Here you will be able to see all the reviews of real people like you who purchase the services of Buffalo Bill Center of the West (Museum) in the area close to Wyoming.
At this moment this firm has a rating of 4.8 stars over 5 and the rating has been calculated on 1896 reviews.
As you can read, it reaches an opinions average is almost the highest, and it's based on a high number of scores, so we may conclude that the score is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to give feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Museum is classified in the category of Museum.
Not for you children. Some interesting areas in the center. Lots of history. You can do it in half day.
You need more than a few hours to enjoy looking at everything here. The entry ticket is good for 2 days so if you have time to go back you can.
Excellent layout and largest display of weapons I have seen. All areas were very informative.
Awesome museum. Especially natural history section. Spent about three or four hours there but could have spent more
Great statutes of wildlife and Native Americans. The raptor show (in the Sculpture Garden) was very informative and the birds were outstanding with the volunteers. Eat somewhere other than the cafeteria. The food was very mediocre but do have portable beverages and snacks for sale. Unfortunately, the firearms section is closed until June, 2019, missed it by a couple of days. The gift shop is hugh and worth a look. There is a small playpark for children. The Plains Indian Museum is worth a visit. Overall I liked the experience.
Very interesting place to visit if you are in Cody. They only sell 2 day passes, but we were done after 4 hours. There are 5 museums contained in one complex. The firearms museum was my favorite. If you have a deep interest, you could easily spend all day looking at what they have available. The western art museum was interesting, but not especially large. The wild Bill Cody museum had a lot off history and artifacts from his life. The plains Indian museum and natural history museum are pretty self-explanatory. I wouldn't mind going back to spend a couple of hours in the natural history museum. We barely touched that one.
Very cool museum the gun collection was very interesting and well set up. We also liked the natural museum and the buffalo bill history sections. Highly recommend checking it out!
This museum has 5 other museums in it, including but not limited to: the gun museum, buffalo bill museum, an indian museum and many more. Great service and staff, although it takes a day to go through all 5 museums, it is 100 percent worth it.
This museum is well organized with different zones coming off a central hub. Particularly liked the natural history, buffalo Bill (which includes some clips on the rodeo) and the plains Indian - really lovely to see the bead work and crafts. A great place to visit.
Great museum. Had planned for 2 hrs visit but spent 4hrs. Guided tour was excellent and all displays were excellently done
It was so great! So much to see! Our fav was the arms museum. Great place to visit!
This is one of the best museums we have visited. Very nice displays, informative material, fun shooting simulator, amazing collections. New gun wing was just opening, phenomenal! Cafe has a nice selection of food along with coffee & sweets. Admission fee allows 2 day entry. You'll need it! You will not be disappointed!
You can spend all day in here. It is clean and well kept. The helpers knew lots of facts.
There are very few museums outside the Smithsonian that could beat these 5 museums. Something for everyone and a fair and balanced presentation in all areas.
Lots of history. Very well done
Great place to explore, could spend more then a day trying to see it all and still not see it all.
Well run museum,, You could easily spend a whole day if each section interests you. I used the pistol simulation,, The wife enjoyed the art exhibit, We both liked the portion dedicated to Cody himself..
You'll need two days. Five museums including the Buffalo Bill Museum with its essential wall-sized photo of his Congress of Rough Riders of the World. Show your children. Buffalo Bill had cowboys, American Indians, military, U.S. and foreign groups working together to create an unforgettable show. All museums are extremely interesting. But, if you love art, don't miss the Art Museum (with my favorites Moran and Bierstadt, and Remington and Russell).
Amazing, just no other words!! Huge, need at least 2 days to really enjoy the museum!!
Outstanding museum. I only had one day so I had to move fast to see it all. You should plan on a couple of days to see it in detail. I especially liked to art and the firearm collections. Don't miss seeing this place...
Excellent place to visit only wish I had more time to explore.
Alot of stuff to see but I'd skip the art gallery but that's just me. I personally don't think most of the paintings are that great but that's just me.
