Catherine Vilson

Amazing view of San Diego and harbor. Its nice in the evening when they have heaters around. Good place to hangout.

Matt Martinez

Neat bar. Good music. Drinks were so so

mary johnson

Just amazing view of the bay and even better with a chilled glass of fizz watching the sun go down! Also nice crowd on weekends with great chill music!

ronald deese

Come here for the view! Absolutely great. There's great music and some good drinks

Arideal K

I come here often and it's really nice! Very laid back and formal! It can be a little chilly so bring a jacket since it's outdoors and all the way of the top of the Marriott! Buy the Adios drink if you like a stronger cocktail, yum!

Djrik Nelson

Don’t waste your time.

Faith Perry

Service is always super even when they have a full house. I had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. The place has a good feel to it.

maureen lynn

Amazing service and view! Literally panoramic of downtown and padres stadium. Great atmosphere and cocktails Beautiful!! My boyfriend and I came across this place while bar hopping. Beautiful scenery and friendly service.

Mike Hirons

Location is pretty cool being above Petco Field. When we went, the season was over, so no games. Good views of the ocean and other parts of San Diego. The bar itself was so-so. No good wine choices and it was pretty dark. Bartender had a little attitude.

Jonathan Mcpherson

The bill was average for the menu. Similar to a cafe in Las Vegas I liked.

Mohamed Ali Elghawil

The management is hiring a group of individuals who are racist and rely on nonsense arguments to prevent you from entering, I was with my four drunk friends and I was the only sober person in the group, they allowed all my friend to go and denied me for the excuse of being drunk. The only issue with that argument is that I never had a drink for my entire life. They were very aggressive and loud while a screaming in my face telling me “you will never go up, period” when we asked to speak the manager we expected an apology but he was more aggressive and full of nonesene.

marie-lou carrière

Very nice view of de city and bay/sea and baseball stade no dress code happy hour beer at 5$ really best place rooftop in san diego

Melissa Chiou

Great views of the stadium and downtown San Diego. Good for happy hour.

Sergio Kalakovich

Awesome view of the harbour, not a place you want to go if your scared of heights, otherwise i highly recommend this bar if your entertaining friends or a business meeting.

Jeff Sims

Great views but unfortunately that is where the accolades stop. Drinks were poor and atmosphere trends towards touristy and 20-something looking for hook-ups. Was expecting a more chic and stylish cocktail bar but his place misses the mark. When the bartender asked me if I wanted my negroni on the rocks, I knew we were on trouble!

Anytime I have any friend in town that wants to check out places that aren't too touristy, I take them to Altitude Sky Lounge. It is HANDS DOWN the best view of all of San Diego. If you're not too big on baseball during the season you can take periodic glances at the game because you can see directly int Petco Park. I also love that it's a nice place to relax and drink with friends but you don't have to be all dressed up to go. There is an indoor lounge with a TV and a fireplace that people tend to congregate around. There is plenty of space to have your own space and view. If you get hungry, you can also get some food from the hotel delivered up to you. The weekends they typically have a DJ but it is by no means a club. 100% lounge and chat feel. When it is busy they have multiple bars open. Slower nights they have the one bar with a beautiful waterfall backdrop. This place presents several opportunities to take photos whether you are a social media influencer or just want a nice picture of you and your significant other! HIGHLY recommend! Definitely bring a jacket or light sweater though as it can be breezy since you're near the water and high up in the city.

Jordan Parkes

The view is great over downtown SD just don't come here on the weekend because people are annoying and drunk by 10pm. Which I would expect at a club not a nice lounge.

Natasha Souza

A great bar! The views were amazing and we went at happy hour and they had decent drink prices. We were able to keep warm by sitting near the fire pit.

Esteban Unknown

I paid for two full cups of ice..... ( ordered two Long Island drinks)

Letriece Patton

Great music and atmosphere. Beautiful views, great drink prices. It was pretty cold but they had plenty of heaters available. Great way to celebrate a milestone birthday.

LaLa Castro

If you're visiting San Diego & you're looking for a good spot for drinks & a view, this is the place. Definitely the spot to be for a sneak peek at a Padres game or concert. Fabulous view!

Jake Haines

For starters, prices are very HIGH! But get over it, because this is the best view in the city. It provides a great, relaxed vibe for any night to get started at. The fire pit is another plus. Very comfortable seating all around the place. Beware, it fills up fast every night.

joe lancer

If you haven't been you seriously need to go and checkout this place. It's crazy cool and has amazing views. It can get a little busy and crowded which is annoying but with a place like this it is expected.

Eduardo Gonzalez

Received two different pours on the same drink (old fashioned) And the one with less was pretty much all bitters.

