This Night Club is included in the category of Gay night club.
Fun spot for visitors from out of town on a Saturday night or certain Sunday afternoons. Otherwise, I would generally recommend to spend your time and money elsewhere. Prices for drinks, cover, and membership (specifically, VIP membership) have continued to outpace their facilities and atmosphere. They also have terrible efficiency for entry for non-VIP patrons.
i'm there every weekend it never gets boring. they make damn sure anyone under 18 does not get in and they make damn damn sure anyone under 21 is not drinking. emory and cassidy are gorgeous.
Says it opens at 5 and show up at 6:33 and is not open.
I've been coming to this bar forever, and have worked here for years! It's a Bar for everyone! Its a place to have fun, dance and get drunk with your friends.
BEST club I ever went to!
Great atmosphere, average drinks. The cover is always annoying and I hate how they add the membership sticker to your license.
I will be back. The crowd was fun.
I was banded form Legends Nightclub Complex because I told the truth about racism. If you are gay and black I would not suggest that you return to this club. For example they would only allow 3 people in the restroom at a time. I asked to speak to the manager and was told to hold and he will will be with you. The manager and and I talked and his response was what do you want/what at you doing. My response was equality. I’m very upset that the owner would allow treatment of customers as such. I’m asking the mayor to look into this matter Raleigh, North Carolina and Mayor Nancy McFarlane.
Membership mandatory. Awesome bar with tasteful prices. Will definitely return in the future.
Absolute trash. There is nothing unique about this place thus you can save your money and go elsewhere. Techno is non-stop, the drag shows are terrible, and things are over-priced. Not sure how people can throw five stars on this...apparently they've never been to Vegas...or seen it in a movie.
Best place in Raleigh for dancing the night away. Cool vibe, good music, and no creepy guys trying to dance with you uninvited! Great for girls night out.
Legends is always a great time. The Jell-O shot boy James is incredibly charming
Best. Birthday. EVER! Went to the drag show. The ladies were fantastic! I'll be going back soon!
Can't say enough about the staff and the experience I had at this club. Simply amazing!!!! Thank you
Best Nightclub Ever!!
Wouldn't allow my emotional support dog in. He's in a bag. They always allow dogs. Woof
Had a wonderful time. Feet hurting like hell from dancing but that's cause the Dj was doing his thing! Will definitely be coming back with my sqaud soon!
Loves it.
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. On October 22 of 2016 my friend was down here for our friends birthday. She was sexually assaulted on the dance floor by 2 guys that we didn't know. Management didn't do a single thing we ended up having to call the cops ourselves and file the report. Legends shouldn't be allowing anyone under 21 in either. It's so trashy how they allow stuff like this to go on. And people being sexually assaulted at legends happens a lot from what I hear. I would never go here if I were anyone.
Five star clubbing
fun place w fun friends
Thursday night's are my favorite :)
Soo much fun!!
Great place to get your dance on!
Great bar, just wish they’d accept card.
My absolute favorite club in Raleigh. A welcoming atmosphere where there is something for everyone. 3 soon to be 4 bars, a dance club and a patio. They also have drag shows, movie nights and trivia nights. If you are looking for a really good night out I highly recommend it.
So I’m visiting from out of town, and usually tip a bartender at my very last drink. So I had two beers, went to the restroom, returned to the bar. And the fellow who runs the boutique, says to me aren’t you going to tip the bartender. To which I answered I’m not finished yet. So where is it his business when I decide to tip? Or was it the bartender complaint to him, while I was in the bathroom, that he was afraid he wasn’t going to be tipped. Glad I’ll never be in this establishment again.
Service is awful! Never stepping there
You can always find me here, never fails. This place is my home away from home.
Very loud and crowded. Not worth cover charge but nice place to go to there view bar for a drink or two after work without cover.
Never have had a bad experience here! Have been a regular patron since 2009 and have seen a lot of positive changes in both club layout and improvements, as well as the staff and its focus on the customer experience.
I came here a few times to enjoy the only few places NC have to offer LGBT+ in NC. The moment I have waited 40 minutes; I hear a security yells out I'm letting all my WHITE friends in after that occurred they went of for more than an hour letting in only those who pay more than 40. I wish I can say I enjoyed it I felt the comment was unnecessary as well as racist.
Legends has remodeled and is the HOTTEST nightclub in the Triangle LGBT Community! The staff is friendly and you are sure to enjoy the latest dance music!
