This Museum is included in the category of Natural history museum.
Great museum, a good variety of subjects to learn about. Culture from all around the world, science, history of Milwaukee... they have hundreds of live butterflies for you to admire and kids love them. I also watched the movie about the great reef barrier in Australia, which was good and entertaining, not the ordinary museum movie as this was about 50 minutes long.
Overall a great place to take the family or anyone who has a day in Milwaukee. Many different exhibits and the pricing is reasonable ($18 adults) for what you get out of it, which is three floors of organized artifacts and history. Wish the exhibits were updated as some of the things are the same they were from 20+ years ago, but never a dull experience.
Simply wonderful museum! Ever since I was a child, I have enjoyed the old streets of Milwaukee and the European Village. The rainforest and butterfly exhibit is incredible too. I would say though, that I really wish they would be more careful on the upper floors of what they exhibit. Some of the Pagan cultures have very vivid sculptures and representations of body parts and immodesty. We avoid those areas because that really just doesn't need to be shown so clearly to children. Also, while the dinosaur exhibit is neat visually, the information is highly inaccurate claiming foolish atheistic reasoning of millions of years when we know that the great flood of Noah's time accounts for the huge amount of sedimentation. This period from the dinosaurs to us is only about 6000 to 8000 years ago. It would have been much neater if they talked about facts like humans actually being about 20 feet tall as well as everything else being so much larger. It doesn't make sense to show a dragonfly a foot or two long, as well as all other beasts being larger, but then the human was supposedly only five feet tall? I think not. The atmosphere changed dramatically after the flood. True history is much more fascinating than the garbage that the atheists come up with.
This place is great to wander in for several hours. One tip for people with kids, take a Natural History Museum scavenger hunt worksheet (find them on Pinterest) or if you are a member, go get an explorer guide. It makes the trip a even more fun for kids.
Great place to go to. Bit pricey but will go back. Plan to spend the whole day there. There is lots to see.
It's always a treat to go to the Milwaukee Public Museum. Ever since grade school, it's been one of my favorite Milwaukee icons. The butterfly exhibit is amazing. It was great to see the revamped Streets of Old Milwaukee, and see that they didn't make major changes to some exhibits, so as not to eliminate some of the nostalgia of that area. The IMAX theater is always a thrill. Prices are a little steep, but we were free on Mother's Day. Can't wait to go back!
Loved this place. The dome theater was awesome. Was almost like visiting a zoo with all the animals there on display accept they were fake. Very good choices for a nice lunch. Could be there all day. Kids absolutely loved the butterflies.
This place has always been a great place since I was young and I always looked forward to going here, went to all the usuals here and had a really good time, learned some new things from the people they had as volunteers at some learning stations they had set up and enjoyed the new to me exhibit up on the 3rd floor, most of the stuff has been there 30+ years and is dated that's the only reason for the 4 stars.
The museum has always been a favorite of mine since I was 10; years old! Taking my kids there and now my grandkids has been wonderful! On this last visit, the staff was so nice and helpful! I want to keep making memories here before they move, and it will all change
Was fun we went on a first Thursday so we got free admission. The place can get pretty crowded because of that but we still all had lots of fun.
Best museum in USA, so much to see ...
Good museum! I got in for free because I had jury duty. I will be back!
Fun times had at the Milwaukee Public Museum. Definitely plan a day back there again. Fun for both adults and kids. Best to pack food and take it with you as options there are quite pricey.
Damn I love this place! I've lived in Milwaukee for 32 years and the Public Museum has never disappointed. I hope this place never changes. It is extremely family and child friendly, but makes sure adults are not lost in the shuffle. Can't recommend the Food and Froth beer party in February enough. The museum plus beer!
Amazing!!!!! We had the best time. Exhibits were interesting and informative. Loved the spiders and the butterflies. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We bought a membership and will definitely be returning with the rest of the family!!!!
This is one of my favourite places on earth. From the Streets of Old Milwaukee to butterflies forests, from the Africa to the arctic tundra, this museum is so amazing, informative, and captivating. I've had an annual membership for much of my life, as have my family members, and it's something I don't want to go without. The special exhibits never fail to impress, and the IMAX theatre always has a breathtaking show in the queue. Definitely worth a visit, and I also highly encourage membership. It's been a huge gift to me and my family!
Fantastic day at the museum. I have memories of this museum when I was a kid, now I took my kids there. My 9 year old daughter loves dinosaurs and my 7 year old son loves planetariums. It was a win for the whole family.
We love coming here each time we visit Milwaukee! We come for Bucks & Brewers games, the zoo or concerts but a stop at MPM is always a part of the plan! Friendly staff & wonderful exhibits make learning FUN & interactive for the kids! Don't miss the butterfly garden!!
