Had a great time here. We were visiting from out of state and were treated very well at the door and inside the club. We decided to come back and were told we had to be on a guest list, which was confusing because we weren’t the first visit. Other than that it’s a great club.

Those that work at this club have no idea what customer service is. I was shocked to see such an absence of customer service after having been to reputable clubs like Studio Paris. There is no comparison- this place can't even be considered a competitor. After a friend invited me to come and had a table, I decided to come despite the things I'd heard about Underground. When another friend and I got to the entrance, I told a worker that my friend inside had a table. Not even looking me in the eye, he responded, "Tell him" without even indicating who "he" was- mind you, he didn't bother to call him over. After guessing who he was referring to, I had to shout the man down trying to get his attention IN FRONT OF the worker who just stood there ignoring us. This is not the idea anyone looking for a club experience has in mind. When I told the man with the iPad my friend's name, he said "Oh yeah" and directed the workers to let us in. After not being escorted or told where to go, we were shouted at to go around the ropes (although there was no line). Nobody escorted us in or directed us to the table. When I saw the man with the iPad inside shortly thereafter, I asked if he knew where the table was or could tell me which section or room. He waved his hand as if he were waving me away and again without even looking me in the eye said no and suggested I had to figure it out. After walking around the entire club pushing past people and getting shoved out of the way by security as we walked down aisles looking for our friends, we finally found them. The nearby "security" stood on the wall literally staring at females' behinds as they passed instead of being alert to the safety of the patrons. Disgusting. If I could, I would give this venue 0 stars. The only somewhat-positive was the DJ. Even though he played 10 Drake songs in a row (literally) without playing anything from the album that just dropped, at least he was good at mixing the music he played.

Never felt so discriminated in my life!! We were so excited to try this club out and drove a whole 50 minutes to get here from NWI and got a hotel and everything just to get told by one of the bouncers “if you have no table or reservations don’t even waste your time” after waiting 20 minutes before they told us that that they were gonna start letting people in. If you are gonna have on your doors or website that you’re open from 10pm to 5am specify that it’s only if you’re a bunch of skinny classy white girls that know a bouncer or have reservations! We were with a group of 3 guys and 2 girls. My friend only wanted to enjoy her 24th birthday and it was all a waste of time!!!

The Underground is a table-oriented night club with mediocre music. I generally avoid the place, but an Underground host offered my friend a birthday table including 1 comp bottle, 2 half price bottles, and no minimum purchase. (Too good to be true?) The night started out fun, but soon into our celebration the floor host told us the minimum was $1,000 and we were required to continue ordering. I tried to explain the misunderstanding to the floor host and the manager, but both told me the original host who offered the table has no power to set prices. I couldn't get ahold of the original host, and I didn’t want this to ruin the party, so we tried to pay the server $1,000 hoping. She wouldn’t accept our money saying we had to order to the minimum before we could close our bill. (Gotta love the table game.) We asked how much we needed to spend to get up to the minimum. She said we had $418 on the tab, so we ordered a $650 bottle so we could close out. After tax and tip, our bill was a whopping $1,400.86. But it gets worse. I found out later that the server didn't include two bottles bought by other guests at our table in the minimum. So with their $248 spent, the special birthday table offer ended up costing $1,648.86. I complained to the original host who said he would help sort things out. After some back and forth, he said the manager would refund $200, but nothing was ever refunded. I followed up a few times until I stopped getting a response. The Underground.. what a rip off.

Be prepared to get ripped off with their bottle service. They will straight up lie to you, over charge you by $500-$1000 and there is nothing you can do about it. And don't even bother trying to get in without a table if you're a guy

Most Disappointing Experience Ever! Honestly, a professional establishment should pride itself on consistency and class however, this place grossly lacks on both. It reeks of incompetence with untrained door handlers, so called promoters. Martin, the kid by the entrance has no sense of who to let in and not. Ignore the BS reviews below, you can dress nice all you want, and get there as early as you want; as long as you are not a "friend" or an associate of the dude by the entrance or the one watching through the cameras, you are completely ignored and told to buy a table as a gentleman when the inside is completely empty. Not only that the décor inside is cheaply made and drinks are overpriced. I visited this establishment when I was in Chicago for a work conference and it was sad to see so many professionals who wanted to have a good time and dressed appropriately turned back over arbitrary rules. While other kids with ball caps and t-shirts were allowed through. This is the epitome of the ultimate dog and pony show and it needs to go out of business fast. I am counting down the days and I will be there to dance on its grave. DO NOT GO TO UNDERGROUND. IT IS A WASTE OF TIME!!!!

