I got kicked out for no reason I was resting at the booth next to the front door and some guy grabbed me telling me I had to leave! My friends were still inside celebrating, but I didn’t need to cause a scene so I left peacefully. If you wanna take the risk for over priced drinks and employees kicking you out without much reason be my guest but I’m going to recommend go to the bar across the street it was a lot more lite then Debonair on a FRIDAY NIGHT. Just saying that says a lot for it’s business. They definitely won’t respect you if it comes down to it and I won’t recommend going here again for any of my friends they lost my business after that incident and a couple of my friends as well.

Lively dance bar with two dance floors (basement was playing drum n' bass, top floor was pop). Drinks are reasonably priced, bartenders are attentive and nice, and bouncers are (surprisingly) reasonable. We had $5 cover on a Saturday.

Security guard Jeff is the most amazing guard ever! He was so kind and respectful, answered all my questions about the club policies and showed no type of impatience with them. I would definitely recommend coming here, strong drinks and friendly staff inside the club and outside!

Came here to check out my friend's band. We had an awesome time...afterwards, they opened up the dance floor to a crowd of 20-somethings trying too hard. Definitely not my scene. I heard this is where Neo moved to, but I doubt it has the same feel that it did years ago.

Words can't really describe my bizarre, manic love for this place. The music hits all of the right spots. Great place to go dance like an idiot without worrying about what you look like. Really fun place for a girls night, or just any night when you've had a long week and need to bust some moves.

A hit or miss sort of place. It doesn't get happening til 1 in the morning, and it closes at 2. Make whatever you want out of that. Also the cover charge sucks. Service is good, though, and so are the patrons. For the most part.

Never been to this place before. I was with a friend and walked by looking for a place to dance. Bouncer noticed that we were curious about the place and let us in without a cover to experience the club. The DJ upstairs was phenomenal. He played hip hop, electronic, and some pop sprinkled in the mix. I danced for three hours straight. The staff handed us water bottles, and made sure we had a great time. I highly recommend this club as an alternative to the trendier Chicago spots.

Amazing sound system, great service and the DJ's are some of the best I've ever heard. One night I misplaced my keys and the next day when I came by they had them at the bar waiting for me. Super happy and will definitely return when in town. Highly suggest this establishment.

Average night club with live music. Downstairs area turns into a dance club with DJ. Drinks are not that great and bartenders will cheat you out of your change if you are not careful. They change prices on the fly to see what they can get away with. Go somewhere if you want better drinks, better music, and to not be ripped off by your server.

TL;DR: Debonair currently has a bartender who is racist against Asians Yesterday night, my partner and I went to Debonair. I've loved Debonair in the past. The bartender downstairs (with the drum & bass) refused to serve us for 45 minutes, until the bar shut down at 1:30 am. I tried everything. I tried making eye contact. I tried waving. I took out my wallet and held money in my hand, but there was no relief in the form of alcohol. We watched helplessly as he served everyone else multiple times and he was flirting with the other (male) customers. He would not even make eye contact with us. When we stated the fact that he served everyone else twice before he served us once, he did not apologize and he simply said "That doesn't make me happy." We were two clean and well-dressed Asians. I believe he discriminated against us because we are Asian. I gave him $20 for $16 of drinks and told him to keep the change because I don't want him discriminating against Asians in the future.

This was my favorite spot to party for years until I stopped coming out. The place plays retro music, has great deals on drinks, thats enough already right? The decor is very retro, almost 70's 80's style give or take. The drinks are cheap, and the people are good. Check it out if your in the Wicker Area.

I've been 2 times and the 1st time I wasn't impressed with the music or the crowd upstairs. The second time I went they had the basement open with an amazing house dj and I ejoyed gettin' down with my friends. The sweaty dark basement is the way to go

This was an excellent place to hang out at. The DJ the night i went was on fire, and people where actually into the music! i had a great time, a little expensive, but worth it, especially with the types of dj's that they contract. be aware though... there is a cover!!

Decent club for the neighborhood. Basic lightwalls and cube risers that they let guys dance on too... (Was shocked they allowed that) Poor M/F Ratio. Downstairs was pretty empty dominated by a bunch of older punk/emo folks. Weird... This place really should have a dress code though.

A great place for organizing parties like birthday parties and big group events. A good mix between club and hipster hang out. Decent interior and good music- drinks are on the pricier side, but it's always a good time.

In my opinion, Debonair is the top late night dance spot in the whole city! Excellent DJs, the red wall on the dance floor, and the sweet smell of shots being poured create the perfect sensory party. Drink prices are reasonable and there is a downstairs if it feels too crowded upstairs. Expect to sweat on the dance floor!

Came here for a friend's show, seemed much more polished than I anticipated, but that was a good thing. It is much smaller than other live music bars, but they make it work since there are different levels. Good hangout spot after hours, and music selection is usually pretty thought out.

I bought 3 drinks for 28 dollars and when I went back to buy the exact same drink, another bartender charged me 21 for the EXACT SAME DRINKS. the first bartender was clearly drunk and overcharged me.

Great music and sound system. Entry was 5$ on Saturday, hip hop was on the main floor. We had so much fun and alcohol prices are ok. Great memories on a weekend. They have two dance floors , when we visited again the DJ who played before was playing on ground floor.

