Cute place with indoor and shaded outdoor seating. I got a spiced drinking chocolate, iced with a shot of espresso, and the spinach pastry which was really good. The drinks definitely can be pricey depending on what you get but it was kind of expected because of the setting. Although my drink was good it wasn't worth the expense. I would go again to get a pastry and less expensive drink.

Very hip little coffee shop in Durham. Had a flour-less peanut butter that was great - wasn't sure what to expect but it definitely makes me want to come back every day I am in town for a nice little treat. And they clearly care about their coffee here. The espresso was perfectly extracted - got all the tasting notes they had written on the board, with the perfect amount of sweetness on the front. They also have all these unique coffee drinks and "drinking chocolates". Didn't try any of those but they did look tempting. This will definitely be my go-to coffee shop when I'm in Durham.

I've been going here for as long as I have been in Durm. I love their hot chocolate and specialty lattes and drinks. The baristas have always been really nice and it has good outdoor space to read a book, study, or work when the weather is good. It's my favorite coffee place in town!

WHY so many awesome reviews? Do most people not know what good coffee is? This place is filthy and their lattes suck. Visiting the area for the first time & being a coffee lover, this place was raved about by friends of friends. There was a language barrier which made it really difficult to order. The woman at the register did not speak English very well at all and I have sensitivies & allergies so asking questions about certain ingredients and actually receiving a confident answer (response) proved to be more than difficult. The girls weren’t sure how much maca or how much matcha actually goes into the drinks & seemed unfamiliar with what exactly some of the contents of the lattes were which was irritating. After ordering an Oat Milk Dr. Durham I was excited to try the lava salt,ginger & vanilla concoction! I was SO disappointed. It tasted like oat milk. Not espresso with milk & all the other fun ingredients...just hot milk. I went to the counter And told her how plane it was and ask her if she had put any flavoring or salt in the latte at all. The girl added a little bit more vanilla and sprinkled ginger powder into the drink. First of all ginger powder? I am a coffee shop lover through and through! Every trip I make, I hunt out unique and local ones to the area! I absolutely loved Cocoa Cinnamon! An amazing indoor and outdoor area! The customer service was excellent as well as my menu choices, which were the Al Mokha and the Mound, which is this amazing ball of deliciousness - granola, coconut, chocolate chips, all mixed into this awesome little ball of greatness! Stop through this sweet spot! You wont regret it!

Perfect place to go to wear your expensive vintage clothes, Mac computer required Prepare for a $10 cappuccino that's half full, served in a paper cup. They're too cool for almond or coconut milk but they have macadamia and oat milk, they're good. One extra star for the pretty good music. I'm as progressive as anyone but when you're so cool your business suffers and quality declines because you're too cool man then get over yourself. The bathroom was gross too and you need a spoon to use it

There isn't much seating inside but it's comfortable and there are a few work surfaces. The covered outdoor seating is very pleasant when the weather cooperates. Great little coffee shop!

What a nice little coffee shop in downtown Durham! The coffee is well prepared and absolutely delicious; the staff is kind and helpful and the decor is relaxing and fresh. The parking is a little tricky as with most establishments downtown. This place is very popular but the parking is free.

Though I sometimes feel like the only non-hipster in town when I get coffee here, they do make good coffee and it's a great place to work. I prefer the Lakewood location more, but this is cozier and in a part of town where you can walk to many other destinations, including downtown.

My wife and I wanted to get out of the house, so we went to check out this place. It's a nice comfortable little place, and was quiet and relaxing on a Tuesday evening. I imagine there are other times when it's hopping. We both had hot cocoa. When my wife had questions about how it was made and drink options, they sent the barista out to talk to us and she was very helpful. Sea salt chocolate chip cookie was awesome.

Came here the first time few weeks ago for my latte and it seemed like a really cool place with a great atmosphere. I was, however, disappointed with no large sizes and no soy milk. Tonight (Friday 10/5/18) I went again and was so very disappointed. The three ladies working there had no personality and no business working with people. We ordered 2 vanilla lattes with half and half (breves) and one latte with oat milk. The girl who took our order didn't know what a breve was... I had to tell her. The girl who made the order took literally at least 15 min to make them and there was no one ahead of us. Our breves were very watery, the breves even more than the oat milk latte... Insane. There were coffee grounds all in the coffee... Basically grits and coffee. When my friend went to the counter and said, "I think there might be something wrong with the coffee.. ." The girl turned around and said "Yeah?!" and walked off. Will never go here again. Your coffee isnt that great and your employees tonight sucked.

