My 6 and 2yr. old grandaughters and I visited the museum on Saturday, February 13, 2016. We had a great time! The museum has many interactive rooms for the children to visit and the staff was fantastic with the children. I highly recommend visiting the museum when visiting Eagle River! We will definetly be back!
Such a wonderful place! I took my grand daughter while she was visiting.
It's a great place with a lot to do with the kiddos
This place is so amazing!!! The staff is great and they always have something going on as far as events. The museum is educational and fun. The toy store is fantastic too. Five star for sure!
Grandsons had fun experiencing so many different things.
Wonderful for our kids to enjoy on a rainy day. Was super busy on the day we visited but the kids still loved it all!
Over priced and not really a lot there.
A few things weren't working. Heads up 1 and up are the same price. A little surprised that there isn't a discount for kids.
We absolutely love this museum. They keep it very clean and the exhibits are fun for kids. One of our favorites is the mine shaft. I'm a big fan of the smaller space because I dont feel like I'm going to lose track if my kids. Their family plus membership is a seriously good deal. Theres not a lot of playdate places in the northwoods so this is the perfect place to bring friends with to
Fun with my granddaughter
Kids loved it. Very nice staff
It's a nice place. I have brought my kids here a couple times per each of the last few years and they always completely enjoy themselves.
Been here many times, the kids always have a blast. Ms. Marg is super friendly!!
It was an awesome place for ldf head start to take the kids. They all had a blast! Didn't think that many kids would fit in there but suprisingly it wasn't crowded at all. Would definitely go back.
The ultimate for young children. Educational and a memorable experience.
Great fun for the young ones
This was a wonderful experience for our 2 year old and both my husband and I...just the right amount of activities to keep us all busy, and carefully chosen to keep your interest level at all ages! I loved that it's not too large, as I could keep a great eye on our son, even if he got ahead of us... it's all on one level, that was also wonderful! The staff is so very friendly, helpful and do a great job making the kids and parents feel safe. Knowing they are also keeping their eyes open, for our children's safety! The price is also so affordable for the fun time you will have! Make this a must see stop if you're visiting the Northwoods! The toy store is also a wonderful treat, many wonderful educational and playtime toys! They have great books, and that's what our family purchased! YES I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A VIST, WE WILL BE GOING BACK OFTEN!!!
Very limited and quite generic okay for very young children otherwise that was boring
We have 4 kids the absolutely loved this place mom an dad did too:-)
I was so surprised at how nice and we'll thought-out this museum was! There is something there for every kid! The mini grocery store with miniature shopping carts was fun. The glow room was a huge hit with my 2 year old. Then there was the reading room, the toy train and building room, the costume area, the art station, the tunnels. So much to do. My personal favorite was the working antique phone switchboard with phones at every station for kids to use. I was in the area on vacation when it was 20 below zero for the whole week, so this place was a perfect escape from the house.
Love it
Like many vacationing families this is a nice, Northwoods option for rainy days. It definitely is a small space and quickly crowds. However, it is easy to keep track of little ones in this space.
This was great for the kids would recommend to anyone
Great experience for kids and adults! Definitely worth the stop!
Hands down the best place for home school children to learn many different subjects. Rouleen, Margie and the whole staff are AAWWESOME!
Wonderful place, especially for visiting grandkids on a rainy day.
We visited the Northwoods Children’s Museum after an enthusiastic recommendation from one of my co-workers. He said he and his grandson spent all day, so we were looking forward to a rainy day at the museum. We arrived around 2:30 and stayed till 4:30, and that seemed to be enough time for our 3.5 year old son to explore thoroughly. I’m sure he would have liked to stay longer, but we left to find food before the dinner rush! One comment/critique would be that there’s very limited seating for grown-ups. Our kiddo gets pretty involved with his creative play and this pregnant momma really wanted a spot to sit for a bit to watch him while he played with the trains and race cars. I understand wanting to encourage parents to chase their kids around the museum, but there are play spaces where a comfortable adult-sized seat would have been appreciated. We will be back on future rainy days and recommend others to visit as well!
Great place
My kids love coming here, their imaginations get a work out.
My grandkids absolutely love going to the Northwoods Children's Museum in Eagle River WI. There is so much to do they never get bored. The help that you have are very good at helping if we have a question or if we need something!!! Thanks for the fun day we will be back soon!!!
Is more set for kid 6 and younger
This children's museum crams so many fun things inside it is awesome. Unique features include the black light room with pneumatic tubes and scarfs or the snowmobile and ice play area. Any rainy day at the cabin we try to get there
Lots of fun for the kids. Highly recommend the trip if you have young ones.
The kids all found something to love here. Easily spent a couple of hours and the kids could have stayed longer. Interesting stuff in the gift shop too.
Fun place for kids.
Grandkids loved this place
Always a nice time for the kids to play and explore.
I love it here kids can run and play it's small to where u can see them
Always a great place to go with the kids
Wonderful getaway on a rainy day! Kept our kids entertained for hours and the items we bought at the toy shop helped occupy them after we left.
Great place, staff could be a little more involved though during activities.
Awesome place for family.
Fun way to spend time to take a break from the sun. Kids had a blast.
Pretty cool for kids and adult kids
Nice place to take the kids on a rainy afternoon. Plenty of fun, educational activities to keep them busy.
Such a fun place. We have a cabin in the area and have especially enjoyed the kids museum on rainy days.
We always have a great time here! Staff is friendly and always around to help. We have a membership and come often making it very cost effective. Everyone with kids should check it out. Highly recommend!
