Bubba's is just... wow. The atmosphere is surreal and anything you think they could possibly have, they have. While I'm not a huge fan of big dolls, the light up floor is so much fun. We went on 90's night so the music was great. They are cash only but offer an ATM. The bartenders are no nonsense grandmas who will put you in your place if you're too rowdy. I would be interested to see this place on another night!

Unique place with knicknacks all over. All ages welcome; our bartenders were grandmothers, there were plenty of older folk twice my age, and even a bachelorette party! Light up dance floor, music ranging from the 70s to modern edm, non-aggressive crowd, cash only. We had a $10 cover Saturday night when we went, coat check is $1, drinks are $5-10. ATM charges $3 fee.

:-( Unfortunately, this old favorite Friday night stand-by has been heading in a downward spiral... DJ last week was not good, very rude, not good tune selection or mix in ... they need to freshen up the whole establishment ... not up to Portland standard. Noticeable good marks were that they added a coat check and the doorman was excellent, nice personality.

My boyfriend and I were up in Portland for a get away and met some locals who brought us there when we walked in it was fun! Until we got asked to leave because we were with someone's ex that worked there! Now if you ask me that is childish and so unprofessional. I felt like I was in high school being asked to leave for that reason good thing we got our cover charge back. I will not be coming back here very rude people!

Drinks are strong and the decor is strange and amazing, dance floor is a lit up masterpiece, and most people there want to have fun. Security staff is generally concerned when people get too wasted. Bathroom is usually pretty clean. I'm a local and I love coming here. My only concern is that water isn't always readily available to drink like at most bars and lines can get really long for bottled water.

Surly bar staff, small, watered down, overpriced drinks that you can only pay cash for and they cleared our last drinks away off our table while they were still 3/4 full. People say this is a great place but it's actually very lame. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money on this dump.

Hands down the coolest bar I have ever been to. Haven't danced that much since the last wedding I went to. Went there during a bachelor party weekend, and this was definitely the highlight. Not going to lie, I had a full conversation with a mannequin before I realized it was not a human being. Cheers!

It was my first time there. I gor all dressed up and was happy to be there. I had one beer and i was dancing and all was good. I asked where the bathroom was. And after that i tried to order another beer and was asked to leave. The bartender said she seen me. Run into the wall? I had one beer i was excited to be there so i could dance. I was asked to leave.. P.s. I'm transgender. So sad. I thought i was going to have a good time.!!! This place is not LGBT friendly.

This place is different. They have a huge collection of collectives. It's owned by a person named Bubba. A must visit place I went there and was amused. The place is also very cheap which is also an add on. On fridays and Saturdays they open the two dance floors after 8 pm. I was not able to attend but seeing the place it must be lit.

Order beer not hard alcohol. Over priced and poor selection... pretty sure the grape (they only had that flavor) grey goose was watered down. Whatever you do don't the look up. I can't imagine that electrical is up to date. Know your exits

Bubbas sulky lounge plays the beast tunes from the 60's 70's and 80s with 2 dance floors of holographic light that will set your feet afire and give you the time of your life we persuaded ourselves 2 pbrs at 3 a piece and destroyed that floor so much so i think i cracked it 5 out of 5 forks from the beast ill be back again to dance harder and destroy your floors again.

An Elk's club and a disco had a baby and there you go! A dive bar with a HUGE mix of people. The decor is one of an eclectic garage sale. The square dance floor lights up Saturday Night Fever style. Security is friendly unless someone needs tossing. Dance Dance Dance!

The bar and dancing was fun, but the 80's attire requirement for bypassing the cover charge is too high. Friends and I spent a while getting ready: overdone makeup, high side half-up do, faux leather jacket. But he didn't "count" it; kills the vibe you had for the night by telling you that your best isnt good enough.

Awesome DJs, fun dance floor atmosphere, however my best friend got kicked out for asking for water and they claimed that only served water at closing time, it was 12:30 and they close 1am, working in the restaurant business I know that after 12:00 am they are supposed to give you tap water (any water, unfiltered or otherwise). Unless a change is made I will not return.

Got kicked out at 12:20am for asking for tap water. After my partner and I spent $10 on cover charge and $40 on drinks, free tap water is the least they could do. The old woman at the bar even told me "business comes first before water". The bouncer that kicked me out said she was the owner. After the amount of money I've spent at this establishment over the multiple times I've been there, I'll never be back. The owner spent more time explaining to me that they don't don't serve water than it would've taken to just serve me tap water. Don't be a cheap. That's not how you run a business.

Ordered a Corona at the bar and watched the bartender reach her hand into a used glass for an already used lime and stick it into my Corona. I confronted her and she says, "Yeah, I did." She took the beer and kept it behind the bar, probably waiting for someone else to order a Corona. Absolutely disgusting place and I would not recommend going here.

I've only been here a few times on Friday nights aka 80's night and I gotta say there's something about 80's and 90's music that really brings back the good ol' days. The DJ rips it up on the 1's and 2's and the dance floor lights up, literally! Old school toys and nicnacs everywhere with a massive bar. If you're feeling nastolgic and you absolutely gotta dance your heart out. Stop here. You won't regret it.

This is legitimately the most fun bar I've been to in years. Can't explain how weird and kitschy it is, but it is the mortal enemy of pretentiousness. All sorts of people hanging out and dancing to corny 90s dance music and whatnot. The staff was friendly, especially the front door/security folks. I've done that job at numerous places and I never understand why so many bouncers choose to be rude jerks. You can be friendly and professional, and frankly you can prevent lots of problems before they start by having a good attitude. The bartenders were friendly and prompt, pours seemed generous. The beer selection was lousy though in my opinion. But honestly they could serve seawater and I'd still give them 5 stars because I find stuffed animals with funny signs hilarious, and would rather dance to 90s hits than newer stuff.

Why does it have four dance floors? Why is it 30% people over 40? (not hating just usually in the old port it's like 5%) Why is it so damn loud in the areas that shouldn't be loud (like the bar areas in rooms that don't have dance floors)? Why did the bathroom smell like laughing gas? I have too many unanswered questions about 'Bubba's Sulky Lounge' to recommend it without some answers to those questions.

I've been here a couple times. 80s night is usually really fun. I've been to a 90s night which I thought was pretty awesome. This last time going through it was a Saturday, there was a cover. But, they should have paid me to go in there. There was nothing special going on and basically bought a drink and then left. It is cash only too btw, but they do have an ATM inside. The light up dance floor is neat as well as their decor, I guess if you haven't seen it then it's worth checking out. I wasn't too impressed my last stop in.

On Saturday the 90's music was the greatest. loved the lit up, multi-colored dancefloor and the music videos playing on the several tv screens. It's cash only so come prepared. What's not to love about this place!! It's one of the few real dive bars left in the city and the only place I know of to dance without feeling old if your over 30. The place is huge!! They literally have 3 Separate lighted dance floors!! Yes you read that right! Lighted fricken disco dance floors. And some of the strangest creepy decorations you can imagine. You start feeling a bit like Alice wondering how deep can this Rabbit Hole Go! Definitely give this place a shot on a Friday or Saturday Night. You won't regret it.
