It's the first place I had ever gone to when I turned 21. The people the atmosphere was unlike anything I had ever experienced and I must say I'm 50 now and it still hasn't changed. Also it's a great first date night and even if it's not your first date great place don't ever change.

This is my HAPPY place! The musicians Jam Bam, Junior Cota , Kenny Brown and Tony Mockridge makes me look forward to Monday night's! They're the best at what they do! Mike Johnson the Bartender is quick and knows his drinks . And always service with a smile! The regulars along with the musicians are one big family!! Thank you Char's for always making me feel like part of the family!

Music was great but the bartender was kinda rude and there is NO parking. Drinks were average price for a Saturday night and $7 cover. PACKED! Great place for blues and this rating would have been higher had the male bartender been polite.

I am a phoenix native of 44 years I have traveled the entire world via the United States Marine Corps so I have seen my fare share of night clubs , bars etc. I wish I new of this fine establishment back in the day i wouldnt have wasted my time nor money anywhere else. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary last night Friday the 8th and had an amazing time. this place is like stepping back in time about 30 years ago when the music was pure the staff actually cared and the company was amazing. I will be back probably once a week and anytime I have great company in town. char keep up the great work and a big Semper Fi to you and your staff and from the bottom of my heart thank you. ps if there where 10 stars you would get it.

One of the best places in chandler to go get personal with any band that plays!!! Had a great time on Thursday at the open mic night (blues jam) service was outstanding and the bartenders superb promp service helped get what you want when you whant it !!!! Can see some really good bands like Harry luge a local ledgend out of mesa ... Highly recomend for a firs date I guarantee you won't be disappointed at JOLIE'S PLACE IN CHANDLER AZ. I have been here twice and my first time here was OK.. but last night took the cake. There was one waitress working and she came to check on us about every half hour or so. About 45 minutes went by and when I spotter her at the bar I went over to let her know we were ready for another round of drinks and tapped her on the shoulder. (mind you the band is playing and its extra loud) The waitress turned and began screaming and cursing at me. I looked at the bartender like is this how your waitress talk to your customers? The bartender leaned over and he began cursing at me. By far the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL thing I have EVER experienced.

Looking for Live music with that exclusive hole in the wall feel than this Is yymour place!!! It's a very small venue so showing up early is highly recommend to get good parking and a good seat. Only downfall is the pathetic sized Male bathrooms!

We gave this place a second chance. I was very happy to see that prices on well drinks were very reasonable, not like during our first visit. Music was still a bit but the DJ did a good job with mixing and feeling the vibe of the crowd.happy to say that overall all my friends and I had a good time and will go back again.

Music Fantastic, Soul Power Band was outstanding. Place is way too small and gets very congested and no room to breath, always bumping into someone, Tables and Chairs are way too close to each other. Expensive watered down drinks. Cocktail servers not to pleasant, always expecting tip. What's up with the tables having little signs meant for 3 or more people?? It's a joke to have signs on table when clearly there is always a jam packed crowd. A world of advice for the owner......get a bigger place to accommodate the crowd

Visiting from Killeen, TX: Sister took me to Char's on Thursday, where Ladee Jai & No Drama was playing. Omg, I danced the night away. Even played & sang Bruno Mars & Justin Timberlake songs as well as old school. Needed in my neck of the woods. Just say Killeen/Ft Hood!

Love this place!!!! Coming from Detroit I make sure every time I visit Phx I go to Char's. The drinks are not as strong as they could be and the speaker system could be upgraded but this place makes me feel right at home. I have been going to Char's since 2010 and have even watched a couple of my family members play a few sets in there. I love this hole in the wall, the music is great the people are friendly and race doesn't matter.

A real down home type of place. Bartender and servers are really great. The place is an old house and can be a bit small when a large crowd is there. My party (3 people) went in a Monday night and the place was packed. Great band that night. Small dance floor, but it's what really makes this place. Oh and they do have a smoking area that is actually inside which is really nice. Your not thrown outside to the elements.

When you can see through a Long Island iced tea...its not good. Had to get on the bartender for watering down our drinks. Once we said something it got better. Shouldn't of had to say anything...its a bar! Band is good though.

Jam Bam open Mic session tonight was off the chain! First of all who the heck is Pistol Pete????? Blew the entire club away,Jamarl baker, Slim Junior Cota and Jam Bam cut the fool after pistol Pete leaving the club in a party/concert atmosphere till the lights came on. How the heck do I go home and wind down after this??? Every time I think I had my best night at Char's it just keep getting better!!!! What a night.....

I LOVED this place. It was our first time in Phoenix ( which itself is amazing), and while there, I wanted to experience a place where I could enjoy nice drinks, good music, etc. Char's was that place. Sad enough as a transplant from DC to LA, not since I left DC had I seen somewhere that captured true Afro-American live music and just a comfortable environment overall. This place made me homesick, and each time that I visit Phoenix going forward I will visit Char's

I went here for the first time last month with my fiance and friend. The seating is usually packed as my friend had advised me, but we only waited about 20 minutes to get seats. The lady who was singing, along with the band was phenomenal!!! Also the waitress were so friendly, and attentive to everyone. I loved dancing and having a wonderful time with such great people. I will be going back very soon!

The place is fun. The only thing I didnt like was that it was so packed in there that it was hard to move around. Your literally packed like sardines. Anyway the Jazz is great and its a fun place to hang out. You will find an older crown there that are about 40-60. I would not go again but I would recommend it for someone who likes Jazz, wants to dance and is in their 50's
