Worst food experience of my life. Steak came out absolutely raw. Maybe on the grill for 30 seconds. We sent it back, and it came back the same maybe even worse. The drinks weren’t good, the chicken was like saw dust, and the waitress didn’t even apologize. Stay away.

Not a great experience. Our party of five had been seated two hours (maybe just shy) before our food came out. Looked and tasted like it had been sitting for a couple hours before it was brought out, and honestly, it wouldn't have made a huge difference if it was brought out promptly. The food just wasn't of the quality one would expect for the price. This is, however, a good place for drinks. Good beer list and tasty mixed drinks, but I will not eat here again.

1st time here so didn't know the menu me and my wife figured we would start off with an appetizer she got one I got one I got chicken fingers thinking it would be small wrong it was HUGE I MEAN HUGE!!! The wife the same thing she got humis and vegetables again HUGE!!! So we are both stuck with these huge appetizers I'm stuck eating 5 giant chicken fingers and honey mustard and that's it do I dear order fries NOPE . Then she ask if we would like to place are order ha ha ha ha ha I don't think so I'm stuck eating an appetizer I can't even finish and you want me to order now. Food ok menu small the sz of the food is the problem.

Dined in the downstairs section, though I do always enjoy the live music from the patio while I'm walking by. The seating was a little tight and the tables were so laughably small they had to put the pizza we ordered on a collapsible table next to us. That said it was fairly priced and tasty. The waiter was also friendly and helped us get everything organized. The beer list was just kinda ok with the exception of a few good, very expensive, bottles.

Been going to the pizza pub downstairs for years. We always whatever we get. The wings are great (especially the Ginger Teriyaki ones!). On a recent trip I didn't realize that downstairs was not handicap accessible. I was under the impression there was a ramp at the back of the location. Well needless to say we show up with two individuals who wouldn't be able to navigate the stairs. I talked to the manager of duty and they were more than accommodating in helping us execute a plan of action that allowed us to dine upstairs and off of the pub menu. Kudos all around! We will be back next time we are in town!

Good menu variety for both food and drinks. The four different venues are a little confusing- know what you want when you go in- there's the flatbread pizza joint, the club (at nighttime), the deck outside which has a slightly more limited/casual menu and then the indoor Grill which is more formal/full menu. I've been to the deck which is fun with live music (but loud) and the grill which is better for talking. A reliable choice for a group in Portsmouth who may have diverse tastes.

I had avoided this place but was sucked in after volleyball to the outdoor dining area, then downstairs on a different occasion and upstairs for a corporate event. Staff are very good, food is above average. Love the outdoor area, brought my kids and we weren't run out of town.

This place is great. Wood fired pizza downstairs, wood fired grill on the main floor, night club upstairs, and a great outdoor deck. We found friendly staff at each spot. The live music outside is fun. We visited here 3 times on our 4 day vacation.

I love love love all the food! In the summer they open what they call the deck. It’s more like a backyard enclosed and only 21+. This place has great rum buckets and there is musicians when the deck is open. Just a great fun spot. They have a pizza parlor downstairs, a regular restaurant in the middle, and a club upstairs. Many ways to enjoy this place!

Nice environment, live music, good crowd, people around are friendly and having fun. The only thing is drinks, drinks served to us were just water. There was minimum alcohol in them, if any. Also, be careful about where you choose to sit, because if you sit too close to where the live music plays, people will start dancing there eventually, and you will need to move, so just be wise about that. Good music and good vibes!

Visited the "pizza pub" - good food for good price. Other foods slightly expensive but worth it. Best value is the pizza buffet which is ~$7 per person and provides their standard pizzas plus a salad and breads. Overall, clean and pleasant enviroment, good for kids/all crowds

This restaurant is pretty large from what I could tell. I sat in the basement for pizza but there was a ground floor and an upper floor (I believe) as well. The pizza was great and the service awesome. This may have been by accident, but if it wasn't, well done! Our party was a group of 5 and two of us ordered one pizza and three ordered another. The pizza for two was cut into 6 slices (three for each) and the pizza for three was cut into nine slices (three for each). Usually there is an awkward one or two slices left and not enough to split evenly. I really appreciated this and wish it was the standard at all pizza joints.

Bartender was clearly not on point. Also not personable or attentive to our needs. Order got messed up! It took over an hour to get our food. Management must be new or maybe it's due to the turnover of cooks. Worst visit ever. Pizza has changed for sure which saddened us. Might try it again at a later date. Three strikes and they are out! One more visit left!

If having a mixed alcohol drink, don't bother. Tastes like a soda or just juice depending on what you order. Be clear about your food order, often get it wrong. Servers seem distracted with each other.

