Is there a sixth star? I had an absolute blast here! The food was amazing! Delicious delicacies from Spain, and an AMAZING atmosphere made this my new go to place in San Diego.

paul zavidniak

Great location. Great food. Great music. Put them all together and it's great fun!! A wonderful place to spend an evening!

Raquel Pulinario

Excellent atmosphere. Live music. Delicous tapas and great drinks. Highly recommended. Great service and very unique tasteful food.

Amani Journey

And...another great night was had by all! Taking my son and his boyfriend here for the first time was a great choice! They enjoyed everything about it and we loved introducing them to this great, fun place!! Dueling pianos are always fun but this place NEVER disappoints!

Rhodes Baker

Great paella, outdoor seating, good service and a relaxed environment.

Nichole Cooper

The atmosphere was pleasant although a little too loud to carry on a conversation. The paella was not that good :(

Puneet Dhar

Excellent location in the southern end of the gaslamp quarter near the overhead sign on fifth Avenue, with proximity to the convention centre and most hotels. Extremely friendly and cordial staff help you with the myriad choices! Excellent selection of drinks including a variety of sangria in addition to the traditional one (loved the white wine cinnamon version!). Fantastic array of tapas and paella. Liked the black seafood paella where the rice is cooked in squid ink! Highly recommended!

MIGUEL MORENO

warning, they charged my wife and I $15.00 just to get in. we are not even ordering food anymore after this bad experience

Somya Arora

The vibe, music, ambience and service is amazing. The month's special cocktail with smoked rosemary was absolutely great. Food could have been better.

Irina Alexandrova

Always the best night out! Check out their restaurant upstairs and make sure to try hamon iberico, tuna tartar and freshly baked bread with some cheese. The desserts are to die for! And they have amazing live music almost every day! To finish off the night check out their bachata and salsa classes downstairs and don't forget sangria

Nice decor, great host, acceptable food. NOT a $$ restaurant. Cafe Sevilla is firmly in the $$$+ range with a per-person cost of >$30 despite ordering two tapas plates, a small paella, and a pitcher for a table of 3. We got one meatball each, one small bite of steak, 2 glasses of overly sweet sangria and mostly rice otherwise. Have tried suggesting an edit, but Google says the owner lists the price range. I consider that deceptive marketing.

OMG we loved this place. We're went least night, the food was amazing and they had a live band. Don't remember the band's name, but they were awesome. Great drinks, great staff, great food, great atmosphere and we would definitely go back.

Chelsea Roeser

Very good food! The meat paella and braised short rib was amazing. This was the only place we could find still serving food late at sdcc! It was a great place to relax and decompress after a long day. Band was great, too!

Nicole Aydë

Amazing place. Went back twice in one day during Comic Con. Highly recommend their sangrias!! Everything I ate was also amazing. Staff was super friendly as well. The only bummer is it isn't the most friendly for those with physical disabilities. No elevator and bathroom is upstairs.

Bella Anducky

Really enjoyed the tapas here. Favorites- bacon wrapped dates and olive loaf. Based on reviews, I was expecting it to be loud but it was actually quite chill. Perhaps because we went on a Tuesday. Also - great decor!

Klemens Ruoss

Good attention but superficial and indifferent. Some tapas were excellent others rather average. Lamp chops were disappointing, to dry, over cooked. Meet balls way to salty. Price were too high to what we received. Overall I expected much more, after all the good recommendations we received for Cafe Sevilla

Danny Johnson

My friends and I were in the area and one suggested we go in for night cap. I loved it beautiful space. I was only on the main and second floors but I understand there is a full on dance space below. We listened to live music at the bar. It was terrific.

Gladys De los Santos

Great tapas selection. Friendly service. Nice environment. A little loud, but the place was packed.

Toma Sokolik

Couldn't have asked for more authentic Spanish food and wine. It reminded me of my dining experience in Spain. The bartenders were polite and exemplary. Will be sure to come back again the next time I am in town.

Amanda Adams

Went here recently for a dinner show and it was AMAZING! The food was delicious and the dancing was fantastic. It also transitions into a dance club during late night, which was also fun. Bring a sweater for the dinner shows, as it is cold for the dancers who are working hard. They were a great option for a large group and I was so impressed!

