Upscale, trendy and popilar. Reservations are suggested if you're going to eat. Although the hostess wasn't the most pleasant or customer service oriented, the manager made up for it. The food is wonderful. The DJ played great music, just can't mix to save his life. But overall, we had a blast.

4 1/2!!! Great Friday night spot. Not too crowded for this lounge. And yes, it really is a "lounge" in every sense of the word. Nice ambiance, women in nice dresses, the guys represented too. Ratio of women to men was probably 3:1 but only because the women came in large large groups. The lounge is not very large and the drinks are over-priced big time. The DJ is pro-new york artists. And when he played an artist outside of new york, it was something old. Not old skewl but maybe top 40 from 2005 or so. Probably the same music list he started with when he first started dj'ing. If in New York again, I would go back

They know how to make a great cocktail, but you have to pay dearly for it. It has a classy, dark feel to it, yet it also feels modern and upbeat. Perfect for drinks in the evening after a show.

Good place for corporate happy hours, which is also the reasoning for the 4 stars. Mostly corporate groups so the vibe inside is largely dependent on who happens to be there and what they're celebrating. The staff was great. Slow service at times, but was part of a large group, so won't hold it against them.

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :) Food: Great. Have the Filet Mignon sliders. Drinks: Great. The Violet Kiss is really great! Space: Upscale modern, sleek and elegant lounge. The bar and lounge is an open layout that is conducive to mixing and mingling. There is a smaller more quaint room if you are looking for a more intimate experience. Scene: Mostly an afterwork crowd (finance and corporate types) and it does get packed. Crowd: 30-50s Afterwork crowd. Pick-up scene. Single scene. Service: Great! Super friendly, courteous, and attentive staff.

My girl and I went here twice since it was that good the last time. Same experience this recent trip to the 48 Lounge. We were greeted when we came in, decided to hit the bar and had several of the best drinks we got in Midtown! The dj played great music, catered to all genres( throwbacks, edm, 90s, top40, reggaeton, Latin music). Highly recommended if you want to go to an upscale and chill lounge!

Me and my friends decided to go down there for drinks after dinner though we had a hard time finding it at first because it's on the side of the big glass building. But we found it! It was nice that there was no cover charge to get in, the spot was nice a place where you and your friends can chill and relax on the couch. We loved the atmosphere and the music the DJ was playing was great! (some hip hop and reggae) The only thing is the prices for the drinks was sky high but they were good drinks! So if you go make sure you save some money if you planning on getting drinks there, but we would definitely go there again!

Excellent spot to party at or pre-game your night. Waitresses and bartenders are on point. Atmosphere is a lounge feel with a solid mix of music. Table service is offered. Dress is casual chic and a good mix of people. A definite spot to stop through.

I don't usually write reviews, but I loved this place! Came here on a Friday night before my bfs birthday celebration. We were planning to sit at the bar, but there wasn't any room so we just stayed around there, someone greeted us right away and asked to sit us at a table. The staff was very friendly, the drinks are pricey but strong, the food is great, along with the music (great variety) & atmosphere!

Was here for a private party, so my comments will be focused on the location and the drinks. The food is mediocre, but perhaps that was because it got cold too quickly. But the appetizers were coming out hot and were quite tasty. The DJ was fun, and the drinks are great. The bartenders are attentive and make spectacular drinks! Overall, I like the location because it is quite central in midtown and it is quite roomy.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. After spending thousands of dollars for a corporate event, once our time was coming to an end they were trying to kick us out. That is not how you treat a company that brings you business and a lot of money for a private event, specially when they’re still spending money on the venue. Will never go there again and will make sure that our company and partners don’t either. Horrible service!

First of all I was skeptical because I didn't know what kind of music they were going to play. I knew the place was nice from the positive reviews. this place exceeded my expectations. I celebrated my 30TH Birthday here on Saturday jan 12 2019. The decor is pretty couches and chairs were comfy and the food was amazing. The miso lobster rolls were my absolute favortie dish. i also had the spinach dip, empanadas, mac and cheese, and the chicken and spinach panini( i know i wanted to try everything) lol. the staff were very friendly and attentive. very welcoming also. and last but not least the DJ was AMAZING . i dont even know his name but he was great he really played a variety of music in every genre. my friends and I were very pleased. only negative thing i have to say about the place is that the cocktails are very expensive. id suggest bottle service if youre doing a large group. other than that the staff was wonder, food was good the bathroom was clean and it was very pretty decor i will definitely attend again and i had a blast here for my birthday!! thank you! oh and how could i forget SAMANTHA who helped me make the reservation i must have spoken to here over 10 times. she was very patient with me .

