This Night Club belongs to the category of Night club.
Good atmosphere. Lots of trap music, little reggae. Good crowd.
Trop bruyant ! Pensez aux riverains. Trop de klaxons et de bruit dans la rue. Impossible de dormir jusqu'à 4h du matin
Small venue with a rude staff and dirty bathrooms that are perpetually out of TP and paper towels. Coat check is a disorganized nightmare that costs $6 *per item* and the ticket prices are too high for this unbecoming, sloppy garbage. Skip this club and go elsewhere.
Rude staff that lost stuff at the coat check. Overpriced.
This place is discriminatory against women, my friends ID was a few monthes expired and they wouldn’t acept it, I understand that a valid ID must be present to get in HOWEVER we watched the bouncers let in MULTIPLE guys with expired IDS also let in one guy who said “this isn’t even my ID” in with no problem or hesitation at all. We confronted the manager about the bouncers and he told my friend “well look at what you look like..you’re small” so its okay to let large men in with unexpired IDS but not my friend who is over 21 years old but just happens to be 5’0?.... disgraceful, we also pre-bought tickets and traveled two hours from Suffolk County. Waste of our money... went to the Brooklyn Bowl right after and my friend had no problem at all.
Small but fun
Went here for the Anjunabeats after party Jan 27th. Easily one of the worst club/event experiences possible. We purchased our tickets well in advance and had to wait about 30 minutes to gain entry. Once inside, we were greeted by a club that was packed well beyond maximum capacity. I'm not going to get started on the lack of bathroom facilities for a venue of this size. After 15 minutes of being a sardine in the schimanski can, my group decided to leave Which is unfortunate because we wasted over $100 to attend. Such a shame that a place would over crowd a venue to the point that you cant move or breathe just so they can make an extra buck. I'm just grateful that nothing happened to require people to exit in a hurry. Hopefully this was a one time thing, but I doubt it given the lack of concern of the staff. Save your money. Go somewhere else. This is pacha 2.0 painted to make you feel like you're still at Verboten.
This place over sells their events to a point where it's not safe any more. Even when the event is sold out they'll continue selling tickets at the door. They cram people inside with no regards for safety. It gets so crowded that it's hard to have a good time. Avoid this place if you can.
Excellent place to go to if you're into House /Techno music! Amazing sound and lightning, 2 rooms, 2 bars, coat check, line goes fast. Better than Output in any way and just a block away of it.
Last night was my third and final time going here. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but time after time they oversell it to the brim and make the experience down right miserable. This is a deep house club not a frat basement, don’t get me wrong those are awesome but only in certain situations. I want to be able to enjoy myself and dance, not literally have to box out my fellow patrons as if I’m going to get a rebound. All and all, this place just sucks plain and simple it’s awful.
Worst service ever. If it could get 0 stars I’d give it that. Friends and I went to go enjoy a great techno scene like verboten (old ownership) used to do and ended up getting “throw out” for people next to us fighting. There was 3 fights that happened before security even came and BLANED THE WRONG GROUP. NEVER again will I come to this club. Output is so much better I’d rather pay $60 for a night of guarantee fun than get in for free at schimanskis. They need to bring back verboten and their old ownership.
Pretty terrible establishment located where there are dozens of better places. Overpriced, overrated and like others said, rude staff. It operates like a Manhattan club without the prestige or location benefits. 1/5 stars. Would not recommend.
Pretty bad. They were really rude at the coat check. They lost things from our coats and then they said they were not responsible for it.
Good artists are scheduled here but: - sounds is bad quality a lot of resonances here (cannot speak),- 2 Overcrowded no space , no vital space, means you cannot dance. - 3 overcrowded means you cannot order your drinks. - 4. men / women. ratio ;90 percent men 10 percent women .... This is not a good venue I won't retry !
Went here to see Galantis but left before they even came on. The place has a good sound system and lots of promise, but I'm giving it one star because it was so crowded! It was impossible to move around the venue, with people sardined inside. Bummer.
