Great food. Would be 5 star if service was a little faster. Would definitely return. Chicken salad & burgers were real good. Poutine was good.
The jerk chicken salad was awesome! Reasonably priced. Good door to watch the game.
Best happy hour on the mountain
The Meatloaf (not a sandwich) poutine was served on a piece of paper for, no reason. The cheese curds were really just like melted Swiss over the fries that wouldn’t come off the paper, so you couldn’t eat the fries without also eating wax paper. The meatloaf had the same consistency as a Rubber Made container. I’ve never seen meatloaf that looked as flat surfaced as the container it came frozen in. I really felt taken for $17. The Nachos weren’t even layered. It was just a whole bag of chips, dumped out and then lightly garnished with cheese and chicken. The venue was cool, and the beer was cold 2 stars for cold beer.
A great little joint to go to. Nice atmosphere and good people.
Best nachos. Good music!
Sorry for the half eaten pictures. I almost forgot to take some. The service and food were both mediocre, but this wasn’t their busy season so they might be better in the winter. Also, the ping pong paddles are hard so they aren’t that good.
Best Reuben I have ever had. I would have given 5 stars if they had a sour beer available. Great staff, great food. I'll be back when the snow flies.
Nice mid-day stop for lunch with a good selection of beers. My hamburger was excellent. I was there in the off-season and conditions may be different during peak ski times.
Awesome staff
Local joint with lower prices and stiffer drinks. Favorite in Big Sky. Gets crowded at night and a decent choice for lunch too.
Great place to go for food and drinks
Good bar with good food to get after a long day of skiing.
Delicious veggie burger! Cold beer. Nice staff
you gotta go
Great food for a bar. Ling wait time to get the food
Horrible experience. We came for dinner as this was recommended by the hotel and the menu looked good. From the beginning the waitress was rude. When one of my family members asked for a straw the waitress basically threw the straw, no paper or anything to cover it, into her cup and walked away. She then began to make comments towards my children that were uncalled for. As our food came the music that was playing, so loudly that you couldn't speak over it, began shouting f*** this and call them b**ches and nig*er. Definitely not something adults or children should be listening to, but as an adult you can make that choice. I have to be responsible for my kids. So we asked them to change the music and they stated "this is a bar" and then proceeded to play the same song again. I took my children out and the rest of the party boxed up our food. I don't expect anything nor do I feel like I'm entitled and my children should be able to eat anywhere. I know some places are not family friendly and I respect that. What I have no respect for, is people who act like you're the problem. If you don't want kids in your establishment make it simple, don't have a kids menu and/or place a sign saying no kids. It doesn't take much brain power to do either. Instead, people who spend their money at the establishment are treated poorly and forced to eat cold food in their hotel room because your staff can't handle two well behaved children. And I'm incredibly disappointed the resort allows this type of "service". For anyone who is thinking of going - save your time and money. Otherwise you're paying to be treated poorly and get mediocre food. Can't say this enough - STAY AWAY!
Best bar in big sky hands down and the nachos rule
Friendly bartenders.
Food was decent, price seemed high but it is in the lodge at Big Sky... so, I guess that’s to he expected. Nothing to write home about, but not bad either. I would go again. I would recommend.
Pulled into scissorbills in the midst of a late night blizzard and found a gaggle of ski bums sweetly smelling of ganja. Good people, and the cloying cannabis aroma seemed to facilitate, rather than forestall, the lively conversations had there. 5 stars for atmosphere, but keep in mind this is a shot-and-beer kind of bar--don't bug the bartenders with your martinin drinks dear . . .
Well, we tried scissor-bills the other night for the first time and about 2 years and it reminded us why we haven't gone back in so long. Some drunk guy talking about how we was fighting in Syria came and just sat at our table and became very hostile and rude and we paid $7 for a margarita that was probably the worst we've had in a very long time. Bartender just poured tequila and margarita mix into a cup with no salt didn't even Stir It. It's like they weren't even trying. Unless you're a local looking for a relatively cheap beer and fight, don't go here
Terrible service. Danielle is angry at her job. Many other places to go that are polite and happy.
You have to get the pot pie. Best I've ever had.
Local bar, decent food, great atmosphere.
Nope won’t bother! The waitresses were to concerned with their own eating at the bar in front of people verses serving us, enough said. Made me the customer feel like it was my problem that the wax paper stuck to poutine didn’t offer to replace it, just the attitude of eat it!
The (only) local dive up at the resort. Drinks are cheap and food is bar food. Nice spot to post up either apres ski or after dinner for late night drinks.
Nice slope side dive bar. Good beee. Got the nachos for the win.
Amazing staff!
