Great live music and food. Perfect for a Mississippi Delta blues experience.
Just see if doing blues trail or if not. Great music fun. Great atmosphere.
Overhyped place. The food was not to good. They dumped all the starters and mains at the same moment on our table. Not nice. Food itself was just greasy, mostly deepfried grub. Dissapointing.
I absolutely love this place. Food is great. Service is great. Love the look and design of the building. Inside is awesome. I rate it a 10. I am from Arkansas.

It's just OK. If you're here for blues you'd be better off going to Red's. If you're here for food you'd be better off going to Abe's. If you want to say you've been to Morgan Freeman's club then come here.
Ziemlich gelangweilte und desinteressierte Kellnerin.Essen und Location sind ebenso wie die Preise top.
The band was great, the cover was low, the beer was cold. I was there too late to try the food, maybe next time. They have occasional drink specials now, the special on the Friday night I went was PBR or MGD cans for $2.50.
Good food! Our service was great! Music was great, as well! Really enjoyed ourselves!
Good service, good food, good beer, awesome blues. If you're visiting Clarksdale do yourself a favor and check it out.
The service was terrible and food was ok and the music was good and other than that I hated the time I spent there and I absolutely hated it and I’m not coming back I was so mad I did not even what to pay.
Don’t go. Not friendly. Not professional. They wouldn’t refund our $ after 5 min of entry. We still had our coats on and the band didn’t even play 1 song. Manager Candy wouldn’t face us. « We were told she just left out the back door ».
We stayed upstairs for 2 nights, let me tell you that a book should not be judged by its cover. The rooms were immaculate and gigantic, and a keypad for locking your door. Extremely nice, was not expecting this.
Don't be put off by the outside of the club. Great entertainment and food.
Amazing. Great crowd and ambient. The bands and the vibe of the venue is amazing. Definitely a place to visit.
Great place with good live blues
Worst service ever. Not crowded at all and because the two bartenders stayed on their phones, it took forever to get a beer with them standing a foot in front of you. Waiters/staff ignoring tables and the people walking in the door. Blues were great but even the singer couldn’t get a coke. Don’t waste your time. I give this a solid ground ZERO revue. Morgan Freeman should take his name off of this place to avoid further embarrassment.
Great food and awesome atmosphere!
Very very nice
If you love live blues , great food, good drinks & great company...this is the place for you!
Pretty fun and some good music not the best joint in town but one to check out.
Music Only. Food 1 star
Hidden behind some old Sofas
My home town great place to visit
Good food, good drinks, leave your name on the table :)
Fun,Fun a must see place
I love the Blues Bands that come through here! Great place to take visiting friends. Best fried pickles in the universe! Decent beer selection, offering many local choices. The negative reviews that you read about poor/slow service are consistently true (I’ve been here 10+ times and server staff is 100% underperforming other places), but you must consider this place’s intent: music venue, NOT fast food.
This is one of my most frequented destinations. If you're looking for great music, great food, in a relaxing and inviting environment - this is the place! There is nothing fancy here, and rightfully so. It's the kind of place you can let loose without any cares in the world. I have brought many friends and family members here and every single one of them fall in love with the place. If possible, book a room upstairs in advance so you don't have to travel far at night. There's plenty to do in the area, and if you are a blues fan (which you darn well should be), there's no end to the local shops, juke joints, and music venues nearby. I like to spend 3 nights and 4 days generally so I can take my time and visit all that I can. Also, there's always a chance of bumping into Morgan Freemon. He's a terrific guy if you get the opportunity to meet him. And don't forget to sign your name on the wall - if you can find a place.
Had a great lunch experience.
Food good, prices reasonable, atmosphere really cool, friendly service.
Rock and Roll
Simply the best
Great atmosphere. But food and service has slipped a lot over the past year.
I REALLY ENJOYED MYSELF! LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! Food! The People and DECOR!!
Pretty good food. Next door to blues museum
Listen to great blues and eat food from the American south.
Morgan Freeman's bar is a fun place to hangout. Locals and staff were very friendly to tourists, live music was also good. Two pool tables and a good selection of big brand beers.
This bar becomes so fantastic when you don't know what you can expect of it: so many movement and life in an old house facade. Oh... the inside contents is much more you think it's possible. So, go on and enjoy it.