Somewhat pricey but intimate lounge smack in the middle of Midtown near Rockefeller Center. Great place for after work drinks for the corporate set, or a group gathering. Easy to get to for tourists who may want to experience a New York lounge without traveling downtown.

Was invited to company holiday party, the place might be a little expensive but top notch service, they kept coming around nonstop asking for our drink, the whole staff kept cleaning up even a piece of paper on the floor would get picked up. The vibe was very nice and so was the decor. I recommend going.

For a lounge, this place was very quiet on a Friday night at midnight. The music was really good and the food was good as well. The surf and turf, the fish tacos and the beef empanadas are all recommended. However, they are overpriced, especially the surf and turf. That being said, the ambiance and the chill vibe makes the place a good visit, especially if you stroll in just for drinks with friends. The setting is really quaint and pretty, with plush couches and throw pillows. The waiter took forever with our check, even when they had a card on file and we both went up there to let her know that we were ready to leave because she had already taken too long to check up on us.

First impressions of this place were very good. I stumbled across it actually looking for a different place, but we decided to go in and give it a shot. It looked like a very classy place for a Friday night, and I wasn't disappointed. There is no cover charge at the door and there is also complimentary coat check. In my mind, that offsets the expected outrageously expensive Manhattan drink prices. The average age of the crowd here is probably somewhere between 28-35. On the whole, I would recommend this place!

Nice place for happy hour ! Good music , I got the red sangria which had me very lit lol . The only bad thing is , I noticed that they dont scrub the glasses . They just dip them in soap water and rinse them off shich is sooo unsanitary . There are no sponges in sight ! I would advise you to ask for plastic .

I've been to 48 Lounge twice: one for a birthday party many years ago and once for a late night drink with my husband after seeing a show while staying nearby. This was not our favorite place to stop for a drink, actually. The house cocktails seemed good from the menu, but were both too sweet for us to really enjoy. Service could have been better, too.

Lovely lounge. Really great mixed drinks. Very solicitous hostess, wait staff and bartender when we visited. It was CRAZY loud when we visited because there were two loud private events in a place that needs tremendous sound dampening. I could only stand to stay for one drink.

I had the absolute best time at 48 lounge this past weekend. I was celebrating my 27th birthday and this place exceeded my expectations. I was looking for an upscale location with great music and a great crowd...and that’s exactly what I got. The staff was PHENOMENAL and I had the best waitress, Janae that catered to my growing party as the night continued on. The ambiance is amazing. Perfect spot for birthdays and date nights as well! Can’t wait to make my way over there again!

Woww! I recently celebrated my 25th birthday at The 48 Lounge this past Saturday. I had such an amazing experience! The staff was phenomenal. Everyone introduced their self with a hand shake and name. They did multiple check backs on my table. The Dj played a great selection of music. Much of a diverse crowd. Not only did my party enjoy themselves but the whole lounge was up on their feet dancing the night way. I look forward to the 48 lounge hosting another one of my events!

The location is near times square, so very convenient to get to by train. If you drive, there is usually parking by Radio City. The place is not cheap, but service is great. They now have a food menu and you can order some small plates to nibble on as you chill out. The "dance floor" is not big, but that's ok, this is meant to be a lounge, not a full blown nightclub.

Definitely a plush lounge, with a nice vibe to it. I went here for a friends birthday and the bottle service was nice out wait staff was attentive the entire night. It wasn't much of a diverse crowd but I still had a great time on the dance floor.

The music and drinks were great .. went with my husband was having a good time until the bartender with blonde hair and glasses gave him $4 change back instead of $16 when he tapped me to let me know she immediately apologized.. I had to leave I’m taking my business elsewhere since she obviously thought he was drunk after he bought 4 mixed drinks and tried to steal from us. The owner should watch the snakes he has working for him it costed him a lot of business tonight. My friends and I won’t be returning.
