Here you will see all the feddbacks of people who consumed the products and services of National Railroad Museum (Museum) around Wisconsin area.
At present the business gets a rating of 4.7 out of 5 and that score is based on 809 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is virtually the highest, and it is based on a very high number of scores, so we may think that the valuation is very credible. If people have bothered to value when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to write scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Museum belongs to the category of Rail museum.
Excellent lots of history of rail travel. Grandkids enjoyed alot!
Great place to see old trains! Awesome grounds... Train ride is cool too...
Took 3 year old grandson and he loved it! Loved train ride and I loved the history. All money goes back in to this "exhibit" and lots of volunteers to keep this little piece of history, as well as learning experiences open for us!! ❤️
Great museum, I used to go here when I was little! This past summer I had the opportunity to stop and explore the trains once again! It was a awesome experience! Make sure you also take a train ride!
Was a family member but went to visit and was told are small dog was not allowed because they now have a pet policy which they only post on there website. It is not posted anywhere on there entrance but they have a NO WEAPONS sign posted go figure are family will never go back here again....
The family and I had a blast. My 4 year old son loves all things trains. So he was very excited to run around all the engines and cars. A very good line up, some that I have never seen before. A very nice surprise. Can't wait to visit again and bring my father along, as he does train derailment clean up.
My fiance is *obsessed* with trains, and he was super impressed. He especially loved seeing the Big Boy. We both loved getting to go inside just about all the trains so we could see what it was like while they were running. Climbing the tower was great, too! Fun for all ages and levels of interest in trains :p
Such fun! They have several buildings that house different trains. You can climb up and walk thru most of them. A great place to stretch your legs and let little ones run. They also have outdoor exhibits and plenty of photo opportunities. I took the train ride and got to wait in the depot. The ride was long enough to be exciting and short enough not to be uncomfortable. I highly recommend visiting this museum.
Disappointed They have an awesome Big Boy but otherwise the place is falling apart. Needs a good scrubbing however you can walk through several cars and locomotives.
Limited in that it was to much for 3yr old grandson. Very much enjoyed the train ride and he liked the children's depot even though a couple of things didn't work. As adults, wish we had the ability to stop and read information on the trains that are there. Will go again...when grandson older!
Lots of stuff very interesting if you're in to trains
If you have an interest in trains this is the place to be. The inside train Barn has Eisenhower's train from world war II. You can stand in the car and imagine Eisenhower making all the decisions about the battles that needed to be fought there is also one of the last remaining big boy engines. Upon seeing it you will know why they called it a big boy. There are many other unique train and train cars displays inside this building
Nice museum. My wife and I spent 2 hrs there. The Big Boy is there too.
It's very hands on and the kids loved it.
We love this place. It has been a family tradition for over 17 years! It has been my 19 year old's favorite place to go since he was 2.
Staff goes out of their way to answer any questions...if they do not know; they don't just BS you with an answer...they research it then & there and get back to you. The Train ride experience is unique to the museum; and for kids under ten...is simply 'perfect'...what kid (or adult) doesn't like trains? Unique museum, with quality exhibits, and a nice set of volunteers (most are volunteers) and staff...definitely a thing to check out in Green Bay!
Great place! Loved going inside all the old train cars. Good value, not too expensive.
Very fun place to take kids that love trains. There are so many that have been restored and some that are the way they were left when they quit being used. Get to take a short train ride around the yard to see things that would have been seen if you were on one back in the day. Lookout tower that you can see far away locations including Lambeau field. Gift shop with all kinds of things to get.
It was totally awesome I would definitely go back
Excellent railroad museum! This might be the first train museum I've visited where steam locomotives, including the Big Boy, are open for the public to explore the cab. The displays were excellent, the building housing the Big Boy is very clean and there are multiple interactive exhibits. There's a 25 minute train ride and an observation tower with a view of Lambeau Field nearby. While not the largest train museum I've been to, I still recommend visiting this to young and old railfans alike!
Lots of well restored trains with information boards. You can walk through several of the trains and take a ride around the grounds.