I planned to celebrate NYE 2018 and see Oliver Heldens perform here. Unfortunately this place was so over crowed that you couldn’t dance or enjoy the music. People were getting kicked out without explanation. I left immediately after the count down. What a disappointment! Never coming back.
Place was ridiculously overcrowded. There was room at all to dance in the main room, so we went into the side room to hang out. After about 30 minutes of doors opening, the club was so crowded we couldn’t even dance in the side room either. I really would like to return to see Paul van Dyk, but have no interest in being crammed beyond measure.
Great venue, great music
Will kick you out for no reason at all. Do not go there!
I've been here at least 4 times. Some of the best artists in electronic/dance music come here. Schimanski is a name that is known to every person who goes to raves in NYC. So why 1 star? Having an iconic name that lands you top artists doesn't mean you're a good venue. I can get around the fact that the venue is small, but as everyone says, it is oversold and super crowded. It completely ruins the experience to be getting shoved every 30 seconds by drunk people weaving through the crowd with full cups of beer which eventually get spilled on you.
Cool spot
Pretty bad experience! We entered the club and noone told us that the coat check was mandatory. The place was empty, so we left our coats to a place next to us. They came and they took all of our coats without asking, while we were dancing!!! Then, they were asking for 4 dollars per coat even though they lost one of my friend’s stuff. Really unprofessional and rude staff! Never going there again!
Glad they opened it again. Specially like the sound in the bigger room. Generally top notch DJ's play here.
I came in for the above & beyond common ground after party. Excited time with new friends and sharing the love to all
Gets -1 star for rude bridge and tunnel bartender who lectured me about giving her a 20% tip for ordering at the bar, which is UNHEARD OF, and then printed me out a new receipt and insisted that I give her a better tip. Trashy, low, bad experience. I didn't come here to have someone lecture me and try to pound every last penny out of me, for a watered down drink. I paid $28 to be lectured by a chic from Jersey about New York and was given a glass of juice. I will not be coming back.
Went for the 1st time last Saturday. Chris Leibing was amazing! As expected he kept the place jumping all night long! I agree with whoever said the GM is sweet- he totally is! Thank you for allowing me and my friend access to VIP section. Bartenders were on point, very attentive and quick. Coat check was also very efficient. Even the line getting in moved nicely. I must say the outside security guy was sexy as hell...but don’t tell him I said that! Staff kept the place clean, floors weren’t full of garbage even at the end of the night. I will be back for more soon!
Love this place. The art is so dope and the staff there is wonderful. I particularly like going on Saturdays when its underground hip-hop night. The energy is unparalleled.
Been there 3 times now and every time it gets worse and worse. Very small venue. This time I will not be coming back. Way to over crowded. Rude staff. Oversell tickets.
Have been here a few times and enjoyed it. Everyone complaining about it are just the kind of people that can't be pleased with anything and have unreasonably high standards for a Brooklyn nightclub that hosts multiple genres of music.
Incredible sound and great techno/house every time I go. Highly recommended if you want to dance the night away in Bklyn.
Great place to see Trance Djs!
Cute club, weak drinks.
Surrounding screens make this a trippy adventure and a perfect place to listen to this music.
Went here for lil skies album premier, it was good. Very tiny stage so it was pretty close for pictures
This place is the worst. People charge you at their will and keep tips without even asking. They made me pay to get my coat back, even though they had lost my sweater.
Cool club, great DJ's! Great venue to listen to house music. Fast bar tenders and great crowd.
Oversold, packed. They host two shows at the same time that you can hear both of clearly if you're by the single door separating them. Tiny venue. They give out free admission and they do not actually ID the kids coming in.
