REVIEWS OF Old World Wisconsin IN Wisconsin

Trish Scribner

Been there a couple of times. Still love to visit our ancestral way of life. It's awesome everytime!

Holly Brown

OWW is a great living history museum. Walk the the trails or hop a tram to take in the park. There are homes from all parts of Wisconsin. Volunteers dress in period costumes and tell the stories of the early immigrants.

Dave Oliphant

Great place. Friendly staff.

Frank

Good idea to purchase a membership. Pays for itself.

This place is so cool. We will definitely be going back. When you go, and you must, there is enough to see and do for the entire day. If you like exploring living history you will LOVE this place. They have recreated a whole 1800 s village and a bunch of farms. People are actually running the farm with animals as they would have for the time. They even have a working blacksmith. Check the place out as they have lots of projects going on for people to learn and do. Tons of fun!

K Lu

What a gorgeous wedding venue! Attended as a photographer recently and all of the staff seemed incredibly helpful and friendly. The location is gorgeous with a beautiful circular barn for the reception and numerous incredible sites for photos around the grounds.

Jeff Peeler

Disappointed that the site had limited access to buildings. During the week only the barn was open for review. No activities going on. Sad day. Would not suggest visit until updates can be made . Monies are needed.

Rob Beane

We have always loved this place! Truly a tradition in our family.

Paula Aschenbrenner

We try to visit every year. We love the living history and the wonderful women and men who dress in 1870 attire. Always friendly and knowledgeable staff. We really appreciate it and thoroughly enjoy every visit. If it was a bit less expensive we'd probably visit twice a year.

kristen chitwood

We had a great time. My teenage children also enjoyed the day, especially the interactive areas.

David Linderman

Great way to spend the day, need more drink stands

Julia Hoak

Really enjoyed our day here with 4 kids. We wished there were more demostratioms going on though. The only one was the blacksmith shop. The Village section was really interesting. The German area great. We felt like the Scandinavian area was not kept up well. The school house was really good too.

Piano Princess

One of my favorite museums ever!! I've gone here since I was a small child and I've always loved it! :)

Gordon Liebl

This is one of our favorite places to go in the spring/summer seasons. It's a great living museum with enough activities to not have to repeat anything.

Emily Wirt

First of all I love OWW it's on some beautiful property, it's well maintained, and finally the volunteers AND staff are ALWAYS wonderful/knowledgeable. However, this was my first time visiting this summer and of course we went during a week day when none of the houses were open... We know this didn't use to be the case. We wouldn't have minded if only a few buildings were open with volunteers or we wouldn't have even minded paying more than $10 to go inside a few houses at our own will to talk with volunteers without needing to be apart of the tour. We loved the old operation of the museum and would love to see it go back to that.

Sharlene Dittmann

Awesome family experience! Enjoy beautiful walks between the displayed homes and Farms or enjoy a tram ride!

Heather Branson

A great place to visit to experience the late 1800s. It is very spread out, but there are trams you can get on to travel through the areas. My kids (8 and 6) enjoyed the hands on parts where they could experience life earlier in Wisconsin's history.

Elizabeth Hamlin

Had a wonderful experience here with my two children. The whole place is very well-done, and staff are extremely friendly and generally knowledgeable. I will definitely go back. I wanted to post because the Google estimate that people spend "up to 2 hours here" was the only flaw in my trip--I allowed about 2.5 hours, and we easily could have stayed 4 or 5 hours to see everything. I would certainly encourage others to visit and to give it far more time.

Torren Kiernan

Amazing history

Gladys Tole

This is an awesome place for families it really makes you feel like you stepped back in time

Sandra Anderson

Great day at old world Wisconsin, we enjoyed our selves.

Andrew Greve

A great way to learn about how people lived in the past. You are actually able to participate and perform tasks the way the pioneers would have done. Be sure to get the $5 token so you can get something from the general store.

Jason Fish

Fantastic place. History comes alive. Make a point of visiting this Wisconsin treasure!

