This place always brings great comedians in! Always a great time. However it reminds me of a large basement. The seating is very tight and cozy which makes the place heat up pretty quickly...make sure you smell fresh and get there early.

Great comedy spot. Lot's of parking lots near by. Expect to pay close to 20 dollars or more for parking. Food was good but pricey. Very fun

Love the mix of shows here. Well organized and welcoming. My only gripe is the setup of tables for general admission. If you like personal space, pay the extra money to get some elbow room.

The Entertainment that night was amazing but we were packed in like sardines. I could barely see the comedian because of to many ppl in front of definitely need to rearrange the seating Food prices are ridiculous but hey live & learn. Brian Posehn was awesome. The 7:30 pm she was sold out.

It was my first time visiting The helium comedy club in downtown Philly I took my wife on a surprise date to see Ryan Davis something that we have never done before and needless to say it was a great experience I didn't know what to expect because it was a first but we weren't disappointed it was a fun experience surprisingly the food fair was good we we're impressed in addition to having great seats up front near the stage and we had a lot of laughs which was the objective of this date something we hadn't done before we're definitely looking forward to another visit at some point

I attended a show a few weeks ago and was alarmed at how aggressive the ticket checkers were. I understand that crowd control is difficult, but there's no reason to yell at people and there's no reason to make the initial environment hostile. If I had to work with this individual, I'd probably quit. Before the show started I stood up to use the restroom and was scolded for trying to exit through the wrong door. I'm just saying that being nice and jolly in a comedy club can go a long way.

We went to see comedian Shuler King and had a fun laughing our butts off as we ate and drink. My dessert was delicious but I wasn't happy at all with my cocktail. But overall I enjoyed laughing and will go back.

We really enjoyed helium. The talent was awesome but since that comes and goes, what really matters is the staff. The girl at the ticket desk, Amanda m, was so sweet and helpful. Our server, shay, was overworked but so sweet and attentive. We will be back soon.

I like this place. Small, crowded, as the comedian put it, a fire trap. Host and headliner were great. The third guy was not so funny. They serve alcohol, and although I've never had any, the food seems to be a welcome treat. They have some great acts there and the price is not too bad. I think our tickets were $25 each. I guess it depends on who's performing.

One of the best places in Philly to catch a standup set. 2 drink minimum but that's everywhere you go. Only. Complaint is the bathroom gets crowded after the show let's out but who cares learn to hold your bladder like an adult. Great location so you can go to a bar after or walk around the shops

Was recommended this place after I had already booked it for a specific comedian! Well worth it, prices are fair, fantastic service. Will say, the bar/lounge/waiting area doesn't have much seating, and there is not "designated" start to line up, but they kept the crowd in order with clear instructions and regulated safety precautions. Staff were friendly, and our server, Christian, was so kind. Came up almost immediately after we were assigned our seats, and was attentive throughout the act. Next time, gonna reserve our seats though! Those reserved seats are probably not one foot from stage! Loved it.

Amanda at the front was very helpful and informative. The bar was packed but we got our drinks fast and they were great. We were seated quickly and oyr waitress shay was friendly and super helpful. Great food, amazing show, highly recommend this club!

Eh. Club seating is suspect. Not sure the "VIP" ticket is a smart choice. The seating feels random. Checkin staff is very matter of fact about everything. If Gary Owen wasn't so dang funny I would give only 2 stars. The lineup at the club is improving but I prefer Punchline.

First time here on 03/01/2019 for a Mark Normand show and it won't be the last! Great experience! We had reserved seats and received comfy booth seating, dead center with a good view (though the place is small enough for all to see well enough I think). The openers were excellent and although we didn't order food, the menu looked good enough and prices for food were reasonable. Bathrooms were cleaner than expected and all staff were friendly while servers were discreet and did not disrupt the show at all. I'm already excited to return.

Margaret Cho's performance at the Helium Club in Philadelphia was terrific. She is the funniest comedian I know and this venue really made it all come together. The ushers, the servers, the delicious food and drink were all top notch. I can hardly wait to return.

