I had never been to Bar Louie before, so I decided to try it out when I visited Kansas City recently. Marquis was my server and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable as I tried to decide what to get. He gave me suggestions, patiently and thoroughly answered all my questions to the best of his knowledge, and was extremely kind and pleasant the whole time. He was attentive and friendly and honestly I was blown away at the excellent service. He definitely helped make my first trip to Bar Louie a great one, and I will be back next time I’m in KC and will absolutely request Marquis! Thanks for the great service!

I've been to this chain in other states and usually find it fairly appealing. Could very well be the fact I visited on a Tuesday night with no events going on, but the place was empty and the atmosphere was pretty dull. Not to mention the service was incredibly slow which was surprising since I was one of 4 people at the bar. Maybe this is a better option when a game or some other event is going on, but I'd avoid it otherwise.

It was good. Went for happy hour and the drinks and appetizers were good, queso was BOMB, salsa was spicy how I like it and the guacamole was okay just needed some salt. Overall it was Fun and I will be coming back

Went with a large group for a bachelorette party. We had reservation and they sat us. Then no one came over to serve us. We had to stop someone after 10minutes and even then it was hard to get their attention. The food was ok, the drinks were over priced and the service was terrible. Definitely won't be returning

The two times I have been at this location has been whack. 1st time, the prejudice waitress refused to serve our table so the supervisor had to serve us (she was awesome). Second time my $16 nacho platter had 6 chunks of chicken and cheese sporadically spattered on the chips. Bartender all over the place, but nice. I won't be going back...we're done .

Came here at midnight on a Tuesday expecting to get the full experience but was disappointed to find that they were only serving an abbreviated "event" menu. The concert which was being held elsewhere nearby had been over for several hours by then and the restaurant was mostly empty making the choice not to switch back to the full menu at some point throughout the night seem arbitrary. It also wasn't posted on their website under the event heading. Knowing which nights and what constitutes an "event" is ant anyone's guess.

Wow you guys have MAJOR management issues. Very poorly ran, you guys are losing lots of money with the way you are running this place. Get some bus boys and don't rely on your servers to clear tables. You need more servers, shouldn't take 40 minutes to order a drink sitting at a table. And definitely shouldn't take another 40 minutes to get drinks after ordering. We sat and watched numerous people leave. Definitely would not recommend.

Great location, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Reasonable prices for drinks. Decent beer selection. Appetizers were good. Within walking distance to the downtown hotels. Maybe a ten minute walk from where we stayed at the Crown Plaza. Safe to walk at night.

Their Bourbon Burger is scrumptious! For 21 and over only! And Tuesdays they have $1 burgers for happy hour (small upcharge for BB). Full bar and there are martini specials for a couple bucks on Wed I think. Nice decor, cozy ambiance.

Have been coming to Bar Louie for a few years now. Things have totally changed, and for the best. Mary, the new GM is super friendly and seems like an awesome person. Have had Mercedes now several times as our bartender and always serves great cocktails and service. If you haven’t been in awhile, you should go back in and see for yourself. Cheers!

If you are from out of town steer clear of this place. If you are from KC and wanting some of their specials be sure to make sure that there isn't and event going on as the regular specials disappear due to price gouging reasons from the events. Food is alright, but certainly not worth the price. The regular priced burgers are the same as the burgers you can get on dollar burger night if that says anything. More so paying to eat at the location. When they honor their normal specials, its worth it! They do have good martinis though.

Service was less than great. A simple mojito was made wrong the simple spinach and artichoke dip was cold. Our waiter came by only one time to deliver the appetizer. He never came to ask about another drink. I wouldn't suggest going here when there are so many other options.

Drinks too forever. Two burnt chicken sandwiches. Replacements took almost an hour. Wasn't offered much in the way of compensation until I said I was dissatisfied. Then recieved an attitude from the manager when I relayed my displeasure.

Visited Bar Louie while in town for a concert and was extremely pleased with the service my friends and I received. Marquis was our server and was extremely attentive to all of our needs. We took a bit to decide on drinks and apps, but felt no rush to order and in fact received some great recommendations. Food was great, service was even better! We will definitely be back!

Bar Louie in P&L has a great menu and something for everyone - vegetarians included! Drinks are tasty and the restaurant has a great vibe if you want to stay awhile and hang out with friends. We had a server named Richard who's very popular and will ensure a great time for you!