Where to start with this place... Drinks are WAYYY over priced. This club only caters to those who have bought bottle service. There is basically no room to dance and if you dance where bouncers don't want you to be prepared to be shoved around. No one is on the same page with anything. If you like to anoke and you go outside they will give you three different directions on how to get back in and then they will end up pissed off. Last rant about this place and I'm done. I went with three buddies. One of them had two credit cards and an ID that I still think was taken by a waitress. One of the worst places we went to. Should have stayed at studio Paris...

We started our night at studio Paris to celebrate my 21st birthday let's just say I will never go to Studio Paris again just how the bouncers treated us and talked to us which ruined my birthday. We decided to go to underground and had no problem at the door, the bouncers were nice! My friend let someone inside know how studio paris ruined my 21st and I was upset. So they said we will take care of that & brought out a bottle on the house with a whole set up. Thank you for turning my night upside down! It was a great time!

I came to this club for my best friend's 21st. Our group had a table and reservation but I got denied entry because I had shorts on. Just keep in mind that it was 80 degrees and humid at that time. I was wearing a nice collared button up shirt, sperrys, and khaki shorts not gym shorts or jean shorts. The bouncer was somewhat respectful but he didnt give me a valid reason for why shorts werent allowed. During this time the bouncer let in a bunch of white girls, some wore ripped up jeans and some wore shorts. They obviously got in just fine. I am giving this a 1 star review because I missed out on my friends 21st, wasted hours of my life, spent alot of money getting back home in the suburbs because the trains weren't runnings, and that they let in a guy in my group who had a wife beater, a cheap flannel (that was not buttoned up), and old sneakers. Another guy in my group had t-shirt and jeans and gym shoes for their attire and they got in. The "dress code" is inconsistent and I also happen to be the only minority in the group. So the other reviews about this place being racist raises a lot of suspicion. Regardless, my main gripe is the inconsistent dress code. Im pretty sure that I would of had a blast at this club but I got denied so I didn't get to enjoy that experience. The dress code that I just found on their site doesnt not mention anything about khakis shorts. Only to avoid sports wear. I definitely followed their online guidline on what to wear.

I never actually made it inside so this review is for my experience on the outside on a sat around 11pm. It wasn't well organized outside, no distinct guest and regular lineup. Just a mass of people trying to get past 3 different ropes. I offered 20 to one of the doormen, his polite response was 'try adding another zero'. Must be a supply and demand thing. I guess it's easier to get one guy to pay 200 than 10 guys to pay 20. I tried another doorman, seemed like you had to know him or the name of someone inside. He was letting some people in but wasn't holding a guest list. I offered him 40, nope. Ok, so I asked him where the reg line is and he pointed it out.. I walked over there was only 2 of us in that line now but still 50-100 people in a big mass. Then he (politely) tells me it will be 1-2 hours to get in. It seems like a good place so my advice is to get there early if you really really want to get in. But I bet you'll spend a ton inside. If you want the best bang for your buck in this area you should drink up at home, get out whenever, walk past the Underground and make a beeline straight up to Division Street (15 min walk, less if your drunk). No lines, almost no covers, a good mix or bars/clubs and stronger/cheaper drinks. Good Luck!

Don't pick up here if you are a ride share. The bouncers are extremely rude and they don't respect you. They kept hitting my car on two different occasions. They also threw coins at my car. I called the location and it's been 3 days. They don't return my phone calls. I hope this place goes backrupt.

Love it! Sometimes it's hard to get in, but when you do it's an unbelievable experience. You absolutely feel the vibe! physically, audibly, as well as phenomenal entertainment in general. I highly recommend it. But you do have to prepare to spend some money.