Drag show is good given it's not a show from a big city like Washington DC. The biggest issue with the drag show is there is so little room for the show. People block the entrance and it is a major fire hazard if the fire marshal ever wants to see he would def habr to come on a Saturday. The pool tables are ok but major lost income they could put more of a restaurant in this area and have a wall that collapses in. You could have a bigger room that way. The crowd is a bit like DC to liche if you don't have friends in the area people don't really approach you unless you are GQ. They could def make the place a double floor to increase sales as well the dance floors are a bit small. The restrooms could be moved to make more room for the dance floor.
college crowd, but a lot of fun. Great Drag Show! Loved it!!
No wardrobe to secure your belongings.
Jasmine Brooks is the Best!!!!
amazing.
Had an awesome time!
Amazing club. The drag shows are fantastic to watch and the drinks are all cheap! The bottle service options are cheap and the server, James, is great! Highly recommend this club for anyone looking for a good time.
Greatest memories of my life. Please never shut down, ever.
Great place to go
I absolutely loved this place, until one of the "Security" , Donald DJ Martinez completely embarrassed me and physically assaulted me because of an argument that we had a year prior unrelated to anything to do with Legends. I'm 5 feet tall and I was pushed and pulled around by 4 guys , all twice my size and literally threw out of the club because as he said, "Youre in my place now". I was with a friend and from out of town and I was just trying to show him a good, drama-free time. And it was the complete opposite. It was the most embarrassing thing that has happened to me ever. My friend and I notified the owner because it was a complete abuse of power and it was physical abuse. I loved Legends and always spent a good amount of money there but that was a very degrading experience and I will never return if they don't get more professional security that can't differentiate between work and professional life.
Drinks - Drag - Dance ... this place has everything! Cool staff - great drag queens ... something for everyone!
Love Legends! Great place to go to unwind. Great staff and safe environment.
Monday nights. All I need to say.
Two of my friends and I were charged a higher cover charge than the other people admitted to the club around us. We were not given a reason and I sincerely hope it was not because they assumed our sexualities. When one of my friends went to go through to the club, she was given no instruction and mocked by the employees for not hearing the door buzzer over the loud music (extremely inaccessible for those with hearing impairments as well since there were no visual ques). The other guests in the club were wonderful, and the atmosphere was upbeat, however I did encounter guests who were under the age of 18 who had been admitted and several people throughout the club were openly vomiting. I don’t know how much of that was due to outside substances, though it did appear as if they were over-served alcohol. Everyone there was making the best of the experience, but this did not feel like a safe or inviting space in and of itself.
one of the first nightclubs I ever went to. loved it. great drinks. DJ should play more familiar music though.
I was looking forward to trying this place out but I doubt I'll be back. Went here a few weeks ago and after being let in by the nice security guard, I went to pay my cover fee. Gave the girl my ID, she looks at me and says, "I can't let you in, you look nothing like your ID.". Apparently growing your hair out and losing weight makes you ineligible to get past the front door. As someone who's trans, does this mean I have to get multiple ID's? One as me dressed as male and the other dressed as female? What if I came dressed in drag, I need one for that look too? I literally have no other problems with my ID at any other bar in the area, you know the ones that aren't lgbt bars or "safe spaces", so why the problem here? I literally went in full female attire at the ruby deluxe a few blocks away and they still took my ID...
I went to this club for the first time last night with my best friend. Beautiful people, wonderful staff members to ensure that the younger goers are safe, and all in all a great experience for us and we will definately go back ❤
Fun! Fun! Fun!
A great club and awesome environment.
Terrible. Half of the menu they didn’t have. No ketchup with fries....what? And the menu items were clearly purchased at a Walmart or sams club.
Fun fun fun!!!
Hay dray here I love this club its so big u could get lossed the first night lol
Great club!
I liked the vibe and was a place where you could have fun. Though the problem is they don't believe in equal size bathrooms. The guys have six stalls for the men and only one toilet for the girls. Looks a little unfair to me
Great Atmosphere, fun place
It was a very positive atmosphere everyone was happy and just wanted to have fun. I felt safe there and it was just an amazing experience. The music was great and popular. The drink that I got was really good. I will definitely go back.
Quickly has become trashy. Have been a few times, and my last visit left me disheartened. Part of a kickball league and went with some close friends. Walked into the bathroom to find two men going at it. Disgusting. Saddest part is this is not the first time this has happened and I don't even think the owners care. Won't be coming back, just over how trashy things have become.
I accidentally walked it. All men! (I'm a woman) They seem to be having fun
Cool, fun, friendly, lots of activities, and affordable. The staff is friendly too.