Local spot
I went here to meet a friend. It was HORRIBLE! The bar tender so mean I walked out into the hall and started crying. I literally was in the bar for 15 minute and I went up to see what was taking so long for my husband to get served; the server started yelling at me and I hadn't even talked to her yet. NEVER, NEVER GO THERE!!!
The worst food and drink experience I've ever had. Longest wait times, exhausted and rude employees. An hour and a half wait on food so we just left. Most terrible experience at a bar/saloon I've ever had will not be coming back. Thanks -Riley
Nachos are bomb
Food was good. Nachos were huge and can be easily shared with the whole table. Service was a little slow however.
That hometown pub feel at resort prices
Good people and good food!
We've been going to Big Sky for years and frequent Scissor Bills due to the excellent food and drinks. However, lately the service has been terrible and beyond rude. The last three times our experience has been ruined by the waitresses having a bad attitude and not caring about the customer's experience. It's a bummer to see a great place go downhill.
Fun Apres Ski bar :) definitely a locals vibe. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We brought our 3 boys 10, 12 & 13 they loved it. There is a brownie/ice cream dessert that we had to actually go back for the next night. Burgers were good. I had a great salad. Nachos were huge and yummy. On the third floor so it's a hike, but worth it. Looked like they had a small stage for live music overall a great family stop apres ski.
Had a great time.
I went there twice during my stay, first on the weekend they were very busy and the staff seemed overwhelmed, But the food was good. Had a great time during the week.
Fun place! Too many stairs though
Great local spot for food and drinks. Staff is friendly and good atmosphere for social drinking.
Awesome local bar
Simple bar right in the mountain village. Gotta climb up to the third floor to access.
If I could rate this place ZERO stars, I would. I came here with my family and the service was horrible. They added an 18% gratitude to our table of 8 people and our waitress was absolutely HORRIBLE. We payed with cash and asked for change back but she didn’t give us our change back. She disappeared for over 20 minutes. On top of that after we put in our food order, it took over 45 minutes to get our food. Additionally, people who came in after us got their drinks, appetizers, meals, and LEFT before we even got our food. My father ordered a brandy coke and the waitress served him something with bourbon, nothing near what he ordered. My mother ordered the poutine and the plastic paper stuck to the poutine. When the waitress was confronted about the wrong drink and the meal, she made up obvious excuses. At the end of the meal, we asked to speak to the manager and the waitress refused. After a few more minutes, the manager came over. The manager was EVEN WORSE than the waitress. She wasn’t understanding and claimed that the poutine has never had that issue before. Just a very disappointing experience. WILL NOT be coming back here.
Food was good. Staff did their job but wasn't personable. Good job bringing us back again.
Very poor service. Waitress was rude while taking orders. After waiting for waitress to take order profane rap music started playing. This offensive to adults but there were children in the bar eating dinner. When asked to turn music off or change songs their only response was that this was a bar first and not a restaurant. Bartender refused to change songs and acted mad because we asked for to go boxes. We didn't want kids exposed to "fu#@ and bi@#&" all havesorts of racial words. I should walked out but wanted to do the right thing and pay for food we ordered. This place was recommended by hotel staff next door. If you are not kid friendly then state it at the door and take kids menu away from hotels who send you business. Why do you have a business at a resort hotel and expect families not to visit. Do not give this place your hard earned money. Spend it at any of the other fabolouse restaurants on the mountain. Tim Patterson
Great bar! Best pho in town!
Awful. Don't go here.
Best nachos and beer at Big Sky
Great place
Best atmosphere, food, and drinks on the mountain.
Local spot, Baddest Man gets the next available table, Even if you were there first, so called first come first served, luckily I brought my Cage fighters... Just don't show fear and you'll be OK...food and beer was good...
Enjoyed the food and good beer selection.
The food here is delicious. I recommend the nachos or the Cowboy Burger.
Took 1.5 hour for a lunch meal. Only 1 server. Needed at least 2.
The rare burger worth the on mountain price.
No frills, all chills
(Translated by Google) Great after ski place (Original) Great apres ski place
Great
Drunk bar tender, was a total nuckle head. Don't come to this bar unless your a local.
It's a place full of great food and drinks. I saw a dog there the last time I went and it took it to the next level
Local bar where the cool kids work. Good food and specials.
Amazing burgers and Nachos. Friendly attentative staff. Good beer and cider selection
Always enjoy a lunch break here when skiing.
$4 PBR and best Nacho's
Burgers were marginal but the wings were great!
Great place to hang out
Fun and casual
I love this place. It is by far the best place to grab a quick beer and not pay an arm and a leg for it. The bartenders are awesome and the service is the best! Great atmosphere and great food. The best place on the mountain by far.