Christopher Mark Huttner Jr

Growing up in Wisconsin we get to see this place on field trips and we sort of take this amazing place for granted. We'll visiting family in Wisconsin we decided to take the kids here. Old Word Wisconsin was such a blast! The kids loved it, we loved it. Beer tasting... Got to see that basic Old World brew process. At Old Word history really came alive for the kids and the adults! For Digital Families, there are a lot of Poké Stops (Pokémon Go) and Portals (Ingress). But there is so mush to see here so PLEASE look up from your tiny screens. I hope you enjoy your visit here, like our family did!

Mandi Welbes

Sadly the normal amazing experience during weekdays has been replaced by a very unimpressive tour. My kids were disappointed and honestly we were all a little board. I would not recommend going on a weekday. Go on a weekend and get the real Old World Experience. I understand needing to make changes but It would have been nice to have the tour a little more engaging.

Chelsey O'Herron

Educational. Very interesting to see the way things were done. The staff do a good job of bringing the experience to life. The kids enjoyed making their own butter and fruit dumplings.

Beth Osterndorf

I took my niece and nephews nine, nine and eleven they had a blast. So exciting to find eggs and try the big wheelers. Try to spend the day to fully cover all the sights and experiences.

David Evans

Don't go during the week for the "Weekday Experience" as nothing is open!! It was 11:15 am when we be arrived and the next shuttle tour was at 2:30, but there wasn't room for 3 adults and two kids - even though we are members. ☹️

ianbouhunter

Always an interesting trip. Took several members of our cub scout pack, and they got to witness the sheep shearing that occured on this year's opening weekend. As always, a big draw was the blacksmith's shop. Kids got a big kick out of the general store, too. Weather was nice, and it should also be noted that OWW is open for events; they were hosting a high school prom that evening.

David Carpenter

Great place for a dance!

Sand Fred

Beautiful land, educational hosts take you back in time. Landscaping, farming, animals, beauty!

Cindy Weyenberg

We went for Mother's Day Brunch, food and service we're excellent!! Spent the rest of the time walking the grounds. Great time!! 15 of us ages ranging from 2 months to 70 years!!

Adrian Moran

I just visited this place again after many years. It was a wonderful experience and an absolutely beautiful day. The historic homes and businesses were quite fascinating. The guides / interpreters were very well-informed and friendly. The site is very large and spread out, although there is a tram to help cut down on walking between the areas.

Kevin Schauer

A wonderful living museum. This is a great place to wander around and learn about how life used to be in Wisconsin. Wear comfortable shoes because you will be doing a lot of walking.

Karina Turner

Fun place for a learning and sight seeing experience. Great for kids! If you like vintage this is the place to visit! I'd go again.

My Duong

Very informative and educational. Went with my son's 4th grade field trip but wanting to go back as a family. Highly recommended!

Paul Lyon

Really enjoy the effort and attention to detail put into their special events.

Shirley Kuester

Have visited Old World Wisconsin several times. It is not commercialized, but has a gift shop and restaurant. Extremely interesting place to view how our ancestors lived, cooked and dressed. All authentic homes, moved to the area, representing immigrants that settled in Wisconsin. If you love history, this is a must.

PJ Delp

Amazing! Best part is riding the Tram to the stops and of course the people!!

Sara Truse

Our daughters absolutely loved spending the day here! We'll definitely be back!!

Joe Willinson

Great place to go with the family or even on your own

Lara Patrignani

A wonderful travel in the past. A magical atmosphere surround you and I found very kind people happy to explain to me many things. The tram allow you a pleasant and comfortable tour...but I suggest you walking from a farm to another! Everything will be more realistic and beautiful!

Bob Wylie

#oldworldchristmas was great for all ages

Heather Ann

Love this place wish Houses where opend during the week since.I'm always stucl working weekends.

Jeff Tolliver

4 stars because of the friendliness of the staff and the opportunity to learn about Wisconsin's early settlers. While there is unlimited potential at OWW, it seems that too many opportunities have been missed. I have many suggestions to management on how to implement positive changes at little cost and am utilizing this review to throw down the proverbial gauntlet.

Jason Hayes

What's not to love about this place! Really great old time fun! Fun people.

Fiona Maxwell

A great place to go with the family. Walking the area and learning the history of immigrants of Wisconsin.