David K Miller Photography

The perfect spot to have a drink or two and it's where you'll find me in the Gaslamp and where I like to take friends from out of town when they visit. The staff here is top notch and the management went above and beyond to allow us to do a surprise proposal on the helicopter pad as well as set up while they weren't even open. The view overlooks Petco Park and it's towards the end of the Gaslamp which you have a birds eye view of the whole place. I can't thank them enough for what they did for us to accomplish this photo shoot that was almost a year ago now but I've been there several times since then and will continue to come back.

Panamanian Princess

First time here....it's Beautiful

Tony Bullough

Refused entry by some ego trip doorman even though we had our UK driving licenses (used these fine through Vegas & Palm Springs!). We overheard he refused the girl in front of us even though she had a US government issued I.D.

Melaida Corpuz

We came here in January. During the day it's warm enough, but at night is a different story. Was a bit cold for what we were wearing (nightclub clothes). We stayed by the fire and were given blankets. The view was beautiful at night with the city lights though.

Lisa W

My favorite roof top bar, super mellow though, I wish they had a designated dance floor... so much cooler if they did. Big rooftop, plenty of seatings and good view of SD bay and even the stadium.

Kunal Chatkara

Awesome roof top bar. Nice views of the city. Good drinks.

I was in town visiting family and was told that this was the place to be at night. I did some research to see what the dress code would be and read that there was a strict dress code that they enforce or they will turn you away. I was pretty excited to actually dress up, but when I got to the hotel, and saw the line of people who were dressed casual, I mean very casual, like wearing flip flops, jean shorts, some were dressed as if they just just woke up and threw whatever on. Luckily we didn't have to wait in line! As soon as we reached the rooftop, we had our IDs checked, and was able to go through, I noticed how crowded it was. The line to get a drink was crazy, you couldn't even tell where the line started, people were just around the bar. I got a beer which was filled to the top and actually spilled over a couple of times as people were bumping into me due to how crowded it was trying to get away from the bar, I wasn't happy about that, I smelled like beer. Other than that, the views were nice, but not great, (you have to be close to the edge in order to get a good view), the music was pretty good, only stayed for about an hour, due to how crowded it was.

Tiffany

Apparently one of the best 25 bars in the world. I can only assume the author of that article hasn't been out much. It is a rooftop so there are some good views of the city but it does not face West so no sunset views - the reason we had gone there. Good view of stadium (ok) and a car park (less good). Cocktails are made very slap dash with low quality ingredients. RnB music and random, youngish crowd. Poor attention to detail by the staff - it's not clean. Does not feel special in the way I feel a rooftop bar should. Disappointing.

vanessa p

Nice place. Wish DJ Played better music. It was dead for a Friday night.

Erin Krajenke

Great views, great drinks at reasonable prices and a friendly wait staff...what more could you ask for?

Timothy Vincents Broughton

Nice atmosphere and a good view. The last star would be given if they put on an extra bartender. Upon arrival we were in a queue for a painful 15 minutes and the place wasn't even really busy. Rest of the evening there was no queue though.

BRIAN SUAREZ

Great experience

Ryan Stiehler

We went on a gloomy day, but the view into Petco was pretty cool. Solid music

george summers

What a great place to have a drink and take in the beautiful view of the bay.

John S

Great view and drinks !

Christie Coats

What makes this place is the panoramic views of both downtown San Diego and the Bay. While there isn't always seating available, you can usually find a spot to set your drink down and rest your arms while you are amazed at the view. If you are looking for a spot to take in the awesome sights of San Diego and want to grab a drink, make sure that you head up to Altitude. This is also a great place to take out of town guests to get that perfect picture atop the world. While you would think they have a dress code, they do not and don't feel intimidated by those who are dressed to impress, you can still go up and take in the views and grab a drink.

Raymond Ortiz

Nice views ,very nice staff cool place to stop, chat and have a drink. Drinks could be better good music ,good crowd, excellent security.

Mark Woodward

Too drunk! Seriously I just walked in and told to leave because my wife was to drunk. Everyone at the bar was more drunk than she was! But that’s ok you will never get my money.

Ameerah E

Enjoy the summer here at the top of the Marriott roof top bar #1 so beautiful up here!

Brian L

Best sunset view in the city! It's so nice and always a great time! The bartenders were on point with our drinks and the views were absolutely amazing.

Bree Wilson

Exciting roof top bar/night club, where you can see the beautiful city and ocean. Super trendy, dress nice lots of singles hanging out having a good time!

Armando Enriquez

The view is fantastic, but that doesn't make up for the poor drinks. I ordered an old fashioned and it was over bittered. Instead of a orange peel they put a orange wedge that looks old and for the price I paid for that drink I expect the drinks to be better. Service was great.