Excellent bar with ample room to dance. Drum and bass nights are my favorite. Formerly on Tuesdays, at the start of 2019 they moved it to Wednesdays and their line-ups have not disappointed. Very welcoming space with another bar and dance floor in the basement for events as well. I definitely recommend stopping by. Grab a bite to eat before as I haven't been able to order food there in a year.

Great night club located at the heart of Wicker Park. Inconspicuous from the outside, absolute party on the inside. Cheap coatcheck in the basement too for wintertime. Usually a $5 cover per person but it's worth it. Big dancefloor which is hard to find in Wicker. Two different DJs, one upstairs and one in the basement. Usually pretty quick bar service. Enough tables to find one with your friends if you want to. Sometimes too loud to try and meet people though! More just for dancing.

Solid Chicago location for dancing on a weekend. Get up on the dance floor by the DJ! Usually $5 cover on weekends when I've gone. Closed out this bar recently and wanted to keep dancing till 4am and some people on the street directed me to The Loft right around the corner.

Ive really only been here on monday Rehab nights. Which are always fun, some mondays are more poppin then others (guest DJ nights, Lolla announcement party), but some times you gotta make that monday pop if no one else will. You gotta start the party and you'll be the belle of the ball. Haven't really been on other nights but Monday's you can expect a hipster-ish crowd, with some bros and suburbanite hipsters mixed in.

I will never go back to Debonair. They have a $20 dollar minimum on credit cards, which isn't a big deal. But they take your ID with your credit card to start a tab, which I thought was strange to begin with. I ended leaving the bar without closing my tab, realized in the cab what I did and decided to go back next day to get it. They open at 10pm during the week so I couldn't get there for about 3 days. I check my credit card statement and they charged me $40. Although I did not spend the full $20 minimum. Nice 100% tip for the bartenders. When I go back to Debonair they tell me they don't have my ID OR credit card. But they were able to charge my card without a signature. It's one thing to take a credit card, but it's absolutely ridiculous to take an ID for a tab when you are not competent to safely secure it. That will be the last time I ever walk into this establishment. I am a 31 year old professional whose lived in the city for 6 years and I have never experience such incompetence when securing peoples personal information before. BEWARE!!

Don't bother going to the Wednesday burlesque. All the information on line is wrong. Doors open at 10pm when everything onling besides their Facebook says 9pm. I also found out from the bartender that the burlesque only happens on the first of every month. There isn't anything online that mentioned this. I'm sitting here at 11:15pm and there is a total of 8 people here. On top of all that, there isn't anything on draft. The can selection is simple and basic. First time coming here and will definitely be the last. Update: it's 11:40pm and the burlesque has still yet to start. Honestly, it's sad. Even with the loud music the energy is so low. At this point in not sure the show will ever start. Management needs to promote this night so much better.

Was here for Halloween bar crawl. This place was completly packed. There was any space to walk. Also, the whole place was smokey. The drinks were mediocre. I saw one of the employees bring in ice in a bucket and used his hand to dump ice at the bar. I am pretty sure its sanitary. We were there for 20 mins and entire atmosphere felt nauseating. 3 stars because 1. It was lively club with good music 2. Rest rooms were clean 3. Really liked the 2 floor concept of dance floor.

Debonair's is pretty hypster and awesome all around. there is two levels and both are amazingly great in their own way. the basement is awesome to get lost in and dance and meet new people. Upstairs there is enough room to move around and get lost either on stage or on the ledge by the big screen! The energy is very high there and everyone is always dancing and moving around. There are even events, such as burlesque events that happen every once in a while that are perfect for a chill night out with a little bit of extra fun.

I rarely ever feel inclined to leave reviews, but after experiencing the sincere hospitality at Debonair, I WANT to! My friend and I are from Nebraska and decided to take a last minute girls trip to Chicago. We actually sort of stumbled on the club after eating at Furious Spoon, but we instantly hit it off with one of the bartenders, Matt. He was poking fun at us for being there so early. Turns out, it was one of the owners and he immediately made us feel extremely welcome by giving us a tour, taking our coats and offering us a reserved table. Best bar/club we visited! I wish we could have come back after visiting another club, but one of the girls with us was too intoxicated. :( Definitely will be back to visit on our next trip! THANK YOU, MATT!

I've been here on two occasions, once for a Kilo Kai launch party before a show at Double Door, and once for an EA presentation of Need for Speed. Both times, I had a good time here. Seems like a solid event space that's adaptable to different types of events.

This place has a nice athstetic but I found several of the staff there rude for no real reason. The "Sound Guy" leaves much to be desired as he was not also arrogant, talentless and rude but I'm sure he won't get very far in life with that trifecta of ignorance. The one important thing is BANDS and any other patron in the music industry beware of this place as they will skip out and not pay the acts along with treating them like crap while the hack of a sound guy will make make your singer sound like they are coming out of a tin can. In the end all I can do is recommend the owner of this establishment to get ride of the hack sound guy and get a new one and to also explain to your staff the ethics of treating customers like real human beings. Lets be real here and understand it is the PEOPLE who pay your bills and keep your business afloat and not the other way around.