They have music on Friday and Saturday night. It's $7 at the door. Beers are $7 as well. Music wasn't bad, mix of new and old. Mix crowd young and older. Dance floor is small. If you are looking to dance on the weekend. It's not a bad place.

Stopped by for early dinner with our dog and sat on the patio. Decent beer selection and we had lobster rolls that were simple but very good. Waitstaff was very nice and our waitress got our dog a water bowl and some grilled chicken to snack on. We'll be back for sure.

While the food was fine, I was pretty disappointed with our service last night. We came in for dinner around 4:45 with a group of 12 (and a toddler/baby) after calling ahead to ask if they could accommodate us. It was a slow Sunday evening, and we were the only people there besides one couple. We were there a normal amount of time, and tipped well (the kids were well-behaved, and when the toddler got antsy we took her outside so as not to trouble the couple near us). But at the end of dinner it started pouring buckets, so one of our party offered to run back to get a car from the lot where we left them and then take my husband back to get the car for the kids. We started to gather our things to go, and the waiter/busser came in like hawks, moving our stuff, cleaning off the table, touching our things like they just HAD to get us out of there right away (even though we were still clearly waiting for a ride). There was no one in line waiting to eat, and only one other family had come in during our whole time there. We were essentially the only paying customers they were going to have, and yet they practically shooed us out. That meant we ended up standing in the lobby, where the waiters had to walk through to get things upstairs and were visibly annoyed with us. But it was still pouring, they weren't getting any new customers, and there was no need to rush us out like that.

Pizza was delicious and ingredients were fresh. On a Tuesday night, it wasn’t very busy so our pizza was ready in a flash. The bartender was also our server. Very friendly and he did a great job. Beautiful and cozy dining room on the main floor. But, if you’re eating pizza or burgers, they’ll send you downstairs where the atmosphere is more of a sports bar or pub. We’ll definitely go back!

Gaslight has so much to offer. In the winter we love the cozy atmosphere of the pizza pub. In the summer we love the deck. Thank you Gaslight staff for allowing us to bring our dog, Frytz loves the attention!

I gave my husband a surprise Retirement Party in the third floor function room and it was extraordinary. When I say that - I am referring to not only the beautiful room and huge, gorgeous bar but also the incredible, well organized employees. The event coordinator, Kate, is super nice, responsive, and also well organized (as one can tell - I’m a little obsessive about organization). These guys exceeded my expectations. They made sure my video was set to go whenever I needed it to and then was right there to make sure it happened correctly. The sound system and three screens (one pull down and two Large Monitors) were PERFECT. The party/celebration “vibe” or atmosphere was everything a celebration should be. Oh yes, and the food received compliments throughout the entire event from everyone. Kate, the coordinator did a great job fooling my husband as she walked him to the third floor. Husband said “I didn’t think you had a dining room up here”. “It’s new...” she responded as she texted me telling me my husband was coming down the hall! He was shocked and It was such a great time. I totally recommend this place.

Decent food, though a bit of a wait time. Went for lunch, ate at the grill which only had 1 other party eating. Food took quite a bit longer to receive than expected, especially since it was no where near busy. 1 in my party ordered a BLT, which wasn't served with mayo.... seems odd. I ordered the sweet chili stir fry with chicken. The dish is GF (I have Celiac), it was good, rice was just a bit undercooked, but not inedible. I spend a lot of time in Portsmouth, but not sure I'd be inclined to visit again.

I was there on July 6, 2019. My husband and myself had stopped in for some drinks and appetizers. We have been going to the gaslight pub for about 15 years and always loved it the service was always great the food was always good but this yearJust stopping in for a drink and an appetizer I witnessed a very angry chef at the grill who is throwing food around and swearing, the bartender who I think her name was Michelle was on the rude side and proceeded to not let me explain how to make a drink that I wanted, she just flat out was arguing with me. I went to the manager when I left and expressed what we had seen and he didn’t seem to interested. He just stood there smiling saying he will try an address it , didnt offer any thing to us nor did we ask for anything. Sadly we will not be back. A manager that lets his staff in plain view of customers swear an throw food on the floor an slam dishs down does not make for a relaxing visit. Very sad, it once was our fave in Portsmouth for 15 years. It seemed to me the staff got way younger and they just do not care an have a manager that doesn’t either. Karen Caruso.

It was good food, the service was great, and the prices are affordable. Once it started to rain they helped to seat us at the bar under an awning cover. The customer there was a nice gentleman, he gave up his seat for us to sit at the bar together.