Great venue. They do a great job by providing a little bar/lounge for people to wait before the shows start especially since you need to get there well before the start or else they'll resell your ticket. You're required to purchase two items while at the show but they can be drinks or apps or something. I'm definitely going again.

...been going to helium since they opened, for a while they were philly's only real comedy club (nowadays they have some real competition from Punchline) ...it's a cozy, intimate little room, all the seats feel like they're close to the stage, which is great for comedy, and the food isn't terrible at all, and they still get a few big name headliners every now & then ...the staff has never made 'customer service' their top priority (at times they can come off as rude or dismissive), and that cozy/intimate layout can make things a little 'claustrophobic' when it's crowded, there's always a chance you might find yourself at a small table with complete strangers, and the acoustics can make it hard to hear the performer if people are talking ...also, keep in mind; there's a 2 item minimum per person (drinks/food), but that's fairly standard in comedy clubs ...overall, helium makes for a decent comedy club experience.

Great place for comedy. We're saw Drew Lynch here Friday night. He and the other two acts were great. This was the first time doing the power boost on the ticket and it was worth it to not rush to the door since we knew we had good reserved seats.

This place is wonderful. The staff is very friendly especially Mariah and the food is fantastic. The seats for general admission is first come first serve but they seat based on party size and all of the seats have a great view of the stage. Beer and cocktails are priced very well. Will definitely be coming back.

The show itself was great! Purchasing tickets and being seats went well. Service was super slow. We actually ended up cancelling our food order. The waitress was understanding and gave us comp tickets to come back. Exiting was difficult with the way they had the line for the next show set up.

Went to see Bryan Callen on a Thursday night and it was packed! Great venue for comedy. The food and drinks were reasonably priced for being in Philly. Great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly, makes you feel like they want you there!

Great shows, yummy drinks, and a variery of snacks. We went for Phillies Phunniest and I didn't stop laughing the whole time. It's reliable for a good night of comedy. I would grab your tickets online before you go so you can make sure you get a good seat! I will be returning to see more shows

I've been the club twice already and both times I've had an excellent time. First time was for Ray William Johnson, Kaja and Francis. The last time was for Drew Lynch. The service was exceptional both times and the staff was amazing. I was seated at odd ends of the venue both times but I was still able to enjoy the show to the fullest. I can't wait to come back again.

A great small venue featuring fantastic talent. As expected, food and drink prices are inflated, but with reasonable ticket prices the total cost of the evening is decent. Service is good and friendly, as well.

Liked the venue, it was small enough to be close to the stage for the show but not so small as to feel packed in. There is a 2 item minimum, but everything was reasonably priced so that did not bother me. The drinks tasted great, but were not very strong. Over all great experience.

We were all the way in the back so getting drink or food orders were impossible. Staff was kind of stuck up and rude but again we were late so I understand. Drinks I hear were outrageously expensive. I did like the setup of the venue for actually seeing a comedian

Bit of a mess getting in and out of the showroom but it's a small place with a lot of seats. Always good shows here and I've always had fun. Must order two items off the menu per ticket so I always get a Fiji water and fries to keep the cost lower. I'd recommend against will call as they will give your tickets away if you don't get them at least 45 minutes before the show.

I saw the 7:30pm Nick DiPaolo show on Aug 16. I was able to walk up and buy a ticket at the box office. General admission was $25, $26.75 total with ticket fees. It's cheaper to pay cash rather than credit. Once you get into the showroom, you're required to buy two items. I got a beer and a plate of fries, which came out to $18 total, including tax and tip. Good show, decent warmup act. Definitely research the comedian you're coming to see. Comedy is not for the easily offended. If you can set that aside, Nick DiPaolo was hilarious.

Had a great time. We were there for the Sandy Rollman Ovarian cancer research fundraiser featuring the cast of General Hospital. Staff was excellent and the food & beverage were great as well.
