Such an amazing experience. Very elegant ambiance. Staff was on point and very friendly. Ribeye cooked to perfection. Bacon wrapped Bison is a must try.

We came here for my birthday and I was not disappointed. I’ve lived in Albuquerque my entire life and this was my first time here, the food was delicious, the bread was hot and fresh. The cozy atmosphere to our amazing waiter “Floyd” made this such a memorable birthday. I highly recommend this place, I’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely the worst service possible! We went tonight 02/16/2016. We where seated by a very rude hostess. Place was half full and it took 45 minutes to get a bottle of wine. Yikes the waitress could not even get it open, she dropped the corkscrew and pick it up of the floor and continued to butcher the cork until she got it out. She was either very ill or very high! She couldn't form a complete sentence didn't know the special of the evening and rambled slowly. When the appetizer I ordered was not available she recommended yesterday's special that she thought was close. It was terrible. The food was just so so, nothing even close to what is had been in the past. Don't waste you time or money there. That is 2.5 hours of our life we will never get back.

Clarine Rauch

Its good overall.

This was over a year ago but we haven't been back: We were made to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time , along with 3 other couples, while the staff catered to the 6 seated tables. Obviously they were the preferred clientele. Once seated, it was a long time before a waitress took our order. After we got our food the waitress never came back to the table to refill our drinks, ask if we wanted dessert, etc. We never got our sides. I finally got up to ask the waitress for our ticket. We spent $350 on our table, a birthday dinner. I mentioned our problems to the hostess who said, "Sorry". The food we did get was good but I've had better service at Dennys.

5 Stars? That's an understatement. This was my first time at this restaurant and my proposal dinner: I grew up on a cattle ranch so I may be a little bias, but the atmosphere was incredible. I have never dined so fancy. The service was impeccable, all the 'low brow waiting' reviews must have come out on a day when they were slammed. (I guess some people never worked their way up). The service was so good I felt guilty for the staff doing all our tablet work. The food? I could go all day. I ain't no critic, but holy $#!% that food was awsome. The night ended in 2 spectacular yeses: Yes I will marry you & yes we'll be back.

One of my favorites. Always pleasant and attentive!

THE ABSOLUTE WORSE. I made reservations and arrived at the appointed time. They said the reservations did not exist were never made!!!! The reservation conversation was distinct. We talked about my groupon coupon and my February anniversary. I opted for the 31st of January the last date that the groupon coupon was valid and as close to my anniversary as I could get. I made no mistake. After leaving with no dinner and scrambling for a nice restaurant with no reservations we had a delightful meal at Antiquities. The next day I called hoping for an apology and compensation for the lost coupon value I received neither. An unforgettable wedding anniversary celebration.

5 stars for service. Excellent experience. Food gets 3 stars...because...too pricey...you can get the same quality of food from Olive Garden...Texas Road house etc. 2 people, 2 cocktails, 2 soups, grouper fish dinner special, and filet mignon... $117.00.

Great place

Cody Rachau

Very classy steakhouse. I enjoyed the piano player serenading us all evening. Great place to bring a date!

Service was a great. The food was Horrible. I have been going to ranchers for over 20 years very Disappointing.

Miguel Barberena

Unfreakingbelievable Rockefeller oysters... Caprese salad and Filet Mignon were astounding too. Service for my table was excellent. One of my best dinners in NM ever.

Shelton Bruce

Can't beat the service. The people are excellent, everything is cooked well. The menu items are touch and go, some stuff was awesome was others were ok. Duck carbonara was excellent, but bison tenderloin with red chile jus was just ok.

Mark Rickert

Service going downhill. This used to be a nice upscale place to eat. We took important guests out and one of our guests ordered chicken. The chicken was served way under-cooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. Server kept barging in during our conversations, carpeting wearing and in need of replacement. We likely won't return. For dishes that are in the $40-$50 per plate, no good. Hope they get it together.

Jack Moore

Unique menu. My favorite restaurant in the US. Even better than restaurants in Louisiana; Lafayette or N.O. Manhattan has nothing in this league, today or even in my past. .