Pizza is downstairs I really wanted to eat on the deck so lids and I could hear the band but was told that was a limited menu. Don't think we were asked for another drink. Had our company party here. The drinks were "meh", the music was poor, the music VIDEOS were SO-FAR- FROM-APPROPRIATE... ever had "fluffy" meatballs? Too much breading added in. Just my opinion, and you are thoroughly encouraged to make your own observations.woukd I go here again? Nope. Are my thoughts the end all, be all? Nope. Try it out and [hopefully] enjoy.

Had a very mixed experience here. I’m not a local but was here with family and friends for a bridal party. We had a bunch of things go wrong and then a couple things go right. I have worked in the food industry so I don’t usually do this since I understand both sides. We had a terrible experience at their outdoor patio, then moved inside and had a terrible experience there. I won’t bore you with the details but I assure you we were not impressed with the service or food. We spoke to different members of the staff and felt the usual “yes ma’am”, “we understand ma’am” comments with a glazed over look we’re typical and impersonal. I then took it upon myself to find the manager. I don’t recall his name but he was wearing a suit. He listened and understood my/our frustrations. At this point we were about to leave and never return. I made this clear, he apologized and asked if he could make the experience up to us by discounting our bill and bringing us upstairs for free and getting us a round of drinks. Most of our group was completely turned off at this point and just wanted to leave but after some convincing we decided to take him up on his offer. We went upstairs, grabbed some drinks and shockingly enjoyed the rest of our night. I would have thanked him on our way out but the place was a zoo when we were leaving. All in all our experience was ok. Terrible to start and then great to finish. I’ll give them another shot and hope for a more complete experience.

We attempted to have a drink at this place because the ambiance seemed nice. It was 5:30 on a Thursday and we were told that we were not aloud to have a seat without ordering food. I was with my handicapped mother in law. We were offered to stand in the corner after ordering at the bar. There were a minimum of 15 open tables on the patio at this time. I took these photos at peak time of 7pm to show how many seats were still available! We went down the street to the brewery where our service was welcomed and actually ended up ordering some food anyway. As I understand the concept of this policy there are other ways to prevent these issues without the business denying money from customers.

Having been a regular customer there the owners staff DJ some of the patrons are like family closer than my family to me I love them all with a passion and they know it and I can feel the love they give me back. I would recommend it to anybody is the safe neutral environment for anybody to go have fun Friday nights little less busy Saturdays usually packed after 10:30 packed elbow to elbow but always a lot of fun

Nice atmosphere and waitstaff were great. The lobster roll lacked flavor but it was fresh and a good sized meal. My husband had the batter fish and chips and the fish had way too much batter on it which held a lot of oil and the oil didn’t taste very nice which was disappointing.

We got a little bit of everything from the menu and all of it was delicious. Highly recommend this place for anytime or anything you want. Great job guys, please keep up the good work. Lovely wait staff, but got completely fleeced here. I saw a sign saying "Margarita Monday - 1/2 off", and asked about it when I was seated. I was assured they were half price, until the bill came and they charged me full price. Apparently the half off is for club members, which you can join, bit it doesn't apply until the next day. The salmon burger was tasty, but mostly breadcrumbs with a few small chunks of fish. It was nice sitting on the patio, but I just can't recommend this place.

The pizza downstairs is absolutely delicious. Cooked in a fire burning oven using awesome ingredients, you will be in heaven. Service is average but the food makes it worth it. The Salt Pile and Molly Malone are the ones you HAVE to try.

The only reason it’s getting a 3 star review is because of the patio area, dogs are welcome, and the staff was very nice and accommodating. Food and drinks, not so much. I got the salmon burger and it was so dry. There was no taste to it even with the pineapple. I took a bite and tried to save the meal but there was no point. My husband got the Korean wrap. It was decent but nothing to write about in a review as the best dish. Another friend got the Cuban sandwich. Again very dry. I almost hope the chef reads this and maybe considers toasting the bun and putting a little more aioli on it. The drinks again just subpar. There so many other better places to go in Portsmouth. So if you’re looking for a good meal with good drinks, you can pass on this. But if you just want to sit outside and are not a foodie, then go at your own risk.

They have the best pizza in Portsmouth! And if you want live music in spring and summer you can enjoy spending time in their deck. I wish they had more variety in their light beer but overall I recommend this place.

Can't rate the food aside from the calamari which at each bite it they were delicious. Went here for a bachelor party and as busy as it was we well greeted relatively quickly. The environment was enjoyable as there was an outside patio with live music. The entrance fee was affordable and I did not mind paying. Selection of beers was nice as one would expect for the area to meet the demand of other competitors. The downstairs was a nice surprise. The group grabbed pizza afterwards and we didn't leave any left! They also have an upstairs night club that was part of the entrance fee which was a plus.