I had a lot of fun here! Thank you especially to Skream and Dennis Ferrer for putting on one helluva show! Contrary to what some have said, all of staff members I encountered were friendly and helpful from the security guards to the bartenders. Also, the lights in this place are insane! I felt like I was on a trippy planet with all the multicolored lights and the huge disco ball. The lights reflecting off that shark were super rad to look at. Also, for Christ's sake...thank you Schimanski for allowing me to film and take pictures because boy was that a night I do not want to forget! I also thought it was pretty funny when people would film with their flash on and the lighting guy would shine a super bright spotlight right in the person's face and then usually the person would barely notice because well you know....btw kudos to the people handling the lighting, they were going NUTS! It was perfectly to the beat of the music and everything. You guys put Output's lighting system to shame!!!!!! All in all, I'm really glad I decided to check this place out considering all of the bad reviews it has. I will say that Skream and Dennis Ferrer aren't "huge" acts and I also think they pull in a groovier than usual crowd. So I could see how other nights might be jam-packed and annoying as hell if the crowd is full of obnoxious people. But the night I was there people were bopping around and grooving and having the time of their lives and it was pretty great. I'll be back if you bring my boys Olli and Dennis back for round 2! :)
It is amazing how this place has a 3.5 star rating but yet EVERYONE/ACTUAL PATRON gives it a 1 star for how overcrowded it is. Local guides, your stars shouldn't count if your not gonna be honest about the actual venue. Totally misleading and ridiculous. What are you guides good for? I'll tell ya... NOTHING!
NYE event Oliver Heldens - I get the overpriced drinks and coat check, because that's every nightclub in the area. But this place needs better management. Why hire a bathroom attendant that doesn't do her job? She never put toilet paper in the stalls and held the one roll of paper towels to dry your hands. The electrical hand dryers were "not working" and I had to get cocktail napkins every time I went to pee. On top of that, FIX THE STALL DOORS. I was helping women get out of their stalls because they were stuck. The doors wedge so tight it took 5 minutes just to get one open. Don't waste your money. The staff just doesn't have it together. it was overcrowded and clearly overbooked.
Club is super cool! The Lighting, Bartender and General Manager are sweet! Only problems is the coat check very disorganized! And sometimes over book some DJs

Overpriced, some of the rudest staff I’ve ever encountered in New York and an overall terrible experience. You can literally find 100 better places in Willamsburg to spend your evening, highly would recommend not giving this place your business.
Nice place.... awesome.... I honestly always have a good time and have yet to have a bad experience... I think it's all about how you behave with people.
Fun venue for seeing DJ’s! Pretty intimidate, I’d say room for roughly 200? That’s my wild guess. Drinks are what you’d expect $11 vodka sodas). Disco ball is a beauty. Weird that you can see into the men’s bathroom from the dance floor but not vice versa
Fun atmosphere.
Multiple items stolen from my bag in bag check. Venue is unreachable and refuses to respond to calls or emails. Even the police have a hard time contacting them. Do yourself a favor and go to Output, House of Yes, Members Only, Flash Factory or literally any other venue for a better experience.
Not a fan of this place in the slightest and find it a complete shame that good acts perform here. They criminally oversell each event to the point where you’re standing shoulder to shoulder with others and are getting shoved around the entire time. The layout of the club is also not conducive to a high capacity crowd. It has been the same story every time I’ve been to the club. Homie is just trying to dance. I will not be returning.
Not bad. Fun crowd. :)
You will know you made the right choice the moment you step inside... so what are you waiting for!
A little small but it was a blast, the bartenders were nice, crowd wasn't crazy, acoustics weren't overwhelming. I'll definitely come see another show here.
Haven't been yet but pumped
This place has 2 separate dance floors but not soundproofed from each other, we were hearing clearly what was being played in the other room from ours.
I love this place and am so glad it reopened. They have great music sets that run late, even after the bar closes. Great for dancing. Drinks can be pricey. The interior is beautiful, and I love the displays. Also check out the bar next door.
Bouncers, Coat Check ppl , and Bartenders are all very nice here. Their light game is on point. Speakers sound great. What more can you ask for other than lasers!
Beware! They stamp your wrist at the entrance, but when you try to go back in, they pretend that the stamp is not theirs so that you have to pay the entry again. My friends had to come out for them to believe me, and still didn't agree to let me in unless I paid a "discounted" ticket. Let me tell you, I've been to some places held by dishonnest people in my life, but this one deserves a ranking on its own. Staff is extremely rude and reacts very aggressively when there is no need to. There are way better places than this one in Brooklyn. First time and last time there! Not recommended at all! Advice to managers: look at the reviews on Google maps and take actions to improve the image of your place, or you're not going to stay around any longer...