It was half the size of a mug from home, and although my chai latte tasted fine, it was lukewarm and half foam. For $4 I had hoped for more actual latte. It wasn't worth the price.

I absolutely adore Cocoa Cinnamon. It is welcoming, cozy, and friendly and there is plenty of space to sit and get some work done or chat with a friend. Their coffee is also quite good. The drawback, however, is the fact that sometimes there is not enough parking around Cocoa Cinnamon.

The BEST cold brew in town! Stayed in Charlotte for a weekend and literally went here every day for coffee. Barista Stella was the nicest person ever and gave me and my friend some ideas on what to do in Charlotte. The environment is also very cool! Interior design aids the mod coffee shop vibe. We were visiting NC for a few days ! We stopped by. The cashier was so rude and impolite ! There were few chocolate croissants she took them all from the shelf then I asked if she is gonna put more ! She said my boss asked me to save them for her!!!!!! Not a simple apology?! Interestingly the supervisor ignored us and her behavior! We asked for forks and knife, she threw a few to us and was like we don’t have enough!!! It was the first time I have ever seen this horrible customer service. She was trying to add caramel to my coffee, she squeeze half of it on the counter! We got our pastries in a broken plate too! Nice! Isn’t it hazardous?! Safety issues! I didn’t expect all of that !We didn’t feel welcome at all !

The coffee was good.. the open place with no wall in the middle of winter isn't a good idea for a coffee shop, since you want a comfortable, warm and cozy place, music was loud and the girl taking our order could barely speak clear so we had a hard time understanding and repeating, she didn't know about their products when asking what they were, when asking for the key for the bathroom she just pointed at it instead of handling it to me.. It felt kind of rude since she had it right next to her. I usually like this Bohemian indie style, but the area where this place is doesn't look safe at all and the place looks dirty and employees are dismissive and informal, one thing is to run a bohemian style place, and other way different is trying to apply this informal ways to the attention, the infrastructure.. Plus, only one bathroom for everyone and as you can expect it was dirty..

The inside of this coffee shop is much bigger than its outside would suggest. The decor is really interesting and it had a lively vibe as opposed to some shops that are more quiet than a library. The baristas were quick, fast, friendly, and very helpful. I got a latte and you can tell that the vanilla syrup is homemade. I would highly suggest this place!

With local art and a bulletin board full of local events and organizations this place embodies Durham culture. The Dr. Durham... latte? ...is delicious. Don't be scared off by the black sea salt on top. It highlights the sweetness of the milk and coffee flavor without adding much of a salty taste at all.

I'm in Cocoa Cinnamon at least once a week, and it is one of the businesses I consider to be iconic for Durham. The coffee is fantastic, the menu is creative, the pastries are fresh, and the environment screams local - or Durham. It can get pretty crowded at peak times, but that's just something you deal with when you're patronizing local businesses - if I wanted a corporate cup I'd go to the Sbux. But now there are plenty of locations around Durham that keep the lines mostly reasonable. Give it a shot, there are plenty of comfortable spots to hang out - and check out the community board while you're there, it's one of the most active and well stocked ones around.

Amazing hot chocolate and coffee, delicious cookies! My only complaint is the limited indoor seating. If the weather is warm there's more than enough room, but if it's below 50 degrees, the shop can maybe seat ?20 so you're better off getting your drinks to go.

I used to be a Barista for over 7 years so I appreciate a great tasting espresso. This place definitely has it but it takes over 10 minutes to receive a double shot and over $3.00 to pay for it. Other than that, it is a lovely place.

Stopped by right before Hurricane Floyd's brought all the rain in. Had been eyeing this place for awhile and loved the ambiance! It was bright and cheerful with a helpful staff. I ordered a unique drink and can't wait to try more on the menu (also going to try the famous churros next time as well). Prices were a little high, but the usual as any cafe would be. Love supporting local shops like this!!

Delicious cozy little coffee shop. I love the atmosphere in there. I can't remember now exactly which latte I got, but it was fantastic. They also have a very entertaining sign about the table sizes.

This is a cool coffee shop that welcomes everyone. Its a cool place to get coffee, tea and snacks. The shop has an indoor section and an outdoor section. You can be as comfortable as you like in the air conditioner or hang outside and get some natural sunlight. The staff seemed warm and welcoming. I went there to get a coffee and a snack while I studied a bit. I stayed a couple hours and got more tea and I could concentrate. There is music playing in the background but not too loud where it will disturb you. The place wasn't so busy when I first arrived but it got packed later on in the day. I had a successful day studying and was happy at the end of the day. I would recommend for anyone that wants tea or coffee and snacks. They have complementary water as well. Enjoy.