Jessica Taylor

I love the Paella and the atmosphere. Been coming here for years. If paella is not your thing. Just go get a couple of tapas and a drink

s macrae

Great venue. Especially outside, the singer guitarist would have been a little loud inside. The portions for tapas for our European taste were massive! Dont do what I did and order thinking there going to be as in Spain otherwise you'll be eating for a week.

劉世猷

There are many tapas and other meals serve to the customers. The waiter or waitress would give you some suggestions when you are hard to choose. The grilled lamb is awesome. The meat is so tender and easy for biting.

Benjamin Titmus

Tapas were very good. We found the paella to be a little dry. As someone who lived in Spain, the rice doesn’t really have the saffron taste, heavy on the pepper. Wouldn’t say the place is worth the price

Rebecca Holliday

Love this place. Food is just like i remember from spain. A must. Great place. See you there.

Mike

It's ok. I lived in Spain for a few years. Cafe Seville is not traditional or accurate but is more of a good fusion style. Their paella was the best part. My wife and I got the 5 course dinner and I wish we just skipped it and got the paella and tortilla. The tortilla was not traditional but was very good. I would recommend either of those options but the rest of our meal was not particularly good.

Dave waldmann

Great bartender. Like the selection of drinks. Best jabon around

Tiffany Norris

So fun! I highly recommend going here. The dueling pianos are a blast to watch. The music is so good and the show is interactive! This bar has a great atmosphere! If you haven't been here before you need to check it out. Also the service is really good. Drinks are good as well.

Robert Wascher

Everything we tried was delicious (including the homemade sangria), and the service was excellent! The ambience and decor were both unique and welcoming. Because we dined here during happy hour (4-6 PM), we also received $3.00 off on …

Lazaro Fonte

What a great show! Food was good and the show was awesome!! Fun to go and visit.

Kat Blue

My daughter brought me here for the mother's day brunch. There was a lovely multi-course meal or paella choice and all our food was delicious. The music and flamenco dancing was fun to watch. Although the service was very good, there was quite a delay with getting food out to everybody. Thankfully, this performance kept us entertained as we waited. We really enjoyed Cafe Sevilla and will be back.

We went for late night dining Sunday as we were told the kitchen closed at midnight and the restaurant at 1 am. We arrived, there was no hostess and we saw a sign that said "Seat Yourself" so we found a table and sat down. After a few minutes a manager comes to our table and says that table is reserved, we told him there was no hostess. He was very rude and said well I will have to try to find a waiter to help you. We never saw him again. A few minutes later we get help from a waiter, he was very nice and attentive. We ordered the paella and empanadas but the food was bad, I guess the cooks were in a hurry b/c things came out burned. We ate it because we were hungry. Overall the service was good but the food was not.

I've been to the Long Beach location and finally made it to the one here in San Diego. My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. Everything was delicious. We had the halibut and shrimp ceviche as well as the beef empanadas for our appetizers. For our main course I had the 'Marinera' Seafood Paella. It was amazing. My husband got the short rib which was amazing as well. They are kid friendly, having a decent kids menu. Service was great also.

Eileen Tompkins

Went here for a company gathering. Food was good, atmosphere delightful. Love the band. Food was a bit short on serving size though. But will have to come back for a more intimate setting.

Kelly Joslin

Great atmosphere. Good tapas. Didn't try enough for a five star review. But enjoyed what we had.

Iveth Ruso

One of my favorite places in San Diego! We go here whenever we want a relaxed evening and great food. I'm also a fan of live music, which they also have. My favorite drinks are the Classic Sangria or El Matador Margarita!

Tom Hurt

Paella was excellent, as was the service! Happy hour prices on drinks, too.

balraj mann

Nice tapas. Live music and welcoming staff

Tej Mehta

Pretty good food. We did the "tour through Spain" for 2. Essentially you can pick some tapas, entrees and share a dessert, you also get $20 off a bottle of wine or a pitcher of sangria. We were fairly happy with the dishes we picked but it was too much food and some of the tapas seemed gimmicky.

Erma Kelley

I went last week for the first time - had a blast! I've been to other piano bars years ago, but this was the best experience by far (even though the piano guy called me out!). I'll be back for sure.

Wilfredo Vélez

Excellent food! I had the Valenciana paella and was excellent. My friend had tapas, all good!!!