Perla Padilla

My husband and I had been there a couple times but it had been about three years since the last time. It was not even close to what we had experienced the last two times. The server was awkward and not very knowledgeable of the menu, they sat us between two LOUD groups even tho I told them it was our anniversary (in the past they were very good about giving you privacy for special occasions) and it took 20 mins for the waiter to come take our order. In past times the captain took our order promptly and he would explain how everything was made and what wine or beer to pair things with so we were looking forward to that. Our appetizer was awful. They litteraly brought us white toast with the ends cut out for our meats and cheese tray. My smoked duck pasta was swimming in sauce and some might think that's a good thing but it's NOT. It was probabaly enought pasta to feed 3 or 4 and it was also very salty and garlicky so I sent it back and got a filet mignon which was very good but they gave me about a pound of asparagus and broccoli on the side, no presentation and the sauce was on the side. I just ate the steak because the veggies were not very appetizing and I was just... sad that we didn't have a captain. Lol. My husband's bison medallions had food just piled on top; no presentation whatsoever. By the end of the night we just took our dessert to go (because it was free since service was slow and food wasnt great and the laud people stayed there ALL NIGHT and the server could tell they were annoying us). Another thing i was looking forward to was the coffee! Their coffee had always been amazing but i figured it was probably not as good either and they were already closed by this time (that's how slow our server was) so we just went to our room, which I specifically booked at that hotel so we could go to the ranchers club and have a nice quiet romantic dinner and some wine and not have to worry about driving. All in all, we were looking forward to having a captian (amazing service), amazing food and to enjoy a romantic evening at a fancy restaurant with a quiet atmosphere but instead we got a server who knew nothing about the food or how to pair it, the food wasn't great (we could have gone to Texas roadhouse and gotten a good steak) and the atmosphere was just loud. For the price you pay you can just go to red lobster and have a nice server (no captain :( and good food with a casual atmosphere and spend half the money.

If you love steak this is your place!

James Murphy

One of the best steak houses in Albuquerque. My only feedback to management would be to update the decor a little bit. The service is amazing. Highly recommend the Caesar salad made at your table before the main course!

Don Kalinich

This place is awesome. The best place in ABQ for steak and classic steakhouse sides. The waitstaff is very attentive. Good bar selection. A bit pricey, but worth it.

Bill Gunter

Thankyou Jacy.... Great dinner, great night, memories made

Rob Gokee

Great service and steak. Quite possibly the best Caesar salad I've ever had. Appropriately priced.

Penelope Romanov

One of the only high caliber places to eat in Albuquerque. Great food and although on the high side, the price is affordable.

The Rancher's Club of Albuquerque used to be a high end restaurant - that is no more!! I confirmed my reservation with Debbie 3 times because I had a party of 14. I should have known my experience was not going to be good when the private room for my reservation was not set up. After shuffling tables and chairs around, we sat and received a complementary appetizer. It was delicious! We ordered drinks, then dinner. We realized that we were a large party and were expecting a little more than normal wait for our food, BUT 1 Hour is RIDICULOUS, especially because the restaurant was not full. When our food arrived, most of our parties food was cold. My food was delicious, but I ordered a soup and appetizer. Most of the people in my party were not complaining because it was a celebration dinner. However, afterward I was told that all the steaks were cold and so were the sides. Two dinner's were already comped because they were cold. After we finished our meals, we asked for our checks several times. After another hour, our checks were brought to our table. I would have left - not to skip out on the bill, but to hurry it along, but my mother and father-in-law frowned upon that. My sister went to talk to the manager on duty in private to let her know how much we were unhappy about the food and service. She offered to comp my sisters plate, but my sister said that was not right when everyone in our party was unhappy. The manager ended up giving up 50% off, but I don't think this was worth there for 3 1/2 hours. It was obvious there was not enough staff in that restaurant to accommodate our party. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN AND WILL LET OTHER'S KNOW WHAT I EXPERIENCED!!!!

Nina Gengenagel

The decor is a bit unusual, but the atmosphere and service are excellent! The steak was absolutely fabulous! Cooked perfectly, and tender. A bit expensive, but worth it.

CD Galle

Top notch elegant fare from local and regional ingredients.

Daniel Sullivan

Awesome food, great service, and chill atmosphere.

