This museum is free and accepts donations. It's larger than it looks on the outside. There are many facts about medical history, native Americans and living in earlier days. If in the area be sure to check it out!

This is a great little FREE museum. There are lots of interesting exhibits and tons of fun hands on stuff for the kids to do! This is definitely a must stop place for those visiting the area. Everything from mining history to the native Americans in the area to a really cool old fire engine. We were totally impressed.

The young lady did such a fine job of sharing the museum to me yesterday, March 26th - yesterday. I read a bit about Big Nose this morning. She did so well on him and other displays. Earless Big Nose? That was not pointed out. So many rumors about him. Infamous fellow, certainly. I hope the community does not have some kind of 'Big Nose Days' to commemorate the thief. Great little museum. My pastors son has a rock exhibit there. Great place to learn about Carbon County. They even have outdoor exhibits and a place to have a picnic lunch outside.

You must stop. It is free. So much history and many facets of life in Rawlins. Also go downtown to Depot Park. Nice picnic area, playground for the kids and watch the trains.

Such a cute little museum! I looove it! Its so cuuuute! But the history is nothing to be taken lightly. I was surprised! The staff is very nice and the lady...Lauren? I think that was her name. She was very nice and was always making sure if we had questions or not. I enjoyed looking at the old sheep wagon. They even have one outside that you can go inside of! Some of these sheep wagons have better storage than RVs now! Great place!

Such a cool little place! The staff were almost too friendly for their own good, it was hard to make myself leave. If I hadn't been on a schedule I would have browsed happily for hours through their little patch of history.

This museum is packed with history! Very clean and well organized along with some amazing artifacts. The stories and history that shaped Carbon County and Rawlins is displayed in a inviting manner. Make sure you go to the garage and see the really long fire truck. Don't forget about Big Nose George!