I love this place great food and drinks
Great food and drinks
The Thirsty Turtle is an excellent place to throw back some cerrs after a long day of shredding. Free refills on freshies.
Food is ok for pub food. Girl behind the bar was rude and they played inappropriate music for kids or a family to be in. And when asked if the music could be turned I was told “this is a bar you know.” Other families were walking out from their tables when the music started. Post a sign if that’s how your establishment is going to be.
The hummus plate is amazing. Most of the bartenders are super friendly. Recommended for lunch.
Not kid friendly from what yelp says. Loud rap music with inappropriate language. Kids and I waited 5 minutes to order drinks and an appetizer while the waitress was talking with a group at one of the other only two occupied tables. Ended up walking out and went to the cabin.
Understaffed. Overrated. Worst part is the owner is always sitting at the bar drinking while the waitstaff is slammed.
Fun spot, but kinda crowded. Food was decent, but the service was a little slow and it's expensive
The food was fantastic!
Was good, but wanted fried food... Fryer was down.
Good pub food, always some good beers on tap, and excellent service. Our waitress last night was the only one in there with a full house - still very quick service and super nice!
Bartender was very rude, drinks are over priced and the atmosphere absolutely sucks. I would rather go to any bar at big sky. Big thumbs down, I hope anyone who wants the perfect vacation will avoid this place.
Great bar. Fun place.
Great apres ski atmosphere and the best nachos ever!
Perfect for apres-ski, awesome staff with great beers and drinks. Most importantly the best chicken wings I have ever tasted.
Awesome atmosphere. Great town. Go during off season
hands down best food, drinks and crowd in big sky. cant ask for anything more from a ski town watering hole
Great place for nachos and Naan bread pizzas. We went here after receiving a recommendation from a local about their huge nachos and were not disappointed. Very hearty portions on the toppings including the steak. The Naan Bread BBQ pizza was delicious. Hadn’t heard of Naan Bread Pizza before but it was just as tasty as it sounds.
Great food and drink without resort prices.
Great place to kick back. Lunch was great. Order the Nacho's and split it, it more than two can eat.
Great atmosphere, beer and live music.
Fresh cut, crispy fries. Hand made burgers with great quality beef!
Good beer specials and reasonably priced beers for being on the mountain. A mountain host told us to come here and we’ll be back for sure!
My favorite bar on the mountain. Good burger and beer and booze
Great food. Loud bar ambiance.
Poor service, left after 15 minutes.
My favorite spot to go for a beer and a snack in winter after a super-awesome-powder day!
Western decor looking towards the Big Sky Village. And those incredible mountains.
Scissorbills! One of the gems and part of the true Big Sky atmosphere bar/saloon/restaurants. 1st, actually 2 menu items tie for first: their best of the West's best hamburgers and fries And also their amazing nachos. Definitely add chicken or beef and you'll come back for more. I know cause I drive 1100 miles to Big Sky for skiing and the Big Sky bars like Scissorbills. They have a nice selection of custom Brews, mountain hot drinks and classic wines. You'll enjoy the food, drink, and Big Sky views. 5 Stars.
Great little ski town bar and grill. Service was awesome, food just okay.
To Bill & friends.... Cheers!
Great place to stop and have a drink at. Best burger i have had at any ski resort. Also a big time employee hang out
Love the atmosphere figuratively and literally. Great service
A nice place on the slopes with a good beer selection and huge nacho platters.
Nice dive bar
Good people, fair price ..
Scissorbills menu is limited. What they do have is decent in quality, but there are better options in the village or on the mountain. The cost is among the most reasonable of mountain village dining establishments. When I was there the place was almost empty. The bartender was the only server, however she was friendly enough. It may be worth stopping by if other places are crowded or for variety.
You know the scenario... You're sitting on the couch thinking about going out and not knowing what to do. You think to yourself "I wish there was a place that served good drinks, dank food and let me demonstrate my supreme ping pong skills." Well wait no longer... Scissor Bills is here to fulfill ALL your mountain top needs!! Belly up to the bar, procure your preferred libation and settle into the last best place not run by the evil empire. You can thank me later
Great staff, wonderful selection of ice cold brews. Very friendly and knowledgeable, this is our 2nd time back in 72 hours. 10/10, would recommend.
Good place to get a beer and grub after skiing. Not pretentious.
Horrible service - Our family of six walked in and told by bartender to seat ourselves and we did. We then sat there for 25 mins looking for someone to even acknowledge we were there. No one ever did and it wasn't even that busy.
Good bar, decent food.
They love IKON. For sure ya, they love it. Beautiful people in the world.
Great service, and apres.
Good food. Great beer.