Dawn Renshaw

I made the mistake of ordering mussels in a specialty game meats restaurant. There was no pulp, only strings stuck to the inside of each shell. It reminded me of the scene in Christmas Vacation when Chevy Chase cuts the overcooked, dessicated turkey. I've ordered mussels at medium chain restaurants like Olive Garden for years and never encountered this. I will say my husband was thrilled with his plate of roasted mixed deer, bison and game sausage so lesson learned.

The service was great. Food was less desirable. Prime Rib was very tough. It's over priced for the quality of the food.

Great Atmosphere, food is excellent, and the service is perfect. Management made sure we were taken care of the entire time. I recommend this place, and will be going back for great service and exceptional food and drinks. My girlfriend was highly impressed.

Absolutely amazing. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

I really wanted to give this place a higher rating, however, I just can't. The service was great. Probably one of the better service-wise places in the state. The décor was retro and a bit dated, but I think it is part of the allure of the place. However, the food was average. For the prices they charge it was not worth it at all. The appetizer was okay- the toast looked, felt and tasted like generic white store bread. The duck was good on it but the carb pieces tasted mostly out of a bag or made of cheaper materials. The main dish was okay at best. I had the special hunter plate. The boar sausage was really dry and tasted microwaved, the bison was solid, but poorly seasoned and the venison again was solid, but nothing overwhelming. My wife the pasta carbonara which was huge- not a bad thing- but was drenched in cream- way too much to hide the lack of duck and other parts of the carbonara. It was a brick of sauce by the time we got home. I just found for the price, the quality was poor. I would have given it one star for the food, but the service was solid. The meal and overall was saved by the dessert. We had a sampler plate of ice cake and other such ice cream with cake type mix- it was great. But overall for the cost, definitely not worth it. I feel like you could get the same meal we got for about $80 per person, for $30 per person and actually get better quality of main course.

We went here last week and it was wonderful, Saturday night...ugh! There were five of us and all of our veggies were 1/2 warm, 1/2 cold. We found out this was due to the fact they were made in the afternoon and not reheated properly. Really?!!!??? For $30-$50 you can't make veg? Out of 5 meat dishes, 3 were unacceptable. My filet was overcooked, another filet was full of gristle, and the prime rib was not 12oz. and was brown-grey, as if it had been put into a microwave. It was so disappointing, especially since we had bragged about how good it was to our out of town guests. Done.

Dee Bean

We enjoyed the service and the old school feel.

Andrew Moenck

Overpriced. I have had better tasting steak at Texas Land and Cattle. I ordered 60oz of steak for 2 of us so i Could take some home. I probably got a total of 25oz. Poor misjugement by the server cutting the steak.

Doug Fisher

Not a good evening. I have never seen such a dour looking staff. It was like they were all pissed off at something. While our waitress was comptent she was far from friendly. The steak was tough. $48 for a New York Strip and it was tough; only ate half of it. The wife had Rack of Lamb and it was extremely fatty. DId we send them back, no. Decided to chalk it up to a bad choice on our part and not come back. Trouble is we have been there numerous times some years before and had great service and food. Lost it's luster

Robert Fullam

This is a fine restaurant that specializes in steaks and wild game meats, all cooked on a wood fired grill. So, I ordered their Hunter's Mixed Grill. This was a huge dish that sported elk steak, venison steak and wild boar sausages, with lots of asparagus and roasted fingerling potatoes. It was out of this world delicious. The service was also excellent, and my server, Andrea ("Andy"), was very attentive, friendly and professional. I highly recommend the Ranchers Club.

Went in for my anniversary gorgeous decor and atmosphere the price is what you'd expect apps were great but my risotto was under cooked raw rice and chicken was burnt. My husband's dinner was not much better.

James Hanson

The food was delicious and the atmosphere is unique and fun.

Bob Brim

Food was a 4 star, but service was poor. Server had 5 tables to care for and it got slower and slower. Waited 30 minutes to clear entree dishes and obviously didn't want coffee or dessert. Third visit over several years, but will probably be our last.

Sara Draper

Thanksgiving menu left a lot to be desired compared to the last two years. Turkey was salty and ham overcooked and dry. Appetizers were good and our waitress was nice. Chocolate truffles were to die for.