Big Boy, nuff said.
They had a lot of trains and I like the Dwight d Eisenhower train the most
an awesome place for those that love trains
This place is INCREDIBLE. Fascinating train engines and cars, interesting stories and posts, and wonderful family events such as Day Out With Thomas and Polar Express. Been here several times and will be here many more. I just wish my son wouldn't make me go through it so fast every time! There's so much there to enjoy. Love the train rides, too.
Great museum! Lots of cool trains. You are able to walk through or into about 20 trains. All were well restored except one. The one that wasn't restored was the coolest because I was able to see the original seating and other such things. They also have a very impressive observation tower from which I was able to see the whole museum and a good part of the Fox River. They offer a cheep but fun train ride of 2 miles with an announcer giving history as you ride. Fairly cheep and definitely worth it. You could probably spend 2-5 hours here easy.
Pretty cool place... you get to go inside old trains :)
This place is amazing. I love going here. Wish I went here more often
Great collection and nice view from the tower. Decent amount of air conditioning and multiple sets of restrooms. Oh and trains. Doesn't get better.
Great collection of trains. Has 4017 Big Boy !
Neat to see historical trains in person and be able to climb aboard.
Great museum. Lots of great exhibits for kids.
went there for rails and ales. A lot of good vendors but always more impressive is the display of trains sitting inside the building. The train yard outside was closed but in the past it has been a very good day adventure. Especially for kids. If you're in the Green Bay area with kids, they will not be disappointed. As an adult with appreciation, you will be completely in awe.
Great collection of trains and information. My family enjoyed getting to walk through all the types of trains they had. Only thing that would have made it better was heat in the outside trains. They had a cool kids area as well which was warm sonwe saved that for last. Great educational area!
I'm going to have too say this right away. This is my favourite place in the whole world PERIOD. This place is full of amazing locomotives and related items! I'd you're a parent with young kids bring them! If you're a person who loves locomotives bring yourself! I love this place so much that I have a membership and Everytime I go I get a pin. PLEASE VISIT THIS PLACE ASAP!
We attended the Rail and Ale Brewfest. It was an excellent time. Lots of wine and beer options along with some good food. This is a great venue for this or any event.
Best train exhibit ever! My family and I had a blast! Highly recommend!
Excellent, kids really enjoyed. Ride on the train was very good and guide was great in explaining
I visited last year and I had to come back while I was in town. It is well worth visiting. They had thomas the train there this time giving train rides my daughter just loved it we had a great day out there again.
If you like trains or are interested in history, this is an amazing place to visit
Kinda fun for a few hours
Been here a few times. Super friendly staff and a great place to spend a few hours
Great place to see the trains of the past. Quiet, with playground area for kids.
Our kids enjoyed this place and so did we. The old trains are amazing to see and go inside of. The gift shop is nice and so is the train ride. The playground is a nice break from touring trains for the kids. This is definitely worth the admission.
I didn't realize how many different railroads and trains this country had. Walking through and around these great achievements fills a person with awe and wonder. I didn't think it would be as interesting as it was. I'm glad I went I think you would be too.
Wish we had more time to spend there. Will definetly try to go back.
Been here a few different times now, each time for a special event going on. First time was near Halloween for their pumpkin patch picking event. It was a lot of fun and very well done. We did go very first thing in the morning for that one so it wasnt super crowded on the train ride or really that crowded inside. By the time we left a few hours later the parking lot was completely full.
Dark Arts Rules! The Museum is great also.
My 2 year old had so much fun
We really enjoyed the time we spent there. It was very clean. We were there for the festival of lights. Loved the decorated trees. Lots of pictures and information. Thanks
We can see the trains of previous century. A historical collection of trains and engines.
Awesome museum! A lot to see! Wish I had time to ride the train.
Well worth you time to see some great history
A very open and self guided museum. Allows you to actually climb in the trains and really feel like you are experiencing the history. Try to go when it's warmer to enjoy the outside portion in comfort.