Terrible
The venue is too small, oversell ticket and kick people out with no explanation.
One room was open making it an over crowded venue, one female bartender just walked away shaking her head when trying to order a water, and because of the lack of proper air ventilation had to go outside to an over populated smoking area that made use of the handicap ramp preventing it from properly being used
Easy to find and get to with lots of street parking late at night. Well ventilated and smelled clean as well.
I love this place , it’s just a little small to dance but i had a great time, good music too
Terrific nightclub. The 360 screen displays are world class. Also love the urinals that look out onto the dance floor.
Same complaint as everyone else. They oversell tickets. I feel like if they didn't admit people beyond the space's capacity, they wouldn't have to post signs everywhere about theft and harassment. Everyone there the other night said they felt like it was a sardine can. Every time I go, I get aggressively pushed (way beyond normal crowd shoving), been knocked over, hit, and even got punched at one point by a drunk girl taking swings to make her way through the crowd. It's a shame as this place hosts a lot of great dj's. But I'm not about paying money to spend my night getting shoved, or even assaulted, while I'm just trying to dance. I'd like to go back for the music, but not before management reevaluates their policies. Also, tell people, at entry, that there's no going back in once you leave. If I had a dollar for every time I hear that conversation when I'm having a cig outside of your venue...!
As much as the previous owners (Verboten) were scumbags, at least they didn't oversell the place and pack it well beyond the fire limits. Honestly, it gets so packed that it's hard to even get to the exit.
Super bad vibes. Nasty staff. Way oversold. Avoid
Place sucks. Everyone has an attitude. And it's filled with hipster crack heads.
Never Again. I love EDM, but never again here. TOO CROWDED.
Amazing Music and Great Staff
Had a lot of fun at the Geeks and Drinks trivia night
cool bar
Awful services. Bartender and stuff were extremely rude . Cash only but you figure it out when you enter . It took an hour to get my coat back. I strongly recommend not to go there!
Fun place!
Nice club in Brooklyn. The security staff is super polite and professional! Good luck guys! I liked the space also. But the music was so different between R&B and Disco POP. Bartender girl in spite of her not affability made good drinks.
Generic big box club
Great music
Top notch
Terrible venue, avoid at all costs.
Saw Green velvet awesome dj . Club is cool I liked it but way too crowded that's rediculous.. The space itself needs work but has potential .the layout is not designed well at all and shud make more effort to provide vip or bottle service when u have a pretty big named dj just my opinion. You have green velvet there $50 to enter and it's a like a basement party kinda gross imo. I was wondering why I heard so many negative things about the space but I get it now i kinda wish I heeded the advice of many and not went
Very acomadating
Best club ever. That all.
Vers party great until 6am
Weeeeepaaaaaa
Great music, lack of a crowd.
I've been to two events at this venue now and I am not a fan. The layout is really bad and it's way too crowded. The first time I arrived really early and it started out good because not many people were there. But later on in the night, it was too crowded. People are constantly pushing their way between each other so it's nearly impossible to dance without hitting each other. And the problem with the layout is that the bar, bathrooms, and merch area are in this corridor area that is the only way to get to the main room. So people chilling by the bar are blocking the walking area. Also when the main room gets too crowded, people are standing around in this area, blocking the bar/bathrooms/etc. Didn't have any problems with rude staff as other reviewers talk about, but it's still very mediocre.
Attended French House DJ Madeon's concert on 11/4/2017. Stood in line since 8:30pm and waited 5 hrs for Madeon's set. First EDM concert I've ever been and it was a night I will never forget. Made my dreams come true after 4 years of being a fan. I was in the front row and witnessed the Prince of EDM dropped those lines of beats. As for the venue, I got two cocktails for $30. The bouncers were quite friendly, they didn't appear intimidating and one gave me detailed directions when I needed to use the restroom. Midway through the concert, because I am short - there was a big hunk dancing that almost knocked me to the ground. Being in the front row, I had to lift myself up using the bar above to avoid from getting hurt by dancing hulk. I knelt and stayed there for around 4 minutes while getting videos and photos of Madeon on my phone, apparently you are not supposed to go on the platform! I suggest the venue to post a sign so we know this. A bouncer came after me but fortunately I came down before he could make his way through the crowd to me. Sorry about that! Schimanski should host Porter Robinson if he comes to NYC seeing that he is Madeon's best friend!