Fabulous array of museums all located in a beautiful structure, friendly for children as well as those of all ages with disabilities. The Buffalo Bill Center of the West is an affiliate of the Smithsonian...and deservedly so.
Very clean and respectful. They had kuerig coffee maker.
A terrific exhibition showing how the west was a hundred years ago. A great tribute to Buffalo Bill.
This was an interesting museum. It is large and has several different areas of interest. The pass we purchased was good for 2 days.
Totally worth the time...while family had a great time!
Very poorly run. Not equipped to handle a crowd. Cafeteria less than acceptable.
Highly recommend Buffalo Bill Museum. Reasonable priced at $16.75 each senior rate, plus another $2 veteran discount. Ticket is good for two consecutive days. We did 2 6 hour days, so we didn’t have cultural overload! It is divided into 5 different sections. We did the Buffalo Bill Museum, Cody Firearms Museum, and the Plains Indian Museum, then did a quick trip through the Natural History Museum.
Overwhelming with so much to see. Plan for 2 days as the tickets are good for 2 days. Amazing art and history.
One of, if not the best museum I have been to. The firearms display is being rebuilt. It should be fantastic. It was terrific before.
Amazing! Highly recommended! The Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming, USA is a great museum!
A world-class museum! You could spend all day (maybe two) going through this place and it has something for everyone. We enjoy the special events they put on throughout the year.
Outstanding collection. Must return soon. Spend two days and see it all. Gift shop is uninspired.
When I heard the firearms museum underwent a huge remodel and reopened on July 6, 2019 I knew I had to see it. I drove 14 hours one way just to spend two days here and won't get it all covered. 7000 firearms, interactive displays and free presentations throughout the day make this a destination all by itself. I expected a lot out of this trip and it is better than I hoped.
The history is great, some good art work. My only problem is with the Indian statues in that pavilion. Didn't know there were blond Indians!!
Loved the gun museum section. You can spend 4+ hours to see everything.
When the coolest museums I've ever been to!
It is an amazing museum. Actually, five museums for one price for two days. You are going to need that second day to completely discover everything.
Well worth the money. I’m frugal & always look for coupons, didn’t find any but it didn’t matter. If you get through it in less than 2 days, you missed something. Get your hand stamped & go out for lunch also. There is an interactive site that has the layout of the building, some displays have a three digit code, enter it & get a lot more info & pics of the article. We’ve been here two months, just went the other day, way better, we were familiar with quite a few of the things they showed & talked about.
TWO DAYS. That's what you'll need to truly experience this museum. No wonder they are always rated so high and win some many awards. Their exhibits are detailed, thought provoking, informational, beautiful, and neutral. I especially enjoyed the firearms and natural history museums. The newly renovated firearms section has simulators, interactive gun-models, and firearms safety, as well as a history of guns and guns in society today. The natural history museum's museum layout is very interesting because it is a spiral that starts high and ends low. Each section in the spiral corresponds to an elevation in Yellowstone, so as you walk down the spiral you get to learn about the different elevations and what goes on in them. If you go to this museum, which you should, remember to allocate two days because you will need it.
Very interesting. Displays were excellent. Staff was available & helpful. Highly recommend.
A very impressive museum. One day is not enough.
A great place to visit if you are into native American culture,Buffalo Bill Cody or guns I could only spend a couple of hours there but would have liked to spend the day
We really loved staying here. They decorate it up on the inside. They were very nice at the front desk. Met our needs. Very courteous in helpful information. Very friendly & inexpensive. We will stay here again in the future.
This is a very good museum. One of the best we visited on our trip to Yellowstone.
A really interesting place with 5 different museums. The natural history museum is particularly interesting. Would highly recommend visiting - worth every penny of the entrance fee.
Several museums in one place. Affiliated with the Smithsonian museums, hence the very high quality. We went two days about 4 hours each day. Perfect. Could have spent more time or another day too. Friendly people. Nice raptor show.
Cool museum, worth spending a day with so much to see. lots to see and do for kids as well as adults.
A very well organized museum of national history. We debated stopping when passing through and I am so glad we did. The historical artifacts here are beautifully displayed- I learned a lot.
WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL and AWESOME. It takes more than one visit to see all that the center has to offer.
If you are a museum junky, this is the place to go! So much to see, natural history, raptor demo, art, plains indians, Buffalo Bill Cody's life. You purchase a 2 day ticket. It takes all of 2 days. I could have done more days there
Lots to see and learn, very informative, definitely need all day to see. Priced right and admission gives you 2 days entry.
Playful place. Cool statues in the small park around the facilities.
Always worth visiting again, so much to see
So much to see! Worth every penny! Must go see, something for everyone!
This place is bigger than it seems!! Natural history was our favorite, covering species from different part of Yellowstone. Also contains a Buffalo Bill museum, Native American history museum, Western Art museum, and a gun museum. Highly recommended to spend a whole day if this attraction interests you!
Outstanding museum! Could spend much more time there. Many premier exhibits. If you like natural history. Or wild west. Check this place out.
Great art show. I could sit and look all day.
A definite place to visit while out in Yellowstone. Gun museum is out of this world. Other areas of museum so interesting. Bring kids too, there are lots of things to learn for young and old.
So worth the entire day we spent here. Our hotel was close enough that we were able to walk there. Modest crowds. Helpful people working there.
An amazing museum with a great exhibit of the local animals, from small to large. In addition they have everything about Buffalo Bill. There's a collection with around 7000 firearms.
So much to see, greatest collection of guns in one place.
I don’t hand out 5 stars and often go against the crowd in my reviews. This place deserves nothing but the best in its reviews. Plenty of free parking, beautiful inside and out. The gift shop was nicer than I wanted it to be (my kids liked it too much). The gun history section is unmatched as far as I know and all the other areas are amazing as well. You can easily spend all day here but its not overly large. We spent 2 hours here (small children in tow) and didn’t quite see everything. If you are in Cody...spend some time here.
It's the best museum I've been to. It has great displays and a huge gun collection!
The best group of western museums I have ever visited. Logical layout and presentation is wonderful.
There is a lot to see here. History of firearms, Plains Indians and Buffalo Bill himself very informative. Also have food and beverages.
We came for the Bierstadts and Russells in the Whitney Art Museum portion of this giant five-part museum. We loved the close-up experience with the raptors -- a peregrine falcon, hawk, owl, and eagle. But we were overwhelmed by the history and the detail of the Buffalo Bill exhibits. What he accomplished in 1894 in live-action entertainment was astounding. Spend the day.
Muesam was huge. Full of alot of a interesting presentation. The firearm portion was great.
Your admission lets you see multiple connected museums about natural history, firearms, Buffalo Bill, Western art, and Plains Indians. There are a lot of interactive displays and things for children to do. Definitely a good thing to do if you're in Cody.
Very cool place, affordable, staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. You really need a couple of days for this place. You'll learn a lot.
Absolutely amazing place. Tons of history, kept my kids interested for hours. One afternoon was not nearly enough time to take it all in. If you like hunting/shooting/history the firearms museum is incredible and recently renovated. Lots a ways to teach your kids positive things about weapons. I also found their history exhibits to be fair minded and informative without pushing a particular political or social agenda. Nice to see history told with a fair mind toward both sides. We will be back for sure!
This place is really awesome be prepared for an experience! It takes a little bit to go through their gift shop, but totally worth it that's when we went they had great sales going on!! So many amazing things to see and it's almost more than a day or 2 if you're in town be prepared to go back!! I can't remember if it was $35 or $45 a person to go through.
This is a fabulous museum. If you address ever in the area it is amust see. Great for all ages
Be sure to have several hours (or more) set aside to tour this wonderful and educational center. It is art and history and fun and learning all rolled into one. A favorite place. I would definitely go back!
This place deserves 25 stars. Unbelievable. You gotta see it.
Lots of excellent exhibits and tons of info. Entrance fee includes the second day. 5 different museums. Loved the raptor show.
5 different museums under one roof with fabulous displays and excellent information.