James Bond

The gold standard in steakhouses. Ranchers Club manages to stay at the top of its game indefinitely. When you glance around the room it is not an anomaly to see a few Hollywood stars. 11/10!

We had reservations. Service was slow took a half an hour to get 2 glasses of wine! Food took nearly 45 minutes. Very expensive for such bad service

Jacqueline Anslow

For the much needed morale boost. RANCHERS CLUB FOR THE WIN!! The atmosphere is adorable. Cowboy theme with bisons and paintings on the walls. Food options are plenty and huge portions. We enjoyed each course immensely. Bar with piano & Singer. Walked into a "RATT pack feel".... Amazing service.... Fun and great food. Prices are worth the quality and service. If you know the care and quality of the food that are on the plates... You get get that in every bite. Very much enjoyed the experience. Thank you!

My wife and I returned to the Rancher's Club last night after a lapse of several years. The crab cake appetizer, the Zinfindel wine, and the after dinner mints were outstanding, and the service was good. But the rest of the experience was disappointing. Many of the more interesting items had been removed from the dinner menu (e.g., heirloom grain salad and beet salad with goat cheese) and the more interesting steak sauces (e.g., bernaise, holandaise,) had been eliminated. The menu was brief and dull, dull, dull, as was the food. The present fare appeared to have been designed and prepared by a cook at an average neighborhood restaurant, not by a chef at a great restaurant, which is what the Rancher's Club claims to be. Our steaks, which were quite good but not outstanding, were served with steamed carrots and cauliflower as the side vegies -- boring and rather tasteless. Steamed vegetables are what one expects at Joe's diner. And one can find good steaks elsewhere at half the price, with an equivalent experience. To be blunt, the food and ambiance were not worth the price.

Shawnase Rambes

Decor is the same as 40 years ago..tuna tartar was amazing, calamari had a sweet and sour glaze..not a fan..bread was perfect. Ordered filet and was really salty, potatoes and lobster tail. For almost 250 dollars I wasn't impressed at all! Our server was the BEST! Had tried dinner there 5 years ago and wasn't impressed but wanted to try again...Will only go again for drinks,

Monique Le Febre

Food was below average and the prices are outrageous. The steak was salty (said my husband) I had the stuffed salmon and the contents it was stuffed with was cold and dry. The only good thing about this place was the bread and calamari. Much better places to go for half of the price.

I agree with the most recent review regarding price AND I have another complaint. The meal we had was close to $175 which for Albuquerque IS outrageous. Yes, the service was excellent and the atmosphere excellent but the food was just "good" and not terrific. HERE is the big complaint. For THOSE prices would you expect to have the hotel rent out a huge room next to the restaurant (right next to it) for an AA meeting with 100 people dressed in sandals and shorts or even LESS formally...like "holey" tee shirts? I'm all in favor of AA meetings and people who need it getting support but I do not think it is appropriate to host the meeting immediately adjacent to a restaurant charging nearly $200 a dinner. They should have moved the meeting to a room not so near the restaurant. It just made the evening feel like a much cheaper evening. Again, this could just as well have been "bicycle riders" of Albuquerque who might have dressed similarly. It just isn't what you expect next to one of the priciest restaurants in the city. AND the food isn't that great.

Katie Henricksen

Fantastic food, service and ambience. We plan trips so we can enjoy eating and staying here.

dayton garcia

Terrible tasting steak they don’t have a dry aged steak anymore. I did not enjoy one course here trust me don’t go here

Marie R Etsitty Nez

The food was great. My husband promised me wonderful birthday dinner and I enjoyed the dinner. The staff was so kind. Thank you.

The lounge gets me every time... I have been here about 5 times in my life and each time I say, " I need to come here more often. The leather, cowhides, wood, Sinatra, just gets me. Throwback and I love it. Meal was good, not exceptional, but okay. Filet mignon was tender, potatoes and kale a little bland. Service was good. 4.5 stars, my love of the lounge pushed it to the 5.