BAR was supposed to be open 2 hours ago according to the sign... this isn't the first time they didn't open on time.... it's the only club in town... so I guess they feel it's cool to close when they want being they are the only option...
The music there is not really diverse I went on two different occasions and the music seems to only please the Caucasian crowd. I traveled a little distance to this club on my birthday and i could have just stayed in my hotel.
Nice place
Its a nice nightclub
love it
The drag show was absolutely amazing, but I give one star because the door staff was rude and demeaning. I will never be back.
everything is great and inviting, even the prices of drinks, but my main issue is the music. can we be up to date with the music? instead of being stuck in 2011?
Definitely loved this place came for my birthday with some friends and A very special guest made it so special Katrina Colby , Y’all please hire her back for a show ♥️♥️
Came in right when they opened. Friendly bartender and a steward to the community. Visiting from out of town and really got a lay of the land. Thank you!
I have been going there for almost a decade I think 2004 was the first time. It's changed allot. some good and some not so good. There is lots to do on Friday and Saturday nights and during the week its quiet. I would suggest bringing back the Sunday Drag show and ditching the Gogo boys as well as at least having the dance floor open. The Gogo boys are cute don't get me wrong but I miss my queens and feel cramped considering 3/4 of the club is shut down on Sunday. On Friday and Saturday night it is the place to be most of the time. I run into lots of my friends and catch up on that weeks events. With out fail you will see some characters which is always fun. The club can be a bit clicky at times but for the most part it's friendly. In recent years it seems that more straight people have found this place which is ok but remember it's a gay bar so if your a cute guy and another guy offers you a drink don't get offend, after all you chose to come to our club. Love the staff and the queens they always make me feel like I'm welcome. Drinks are cheap and not watered down.
I got in at about 10PM on a Saturday. Because I was underage to drink alcoholic beverages, I was given an "X" on both hands and a wrist band on my right hand. The charge was $8 to enter and the cashier took my I.D. until I was set to leave. The dance floor was dead until 11PM when more people poured in and the DJ played music. There was much momentum in dancing and kissing that you couldn't resist and not dance. The drag show at the view was decent but they could perform better. For the most part they just walked out in their outfits, lip syncing, and taking money. The view also has games and lounges. There is also an outdoor section with a bar and smoking accessibility. I hardly went through any trouble or problems in the club. However, more security could be helpful.
We always have a great time at Legends. There's something for everyone here.
Was a good night with my girlfriend for the most part but when I first went in the colored haired woman was verryy rude. I was excited to be there and nervous because I've never been, I was paying attention to my date and the woman asked me what should I not do, neither me or my girlfriend heard her, she asked a second time and i realized she asked me something so i said I'm sorry? And she said "I've asked you twice." Very rudely, I said I didnt hear you I'm sorry, and she got an attitude and asked me again, I said I shouldnt drink, and she kept saying "ANDD??" as if i should know. Then she asked me if I was okay, i said yeah why? And she said "you look..." and made a hand gesture towards my face implying i was already drunk (i was completely sober) and then after my girlfriend said we were paying separate she said with an attitude still "have we come to a conclusion?" So I guess I'm not the only one who cant hear.
Too hot, too crowded, too sweaty... A drag queen gave me a ticket for free food and when I went to redeem it I had two negative experiences. 1) I waited in line and was told it was a drink only line and got a drink anyway. 2) Went to wait in a different line and ordered a drink and food. However, the bartender/order-taker knew nothing of the redeemable coupon and I had to explain it to him. After order a pizza I received a chicken quesadilla and the guy who took my order was like "oh well it's free so haha" and then the quesadilla wasn't even thoroughly cooked... So that was a pretty negative food experience when they are trying so hard to advertise it.
in reading these reviews you can tell who got some and who didnt! lol...the people that got some are very positive....the ones that didnt sound like sourpusses....lol
The drink specials were reasonably priced, especially earlier in the evening. There were two different events/music stores to dance to as well as areas where it wasn't as loud and you could get away from the noise as a break. There were also some arcade games, as well as pool tables, skeeball, and air hockey! The air hockey table was a little odd in that you could play with a player on each side of the table, but that doesn't interfere with just playing a normal game if you get across from each other. There is also a lounge area with nice leather seats and a fireplace as well as an outdoor area for smokers where you could still hear the music. Earlier in the evening, it was a very chill place to hang out and have some drinks and play some games. As the night went on, it transitioned into a pretty bouncing night club with a decent number of people on the dance floor or just hanging around drinking, playing games and hanging out. All in all, it's a nice venue with an eclectic variety of areas.