Sound not great, mixed crowd
DO NOT GO TO ANY POPULAR ARTIST’S SHOW AT SCHIMANSKI. For years that venue has had a capacity problem and clearly nothing has changed even with new ownership. One of the worst clubbing experiences of my life was Deadmau5 after party for Gov Ball 2(?) years ago. Packed like sardines, literally had to hold your arms straight down while in the crowd. In January I went for an Anjuna after party and it was only slightly better. Way oversold and definitely not up to fire code. This is the most poorly designed club/venue in the entire city. Schimanski oversells so it gets intolerably packed—can’t dance or do much of anything, sometimes literally can’t even get into the main room.
Funktaxi is the best!
Intense crowded noisey dive for DJ sets. Friendly isnt the right word but also not the kind of spot your gonna feel unwelcome out of place if your chill, grungy. If your not comfortable in an overpacked subway car or dont know what I mean definetly do every one a favor and skip it.
Great club, great sound system, good edm djs come here almost every weak and also it has a second room for people who love hip-hop and top 40. Staff are friendly, bouncers are super chill and they minding their business, so line moves super quick, not like in some other places in Williamsburg where you spend 30 min in 20 people line....
Love this place
Good music usually with a more edm side and a more hip hop side. Can get really crowded when a big band is playing.
Was there last night for world pride. Door staff were swearing at people and only one person checking tickets for 500 people. Place needs to up its maturity.
Went for NYE, it would have been awesome if it weren’t ridiculously over crowded. You couldn’t even get anywhere near the room with the DJ in it if you left to go to the bathroom or the bar in the other room. Me and my friends were really disappointed. We couldn’t even stand it and left right after midnight. What a waste.
Can take a while to get a drink and it's always packed, but they have some good shows, so I'll keep going.
Drinks r expensive
Great venue! This is a very nice space to host events of all kinds. I came to see Roger Sanchez DJ. I arrived early when the place was rather empty but it filled up soon. Drinks are expensive as is typical in NYC. Several staff members including a bartender and security were very rude. The coat check is $4/item. There were plenty of bathrooms which were kept clean throughout the night which I really appreciated.
Amazing place, great place to vibe with friends!
Cookie monsta and um was dope they had visuals projected the walls
This place sucks. The space is usually crowded/awkward to navigate, the drinks are overpriced to begin with and the bartenders just charge you whatever they feel like charging you and add whatever random tip amount they feel like tacking on.
Way too overcrowded... music not booming, it's just kinda loud... also drinks are pricey, and the crowd is silly. But all in all I stay away from this place. If I see that one of my favorite artists is going here I just try not to cry and then cry resentfully.
Awesome dance club with an eclectic variety of events! When Giorgio Moroder spins, you MUST go! The place was literally like Studio 54 again
good music . strong security search.
Not my club. Too packed. Beer in a can is 8 bucks. 5 bucks for coat check.
Came here for disco night, wow, totally changed my mind - love this place! They also claim to have one of the best sound systems in the city and.. it’s true
Clearly overselling tickets to special events. Attended a live set put together by DJSasha and exited an escalating show after forty five minutes. Schimanski defines themselves as catering their sound to their performers but can not define their capacity or how capacity impacts the performance. Shoulder to shoulder. Individuals smoking cigarettes on the dance floor. Unused VIP standing room. The list goes on. The free WiFi that I used to book an Uber ride home is the reason for Star #2.
Pros: Great sound system, open space with high ceilings, good acts. Cons: drinks over priced
Fun experience
Came here for my birthday with a big party and was wrongfully charged 3x and can't get in contact with anyone to fix this issue!