This museum is awesome, it’s basically five museums for the price of one. The gun museum was great, our kids especially enjoyed shooting all the simulator guns, some were free simulators, some you had to pay four dollars for it. The wildlife displays were neatly set up, and very informative. We got to go into the lab and talk to one of the scientists that were working in there, it was very interesting. Make sure you go outside and look at the golden eagle, close to the playground. We enjoyed all five areas of the museum. A good value, you could spend the entire day here easily, we were there for about six hours.
I think others reviewers have covered so much of the great features of the center. We particularly loved the natural history museum w the creative and modern displays and the art museum. I'm not that knowledable about art and artists, but to see an original Thomas Moran painting was very exciting to me! The raptor presentation was great, educational and entertaining. I did not expect to stay as long as we did. I would definitely visit if you are going through Cody!
The largest collection of guns over the last 200 years plus other cool stuff.
So much to see. Wonderful combination of collections.
Fantastic exhibits! I remember going as a kid to the Buffalo Bill and firearms exhibits; what a tremendous expansion that has taken place with the Western Art, Plains Indian, and Natural History wings! Plan on spending both days of your admission to soak it ALL in.
Been there in the winter, it was nearly empty, only saw a handful other visitors. Knew this museum because of Miss Ashley Hlebinsky’s videos about guns on YouTube. The exhibition is fantastic, the gun museum was closed under renovation at that time, it will be open in July, will visit again in this summer! Hopefully it won’t be too packed in the grand opening of the gun museum after renovation! But certainly it will. A great museum, I love the section of nature and animals too, a lot of things to learn from the great exhibition at Buffalo Bill Center of the West! It’s like the American Natural History Museum in the mid west!
A must-see on any visit to Cody!!! Plan on a whole day to see everything. Beautiful, interesting, and educational place!!!
Nice spin on the nature theme that anyone from woodsman to vegetarian can enjoy. Great firearm history and display.
Incredible place. Anyone going through Cody Wyoming must stop and see the museum. It is huge and can take more than a day to see everything.
Such a vast and beautiful museum! Make sure you get there early, and that you plan to spend most of your day there! It's so worth it!!
Beautiful well put together museum. Definitely go see. Employees are nice and knowledgeable. Another must!!
Had some really awesome stuff from history worth the trip. It cost 20 per person but the pass last for 2 days. The gift shop had local art and other things from local people which was nice. Worth going if you like history or like the western and native American culture.
History at its finest! Great gun museum. I strongly recommend it for all ages.
An excellent place to learn about the west, firearms, art, animals, and more. Highly recommend stopping here if you visit Cody.
We love visiting be Buffalo Bill Historical Center. They're always changing something or adding exhibits. It is a fun family outing that is also educational. Are kids really loved the Draper part of the museum.
Outstanding exhibits. Well organized. Be sure to join the free walking tour and see the live rescued birds. The Golden Eagle, the Bald Eagle and the Turkey Volture.
A center full of museums celebrating all the fantastic aspects of the American West.
Great Museum! As good if not better than the Smithsonian's. It's up to date with design, technology, and exhibits. It explains the west extremely well covering western art, the life of Buffalo Bill, native Americans and their history, firearms, natural history, and more. I grew up here and have seen over the years how much they have upgraded this museum to get it to such a high standard. I have been to museums in Chicago, New York, and Washington DC and it definitely rivals them. You will not find a better museum on western history!
The firearms and natural history portion is outstanding. If you’re at all into firearms, expect to spend at least an hour in that area. Also, they do have military discounts for active, veterans and retirees. It’s not listed, so be sure to ask.
Amazing museums; and wonderful gift shop.
Need to take 2 days to see everything. So much interesting information. Great movies to watch.
A must see for anyone visiting Cody, WY. There sections devoted to Wm. F. Cody, Plains Indians life & gun history with a huge collection on display. I recommend visiting over 2 days to get the most from this Smithsonian affiliated museum. Highly recommended.
Great displays. Had time only for the firearms section. Extensive collection... From the earliest to modern. Really liked the Civil War collection.
I haven't go out of the way to find where this is and go see what they have to offer it was amazing
Amazing place with lots to see. The Western art is extensive. Take the two days allowed by your entry fee to fully appreciate everything at this museum.