Yang Ha

Their happy hour is a bait! At check out, they said no happy hour today because they have too many guests. They also charge 4% surcharge. When I asked what that is, the waitress tell me it is a San Diego tax that every restaurant charges. Excuse me? I am a tourist, but I had dinner at downtown restaurants just yesterday, and they did not charge such thing. They said this was too balance their increasing cost. Then why don't you simply increase the price on the menu? Ah, because your food is already very pricy. An appetizer would cost 15 ( check the photo. ), main dish around 30. I would not have chosen here if they did not put the happy hour discount on their ad, but as it turned out to be a bait.

Frank Reyes

The music was fun. The ambience was celebratory. The food was really good. Service was amazing. Turns out she is a dancer and has so much history to contribute to the experience in terms of her personal background. The musicians were playing music that was a cross of Gypsy and Cuban flair (Gypsy Kings and Havana Social club). We ordered several tapas, paella, and the red sangria. The scallops got rave reviews from our group. Please note that the portions of the tapas seem to be geared towards groups of 4. Paella was done just right where none of the mariscos were over cooked not was the rice dry. It was just right. The sangria went down smooth and easy. I would come back here any day of the week.

Augustus Yuan

Very delicious, quality service, and amazing Tapas. I recommend the Calamari, Spanish Sausage, and the Scallops. The service was also really good -- very attentive and a great atmosphere.

John Ryan

Excellent Spanish wine flights. The paella wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was pretty good. Desserts were excellent. Service was very friendly and efficient.

This place is trying to be as luxurious as some high VIP. But it's not. They hold up all the tables for bottle services and don't let anybody sit down. I guess if you're stupid enough to pay for extra money on tables you'll like this place. Kind of for the crowd that really isn't somebody and wants to act like there's somebody definitely Sevilla

The Art of Amy Elizabeth Quirk

We had a wonderful experience. I think our waiter was Mauricio?? I could be wrong. The place get loud especially on the weekends. Great music, dancing and a very nice wine selection. We had Chateau Monelena Cab

Simon Brown

Excellent tapas. The service was good almost a little too fast but the overall experience was one that we will do again.

Matt Sigal

Great food. Very friendly and attentive staff. Family friendly. Best tapas I've had since Barcelona & Mallorca.

Edaw Mañana

It's simple.... It was Awesome, best night in San Diego. From the food to the music and dancing. Simply awesome

Carolina Pinto

Delicious food and drinks, I love Friday night live music! Great place to meet single people too...

Preston Ross

Honestly one of the greatest places i have ever eaten at. The restraunt provides five star food with five star entertainment. A very friendly staff is also a nice addition. They have the most flavorful foods i have ever eaten in my life. This is a must have if you are in town. A California Landmark restaurant.

G. Ib.

Pricey. Food tastes meh.. Staff clueless about items on menu, rude and careless.

sanjeev raj

The service was superior as well as the food was also better. Can not wait to return!! We had the premium wine trip, paella, bacon wrapped dates as well as Chilean Sea bass. The food arrived hot. The ideal degree of spice. The waiter offered suggestions as well as examined us commonly. The were charming.Love this location.

Henry D

Great Tapas place in the Gaslamp district. A bit pricey and portions not very big but quality of food is there. Sangria was also very good. The staff very friendly and attentive.

Christopher Graff

Chef was fantastic, went out his way for us. The food was totally on point. Live music was rockin. Super fun atmosphere.

Joran Zeno

We were seated when there was no music, but then the band came out while we were eating. The live music was way too loud (they really don't need much amplification) and made it near impossible to say anything to my friends. Food was very tasty, but portions are too small.

Giovanni Mendez

Poor seating. Made a reservation had to wait 25 minutes for our reserved table. Delay caused my wife and I to miss the beginning of the show we payed for we did miss half hour of the show but to be honest food was good and the show turned out to be marvelous

Shirlie Coles Laipple

My husband and I went there and watch the show and ate dinner and we’re very very happy with our experience. The show was wonderful and the food was great. Definitely a good value.

jennifer matoske

Great atmosphere, elegant decor. Had to chase down servers to get a glass of water but other than that our server was attentive. I think $30 for a plate of paella is a bit overpriced. However, it was delicious as were the empanadas. Will be back when I'm feeling rich.