Great experience with kids
Good for the family. They have a history portion and then have a heated area that you get to go inside several different trains. They also include outdoor displays, a tower, and a train "station". They give rides during their events around the property. The place does need some minor updates. They are planning on renovating the place soon.
I'd totally live here, but I forgot a phone, so here is a modern locomotive somewhere else.
Wow, had heard about this for years and never took the time. Well worth the trip. Lots of trains to see both indoor and out.
Highly suggested to attend. Wow. Such history and awe. Some trains well preserved. Others still highly enjoyable. Can climb into most trains. Very low key. $10 entrance browse at your leisure. So fascinating.
It is very nice! All the old trains and things! Kinda sucked that we can't climb on the trains. But, it very good!
We came for a Day Out With Thomas. It was our first time being here and it was so amazing. Definitely kid-friendly and definitely will be coming again with a bigger group that's time. I absolutely enjoyed myself even as an adult and my son enjoyed himself for his birthday.
Nice place, should have enough to please any train lover. Great play areas for the kids too.
This was a great family trip for us! Amazing collection of locomotives and passenger cars. The kids loved the train ride and especially went crazy at seeing a "real live Big Boy!" Well worth the visit!
Good Museum. They offer seasonal activities for all ages.
Nicely done museum. Worth the 2-3 hours to go through it as they have some interesting items on display.
Well-curated and full of lots of interesting information. I love how many trains there are that you can go into and explore. It seems like a great family-friendly museum, I saw a little boy there who was having a blast and there's lots of informative history for the parents too.
Highly recommend checking out this treasure!!
The history, the voices during the paranormal Tour with Haunted State!
Cool place. The trains are like a step back in time. It was very neat getting to walk through them and imagine life. The staff is also so happy, they seem to genuinely like working here and it shows.
I was awed by the size and diversity of the rolling stock here. Much of the museum is out of the weather which makes planning a visit much easier. Our favorite exhibit was Big Boy followed closely by the Pullman car display
I loved it everybody was kind and knowledgeable everybody should see the history of the locomotive thank you very much
They are preserving our railroad history.
Great place to learn about trains! Fabulous Eisenhower loco, and the Big Boy 4017 is just a beast!
Wonderful museum. The trains are all very impressive. This is great place for people of all ages to visit. The staff was also very friendly.
Kids love it. The highlights are probably the Big Boy train and the General Eisenhower, but there are plenty of other worthwhile trains to see. The summer adds train rides and a more pleasant outdoor experience. Kids area is a hit with a long train table, coloring and other train related activities. Extensive gift shop.
My grandma use to take me here when I was a kid now she came with me and my son. It was a great experience coming here with her again and this time was extra special since it was my sons first time. We each bought a book for him in the gift shop to remember his first visit there.
Beautiful place . Nice visit. Need a mode of transportation for elders and disabled
Great place to come. Even if you are not a huge train lover it is still fun to come and see all the old trains and ride one. The train you can ride though I would sit in the front car by the middle. The rails squeal a lot and it was kinda hard to hear the guide. Great experience though for 2-3 hours.
My kids love this place lots to see and they typically have something new going on often enough to keep it interesting. I don't like that the little train in the kids area is never running. Also another nice thing is when you get a pass to this museum it is actually good for several other places. All in all a good place.
It's cool. Go check out the train ride before going through lol.
Very reasonable. Excellent train displays!
Historic, train rides available, and nice views from the observation deck!
Great place! For adults or kids. Make sure you have a lot of time to be able to explore everything.
Grear family place! A person can spend several hours here, learning and exploring. Great kids area, educational, clean facilities, and friendly staff. Would go back again.
Great place, staff and volunteers who made it a great day!
Neat place, pove the big boy Steam Loco., Eisenhower's train is pretty cool too.
had a fun time with my friend. cool trains. they had the easter bunny which was cute. you can walk through the old trains. very fun & educational
Went for the day out with Thomas and it was a really fun time. However, I think some of the old trains that are usually open to walk through were closed for the event.