Lots of interesting and amazing things to learn and see. With trail rides
A "must see" for anyone's western tour...abundant historical information about the area and Bill Cody himself....never realized the impact he had on this region. I will plan a return visit as there was not enough time to take in everything...
Fantastic museum and place to learn! Our 6yo loved it and so did we! Everything is very well presented and they have plenty for the younger audience...there’s even a great playground outside of the weather allows! We didn’t eat there but it looked yummy. We really enjoyed our visit.
Very large. Lots of artifacts. Lots of information. Very friendly staff. Over the top firearms museum! Great natural history museum, Buffalo Bill museum and the Plains Indian museum. Western art is displayed throughout center but there is a museum of art. Two day would be right amount of time to see the whole center and visit some more of the town sites.
Lots of fun!! The firearm museum is a must. Do you love the smell of gun grease?
Everything you care to see.. animals, art, awesome guns. Plan on 2 days to see it all.
Awesome museum!!!! Two day pass with admission. Can not see all that you want in two hours!
Loved it and there is way more to it than you would think!
Cost is to much for what you get even if the gun area is open $40 for 2 people....... i rather go out to eat 2 times then go here. If you want a good free attraction go to buffalo bill damn. Its free and offers shuttle rides from parking or you can walk the 1000 ft
Best western museum l have been in and snother day tomorrow.
Huge! The animal dioramas were great
Great museum. Great people that work there. Will go back
Excellent museum all about Buffalo Bill Cody. Loved the displays and the short videos. It is one of 5 museums at the same location. You can visit all five for one price.
This place was great me and my other fellow scouts had a blast on our summit camp trip. The gun collection was so amazing and so was the wilderness part of it
Great place to visit to learn! The newly updated firearm portion was amazing with extremely well done displays and exhibits. The natural history museum was diverse describing the local area. How much time to spend: if you're simply walking through about 90 minutes, but if you like to read about the exhibits you could probably spend up to 5 hours touring all 5 sections of the Center of the West.
So amazing plan on spending the day there you won't be disappointed. Worth the price , every penny. The Indian museum will give you a lump in your throat that is hard to get rid of. Just wonderful ❤️
Cannot even begin to describe how amazing this place is! The gun library is spectacular. The native American museum is beautifully done. The raptor experience was educational and interactive in all the right ways. We want to go back especially when our kids are old enough to enjoy it! Plan to spend more than 1 day here so you dont have to rush through it all.
Absolutely Fantastic! Might take more than one day.
This place was huge! It was 5 museums inside one building. It was a neat place, you could spend all day there.
amazing, could have spent 2 full days in this huge museum.
Lots and lots to look at, plan on spending the better part of a day if you want to see it all. Entry fee is a little high but I think worth it
History, history and more history! You need at least a day to get an idea of what is here. The gun collection is being belief and one could spend a day here and never see everything! The Western art gallery is very historical and extensive. Don't pass up on the outside garden. The Unknown sculptures are spectacular. A children's playground outside affords an opportunity for the kids to expend some energy. A must see Native American Collection.
Great place. Worth the money for the history. The gun collection and Indian history was amazing. A most see place in Cody and Wyoming for sure.
One of the best museums I have ever been to outside of a major city. Five museums in one- a must if you love: guns, art, history, the natural world, artifacts, games, gifts, raptors, taxidermy, etc.!
Well worth a visit if in cody wy. Tickets last 2 days because there is so much to see.
What an amazing place, everyone was very helpful and very cordial. Excellent place for our event. 1st annual Freedom Gala for the Northwest Battle Buddies.
Amazing museum! We definitely needed to plan to spend more time there! My four children. From 15 years down to 6, all enjoyed the museum. The displays were inviting and engaging throughout. My husband is a military and history buff and could have spent the entire day in the firearms area.
A gem of a museum with kind staff, great exhibits, and kid-friendly activities. We enjoyed the "Relaxing with Raptors" experience and the scavenger hunt in the Draper Natural History Museum. The price of admission covers 2 days, so if you are hanging out in Cody for a bit, you can take your time to enjoy the center. It's worth the price.