My wife and I stayed @ GZBC (above the club) for 2 nights @ the end of April (2014). Great welcoming folks who are are warm & extremely down-to-earth friendly. We felt right at home. The entertainment was solid and so was the chow. Great Bang for the Buck! We've traveled all over the world in our lifetime & if you love people, (real people) and meeting folks from far & wide with a similar affection for THE BLUES...then this is the place to stay! Mike & Terry P.S. Don't miss Red's either while you're there. It's just across the tracks.

We stopped by there on the way back from my son's graduation at Delta State. It took 45 minutes to get the appetizers we ordered and an hour and a half to get our meal. The food was really good' but the waitress we had acted like she didn't care if we were waited on or not. Even after the horrible service they only offered to take 20% off our bill, As bad as the service was it should have been on the house. I will never go back, We could be treated that way anywhere. Very disappointed,
Go for the music. Get some good drinks. The food is hit or miss. The service is often a miss. This club stays packed. The venue is fun and lively. I haven't had food there that I finished and the wait staff is often dismissive and slow, so I prefer just going to get my own drinks at the bar. This is definitely a locale you should hit if you're in Clarksdale, but think of it as a bar and music venue, not a restaurant.
Nice joint, food okay, pulled pork is sliced not pulled.
Over priced drinks
I/we visited this club on 7-11-2018. I must say that it really is authentic in decor as well as the waitress that took our order and served our food. BKA Resa, was as genuinely friendly and helpful on our visit as she could be. Graffiti was everywhere. This and that on the walls and even in the restrooms. Wild and crazy in a very good way on the inside and outside. I love the place. Thanks Resa!
Great place. Love all the history.
The place is awesome, the aesthetic, the food, etc. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that service was horrible (but I think it was just our waitress, the others seemed fine)
What a MOST excellent time! Come for the music
El local es muy guapo! Pero la música de momento es una lata de sardinas. Ufff si que mal, no tuvimos suerte con la música. Y encima te hacen pagar 5 dolares x persona a más de lo que consumas. El lugar me encanto pero nafa mas.
The music is good and the drinks are reasonable atmosphere is great
Great atmosphere.
30 minutes to get a beer on a moderately busy night is pretty ridiculous
Great music. Morgan Freeman dropped in for a birthday party. Got to visit with bluesman Josh "Razorblade" Stewart.
I have wanted to go here for a long time. Finally got to! Love this place and will be back!
I hate to give a negative review because this place was pretty cool; good atmosphere, history and not a bad band playing. But it's a total tourist trap! Got a pitcher of their cheapest lager, they charged it as 4 drinks ($24+tip) and it only had 3 drinks worth. No wonder there's no locals there
Bill was great!
Amazing
A neat place to see but the food was great!
My experience was great, the band sweet Tea was great,it's a good place to go to hear the blues no violence no profanity no drugs no smoking inside the building no problems only $10 admission per person must be 21 the food is good and reasonable,so if you like blues and good clean fun (Ground Zero Clarksdale MS) is the place to be!
A must visit in Clarksdale!
Seeing Super Chikan play at Ground Zero is an essential life experience.
Great blues and nice bbq
Great blues joint! Morgan Freeman's joint!
Burgers are not edible, the "blues" band is - well, I'm not gonna say. My last time at this tourist trap. Ground Zero is doing the legacy of this great African-American art form - the Blues - no favour. What my friends and I had to listen to, was frankly unbearable. Eat up (or not) and outta here!!!!#disrespectingthebluesanditsrealplayers!!
Good blues n wonderful atmosphere
Took my sweetie to Clarksdale,MS for Valentines Day! What a treat! Hometown service! Fried grits for appetizer, ribeye special grilled on the front porch AND Fried Snickers a la mode for dessert! Great blues jam that could headline any festival!
BEST BAR B Q I EVER TASTED. WAITRESS VERY SWEET AND NICE...WISHED I COULD EAT HERE EVERY NIGHT.... JUST PASSING THROUGH ON VACATION FROM DENVER, CO. IN FACT IT IS A HELL OF ALOT BETTER THAN FAMOUS RENDEZVOUS IN MEMPHIS TN. .. .
Love this place! Great pulled pork sandwich. Great southern hospitality
Best blues joint, coolest atmosphere, funky chic, best of the blues.