This place is priceless and I will never forget it!! What an amazing collection of trains!!! Wish I lived closer!!!
Great place for family's and your kids. Must recommended this place very clean and nice.
We loved the museum. Great activity on your own, as a couple, as a family or in a group. Terrific gift shop and photo gallery. Great collection of drumheads. Beautiful art and models. The climate controlled building features DDE's A4 engine and the Union Pacific Big Boy number 2017. To stand next to no 2017 is really the only way to truly appreciate its immensity. There are a few other engines and some rolling stock in this building, some of which you can walk through. Great information is on display. The history of Pullman and the significance to civil rights was very interesting. You can take a ride on a short working line and view additional pieces. There is also an additional open air building with still more rolling stock and engines including one of the Aerotrains. You can easily spend an entire day here but pack lunch if you don't want to leave the premises, otherwise a wristband allows re-admittance. Definitely worth the price of admission and then some.
Very neat museum with a bunch of different engines and cars. Hopefully next time we visit it will be in the summer so the kids can ride on the train.
Fantastic place to spend a day, when we stopped it was later in the day. We did not see everything, we are looking forward to another trip here
One of the most Pleasant Railroad Museum experiences you could ask for. Full of informative railroad history.
They have big pieces of history here and all so well preserved the only thing I would ask from them is to clean the dome car but it is still very nice and maybe let you look in the aero trian itself or the cars other than that it was a great time would highly recommend this place
Spent my afternoon here. Loved going back in time when looking at our history of trains. The train ride was nice. Liked getting to walk in the train cars.
Great place to visit. Old trains, lots of info, indoor and outdoor activities. 2 year old and adults all enjoyed it. There is a playground outside.
The train ride was amazing! Our 2 year old loves trains!
Awesome piece of American hostory
Great place to go if you're interested in trains. Only comment would be that it would be nice to clean the trains every now and then. They get dusty on the outside a lot and even just hosing it down with water would help to make it look more presentable.
Great time seeing the exhibit.
Awesome display of vintage trains!
Awesome trains! Big boy and GG1 are very impressive! Not to be missed.
This museum is great, we really enjoyed our visit. This is a good place to visit for both kids and adults who like trains. It's worth going just to see the Big Boy, which is inside so it's still in pretty good condition.
I love this place!
We had a great time & our youngest went nuts once he realized where we were! We'll definitely be back!
This was a great place for all ages Grandma even love the huge black big boss steam engine
I kept. Saying" I THINK I CAN, ITHINK I CAN"
Very well kept and maintained. Worth the price.
If you like the history and the railroad, this is the spot. Lots of trains though can't go into some of them.
Great place to see and learn about America's locomotive history and see the trains up close.
We liked the trains
If you're a train, machinery, history or transportation, nut, this is a must
Is a great place for kids to have fun while learning some history.
Always love seeing the trains snd always learning something new.
A very impressive collection of historic train engines and cars. I am not sure young children and teens would appreciate the experience, but I sure did. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 stars is the fact that there is very limited access to see the insides of the cars for individuals with handicaps.
Spent the day with my grandchildren it was a lot of fun
Can't wait to see the whole museum. Was there for a wedding.
Such an awesome place to visit. Great place to bring the family and check out the history of locomotives.
The pumpkins were all different sizes from huge to small enough for a toddler to carry. The entire staff was helpful and awesome from inside the actual museum to outside at the pumpkin patch and on the train. The second time I came was for their Festival of Trees. Very nice little set up, with lots of different trees sponsored by different companies and organizations around the area. All the trees were uniquely decorated with something to do with the organization sponsoring it. I think we went on a Friday/Saturday night an it really was not crowded at all. You could still look at all the trains and the museum still ran there were just a lot of really awesome trees at the same time. All in all even if there is not a special event going on, there are a lot of cool things to see and learn. I would say its a great place for kids or adults. Kids love the huge trains as as far as I am aware they were all used at some point and nothing is fake. You can go inside most of them and see how people used to travel cross country. Really awesome. There is lots of stuff to read and videos to watch as well for the older kids/adults. Bottom line, come visit this place if you need somewhere to take the kids. Its worth the drive from wherever you come from.