This is the BEST western museum I have ever seen! We flew through all of the sections of the museums and it still took us 4.5 hours. Give yourself 2 days to enjoy all that it has to offer.
So much to see! 5 different museums full of history and exhibits. It's always changing so year after year there is something new to see. The gun museum was completely redone. All ages can enjoy this place. A nice cool place to spend the afternoon on a hit summer day.
Great place to visit lots of history and very nice displays plan on spending the day there would recommend stopping by
This.museum.is so worthy! It has over 10,000 guns and information that is interesting. We on ly had 2 hours to look around as we were headed to Yellowstone too. This museum.is worth visiting. They have a nice clean lunch arra that opens at 11 and also a coffee/beverages and snack bar before that is available.
We only made it through the Draper Natural History and the Buffalo Bill Museums at this splendid complex but will be going back tomorrow to see the rest. I've been in plenty of Natural History Museums and this one is outstanding, focusing on the Wyoming/Yellowstone National Park area. The history of Buffalo Bill is simply fascinating. I very highly recommend this complex and it's great that your admission ticket is good for 2 days because you definitely need more than a day to fully appreciate it.
Amazing is all I can really say. Check out the firearms.
Lots to see. Make sure you have lots of time. We didn't see everything in the time we had there. Will have to go back sometime.
Loved all 5 museums. Spent about 4 to 5 hours there. Would love to go back.
Just amazing. The entire complex will take you a full 8 hour day to get through. Incredible museums. Worth the time - and make sure to visit the cafe while the piano is being played!!!
This place must be seen in everyone's lifetime. Absolutely Unbelievable.
Wonderful museum. Fun activities for the kids. Highly recommend the beans and coffee out front they are cooked over an open fire.
It looks small on the outside, but it's way bigger than it seems. There are five different museums inside, and the entry fee is for all five museums. There's a little bit of everything here, from the worlds largest collection of firearms to the Native peoples of the midwest. For anyone in the area this is definitely worth the stop
WOW! What a mMuseum! They have so many exhibits at this museum it is well worth the trip and you cannot take it all in in two days. Best museum I’ve ever been to.
Worth the price of admission! The museums were all very cool, the Natural History museum was our favorite though!
First class facility, spend two days especially if taking in a trail ride or raptor experience.
We came for the Pow Wow and had a really enjoyable experience. The dancing, the vendors and the food... especially the tacos! WOW! This is held in a special "park" and is a very comfortable and beautiful setting. Even though there was quite a bit of rain we still really enjoyed our time here.
Wonderful museum. We are so fortunate to have it so close by.
Wonderful way to learn about history of this great man. He was exceptional!!!!
Great exhibits and such a great amount of history presented in a wonderful format.
To adequately see all there is to see, I would plan at least one full day. Wonderful place. An added bonus was the rapter exhibit!
Great museum for all ages. There is cafeteria style restaurant as well as coffee stand. One of the best firearms sections.
So this is 5 museums in one. If you like museums this is a must do. If you like firearms this place is awesome! It has the old Winchester collection, which if you don't know it is massive. When I went only a third of the collection was out and it took the better part of a day to go through it.
This museum is immense. Your admission ticket purchase is good for two days and with the vast array of items you will want to spend both days! We spent nearly all our time in the firearms museum and didn't even see everything. we will definitely be returning for a future visit.
It's like five museums in one. Amazing place. GREAT ART!!!
My husband and I spent 3 days in Cody recently. Wow, this museum is fabulous. So glad we spent a day here. Loads of phenomenal artifacts. Our 3 days in Cody were so memorable. Love from Texas
There is so much to like about this museum - the cost (admission - which is good for 2 days), content, programs/hands on design for all ages, layout, and the thoughtfulness of the topics covered with the museum. It is an experience not to be missed, but allow enough time really explore the museum. It is a gem!
The exhibits were nice in this very beautiful museum. I am disabled and there was plenty of room for my walker. We felt the admission price was a bit high for what we got.
