TLDR - If you help a girl get her purse back, the owner will assault you.
I've been to Nocturna many, many times over the years. It used to be one of my favorite places, and was always filled with business. Steadily, I've seen a decrease in business and I wondered why. Tonight, I think I learned the reason.
Tonight one of the customers was harassing a girl and taking her purse. In response, I asked her if the guy who was taking her purse was a friend, maybe they were playing around. She responded in distress and said no. So, I took her purse from the guy and gave it back to her. The guy, outraged that I took the purse from him, got in my face and started taunting- obviously instigating a physical confrontation. At that point, another guy(I was told it was the owner) grabbed me by the collar of my shirt with the words "If you have a problem with him, you have a problem with me!" Now let me confirm, I am no delinquent. I saw a girl in trouble, and I responded. I wasn't trying to start trouble, simply resolve it. I was already on my way out, so I finished closing my tab and walked out.
I am outraged at what was allowed to unfold at one of my favorite spots. I'm still not sure who grabbed me by the collar, but I was told over and over that it was the owner, and I'm hoping I get a response. Apparently, if you're a regular, you can act how you want and the owner will assault anyone you have conflict with. I cannot support a business who has an owner who would blindly rush in and assault a customer without really paying attention to what happened. If you want to show loyalty to your regular customer, how about just tell me to leave? No need to get physical.
If I am wrong, and it wasn't the owner, please let me know and I will be happy to revise/edit this post.