Gracie s

Had dinner right here on the last evening of our last trip, and we uncovered what we've been missing.Cafe Sevilla offers genuine paella as well as other Spanish recipes as excellent as, or far better than, the cuisine experienced on numerous journeys to Spain. Following trip we'll choose the very first flooring, which has a high power vibe. And we'll be sure to come on Saturday night for The Art of Flamenco dinner program.

Alan A

I loved this place! All of the food was excellent and we had a great, friendly server who also shared tips for visiting San Diego. The inside is beauuuutiful, lively, but somehow isn’t too loud that you can’t hear your companions. The 5-course Journey through Spain for Two was delicious and at a unheard-of price ($40 pp)—don’t miss out on the chicken skewers! We couldn’t get tickets to the flamenco performance on the weekends, but definitely something we’ll try next time!

Viet Dinh

Nice place for a night out. I wasn’t interested in Spanish food but the mood and music were the best experience at Cafe Sevilla. Drinks were also good and price was reasonable Highly recommend for couple or group of friends. Will be back when I come to San Diego

Robin Krause

Highly recommended for authentic Spanish food. We shared a couple of tapas and wine flights. The (mostly Tempranillo) wine flight was very good and was a good variety. We also had a Cava flight and these were also nice, dry and varied. The rose cava was outstanding. Service was impeccable and since we were there during Happy Hour, the prices were very reasonable.

Anthony Deotto

My wife and I loved this place. The paella was AWESOME and the sangria was strong! The live music was fantastic as well.

Hector Diaz

My wife and I absolutely loved this restaurant! It was our first time eating Spanish dishes and we can say that we found a new cuisine to look forward to. Our waitress, Jackelyn, was really nice and was able to help us choose our menu base on what we like. It gets busy on the weekends since they have live music and a club next door so might need to wait to get seated but it will be worth it!

Melissa Shields

Delicious tapas; you must try the Datiles Rellenos! Friendly and charming staff and live music made the evening a relaxing delight! If you are looking for atmosphere, this is the place to go.

jack pabioyikis

I'm really reviewing the music here on Thursday nights. The musicians they have are absolutely fantastic, and that is what they are: MUSICIANS. If you want to hear some great live music on Thursday nights and enjoy a cocktail and quick bite, this place is great. Awesome place for a first date.

Rose S

Went to Cafe Sevilla today to enjoy tapas and cocktails and sat in their patio. After a bit over 2 hours and a tab of over $700 we were asked to leave or they could move us inside because they have a “2hr patio limit”. We ordered food …

Truc Le

The food is always great. The ambiance is amazing. We have to go here at least once a month.

Emma Diaz

Perfect way to start or end a night in the Gas lamp. Relatively cheap drinks with a relaxed atmosphere, good piano players and lots of crowd interaction are all big pluses. You can make requests (please, not Piano Man again) and you can bribe them to stop playing songs sometimes. If you don't like being put on the spot, do not let your friends bring you here on your birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc. If you do fall for it, be a good sport. Service can be slow, and it can be crowded. It is what it is.

Kévin Fauché

Love the place. Great food. Best when there is a concert

Deanna Hernandez

Great food. Great service. Happy hour was terrific with everything on Tapas menu included.

rodolfo cadilla

Trio of empanadas very good. Paella good. Sangria not so good, and ridiculously expensive.

Norma Ramos

Delicious and amazing dining experience! We enjoyed the seafood paella, sangria, and a few tapas and loved every single dish. We didn’t know there would be a flamenco show at 7 pm with live music and we were in for an amazing surprise! This is definitely a must try restaurant if you enjoy Spanish cuisine and a delicious paella.

Joe Ekiert

Incredible place. The food (specifically the paella) was completely out of this world. You need to go here if you enjoy tapas. Throw on the possibility of live music while you finish up your meal and drinks and you got yourself an absolutely wonderful time.

Jörg-Peter Rabanus

Great atmosphere. Santiago was the man behind the bar. He made us a real caiprinha. Requested Brazilian music. Great life music from all parts of the Latin world. Girls dancing. Lots of fun. Latin fever! ...

Oleg Savov

Not Spanish music just loud country mexican music. Also very loud you can't have a conversation even when there is no music