The bouncer is a nincompoop. Tried to push me for no reason and when that didn’t work, called his boss. Boss was marginally sensible - Tyrone Collins. Took me outside to check what happened. Still didn’t have the courage to tell his bouncer to behave. Weak!! About me - never been thrown out of a bar in 20 yrs. Not even here. But I’m never coming back again! I’m glad that I don’t live here. And even if I visit, I’m never coming back again. Btw, still here, waiting for a friend to come out. Word of advice - don’t waste your 20. I know it isn’t much but might as well spend it somewhere worthwhile

Wish I could say good things about this place but nothing good has come out of my experiences here. Never been so disrespected or felt utterly embarrassed for a business in my entire life. Been to plenty of clubs in Chicago, NY, LA, and so on and never have I experienced such rude staff. Recently went with some colleagues around 1 AM and immediately regretted it. Security was shining flashlights in everyone's face while a janitor was mopping up some unfortunate drunk's vomit not too far from our table. We could smell it along with the sweat from people literally an inch away from our faces. We politely asked a waitress (who was chatting with a couple guys) if it was possible to move to a different table as to not have to endure the horrid puke smell, but she rolled her eyes as if we were an inconvenience to her, and continued to chat with those two guys. So we tried to ignore the smell and just enjoy the night, as the DJ was playing some good songs. Unfortunately, we had to deal with the smell of vomit for the majority of the night...and to top it off a server (wearing a high ponytail, Hispanic I believe) grabbed one of my colleagues, who was standing in front of the table she was serving at twice, by her shirt, calling my colleague an "effing b****" and to "move out of her effing way". We were taken aback by this and I noticed a bouncer (thin African American man, probably only polite one there) who was standing a few feet away had witnessed what just happened and looked embarrassed. He walked up to us as soon as this happened and apologized. He jokingly goes "Sorry about her. She's a nut." We all kind of laughed but it didnt eliminate any of the shock we were still enduring from what just happened, especially for my colleague, who was simply just trying to have a conversation with people at the next table over. If it weren't for that bouncer I would have walked out of there as soon as possible. To management reading this, you may want to consider re-training and teaching your staff how to respect your customers. And if they don't know what that is, then perhaps its time for new staff. This is unacceptable. People pay to have a good time not to deal with hostile staff.

Last night i had a HORRIBLE experience at your club, While me and my friend were standing in line to go to the bathroom a grown man came from behind and yanked my hair and threw me to the ground all because his girlfriend pushed me to go to the bathroom and i told her to not do that again. The security guard saw it right away and took him to the side before any of us could do a thing. However because he had a $7000 tab he was not asked to leave, instead they asked me to leave for being so upset and had me waiting outside for 30 minutes saying they were “handling the situation” because he had a $7000 tab and they needed him to close it out first in order for him to leave also we also had a tab and table as well, so as time went by and I’m waiting out by the curb where they told me to wait until they Bring the guy out my friends text me from inside saying that the same guy was still at his table enjoying himself as if nothing happened. I had went to one of security guards outside and he states he wasn’t “getting a reply” from his boss and i still was not able to come back in as if i was the one who assaulted someone, i am writing you guys so make you aware that i have already contacted your local police about this assault that happened to me last night at your club and you guys did NOTHING simply because “money is more important” so this is how you guys treat women, my three other friends who were witnesses to this situation have sent in our reports and i will be pressing charges against you guys and your club for assault, we also have video of it to on one of my friends phones who was there as well but I’m sure you guys have video of it to along with the guys name and information because he did have a tab with you guys, if someone from your guys corporate office or the manager in charge would like to reach out to me because last night was completely unacceptable I get assaulted by a man and I am the one who gets kicked out because he was paying good money basically I do not appreciate you guys allowing someone to assault a woman and in that such away just because money over sees everything in your guys eyes and i will do everything i can to make sure everyone is aware about how you guys treat women and how you guys horribly handle the situation last night. I AM COMPLETELY DISGUSTED AT HOW I WAS TREATED!! Everyone involved including the security guards and owner that is how they treat women!!

The owner Arturo and the manager that night as well took care of us and the staff is some of the friendliest people I’ve seen run a place!! Loved it had a great time and my friends all did too.

Bouncers are racist and do not treat people well. Again the bar or dance club itself is not so well either. It looks like upscale place however, the crowd in there is cheap stuck up and pretentious! I would not recommend this place for anyone in chicago to hangout or have fun. There are many other places lot better than this one!