Joe McIntyre

Wonderful place to experience live history

KB 954

We have been here before and it was great, so we drove three hours to go here and bring our kids for the first time. We were very disappointed because now on the Week Days NONE of the buildings are open to go into but you still have to pay to walk around the outside of all the buildings. The only place you can get into is the gift shop and even if you take the tour, for an extra five dollars per person, you can only go into two barns and church. It's sad to say but Old World is no longer worth going to during the week and with the new programs I no longer will make the effort to go here again. We talked to many disappointed guests and everyone was confused because the website is misleading about what is open and what you are able to see. As it is set up now it is a waste of time!

William Zuehlke

It is awesome. The people who worked at Old World Wisconsin, are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Jason Knight

Stepping back in time to see the structures and the way of life for the different cultures that settled Wisconsin is amazing!

Scott Sharpee

If you want to appreciate how easy you have it, go back in time to this place to see how hard our forefathers worked to just survive. Nice cafe on site as well. Staff is friendly.

Colleen Dunford

Fun time walking around & learning about our ancestors.

Joe Pangburn

love this place

Kerri Krebsbach

Great place to view history. The houses and buildings are well maintained and decorated with costumed actors doing everyday chores that are period specific and accurate. I’ve been to many historic sites and they all pale in comparison.

Chris Finch

One of my favorite places on earth.

Laura Wendt

This is such a fabulous living history museum and site! The wonderful staff always teaches us something new.

Jeff Borah

This was our second visit, love this place. Great place for those who like history, seeing the different buildings and styles from different time periods. Highly recommend.

Krista Konetzke

Beautiful historic buildings and very fun events hosted. Always a fun way to spend a day.

Shelle Johnson

I absolutely love this place!! I love that all the buildings are original places that the early settlers built. I love that everything is hands on and you get to touch and experience things, not just look at them. This time we went, we got to thresh grain, find chicken eggs, see oxen be yoked and listen to their gut (!?), attend school in the one room school house, pick wool & see it being dyed, pet piglets, roll pie dough, crank the contraption that adds oxogen to the fire in the blacksmith shop and buy the hook we watched the blacksmith make, touch all the dry goods in the general store (this was my 3 year old's favorite part), buy something at the general store, and pound pegs into shoe soles and do some leatherwork on a keychain we got to buy and take home. On another trip, we got to ride an old fashioned tricycle, play stick and hoop and other old fashioned games, work a cream separator, and play the pump organ. I should mention we went to a similar but much smaller living history museum one time and my son started playing the pump organ and the interpreter was very unhappy with us. Oops! The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because they have significantly cut back on their weekday offerings. For the "Weekday Experience" no buildings are open and it is not really worth my drive out there, and beginning in September, I believe they are not open on week days at all. I bought a Wisconsin Historical Society membership with the intention of taking my homeschooled kids on some weekday field trips (at least on Fridays, when everything was fully functional during the Summer). But it doesn't look like I'll have much opportunity to do that. The website did not have information about when they close for the season or when their "Weekend Experience" would no longer include Fridays, so it made it hard to plan for trips.

Nat Davauer

WI treasure. Being able to walk though history

Josh Honeck

I highly recommend it because you can learn from what happened in 1800s and also 1900s.

Breana Nehls

Great day to explore something new! Try the bikes

Karen Arestides

Great historical place to see about your ancrstors' lifestyle.

Arthur Johnson

Very historic well laid out. Enjoyed it.

Vickie Luebke

Great experience for Grandchildren Great walking paths thru the woods. Have to visit more than once a year to get the full experience.

Drew Deathe

Always a good time. Whether for Christmas or opening for the summer sheep shearing

W Rivera

Is fascinated, I am coming back with my family.

Chris Glenn

Way to expensive for what we got on the weekend and the trams ran so slow. People working there were boring.

Charles Schmidt

I love the different events here, the old houses and structures are beautiful.

Angela Meyer

We had a a wonderful time at Legends and Lore.

Kathy Swedberg

We really enjoyed our day at Old World Wisconsin. The docents were very interesting and engaging. Our one complaint is the lack of educational signage at the buildings with no attendant. We wanted to know the history or even what the building was, but there was no information except for the limited information on the map.