Super cute children's museum, with a lot of hands-on activities for kids! Was pleasantly surprised with a variety of activities in this museum. Everything from art project, movement activities, dress up, building, exploring, water play, and so much more! I was honestly thinking we would spent maybe an hour or two, but ended up spending the whole morning and could've stayed longer. The parking lot was full when we arrived, and we were worried that it would be too busy, but there's so many activities, and it's laid out so well, that even if it's super busy there's still tons to do! The staff was really friendly, and they have a cute gift shop in the front of the museum. Wish we would have gone sooner.
Pretty nice place, great feature for Eagle River. It gives you something nice to do with the kids on rainy days also.
Very nice.
There are lots of fun rooms for kids to play around in. My little one had a blast. Defiantly would recomend.
Great place to be when the weather isn't ideal for outdoor activities. A lot of fun and educational activities. A few things did not work or were broken hence only 4 stars. Yes a little pricey but the little ones did enjoy it.
An amazing time every visit
Holy adorable!!! I felt it was the most "interactive" of the museums we've been too yet (above Madison, Milwaukee and Appleton so far anyway). Compared to the other three, it is the smallest. But that didn't seem to matter. In fact, it almost was liberating because it felt very safe... and like we didn't have to completely hover. And despite being smaller, their exhibits felt more "hand's on" and really kept the kids more entertained for longer than I've witnessed at the other museums. Also we absolutely LOVED the new black light room. (It would have been fun to play with more than three scarfs though... so please buy more). But overall, very well done!!!! WIll definitely be back the next time we're on vacation up there! Kids ages: 5, 4 and 16 months.
This is a great place for kids! Our kids had a blast and they can't wait to come again. The store is amazing so many fun items for the kids to play and learn at the same time. We will definitely be back!
Variety of exhibits and interesting things to do. Our four year old granddaughter had a great time.
Great place to spend a (rainy) day. I was surprised to find such a great children’s museum in a small town like Eagle River. We took our kids there and easily spent 3 hours there. We were on vacation in the area, and the weather wasn’t good, so it was a nice way to keep the kids occupied. So much to do.
So much to do for little creative minds! Super friendly staff and things I even got caught up playing with!
Great place to explore for kids.
Great for kids probably 6 and under.
So much for the little ones to do. You can easily spend 3 hours plus entertaining them.
Cool little place for kids on a rainy day
A really well run children's museum. As one would expect tons of hands on activities. We stop every year on our vacation. This year kids range in age from 9 to 3 and had a great time.
Nice place to take kids!
Son always has fun here ... has lots of activities for kids and is filled with fun history
This was our first visit to the Northwoods Children's Museum and we loved it! There's so much to do, and so many different fun activities. My favorite was probably the flash room and the room that glows in the dark. It was worth the trip and I do highly recommend it! Here's some of the things your children can do: play in a log cabin, ride a snow mobile, fish, camp with a play fire and tent, dress up, build hot wheel tracks (and then race your cars!), watch a toy train go around while you light up the houses and make the people move around, play in a tree house, read books, art, spray paint a t-shirt, crafts, climb through a lung, jump start your heart, throw food balls in a stomach, play in a store, mine for rocks and much more! It will not disappoint!
This place is awesome! Who knew eagle River had a children's museum‽
My three year old lost his mind when we had to leave. Everything in here was so much fun, great local treasure to kill a few hours with high energy kids.
Small museum but several exhibits. A bit over priced for the small size it is.
Always a fun visit! We always enjoy taking friends and family here when they vacation near us. It never gets boring. Great employees and activities.
Used to go here as a kid. Dont really care for the new exhibits... got rid of the cash registers in the stores and the little ambulance and stuff like that. Replaced with a body exhibit and nothing worked and a mining cave which wasnt really that fun. Blacklight room was really cool though. Fun if you go for a couple hours
Very good museum, grandchildren had a blast
Love It❤️
Lots of stuff. Epic glow room! Clean. Great staff. Lots of toys to buy at reasonable prices!!!
My little girl loves this place
The place to hi with small children in Eagle River, WI
Not as awesome as the one in Marquette but it's still a really great place to bring the kids. Every aspect of it helps build your kids imagination.
What a wonderful children's museum. Numerous rooms dedicated to different themes. Trains and Hotwheels, treehouse reading nook, dress up, grocery store, underground mine, black light room complete with jumbo light bright, art room, and woodland theme play area in the middle
Great fun with small children! There are so many fun ways to entertain. Grocery store shopping, TV studio, Post Office, climbing, camping, cooking, building. They have a small gift shop, bottled drinks, and a popcorn machine.
Great place to take your little ones. Our guy had a blast. Lots to do and see.
This was an expensive place to visit. When we visited about half the exhibits were not working and no offered to give money back or make things right. I did not like going here.
We always have such a wonderful time here. the staff are all wonderful and there is just enough play variety to be stimulating but not too overwhelming.
Such a fun time and so much to keep the boys occupied
This is a great place to for kids to learn and explore. Plus you can come and go as you please for the whole day.
Friendly staff and kids loved it.
Love it! We go there every year around 4th of July when we go to visit the North Woods. It definitely has a lot of interactive stuff and is a great place for kids.
Little small but fun for the kids.
Very cool play centers. Well kept up. I really liked that when we got there they laid down the law with the kids: You don't come or go into the play area without your adult and before you leave a play area clean up.
Kept the kiddos busy for 5 hours! Only down fall was the bubble station wasnt full enough so the kids didnt get to do it properly.
Fun place to take young ones
Very friendly and helpful staff, plenty of hands on activities, and bright, colorful, and relaxing environment. Does need some love with some lights (easy wiring) and some tables out front need a screw or to be repainted. Otherwise its be a 6 out of 5 stars. My kids are hooked.