Great atmosphere. The staff is not racist however. The entry bouncers follow the instructions of 1 black person to every 6 white person every 2hrs. And the black person should be completely well dress. No casual shoes of any kind must be expensive freshly shined shoes. If you are black regardless if male or female and a group of 3 or more just turn around. They have plenty black bouncers so according to them they are not racist. But the entry policy of this night club is a racist policy

They worked well with me for table reservations. We got free cookies at the end of the night for our birthday girl. It is disappointing that we did not get comped a free bottle when there was 18 of us girls though. In Vegas we would have gotten better deals.

The doorman are tough initially but they let you in if you insist. The place is good and the music also - but don't expect too much. Nice people - but not some of the security guys. Specially one with red head and bear around the mouth - so unrespectful! He ruined all the experience.

If I could rate this place 0 I DEFINETELY would. They had an “open call” which me and my friend went and applyed on the 23rd (May) for cocktail servers, I would start off by saying me and her are Hispanic, we went inside and the lady told us to write our names and position for which we were applying and also “ethnicity”, she said since they were full we had to wait 40 mins which we did, while we waited for those 40min we saw there was more caucasian people than Hispanic applying, I started noticing and also when we wrote down our information that they were imidiatly hiring people, also not to mention that the people that was being interviewed before (caucasian) us after they interview they will make them wait, they call my name and they guy said “I’m going to make it fast” while he was interviewing me he wasn’t even making eye contact and gave an attitude like if he already knew and made the decision that I wasn’t going to be hired, after the 5min “interview” he said “we will hold the applications and call you guys tomorrow” which it never happened. And now by looking at all this reviews it makes sense that what I was noticing “racist behavior” it was true, nothing but facts. I’m here wondering why not being honest... I’ve come from better places and I can assure you guys that’s not how upscale clubs act. For the owners and staff let me ask you something, is your clientele the same? Let’s see if you guys get the message.

Just went there with a group of 20 cash ready to have a good time. The white dude in the entrance didn't let me in supposedly for being to casual, ( ferragamo shoes , lacoste polo and some dak dress pants) there was actually people coming in in air force ones and t shirts. Talk about being racist , first time coming in and didn't even let me in..... little do this people know that i own a club myself. Horrible HORRIBLEE CUSTOMER SERVICE. AVOID THIS PLACE. They ask you for your ID when you open a tab and then don't give it back when you close out. They do not respond to emails or calls. Other people on this thread have had the exact same experience. Bottom line is if you leave this place without your ID you will never see it again. Not at all impressed with this club. My friends come here a lot and always tell me how they get scammed on bottle service because apparently the waitresses don't know how to count money. I decided to give it a try anyways and thought maybe it was just a one time occurence...it couldn't be THAT bad, right? So I came here with some girlfriends on a busy Saturday night and could not believe just how horrible the service was. Our waitress had an attitude with us from the start and made us feel very uncomfortable. And from what it looked like, she had an attitude with other waitresses as well? She then gave us one bottle when we specifically asked for 2 AND ended up charging us for 3 bottles!!! We spoke to a manager who corrected it but looked very embarrassed and didn't seem to want to go near, let alone say anything, to our waitress who did not apologize at all. Needless to say, she didn't get a very good tip. That was pretty much the last straw and the whole time this was happening, these two patrons at the table next to us were throwing drinks on each other...while security was doing nothing about it.... The music sounded like every other club in the city and the atmosphere is so crowded, so be prepared to rub up against sweaty patrons non-stop. My tip? Don't spend your hard-earned money on poor service and a nasty atmosphere. There are FAR better places to be.

Went here because it was open late, and never been here before. Gave the door lady my card for cover and she told me it was $20 so I left but forgot my card. Came back 10 minutes later to ask for it and said they didn’t have it, and bouncers acted like macho tough guys, although I came in as reasonable and calm as I could. (Because not a big deal all it takes is a phone call to cancel). The girl taking cards for cover is either very petty or def. needs more money. Bad staff. Won’t bother with this place anymore.

I was called a ni**a three times and threatened to be shot because I was close to a potential altercation while waiting for my lyft ride outside of the venue. When I consulted the bouncers for help they did not respond. I’m appalled and offended that because they are not there to crowd control, they just stand around.