Dawn Shipley

Everyone in our group had fun- ages 6 to 62! Interactive for kids- they got to find eggs in the hen house and practice shaving wood. We only hit about half the sections and will be back soon to enjoy the rest!

Jean-Michel Ané

This is a fantastic place for kids and adults to learn about Wisconsin history.

Crash Steale

Wonderful destination to experience what Wisconsin was like in the 1800's. The trams are nice and the drivers are very knowledgeable!

Samantha S

Friendly staff. Very cool place to go

Douglas Nelson

What fun! As someone of Norwegian heritage, this place was a treat. The staff is helpful and genuinely glad to see you. This is a great place for children to explore and play.

Becky Monteith

Awesome people

Jennifer Garty

So much history. Lovely grounds. We attended for a special evening event, about hauntings. Kid friendly and entertaining. The price seems reasonable for the amount of activities. Very clean facilities. Was impressed with the Niland and improv of the character reenactment. Staff is very friendly and welcoming as well. Would go back to spend more time on the ground and to learn more history of Wisconsin.

Richard

Awesome place to visit. Highly recommended.

Dave Brask

Great place to spend an afternoon. Dress for the weather and be hydrated.

Nick Leary

Great place to learn some history. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Amy Lattimer

So much fun! A wonderfully educational experience for the whole family.

Rick Itzenhuiser

Wonderful place to visit

Grace Becker

Had fun with Denise, Henry and Amelia today. Weather was awesome and the displays were great. Saw some sheep being sheared the old fashioned way.

William Fale

Considering how ugly the weather was, I give all the staff and volunteers an A+ for their outstanding presentations, courtesies and assistance. Great time for grandkids and us.

Shanie Harvill

I love this place!!! I always have fun with my family and we learn something new every time.

Tina Adamec

I have a membership & take my daughter a few times every year. This year we help separate flowers that were to be used in dying wool, picked other flowers to be used in dying as well & we helped stack wood. A wonderful experience for both parents and children. I highly recommend this.

Kevin Thompson

Good place for the family to learn about the past.

Hope Eggersdorf

We went for homeschool days. The hours were shortened-not sure why- and we didn't get thru everything. It is kind of pricey but a good history field trip.

Eric Svatik

Excellent experience it really seems like you are transported to an Old world right in the middle of this modern age back to simple times. I love the Tram but I really like the people that volunteer and work in the place that really have a love for what they demonstrate or show in the different stops. They actually have historical knowledge of their setting, extremely friendly and very welcoming and willing to discuss and talk about the history of the place you are standing in. Too bad we can't sort of get back to a simpler way of life. I will definitely going back another time in the future we spent almost 6 hours there and it only felt like a couple. Too many things to write about and I don't want to put a small book on this review you have to go your self if you actually want to explore, touch, and interact with a piece of history instead of just read about it in a book. The staff is extremely friendly and excited to help and tell you about the area or building that you are in. I especially enjoyed the black Smith that was an awesome demonstration, the young lady explained everything about her whole process of making a simple metal hook, and truly was working with her hands and enjoying it.

Pete Carmain

Had a great time and did a lot of walking.

Kara Witt

The Holloween event is the best! Fun the the entire family.

Paul M

This place was fun. Well worth the drive and admission price. The story tellers were great. Getting around on a Tram was a wonderful welcome idea. I learned so much and had a lot of fun. The food available is very high school cafeteria...I would plan to bring my own food next time or eat before you go.

DAVE BRASK

Very nice historic outdoor Museum. You're mostly outside so dress for the weather. It's a big place, you can bring a picnic lunch and make a day of it or at least lunch plus a long morning or Long Afternoon. Two picnic areas one under roof and one outside. Common farm animals to see but not to pet. you can walk the whole thing or use the trams to reduce the walking but of course you have to wait for the trams to come around. Very friendly staff.

Regan Bochek

Had a great time here with some of my family. Great Christmas themed event

Pete Hall

Great place. Family friendly and lots of photo ops. Everyone there is super helpful.

Julie Rousseau

Old World Wisconsin is a great family day trip! It is educational and fun!

Jenny Laufer

This place is great! Be ready for a full day of walking outside and don't expect to see everything in one day; it's taking us at least three visits to see everything.