Music
OMG I think I might be the most fortunate person alive for this one reason. I actually am employed at G.Z., which is how I refer to this job. By far the best and most favorite job I have ever had. On the other hand it does not pay much, and you really gotta love your job to put up with the soap opera type atmosphere of a family managed business. I will tell you all that if you are looking to have a real fun and memorable experience, and you love the blues, then this is definitely the place to visit.
Worst experience. Called ahead to reserve a table for a large group. The restaurant stated they could accommodate. Clearly this was not the case because the waitress came out to check on the table and didn't realize we did not receive our meals. After cancelling the order because the rest of the group finished eating, the owner and manager attempted to make me pay for food I did not receive. Horrible customer service. I will never return!
Groundzero needs to start it all over again. We arrived at the restaurant around 1 and when we got there I got out to take pictures so when we finally sat down it was 15 after one. We didn't get service or drinks until 1:45. After she got our order she went to the next table to get their order. So that's adding more time for my food to get sent back to the kitchen. I finally hear a ticket print at the back at 1:58. I kept up with the time because I could tell they were badly understaffed. The one server/runner was wearing flip-flops. She had to pour some more cups of ranch and after she topped them off she liked her fingers. I could hear her lips smacked. My skin crawled. I got up to tell the only bartender and cashier but she was so busy. So I just walked off and said I was going to send in my horrible experience. I also forgot to mention no one was wearing hair nets. The guys in the back cooking weren't even wearing non slip shoes. One guy even had on And1 basketball shorts. Is that a proper uniform? I sure hope no one else has to experience this horrible place. One guy even walked up and got his own food because it was taking them too long to bring it out. The cashier said I wasn't prepared for this. Honey it's labor day weekend you should've been ready...... but even after all the negative the food was really good. We both ordered burgers and they were awesome. Also a customer sitting next to us found a Corona bottle cap in the bottomed of her sweet tea. I'm just done.
Loved it!
Lugar espectacular. Solo con entrar ya te envuelve un ambiente de música y buen ambiente. La decoración es muy especial y la música simplemente espectacular.
Incredible place, incredible food & INCREDIBLE BLUES!!!!
Two months ago called to make reservation for Harvest Festival no they don't take them I was told Arrived early today at 2:30 asked to make a reservation no reservation allowed So get here at 5:30 and guess what six tables reserved each table holding 8 to 16 people only 7 tables open and some of the 7 hold 2 people lots if angry people Need to get your act together Long drive to find no where to seat Won't ever come back
Blues nirvana
Awesome place
Scenic and good fried foods.
Great place to go for authentic blues music and good food and drink
Great ppl great servers awesome food just a downhome place!!!
Stumbled across Ground Zero by accident after visiting The Crossroads.Had a great time good beer and fantastic music !! What more could you ask for !!
The best place ever to see the blues!!
(Translated by Google) The best place to taste the blues and the burgers are excellent (Original) Le meilleur endroit pour goûter au blues et les hamburgers sont excellents
Interior feels like an authentic blues bar. Decent selection of beers, but they're challenged to serve the brand you've ordered and paid for. But the biggest issue we had was that they closed up and sent us out into the 90degree heat at 2 in the afternoon.
I want to move to Clarksdale just to move into Ground Zero. It's just the right thing to do, considering all of the deliciousness and character this spot inhabits. Okay, not really. True story: I am all about this restaurant. The sweet lady who welcomes you during lunch is half of the reason for the great experience. She makes you feel like you're at home the moment you enter the restaurant. She offered incredible menu suggestions and knew that menu through and through. The food is ruh-diculous and the ambiance is organic and perfectly imperfect. Go to Ground Zero, but be sure someone or something can peel you away. I don't think I would ever leave if I saw a band on that stage. I can't go back or I'll get sucked into their vortex of perfection. Glad I had to go to work. P.S. "Basic Burger with Cheese" for life!
Terrible experience. Got chased out this afternoon by an oaf. I spent an hour writing the detail up but lost it before I could post I will post this and update with the detail later
We love Ground Zero.....can't wait to get back there. Great venue, good food and friendly staff.
This place is legit. Decent good, good drinks and views
Always a great place... Service is fantastic
Un autèntic blues club! Bon ambient, bona música, que més puc dir... si, era el que estava buscant!