Me and my friend were all exited going to underground night club, around 12 and yes we dress to impress following the dress code and all, but the bouncer look at us and said wait here for a second as he talk to his buddy! then the bouncer said he cant allow usto come in because they are really full! Yet they kept letting all these skinny skimpy dressing white girl's in the club so i told i thought you was full?bouncer responded they have resevation ladys sorry but we cant let you in.... so beware if you are nit white because they do judge you for being brown or black,doesnt matter if your dress very fancy and are good looking if you are not white.this was the second time weve tryed and this bs.dont waste youre time with this place.

Don’t even waist your time! I was inside with a frIend for 2 hours and my friend got there and they refused to let him in. I went outside to try find out what was going on and when approached the bouncers they were extremely rude and told me to either go back inside immediately or go somewhere else! We all ended up leaving somewhere else. Bouncers are rude and drinks are overpriced.

The nightlife industry in Chicago should be ashamed of this place. Went there with a friend and 3 ladies. We were in dress code but Security was obviously just allowing ladies in even after we agreed to purchase bottle service then something must have struck his head and he just turned around and pushed us. One of the ladies asked why and just grabbed her literally by the face and pushed her to the extent that she ended up breaking her left heel. Disappointed. Especially since I’m an industry person in my hometown.

My twin sister and I celebrated our 21st in Chicago and happened to stay right next to this club. It was an AMAZING experience, incredible service, and great bouncers. The whole night seemed unreal with the kindness and good vibes. Our group of 5 happened to get free cover, free coat check, reserved tables, and bottle service. The only thing that was a little off was when I was ordering our birthday drink with the ticket we got and the bartender said if they don’t see cash they won’t serve me.. even though I had cash in my purse. Felt disrespected, and that didn’t give me the experience at first to want to spend or after that tip someone that insulted me and wouldn’t serve me cause they didn’t think they wouldn’t get tipped.

I moved around quite a lot and lived in several different countries and went out to good clubs in many major cities and I have never been to a club like Underground. It's definitely not easy to get into Underground and that's actually the first thing I appreciate. I rather not be able to get into a club every single time knowing I will always enjoy the crowd once I'm there. But what makes the place so special are the people working there. For a prime club like this, the staff is very respectful, humble and just truly good people. I never enjoyed talking to the staff as much as I do in Underground and it's even a big part of what I'm looking forward to when going there. Very bad experience, bouncer looked at my friend and me from head to toe and then told us that we could not go in, even though we were wearing appropriate attire. We felt descriminated, go to another place.

Showed up with 8 friends, as this place was recommended for some reason, then was told by the 45 YEAR OLD DOORMAN that he "wasn't letting a Cubs fan in the door"(I was wearing a Cubbies hat). Then he went on to say that my $200 Nike's were "too casual". Unbelievable.

This club is racist as they come. I'm from North Carolina and I've seen my share of descrimination, however this place tops the list. Not once, but two nights in a row me and my African American friends were turned away because we didn't have reservations. Yet the 10 white women behind us walked in without being asked if they had a reservation. Reservations for a night club? Really? Places like this need to be shut down and brought back to 2018 reality! I'm a proponent for equality and this establishment and its staff have made a very big mistake. Signed Black man of America

Everything inside the club was cool... But the doorguys where insane . Very bad treatment not letting my uber to pull to the curb. The bouncer started fighting I am getting into the car . Worst outside management think you guys need to change the staff!

I will not be coming to this club again. I will also be sharing my experience with everyone I know. I had planned a party with initially 9 people-$1000. We ended showing up with only 5 people. $750 they said. We were placed way in the back by the door, I’m guessing because we only had two females in the group. Then our friends showed up and because they were men they were unable to go in. Only one girl was able to make it in. We ended up getting a 2nd bottle when our friends showed up outside. They couldn’t get in so we didn’t even get to finish our second bottle and had to leave—And I was charged $1100 for the night. This was such a disappointing experience when I heard such good things about this place.