My boyfriend and I decided to take a trip up to Portsmouth for dinner. Now I work in the area and I always wanted to try out this place! We went on 6/7/19 (friday) and I expected the lower half of the restaurant to be packed... it wasnt. Our waitress was friendly but completely screwed up our order. I asked for a simple calzone... literally 4 ingredients and my boyfriend got a burger and "chips" which were all crumbs! He was missing half his toppings to his burger and my 4 ingredient calzone (sausage, mushroom,onion and cheese, Sauce on side. ) was missing the sausage and there was barely any mushroom or onion. It was mostly sauce and cheese. Also the mixed drinks werent great either. Now I'm normally not the type to speak up but I had too. Our waitress ended up taking my meal off the bill which was sweet but if we had the option to come back again... we wouldnt.

Our favorite take away pizza in town! Not thin, not doughy, but a chewy and satisfying balance of crust and toppings. We love the Molly Malone and the meatballs are just as good as how I make them at home. The house salad has dried cherries and is a tart surprise that plays along well with the other ingredients. There’s a fish tank in the lower dining area. The bar area downstairs is cozy and has such a townie feel, but in a nice “Cheers” type of way. A great place to catch a game on TV.

I came here with my co-workers for a company dinner. The staff members are friendly, the food was great, and the mixed drink was very nice. My criticism is their menu is VERY limited. I only saw roughly 6 appetizers, 4 salads, and 7 entrees to choose for dinner. Perhaps they are better known as a bar, not a restaurant. But anyway, I did enjoy my time there though.

Awesome place! Food was fantastic! Service was great! We had the 3rd floor event room which was plenty big, great setting and views. We got a little bit of everything from the menu and all of it was delicious. Highly recommend this place for anytime or anything you want. Great job guys, please keep up the good work. Next time I visit NH this is the first place I’m coming back to. Thank you, from Texas.

I normally love the place but today DID NOT get the best service. I chose the resturaunt to celebrate my birthday with friends. It was a rather large group, so I placed a reservation previous to us showing up. Service started out rather rude, which was very surprising to me. Once I asked if we could get pizza upstairs with the reply “nope”, they asked if we wanted to go downstairs. They told us all the food we wanted would be served downstairs, and that there would be a 20min wait. After waiting for an hour and finally being seated, we then didn’t get drinks for another hour, as the waiters were rudely joking about how they should “probably get us our waters”. They then told us that the back kitchen was closed so we could only get pizza. The pizza men were saying very harsh words over the counter as they clearly knew we could hear. We ended up being there for 3 hours. I normally don’t get upset about things like this however when a business is very unprofessional in this way and I start histerically crying at the dinner table I would say the service wasn’t to great. Lowkey ruined my birthday not gonna lie. Our waiter kinda looked like spider man tho so I guess that was kinda cool.

Good food, great cocktails and a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. I loved the smell of wood smoke from the wood fire grill that was in the air. My Dad had the prime rib special and it was cooked perfectly. I had the Black & Blue Burger it was very tasty but a little over cooked for my "Rare, still mooing, rare" sense of taste. The vegetables and all the sides were really good, fresh and handmade. I will definitely be back.

It feels as though the place was WAY over capacity - no moving upstairs comfortably (simply having your hands by your sides). Fun music and could be a great place to dance but they allow anyone willing to pay the cover charge up the stairs no matter the amount of people up there.

As a gay couple, we were kissing at the bar, they claimed that the designated driver was disruptive at the bar and kicked is out. Literally we had smiles on our faces and talking together. Homophobia is real dont go here of you're gay. Hatred and discrimination in full. Avoid at all cost!!

Lovely wait staff, but got completely fleeced here. I saw a sign saying "Margarita Monday - 1/2 off", and asked about it when I was seated. I was assured they were half price, until the bill came and they charged me full price. Apparently the half off is for club members, which you can join, bit it doesn't apply until the next day. The salmon burger was tasty, but mostly breadcrumbs with a few small chunks of fish. It was nice sitting on the patio, but I just can't recommend this place.

Went for drinks at the attached venue, told there was no cover and then there was. Very expensive drink prices and a crazy amount of security lurking around at all times makes this place a poor venue.

We've only eaten at the pizza restaurant and that's enough for me to keep coming back. The lunch buffet is great, they bring out a wide variety of pizza's, its wicked cheap and you can get in and out perfectly for a lunch. The pizza is wood fire brick over and they do a great job at it.