Jay Luczak

Incredible indoor-outdoor museum in beautiful Kettle Moraine State Forest. Buildings from around the state, including farmsteads from various periods have been moved here. Tram service is available, but you can also walk from exhibit to exhibit.

Sarah Mette

The team members that bring this old world to life are top notch. They are great for kids and adults. We love coming here and can easily spend 6 hrs going through the place. The kids love taking a little break and riding the trams between villages. We also generally pack a sack lunch and have a picnic on the grounds too.

Lindsay Liss

Kathy P. always makes our visits enjoyable!!! Enjoyed our first homeschooling days!

Ryan Gibbon

Wonderful family venue. Definitely 10/10!

EILEEN ZWETTLER

I love the scenery and the learning ability about the different ethnic groups in this historical site. It's great for genealogical research.

R R

Visited on a very hot day. Thank God for the trans. Food was good but portions are small

Matthew Gates

Lots of fun. Great history. Very educational. Good food at the restaurant.

Mary Braunsdorf

Great historical site! Wonderful people.

Oma G

It was good except the Cafe was very disappointing and expensive. Otherwise you can experience all the hard work the farmers experienced and be thankful.

Julia Fleener

Very neat historical villages. Make sure to bring water bottles. A lot of walking, but have a tram system too. Could use more people showing different tasks throughout. Highlights are the schoolhouse, the blacksmith and general store, and gathering eggs in the German village. Learned a lot. Very kids friendly. Exploring was encouraged. Could use a few more buildings with air conditioning for those that need a break from the heat.

Greg Olas

$5 tokens are really dumb. Some things are worth it, but they use these for one glass of soda?!?#?. They need to redo this system. The food area is only open from 12-3pm. What is the point?? That being said, everything else was great. The tram system run often, but be prepared for some dust. Bring all you own drinks and food and you are good.

Ben Sattler

Me family and I love this place

Mr. T

Went on Saturday for the weekend experience. $20 for adults and $10 for kids. For my family of 4 there goes $60. Then I bought 5 tokens to buy things. So there's another $25. Then my son was hungry so we bought a grilled cheese sandwich with chips and a cookie for $10. So were at $95 and we hadn't even gotten started. Spent a token on a bar of soap. Another token for a top. Another for a plastic glass of soda. Spent my 4th token on a keychain my 5yo made. Then we had two ice cream cups for $8. Then we got on a tram to go to the next area. The driver MADE me put my umbrella stoller on the front of the tram. Even though the other tram drivers did not. Well on the bumpy, super dusty ride the top and keychain fell out of the stroller. My 5yo was devastated. We continued on for a while but soon decided it was time to leave. My son was not having fun anymore. I had one token left so I went into the gift shop. I showed it to the elderly woman at the desk and asked for my $5 back. She said I had to spend it in the shop. I asked what souvenir I could get my son for $5. She got snippy and said, "Nothing". So I bought 3 pieces of candy and two bottles of waters and left. We will not be returning. The money was one thing but what really disappointed me was that the buildings were run by a bunch of kids who could not answer half of my questions. Also the water fountains at the tram stops all taste rusty. So gross. What a disappointing place!!

Jim Hayes

Presents a representing of life in Wisconsin during late 1800s. More than one days worth of things to see. It does seem like they are short staffed since several of the buildings don't have anyone to explain. Update 8/19 - Changes the the program this year have weakened the experience. Monday - Thursday the only tours are on the tram to the German area (renamed farm life), with three stops. Very weak and worth the $10 fee. Other areas are open for those who choose to walk. No buildings are open and the walk is more difficult than than most would choose.

Tabatha Edwards

Great place! Went to the Legends and Lore event with the family. We had a great time. There were good stories, activities and food there as well. We will definitely be going back next year and look forward to more fun.

Bonnie Jones

So very interesting

Ian Hubik

Fun day trip

Jenny K

A very cool place to visit! An authentic look at Wisconsin's history. This place is huge at over 600 acres to explore. It's also in middle of nowhere. Makes the experience even more exciting. The staff is cool and friendly. They dress up in costume and give you tutorials of the buildings. It was a great family friendly place. We had fun! Lots to do and look at. Also wheelchair friendly with the tram.