Lori Walker

They made our 25 the Anniversary the best time ever. Food was excellent, staff was wonderful and catered to our every need. The best part of the evening was when the piano man played a beautiful song called More by Frank Sinatra that brought tears to our eyes for our very special night. Thank You to everyone for making our evening awesome

Erik P

Been here before and love the views, crowd, and that they have a dj. The reason for the poor review is based on the company's poor communication skills. I sent them a msg on Yelp 4 days prior to the day I wanted to book table service and no response, called the following 2 days and left voice mails and no response. Called the day off and same thing, called the main hotel and demanded to speak to someone and finally got a hold someone after pretty much begging to bottle service. After talking to the host we went and he seemed to act as he didn't remember the conversation we had 2 hrs ago, anyways he was able to get is a good table and the server was great and did a great job with the service. The venue needs to hire someone else new that will be on top of the calls, emails etc for bottles and have better service at arrival. I've had my share of bottle service experiences and I put this one at number 1 for communication. I still recommend the place and will still be back but as for getting bottles again that will be questionable.

jorge garcia

It was dead. But would be great if a baseball game was going on. Lol

jesse newman

This place has a great views and excellent location, and great fast service from the bar. Absolutely loved it

Peter Petr

Awful Mojito... Try YouTube to learn how to do it

Mandy Junkin

Amazing view of the city! The drinks and service was fantastic! The atmosphere was very chill but there was also dancing there to If you wanted to dance. This place had a little bit of everything and was by far my favorite place in the gaslamp district that we went to! Altitude Sky Lounge has my vote for sure! You won't be disappointed here!

DO NOT PLAN AN EVENT HERE!!! I have done events at several different bars and this was the absolute WORST experience. I was very sad because the location itself was amazing but I will never go back and my guests all felt the same. I planned my birthday party here and it started a few weeks prior to my event when some bar manager Brandon quoted me $5000 LESS than what the rate really was for my party. AFTER i booked, I received an email from another manager Kenley saying "oops" and they couldn't accommodate me unless I paid $5000.00 more. After trying to work with me (which they didn't offer me anything other than booking something at the same rate any one else would get) we got there and the waitress allowed us to choose the VIP section we wanted. Until Kenley came and kicked us out of that section VERY RUDELY instead of telling us there was ANOTHER mistake. He was EXTREMELY rude to us the entire time from the moment we got there and the way he spoke to the waitresses made me feel awful for them! Then we had strangers sitting in our section, which we kept asking them to leave. Next thing you know we have 4 bouncers and that same manager yelling in my guests face and accusing us of bringing in a bottle of crown royal WHEN WE HAD AN OPEN $800 BAR TAB clearly paying for drinks and not one of us in the party was drinking crown royal!!! It was completely humiliating! One of my guests had to take the blame for it and leave just so my party didn't get kicked out. I will never step foot back there again. The staff needs to learn how to treat people and get rid of the power trip!!!!!

Francois Lamarre

Rude staff.

Rachel Nicholls

Awful queuing system. One bartender, long line. Unfortunately a few guests didn’t follow the queuing system and went straight to the bar, and got served. I stood in line for 10 minutes and the line didn’t move. Beautiful views. In your response, you indicated you were sorry for my bad experience and that I would give you another shot. This is a very common complaint about your establishment. Could you please let us know specifically will improve this experience to encourage myself and others to come. It's very sad, you are on top of a nice hotel, but most of the hotel guests wouldn't waste the time in your 'club'

Cory MacArthur

The cocktail servers are fantastic and the views are incredible. Definitely worth checking out if you're only in San Diego for a short time and want a nice cocktail. Great view of the Padres stadium and plenty of lounge areas.

Jeremy Umlauf

Great views amazing service. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Josh Lesko

Awesome views and amenities, including plenty of seating and a massive fire pit. The drinks are fairly standard, but this place is all about the atmosphere.

frank harris

I was not at Altitude for a long time but the short time that was there I had a lot of fun. Bar service was fast and drink were good.Awesome place to hangout. Super quiet and peaceful during the week, and becomes a party on the weekends! Both are quite nice! Great bartenders and drinks! Pricing is quite reasonable for what you're getting! Nice spot to take friends from outta town. Breathtaking view of the city.

Golden Age Sound

Really nice view, this is a great place to create memories in San Diego. I've started many an amazing night here.

Andrew Chea

Beautiful view at night to overlook the stadium.

Abigale Mandler

View is ok as far as rooftops go, but to be honest I would not come back just because the music is not good at all. Felt like I was at a high school dance

Erin Morrison

I agree with the last reviewer--we also went there because this bar is supposed to have a great view of the sunset but you couldn't actually see the sun set from the lounge. Also, the drinks are way overpriced. I still gave it 3 stars because the view is still really nice and I liked the fire pit.