J. Michaels

Unfortunately, the Ranchers Club is stuck in a bygone era. With extreme menu limitations, decor that is dated, and a wait staff that does not know what the specials are or much about the menu, unfortunately the experience was not a great one. Staff was slow, yet there were only 10 tables occupied on a Saturday night. My wife had pasta, which was not appetizing at all, I had a rib eye, the smell of which was an immediate turn off. Its as if they poured liquid smoke on it and it just simply was overpowering. Cost of the meal was reasonable but the food completely underwhelming. I wish they would revamp their menu, get a new chef, and teach their wait staff to work faster and to have more knowledge. Its doubtful we will go back any time soon. Such a disappointment, like so many others here have posted . Unless major changes are made, we are done and thats sad. Ranchers is an Albuquerque institution which unfortunately needs to shake off the crazy and step it up.

Bianca Wormald

I went in for a glass of wine, and Jacob told me about the Sea Bass special. I was sold. It was one of the best dinners I’ve had in a long time. I’ll be honest, I am NOT a seafood lover! The service was above par and I will be back again!

Julio Aguilar-Chang

Overall the steaks were average, not bad but not great either given the price they charge for them. For the same price ($35-$45) I have had much better steaks in Santa Fe with much better service and ambiance. This restaurant is fine, just not worth the prices they charge.

Amanda Rachau

Great food! Service was good! The atmosphere was like an old steakhouse, pretty unique.

Bigboibob

It is listed as a strip club

Jane Isabel

Single female travelling solo and I was looking for a great steak dinner ... I sat at the bar and was extremely happy with the service and the food! I kind of liked the decor ... but then I am used to estalishments like this on the West.... steak, sides, drinks, dessert and coffee was worth every penny!

phillip walck

Service was excellent ! Food was delicious and the atmosphere was very good. Highly recommended especially for a hot date.

ron k

As always Ranchers Club delivers wonderful food with amazing service. I have dined here several times and have yet to find a complaint. From the melt-in-your-mouth crab cakes to the perfectly grilled steak, the dinner faire has the quality expected from this jewel of Albuquerque. Additionally the service is impeccable, with multiple servers available for your table at all times without being intrusive. I look forward to my next visit!

Teresa Stone

Great food, service is good.

Mom B

Expensive but worth it for special occasions. Old school atmosphere.

Daniela Sánchez

This place is really great, being there made feel insde an old movie. Drinks and food are good as well.

Nadine Brodd

The place used to be good 20 years ago . It really sucks now , the food is horrible and the service was even worse . We will never ever go there again, it was a nightmare! Very very disappointed. They need to shut it down .

Lorelei A

Everything exceeded my expectations

Aaron Ezekiel

Wonderful meal as usual. Walk into the time warp of a 1970s era super club/steakhouse

Kirt Hickman

The restaurant was cold. The hostess appeared to be drunk. The service was slow (to the point of being negligent), the steak was grossly under-cooked, and we could have purchased an equivalent dessert in the frozen food section at Costco. After paying nearly $170 for dinner (for two), my wife and I left there hungry because we couldn't eat the food. Try a cheaper steak house. You'll likely get much better food and much better service at a much more reasonable price.

Moira Gleen

Nice atmosphere good oysters rockerfeller cocktailorder wrong brought me gin martini with olive I had asked for lemon twist then had to request again after dinner served for my glass of wine I had previously ordered, super watery wine $12 glass tasted flat like bottle had been opened weeks ago. Then it we were less than enamoured with dinner as it was tasteless watery Mac and crab cheese no visible crab , steaks were undercooked and raw sent back and they took my dinner off tab, $35 for 8oz sirloin no presentation for the dinner just 3 colored cauliflower boiled too much with the steak and small dish of Mac and cheese sans any visible crab. Totally disappointing and at 6;30 on Friday night only 4 out of 30 tables occupied now we know why. Do not go there cook is worthless bartender is lacking in any skill and service was Meh at best.

Kaigh Taylor

I have been to the Rachers Club at least four times before my visit on 4/15/2017. Until tonight, I would have named it one of Albuquerque's best steakhouses. But it's obvious the managent, the serving staff and kitchen crew have all been replaced. And with those replacements the quality of this establishment has dropped substantially. It's truly a shame, I used to brag about this restaurant,. Now, I would recommend it as a last resort.

This used to be THE PLACE! Now it’s just plain mediocre and expensive. We used to eat here once a month. Now we’re down to once a year...always hopeful it’s improved...but alas, not over the last 3 years...too bad