Nate Judge

The Halloween Legends & Lore is a really fun event. This was our second year going to it, and we'll definitely be back again!

Sarah Rimmer

Great place for family trips

Terry Pavlet

It's out of the way and hard to find. Long winding road to get to main area. If you like to walk and be one with nature, this is your place.

Peter George

Great place to take your kids for the day and see how life was in the past

Kathleen C Fields

Great historic activity and beautiful country. Nice luncheon too. Beer homemade, soda real, buggyride great. Ill be back

Dave Anschuetz

Krampus, carriage ride and Santa were all great.

Quin O'Brien

What a cool place. Several real and complete homesteads relocated from various parts of Wisconsin. Each farmstead represents a different time and ethnicity. So, for instance, you might have a German farm from 1870 and a Swedish farm from 1850. If you can do the walk, do it. You'll travel along a paths through the woods and will pop out at the complete farm. It gives me a feeling of what it might have felt like in the 1800's. Most buildings are decorated with antiques and many have period actors dressed in costumes.

torikat snowpaw

Great trip. Went for Mothers day brunch with adopted family. Fun activy for groups or if you just want to go for a day trip with a friend

Taylor Harlin

This was an awesome experience! So much to see and it is all very interesting. The staff does a great job of providing an immersive experience without being hokey. My wife and I spent an entire day here and at no point were we bored. The property is huge and there is transportation provided for those that don’t want to walk long distances.

Matt Lepperd

Great place to take the kids to learn

Mitch Breunig

neat old time Wisconsin

Susan McDaniel

Like a visit to the Life of Laura Ingalls Wilder. Pretty much my favorite place on Earth.

Luis D

Super interesting, great for people of every age, no matter if you're really interested in history or if you just want to have a great time or something in between

Kathleen Ryan

Interesting place! Took my 9 yr old granddaughter and she really enjoyed the demonstrations, as did I.

Mary Douglass

Wonderful place, to learn about the settlers and imagrants in Wisconsin in the mid 1800's!

Heidi Seftar

I’ve been a long standing member of old world wi. These past 2 years have been so disappointing. Last year there were hardly any interperators in the house. Today I went out to look at the gardens that usually are just stunning. Just awful. WEEDS! That’s all they were. If Marcia would go out there she would be sick. All her hard work. Seems like there having a hard time finding a replacement. They have lost and have let go some outstanding people these last few years since new management took over. I think thats prolly the problem. When you have that much turnover in a short period of time, think they should look at that and get Old World Wisconsin back to what it use to be. A beautiful place to visit, not at this time.

Jennifer Clausing

Lots of fun for the whole family! Animals to see, old farm chores for the kids to try out. Get your tokens in the gift shop so you can purchase items in the General Store. Walking the whole property is great exercise, but I highly recommend using the trams to take you to each "country". Watch for special events throughout the year. And go first thing in the morning to beat the crowds and the heat.

Patrick Perez

A trip to Old World is always a treat. We particularly appreciate the knowledge of the interpreters and we love chilling out on a nice day and watching the old time baseball games they have there every few weeks.

John Brown

Great learning experience and beautifully well kept old houses a must go see with your loved one or your kids

Becky Whaley

Wonderful trip back in time to 1860 Wisconsin. Costumed interpreters share info on former residents of the restored buildings. Open shuttles take you to various villages or you may walk the entire area. They have a cafe or bring a picnic lunch, you can return to your car to get it and eat at the big red barn. Lots of hands on opportunies like period games to play, wash clothes and gather eggs. Excellent family activity, but kids are not required.

Jennifer Chabot-Manders

It was an amazing experience to see just a glimpse of what it was like when people first settled in Wisconsin. It's fun for the whole family!

Tandis Dzwonkowski

I have been there before and loved it. This visit i was disappointed by many run down fences and abandoned areas.