12/29 2018 Really good ole blues bar, with decent food. I was scared by some of these other reviews, and actually was hesitant to go, but decided to try it anyway. I'm glad that I did. My wife and 3 young daughters really enjoyed the place and the food as well. NO COVER CHARGE at all during the afternoon that I was there for lunch, call before you go if that's a make or break for you. There may be cover charges at night when the bigger bands play, but none for the afternoon music. There was a wedding party there, other locals just drinking listening to the band. If you're not up tight, you will likely really like this place. My kids played pool at the free pool tables while we waited for our food. Our waitress T was very nice, and a pleasure to talk to. I asked for my Highway 61 burger done medium, it came out perfectly cooked, a little pink inside as I love my burger. The nachos with pulled pork was my wife's choice, and was a huge portion, also delicious. The kids were happy with there kids meals as well. Our total bill was $35. (No drinks, just water drinkers here) so not expensive at all. This is my first review, and I felt compelled to share my experience at Ground Zero because I really liked the place, and recommend trying it for yourself, you'll be glad you did.
Fantastic had a great time nice food awesome music
Very nice entertainment spot were all people can mingled.
Great music and great food!
This place is awesome. Great company and excellent blues music!!!
(Translated by Google) In Clarksdale I don't think we go for tourism ... if you happen to be around here, a ride to the Ground Zero Blues Club you have to do it. The restaurant offers live music, a lived-in ambience and typical American-style brewery / fast food cuisine, perhaps a little less blues ... the venue is partly owned by Morgan Freeman. Enjoy! Enjoy!
Grass roots Blues Club.....Very evocative. ...wish we could have gone there on an evening.
Best Catfish I've ever had. Nice people working the bar. Lots of character.
Wonderful atmosphere. Nostalgic decor. Friendly staff. Owner was very nice.
We had a wonderful time. Friendly staff, great service and the food was delicious. Looking forward to driving down again in the near future.
Music was great, BBQ was average.
Slow service, good food, great atmosphere
The catfish platter gave me life without getting drunk... G baby enjoyed her meal a great family place in day time
Ok great music
Always a great time with friends!
Good food and live music. The wait for food is long though.
Lovely atmosphere ,lovely food & good music we had a great time .
My wife and I was here 2 years ago. It was early when we arrived, so we ordered a few beers and some catfish. Beer was cold, food was good. We love the atmosphere and the entertainment was just as good as we saw on Beale St that following weekend.
Great atmosphere but Sprint has no cell phone service in Clarksdale, MS. no cell no GPS and it is in the cotton fields. Didn't try the food but the local draft beer was great!!!
Love the live music. Stiff drinks and good bar food. Co-Owner (not Morgan Freeman) is the nicest guy. Staff are fantastic.
This absolutely the place to be in Clarksdale! It doesn't get anymore fun than this!
Haven't made it there yet but will there next weekend. Lifetime dream for me. I know it is awesome!
Sorry to say, but forget this place. The band wasn't ready. Mics would not work. The sound horrible while the engineer sitting at the bar and the musician had to get him back to the PA to adjust. Lights would not work so the stage looked like hibernating. The waitress damn good but the food mediocre. This place is by far no tribute to the legacy of this town and the ambassadors of the Blues.
Nice people working and the inside is amazing and the food is really good, love it
Per chi ama il Blues è da vedere
I can't even tell you how the service and food is I sat down for atleast 15 minutes with family no service at all. Unless you plan to overpay for beer at a bar I would go somewhere else.
Great club for blues lovers. The music is always wonderful.
Impresionante!!! Muy recomendable
Awesome blues venue. Keeping the blues alive.
If you want a great burger on your blues trail trip, this is the place!
A great venue for delta Blues and some awesome soul food!
Nice place, good food. Service , not quite good . 10$ just to get in plus tips ... I would say it was a bit of a tourist trap... but if you are on the road that’s also part of the expense
Really enjoyed the band and good atmosphere. Pretty slow service, middle of the road food.
Blues, blues and more blues. I was in Clarksdale, MS at the Juke Joint Festival. Ground Zero was a treat. I loved the live music.
Love this place can’t get enough
I was there in the middle of the day. It was practically empty.
Had a great time at Ground Zero! Food was awesome and service was great!
Always great, a really fun place Staff always friendly
Great always
Great place! If you are near the area, go there!!
Friendly party crowd. Great food & huge portions. Of course the music is on hit!
Good music and food. Friendly staff.
Great blues music and great atmosphere
Original
solid fried pickles and blues music in an authentic tourist atmosphere