Love it! Nice club, plenty of room, a really neat (open air) courtyard and wonderful, FUN drag shows! Plus, the people are really nice, and I'm talking about the patrons as well as the staff. Every time I've ever gone here, I've always had fun. The manger, by the way, is always very friendly. Super nice man! I highly recommend Legend's. I have a shirt (that I had made) and I've worn it out there before and I love it. And it seems others do too, because they've commented on it. I think it fits the Legend's drag show theme, perfectly! It says: "Some become Queens. Others become Legend's." :-)
The staff is friendly & the decor is very nice but the scene is very typical. Nothing ground breaking about this place. I'm very "technoed" out with the music but I understand that there's still a big enough demand for it. I'm also tired of all the drag shows. It would be nice to find just one gay bar that would spare us from the constant bombardment of guys that want to dress as women. I have nothing against it, I'm just tired of every gay bar I go to there has to be a drag show. Also, my rating would've been much higher if the staff would allow the few of us that don't want to watch the drag shows or listen to the techno music the luxury of listening to the jukebox without turning it down or off when the drag show starts. I don't see why they can't close the door to the ballroom & let those that want to watch & enjoy the show do it at their leisure and allow people like me the luxury of listening to the music we paid to hear on the jukebox for our enjoyment. Other than that, if you're looking for a gay bar with the largest crowd in this area, I would recommend Legends. If you're looking for a gay bar that's atypical I'd say occasionally Flex but it would be best if you ventured out of the area.
Great friendly bartender's & DJ, management, & drag shows. Love the pop up drag on main dance floor.
Always fun. I come here every weekend!
I've been here at least 4 times since moving to NC about two years ago (All on Thursday nights). I haven't had a bad experience. My best friend is coming up from Charlotte for the weekend and im taking him here. this will be my first time going on a Saturday night so im not sure what to expect, hopefully the good streak continues. :)
Love legends and the always wonderful experience. Thank you for supporting our community!
A metro of over 1 million with only two gay clubs. Legends coasts by on having a near monopoly on the LGBT scene. Absurd cover fees, as well as a cash only policy, detract from what would otherwise be a really cool place. Seriously though it's 2015. Get a card reader like a legitimate business.
I joined a group of friends for a birthday night here and it was also my first gay club experience...it was amazing! Love the drag shows ❤❤ Dedinitely will be going back!
Thank you for a great venue and atmosphere to party and celebrate at!
Good times!
Great place to hang out with your people and have a drink. Love the drag shows on Saturday nights, and the dance music is the best in Raleigh. Better bring cash though, since the bar doesn't take credit cards.
Really fun place. The multiple rooms can give you bar, lounge, or club feel. DJ is always great and the shows are fun.
I work Here but even in my nights off I still come in for drunks and I’m not treated any differently than any of our guest - great service is what I’m implying. And the music pretty good!
Ok so this is the most fun I have ever had at a club. we saw a drag show there that was AMAZING! everyone was very upbeat and friendly and you don't get the usual creep you get at other clubs. great place to just have fun.
well I see the reason why I gave Legends A two out of 5 in stars is because it's the only club here in Raleigh so of course the gay community is going to rate this club at 5 because they have Thursday night which is but I guess you can consider it being black night any have Friday night which is white night and my thing is is that we as a gay community have to come together and we should come together to make and get more clubs here in Raleigh being that we are the capital of North Carolina I think that if we are going to be the the capital I think that we should show more initiative in our community. In just our communities that we live in but the communities that we are apart of which is a gay community and I think that we need to come together as individuals to one another and to come together to make a better night experience for the nightlife for the gay community so I think that that's something that all of us need to look into doing so that's my two cents
Great time, friendly staff
So as a first time visitor I kinda wasn’t sure to expect, we went for Goth Night on the first Friday and we got there a bit early. Our friend gave us a quick tour and I found the place to be surprisingly spacious, plenty of room and the outdoor bar definitely was a focal point of our night making it very easy to find our group. Plenty of places to sit, real good drink choice (I’m a beer drinker and was DD so I unfortunately couldn’t get adventurous). I think the most amazing part of the night was how friendly the atmosphere was and the people, definitely would return just because of the crowd and how open and merry everyone was. Pool was a bit expensive, just sayin’.
This is a very fun club. Unfortunately, there are leaks all over the place. The floors are messed up. It’s extremely hot (they don’t turn the AC on). Also it’s cash only...
It was cool. I could go back again. Had fun and it was a good crowd.