I dropped off my friends (3 girls and a guy) and went to park the car. When I arrived 10 minutes later, there were only a few people in line so I thought I would get in quickly. After waiting in line for an hour and watching a few hundred people go in before me, I realized that this club was sleazy. Bouncers only take girls or parties with girls. One bouncer even told me "you're wasting your time man, we aren't taking single guys." The only way I could get in was by slipping a bouncer $100. Inside it wasn't much better. Unless you had a table, there was hardly anyplace to stand/dance. I guess if you like bouncers telling you to move all the time and a bunch of people bumping into you all night, it's a decent place. Music was awesome and drinks were excellent, but everything else about the atmosphere was sleazy. Not sure what all the hype was about, but there are many other bars and clubs that are way better.

i guess they don't admit men after 12am unless you have a table/bottle service. once you are in, everything is expensive and watered down. but they give out freshly baked cookies at the end of the night.

My 3 friends and I had an amazing time here celebrating our birthdays. We arrived around 10:30 pm and since it was early, the manager gave us a personal tour and gave us a round on the house. We loved it. Fun crowd!

Absolutely rude customer service. Came to Chicago for a weekend trip with my girls. Bouncers were really rude, we tried talking to them to get in but they choose to let the people behind us go in ( btw we were in front of the line) they weren’t even on the guest list or Had reservations! He totally ignored us. Never again will I go here nor should you ever go!

The bouncers here really ruin the atmosphere..we were here yesterday and was heading in when one of the bouncers split up our party and told us to get back in line. I asked him how can you split up a group and he responded I'm just doing what my boss tells me to do just to let six other groups in that were not there for a reservation. We remained calm and didn't cause a scene but it was frustrating being in the front waiting to get in with the rest of our party while this bouncer is altogether ignoring us and letting other people in that's behind us. Fortunately another bouncer recognized us and let us in with no issues, but it shouldn't have had to come down to that. Chicago has a plethora of clubs, bars and lounges that have great bouncers with great people skills if Underground doesn't get better bouncers I don't see how it will last while better club scenes exist.

The space was nice with multiple bars and enough space to dance. The hospitality was amazing! The bouncers allowed us to occupy a booth until it was rented. Then he ushered us to an alternative space, which was very nice. They gave out fresh baked cookies and complimentary margarita shots. The music was great with top 60 hits from the past and present with real clever and novel mixing of songs. We had fun!

Absolutely terrible customer service. My friends and i bought tickets for st. Patrick's day weeks before and they were still not letting us in saying they were at capacity. They were accepting bribes but not letting those who actually had tickets in. When we were finally let in they refused to give us the drink vouchers that we PAID for. Instead they gave us one and said they couldn't help us. After this my friend was reasonably upset because of the unfair treatment and expressed his frustration (non-threatening to the staff or anyone) as we were walking in and one of the bouncers shoved him into wall then forced him out. This treatment was unacceptable and uncalled for we were paying customers that only wanted what we paid for.

After being at this club on the morning of St. Patricks day, I lost a very important item to me. After 2 days of non stop calling and reaching only voicemail , and emailing their lost and found email NO RESPONSE. EXTREMELY unprofessional , what kind of business runs like this? Do you not care about customer service? Extremely rude bouncers and security at the club. NEVER coming back and would never recommend again.

Would give zero stars if that was possible. Cheap club atmosphere, can't get drinks, inattentive bartenders, but worst of all: aggressive bouncers. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. I would love to talk to a manager about my experience here, specifically to file a complaint against a bouncer.

I dont recommend this place No dance floor if u wanna dance tha dj played horrible the night I came there Very Rude Actitud from one the security he grabbed my hand and phone saying I could to record inside cause the workers and specially him could not be recorded I found that ridiculous I contacted the page and sent a privet message they left me in seen and never responds DONT COME HERE not a good place to have fun

Honestly, the bouncers are not racist at all. If you're polite and follow their dress code, you'll get in fine. I came here based on a friend's reference and loved it so much. John and Eddie (a few of the infamous bouncers that people kept ranting on) were incredible. They were friendly and cordial with my friends and I from the beginning to the end. They made is feel safe and watched out for drunken guys trying to get into our table. Which by the way, was free to us all night. Thank you so much for making our first time experience unforgettable with your generosity. Human kindness still exist even if it comes with stern faces as they have to look serious while at work.
