like so many others who have rated it. Crazy how a place can forget why it's in business. Went in - sat down - waited 10 minutes with no help. And it wasn't busy at all. Employees milling around. Went to the bar and got someone's attention to tell them I was waiting. Waited 15 more minutes with no service. Left.

We went out to grab lunch and we were the only ones there. Granted we were a group of 12+ people, it shouldn't have taken them over an hour to serve us food. I ordered a veggie burger which was alright but the fries we ordered had no flavor. Although the waitress was nice, it did not compensate for the delay in food. Our lunch ended up becoming an early dinner.

The menu online was not what they were serving and when we asked about it the server said I don't know. Plus a place with the name Whiskey anything should have a main focus on whiskey, this place only had 1 whiskey cocktail and nothing special in the whiskey list either, just the standard names you see at every liquor store.

They discriminate! We were let into the bar. They took out money... nothing was said to us. All of a sudden we are approached by 2 of the workers there. One a bouncer and one the manager. We were told our friend’s outfit was “ inappropriate”. My friend is gay. He was wearing a more “feminine” outfit and they did not like that. They put his hand on him when he refused to change his outfit and kicked him out. They claim to have a “dress code” but where are those terms on your website? Oh... nowhere! I asked what would happen if I, as a girl wore the outfit and was told it wouldn’t be a problem because i am a girl. I don’t understand how that makes sense. It’s just homophobic and rude. I will not be going back and I urge others not to come back either. It’s not worth your money or time. This hasn’t been an issue at other bars. It’s ridiculous and I am appalled... you should be ashamed to run your establishment in this way.

This is a great place to hang out during nice weather. I wouldn't order a burger here though. They cut the beef with egg there was no flavor, how I know this was there was a piece of eggshell in my sandwich. The barmaid did take it off the bill, but when she went in the back to address it chef in the kitchen they literally laughed out loud! Just unprofessional behavior. I would go back, no rush!DON'T ORDER THE BURGER!!!

Not sure why Providence doesn't have any good waterfront dining (possible exception of waterman grille), but as much as I want this place to be a decent option for eating on the water, it is not. The food is terrible. Music was pretty awful too, which kind of killed the atmosphere as we sat outside on a beautiful Friday night. I really wish this place was better.

This place is a good time, i had fun although i went with a large group. This place was not crowded most likely because there are very few parking areas in the area. Good for smokers as they have a covered patio, and the drinks were decently strong, although i do believe they add 2 dollars if u pay with card. Decent place worth going once in a while.