It has trains, what else do you need to know!!
We attended an adoption celebration here this passed Sunday. What a fun treat for all! The history and displays are unique, interactive and interesting. The children's activities, especially the train set table, kept the little ones engaged. All ages were allowed to walk through the train cars, which was a huge bonus. A family friendly fantastic display!
Loved seeing the old the locomotives nice place and friendly people
Really cool museum with many well preserved train engines and cars. Very impressed. There is also a playground area, kids museum area and large gift shop.
The Big Boy UP 4017. Amazing!
Impressive collection of retired trains cars and engines. They have a ride on a real diesel engine train. There is 85-foot observation tower you can walk up. You can walk through a lot of the cars. There is a kids' building and outdoor play area with picnic tables. The whole family enjoyed it. Allow 3-4 hours.
Nice museum, could use a little more interactive activities for kids, but nice overall
Repeat visitor, always look forward to the history.
Great family fun looking at trains from years gone by. Love the staff
Lots of interesting trains and lore. Wish they were still with us...
Awesome day trip....Recommend for anyone
People are nice kid enjoyed the train ride but a lot of the stuff is stored outside and in very poor condition
Reasonable price for a bit of railroad history.
The days of the great steam locomotives, aaah wish they came back. I love this museum.
Variety of displays, childrens area, short train ride, lots of history and ability to see inside of many displays.
Really a 3.5 score. Some of the displays are nicely maintained while others need a lot more restorative work. The available train ride is okay for small kids but not worth the extra couple dollars for most adults as it is simply two laps around a half mile loop. A Big Boy is one of the highlight displays well maintained while a less well maintained GM Aerotrain, one of only two in existence is a nice surprise.
Great Event!
I love this place because you can go back in time to the days of the train. You can even take a train ride. Nice area as well.
We had a great time at the museum. We got to see alot of different things such as the Big Boy, caboose cars, snowplows, among other things. Had a nice little play area for the kids outside and we got to take a train ride. Very nice and courteous employees and not too badly priced. I would recommend checking it out if your in the area.
Fun place with some amazing trains. A little on the pricey side for 'just a visit' but for one of their scheduled events it's a lot of fun for kids, particularly if the love trains.
We took our 7,5,and 2 year old boys and had a fun afternoon. We will definitely be going back again. Reasonable prices, interesting museum!!!
Nice place for a visit. If you have children there's a outside playground.
Best railway museum in the world. With lots of fun for children
Very fun and informative! It takes a couple of hours if you include the train ride. You're able to see and go inside multiple engines and cars. If you or your kids enjoy trains it's worth the stop!
Highy recommend if your interested in trains great displays.
Nice place to wander around. Even if trains are not your favorite
Railroad fanatic's dream for all ages! Unique and beautiful exhibits about all aspects of railroad history. Nice, narrated, open air train ride is fun for all. Children's Depot is great for little ones. Theater presentation was interesting as well.
Fun place! Great family events
They need a lot more space to properly display all the rolling stock they have. They do have a nice photo gallery though.
Super fun for the kids. We missed the train ride but there a lot of trains and old rail cars to walk through.
Went years ago and wow what a change. Family was thrilled and a bargain at $12 which includes a train ride. Great place to pack a picnic for. Loved that you could walk through so many of the trains and the contrast of the indoor area with the little bit creepy, but super cool outdoor area. Can make a great full day going here and nearby Lambeau!
Very helpful volunteers made my children very happy, and excited. Highly recommend this museum.
Fun place to learn about trains. It's nice to walk and see how train were and are. We also rode in a train which was really cool
Nice place to visit , it has many exbhist to look at
Impressive collection of trains, shown off by people who obviously love them.
Great place for the family.
Green Bay and Wisconsin treasure located close to Lambeau and downtown. Great for kids and adults.
Great museum for all ages!
