The Washakie Museum is a radical, quality museum, and it’s just fun to say the name!! Kids and adults will be well entertained equally. Science tips are easy to delve into here with some of the world’s best dino finds due to good old Wyo’s bony, arid Bighorn Basin. Many teams have come here because of the great pre-Pleistocene layers that are on the surface and easy to find. Relatedly, this is why Wyoming produces massive amounts of surface mined coal.

This place has two great permanent exhibits, one on the geologic history of the basin, and one on the pioneers. In addition, it seems there's always something else going on. An excellent find!

Very nice facility, which I should visit more often. I see changing events advertised all the time but being busy do not take the time to go. It is worth your time to stop and see. About a year ago there was a display about our local sugar factory and sugar growing industry. It was fantastic!