Laurie Pace

Was our first time there, so we had to figure out on our own how the trams worked and where to go, there was one downfall we knew there was a Mother's Day brunch which we wanted to attend but was sold out. But I guess we assumed they would still serve food elsewhere because they still had a cafe down below the brunch area and we walked down there for we were quite hungry and there were staff members sitting around and stated they were closed because of serving brunch. And the one dairy barn we were hoping would be serving something was just as disappointing for when we arrived they said their sandwiches sold out by noon! So would just advise people to maybe pack some snacks or sandwiches just in case.Other than that we had a wonderful time, very educational and so interesting.

Teresa Benson

Opening weekend for the sheep shearing and the weather was cooperative. I hadn't been to OWW since prior to the Eagle tornado quite some years back. My breath was taken away by the sight of lost pines and such, just heart wrenching. nonetheless I loved how orderly, clean and inviting everything was. The new Creamery is a nice addition and the young fellow working that Sunday was well suited for the position, so engaging and a great sell with his enthusiastic descriptions and menu suggestions. The new Wisc Wheel Club display is great fun. I am not so keen on the coin system that allows visitors to make purchases in the town area; $5 per coin seems steep for what can be purchased. That aside, I hope to see additional volunteers and interpreters on site for future visits to help bring the experience to life... the interpreters are gems! I highly recommend a slow day visit. There's so much to take in. It's perfect for solo visitors and families or groups alike. Also a great experience for those of us with immigrant roots as well as for visitors from abroad. I have grandest hopest that someone would champion bringing back the Friday night family style fish fry at Clausing Barn... that is a spectacular facility. Hi

Faith López Camarillo

A refreshing step away from the modern 21st century, Old World Wisconsin offers its visitors the chance to experience what life was like for the settlers of 18th-century America. Its sprawling prairies and wooded forest contain an abundance of native wildlife and fauna, and demonstrations on how the early settlers would have lived and performed daily tasks are frequently hosted among each of the exhibit grounds. A breathtaking preservation of early American history, Old World Wisconsin is home to many buildings of cultural and historical significance–so stop on by; silence your cellphones, and experience Wisconsin as it was several hundred years ago! It's an experience you'll never forget.

Cleverson Faria

Very nice place to spend your day with family, friends or a group of people. A lot of history in there. A little expensive though. Free parking. Food inside is a little expensive too. The quality of time in there, learning about the cultural and how that people used to lived is an incredible experience. Be ready to walk a lot and spend hours in there.

William Connors

Fun and educational. Great place to walk and explore Wisconsin history!

Todd Loehrl

Always fun! Great staff who are super helpful and engaged.

David Epstein

A very interesting walk through Wisconsin's immigrant history.

Robert Dzekute

Great place to remember the past and what got us here as a nation.

Jean White

We took 3rd thru 5th graders and they enjoyed the experience tremendously! The historic information was very interesting and the professionals delivering it were very passionate about what they were teaching. A great field trip overall!

Bradley Brockmeyer

It's hard to find places like this. I absolutely love seeing how people used to live in the past. Having interpreters dressed up and explaining things is icing on the cake.

Kellie Meisner

OMGosh what a beautiful place. Had a wedding there and it was so nice.

Jennifer E

Had a blast on a school field trip here today. The people working here are knowledge, friendly (but firm when they need to be, important with a gaggle of small children) and really did a great job giving us an old fashioned experience. Loved the bicycle shop, the blacksmith, the outdoor and indoor games, everything we saw really. Looking forward to going back someday to see more. In four hours, I think we saw less than half of the places there. Bring good shoes and stay hydrated!

A very nice place for families. Great historical representation of life in 19th century and earlier life in Wisc. Very accurate in it's presentation of almost all levels of life and the different occupations at those times.

Burt Andrews

So expansive and well cared for. Great hiking trails.

Great open spaces where the kids can touch and see almost everything. People are encourage to try things such as various jobs and chores around the different sites. Educational and interesting for kids and adults.

educational and interactive. We have two kids, agrees 1 and 3, and I felt comfortable keyring them run around. There was plenty of things to keep them occupied. All the volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Love this place! It's not for everyone, but if you dont mind walking and learning, this is great. I dont sugest going on extremely warm days, but on during nice weather Old World shines. My favorite time to go is Halloween were they have events that just warm my heart. There arent a lot of places like this anymore, and if you are looking for a way to spend your day, Old World Wis. is your answer