This place was pretty awesome. I particularly liked the large painting on the wall. We only ordered drinks. The service was great and my old fashioned was good enough for me to order two. We came in during the afternoon so there wasn't much of a crowd which was fine by me. Overall nice place to go for drinks.

First of all you will not find a bigger A$$hole than our bartender/ waiter last night l. I have never seen anything like it. There was about 10 of us, and two of us were drinking heavily but not being obnoxious or anything like that. The other 8 of us were completely sober. He didn’t serve the drunk people and that’s fine I do not have a problem with that. He automatically assumed the other 8 of us were drunk, and wouldn’t serve us even though we were sober. He kicked a girl who was sober out for being drunk, ridiculous. Instead of us buying drinks, we had to convince all him we were sober....really. The guy couldn’t even bring a water to us after 3 request. It was the only place open or we would not have gone here. First time I’ve seen a sober person get kicked out of a bar for being drunk. Do Not go here!!!

Came in Saturday it was really busy. First time here and I loved the experience , Cameron was our server and the service was outstanding defiantly coming back. I had the mac and cheese with shrimp and it was delicious. Cameron did a very good job of taking care of us loved the atmosphere.

This has been the worst service we ever received. We come every week, but today we had to ask for the burger menu multiple times. We waited for a long period of time and the waitress came back and asked if we were going to order anything and we had to tell her as soon as she brings the menu we could order. She comes back to our table with only one menu for three people. She took an even longer time to take our order and we waited for over hour for our food. We requested the nanager four times. Twice by asking other staff members and twice by calling the manager. We complained finally to a manager only received $5.00 off for the inconvenience. This was a terrible display of customer service.

Sat down and had our drink order taken. Finally had drinks delivered after waiting for sometime. Had to stop the waiter to tell him we wanted to order food. Took our food order and immediately two plates were delivered that were not ours (should of just ate them). Told the waiter, he checked and stated sorry not ours. Waited even longer.. two more drinks...one sandwich plate arrived but not the other....waited even longer and asked the waiter about it, still no other sandwich, finally just left. We left $40 for our drinks and told the waiter we were done waiting. BS didnt get our food at same time. Overrated!!!

Nice location and good place for a large group. Happy hour deal on appetizer was very good. Service was quick and staff was friendly. Dont forget to get validation for your parking. Done need reservations but will be good to get one on Friday evening

My friends and I went there before a concert on March 21 for dinner and drinks. The majority of the restaurant was closed off for a private party, so we sat at the bar. It took almost 10 minutes for the bartender to take our drink order, and another 5 after receiving our drinks before he came back to ask if we wanted food. We had to flag down another server to get water, and we had to ask someone else behind the bar for plates and silverware for our food. We were only checked on once by the bartender while there (and we where there for almost an hour), and he just said “Do you want another drink or something?” when one of us made eye contact with him. When we said no, he walked away before we could ask for more water, though. When we were ready for our check, I grabbed another person behind the bar and asked for the manager so I could explain our experience. A few minutes later, she came back and said “The manager is really busy, can I help you?” As I explained our experience, she looked at me with doubt/frustration and explained that the bartender was “new to working events” and she “would let him know what we said”. I felt dismissed and that my feedback would not be taken seriously. We paid our bill and left. The two stars on my review are only because the food was good, no other reason. I knew this restaurant had a reputation for less than ideal service, and came in knowing that, knowing that we were in no hurry. But the poor service we experienced made the decision for us to leave and spend our money elsewhere. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Usually a great place for beer and food. Only 4 stars because of my recent 'not great' experience. I ordered the chicken and churros. Advertised as their twist on chicken and waffles. The churros were refrigerator cold and super dense. I asked the bartender if this was how they were supposed to come out. He admitted he never tried them, but it didn't sound right. Never got any feedback. I hope the kitchen just made an error. I'd avoid them just in case.

I’ve had nothing but the best experiences here compared to other places. Mercedez is my favorite bartender when I go she’s so much fun and pleasant. If you have any complaints she fixes them right away. The place is clean and definitely a friendly environment. They have daily deals on food and my favorite is the Mac & Cheese. It’s also convenient that it’s close to the Sprint Center. Love it!

Very poor service on a night when there was an event but they weren't all that busy. Two of us sat down at the bar and were basically ignored until we finally waved down a bartender. She took my date's order and didn't ask if I wanted anything before walking away. 5 mins later another bartender asked if I might like something as well. Ordered a beer that never came so we cashed out and went to Chipotle.