Jose Amaral Jr

Definitely amazing views and great location to enjoy a drink and hangout. I was expecting it to be more entertaining with DJ, music etc which there was music and a DJ seamed to be getting set up for a way later time. I think it would be good to have music and the DJ since earlier in the night not just in the late hours. When we arrived was not very crowded roughly about 8 pm we found seating right against the edge facing the water front and the bar was fast and efficient. Would give it another try next time I'm in the area

Water Buffalo

Great for an after-work happy hour scene. I hear it’s great for baseball games also. The mojito’s are one of San Diego’s best. Also, The Vodka Martini’s are to die for.

Rob Johnson

Pretty School spot to visit during a baseball game. You can see into the park and get a feel for some of the action and energy. Be warned there is not a lot of shade up there. As intense as a sun can be, it would be nice if they had some umbrellas or awnings or some kind of places to get a little bit of relief from the Sun beating down on you relentlessly.

Ian Chase

Guy at the roof level was a douche bag! Bottom line. Have your serious face on because this guy doesn’t like people that are having fun clearly. Didn’t let us in because he heard a buzzer noise from the elevator. So, this guy cost his employer $100 an hour pretty much. Just saying...I walked back to Nolan. Great bar by the way and no dbags.

Scott Leavitt

Clean area. Beautiful view of the surrounding area. Drinks are pretty pricey compared to surrounding areas. I guess it's not like it use to be. Great music from the DJ. At least I can vape here since it's open.

Alejandra

Went last night, first stop of the night. Bartender chick was rude, seemed like she hated her job. Bought 3 shots plus $2 tip, totaled $35. Looked at my bank account this morning, Altitude $103.50 charge!

M. Coop

Would give it more stars because the view was great. HOWEVER, between the security guy and the bartender on duty, my experience was ruined. I was basically profiled the minute I walked in. The security guard was super serious, was not even trying to engage with us. I have never had my ID looked over for (not exaggerating) 5 mins, the security guard was staring at me then back at my ID multiple times, bending my ID card, etc...and I've been to many bars/clubs, it was never this serious. Then to have my ID requested (and examined for like 3 mins!) again at the bar when I'm at a location that I'm not even allowed into UNLESS I'm at least 21! My friends and I went back to The Nolan...

Janis Lynn Hedin

Had a great time here. Great views and drinks. Heaters and fire pit if you get cold.

Leslie Rivers

I love visiting here. I'll return friends next time. It has a nice atmosphere.

Jade Dadiz

I love altitude and recomend it to everyone. Cant beat the views and vibes. Robert in security is the best. Professional and competent. Really made the experience awesome.

Justin Witron

Great atmosphere. Chill place to have a good time. You may just catch the Padres game if you're lucky

Kev H

Ok really nice views

Blake Barnett

Amazing view of San Diego and Petco park.

Greg Z

Went to the rooftop with three friends. I'm Bonvoy Gold. Our friend from England was denied access to the rooftop because the bouncer could not understand her British accent, denied her entry accusing her of bring intoxicated, she was not. He was insulting and rude to us. Don't go unless you want to be insulted and embarrassed. Bottom line was they didn't want us there.

Abdul Rahman Muwahid

Nice view nice atmosphere

dhuha yassen

Beautiful view good drinks

Katie Tillman

Great view and a nice atmosphere. I'm sure it was mostly fellow tourists, but I didn't mind. There was a great view of San Diego on both sides.

Thomas Allen

Great view over Petco Park and San Diego, fun atmosphere, closed early on a Monday night when visiting but definitely will be back!

Raymond Holman

Lame. They forgot how to customer service after the first floor.

Brian Surtz

Great view. Below average bar.

jocelynn cre9

Nice place a lot of people on Friday and Saturday good view of the field

Haley Williamson

Really nice views especially of the baseball field. Nice atmosphere but a bit chilly when the sun goes down so dress appropriately and snuggle up by the fire

Cherie Gue

22nd floor small rooftop. No cover when we went. No one was dancing, not even sure there was a dancefloor. It was super packed on a Saturday night. DJ wasn't bad though, view is nice. EXPENSIVE drinks! We spent $62 on 6 drinks (a few bottom-shelf mixed drinks & few beers) after that we left, overpriced.

Leonardo Bellini

This is a pretty chill and fun spot! They have a lot of nice lounge areas where you can relax with friends and enjoy beautiful views of the city!

Elexis Rupp

Such a nice place to get a drink. Obviously the main reason people come here is for the view. Just don't forget that there are a couple of locations to get your drinks at, so waiting in the first line you see isn't necessary. Also, it's a good idea to get your pictures at the start if you want any. Once you move away from the ledge someone else will take your spot quickly.