I love the museum. I only wish that they found ways to make their exhibits have a little more creativity at times. Also, the food court needs to be better and priced more according to the quality of food. I believe with the right leadership, the museum could be even greater than it already is! I would love to contribute some ideas.
We just went to the Halloween party and had a great time! Lots of great staff and activities. We will definitely be back next year!
One of the most beautiful museums I've ever seen. Very beautiful exhibitions with a lot of attention to detail. The show in the planetarium was really nice.
Very well done . A must see
I love this place. I got the dual patron membership for my girlfriend and I so we get to see two movies per visit which is money saving and provides great entertainment. There's always so much to read and learn that you can't absorb it all in even a few trips. The butterfly room is great to visit every time since you can see butterflies up close and even have them land on you. Kids love that part. The cafeteria serves decent, fairly priced food and having the membership gets you a discount here. The museum started hosting scavenger hunts for adults that seem to happen twice a year. It's been a lot of fun racing to the finish to see the private collection item
Always a great time to spend an afternoon. Very informative and a great friendly staff.
My last visit was when I was a college student, and I recently returned with my granddaughter. It is a wonderful place for every age. The exhibits are so well done, and there is such a variety. We enjoyed the beautiful butterfly exhibit and the old Milwaukee section. There is so much to see that it would be good to make several visits. The public museum has 3 floors of things to see. Parking garage is available, and the museum is open until 5 most days. Plan to spend around 3 hours there. Don't forget to get candy at the streets of old Milwaukee exhibit.
The best place on earth ! I love love love this place. Fun for the whole family !
A Milwaukee icon and standard. Wonderful events through the year. A wonderful place for yourself, as a couple, the family or the class. There is something for everyone. Not to mention you can't go wrong with free admission the first Thursday of the month for Milwaukee residents.
Love this museum so much. Took my dad here while he was in town, and he was able to see everything even in a boot.
This is a must visit place in Milwaukee! Amazing collection of everything - right from historic animals, native Americans, bison exhibit, butterfly garden, bug exhibits, Egyptian area. Lots of interesting and interactive activities. There are exhibits representing every country - though a bit dated! Kids or adults, everyone would have an amazing and worthy time. Wish the lighting could be better. Planetarium is big and lots of really interesting shows round the clock during the museum hours. Only downside are the restrooms and drinking water stations - both were not in good condition and needed maintenance. Otherwise it's a 5 star place and a must visit.
Many fun exhibits! Butterfly exhibit is beautiful and the planetarium show is great (and not too long for kids).
Great museum with lots to see. We were surprised by the Suze and didn't allow enough time and energy to see it all. Something for everyone.
First time back in 15yrs, and it's just as awesome as I remember, now with a butterfly exhibit. It was so much fun going through with my kid.
Absolutely outstanding! Great for all ages! Don't pass this up! Several stories, little cafe and coffee shop inside, and much more!
This is a great place for anyone to visit. Whether you are a junior or senior citizen, with small kids and families, or even on a date you will not be disappointed. Many exhibits on three floors. Museum is very organized and exceptionally clean. Staff members are friendly and helpful. I've only visited once but am already thinking about planning my next visit.
I visited the Milwaukee Public Museum with my child's class, and was pretty impressed! It's a nice museum with lots of exhibits, a butterfly room that is amazing, and even a cute little coffee stand! I'll definitely go back!
Loved this place as a kid, love it now. Apparently if you go during the last half hour you don't have to pay admission which is super cool. Streets of Old Milwaukee has been updated since I had last been and the additions are actually really cool! Definitely still my favorite exhibit
This is one of the best place to go visit if you go to Milwaukee you will need all day there to spend there so much to see it has some theater show like walking with the dinosaurs we have so much fun with are family I hardly recommended you are not getting disappointed for sure.
I've been to many museums, but none have been quite as fantastical as my home museum, the Milwaukee Public Museum. It's almost as if it has a way of transporting you. Not just through time, but into a magical land of wonder. The twists and turns of the dark hallways always beckoning you further to see where it will take you next.
This museum is a great value for the shear size and scope of the exhibits. We spent three hours reading/walking the different floors and could have spent several hours more reading everything in depth. The ancient civilizations section was my favorite stop along with the live butterfly exhibit pictured with the review.
The Streets of old Milwaukee FTW!! The rest is a little meh.
Super clean and the staff was extremely nice! My son who is almost 4 absolutely loved the butterfly and dinosaur exhibit!
Such an amazing experience for the whole family! Get there and see why it's nationally famous
Loved everything a out it. The kids had fun, the adults loved it. Would definitely go back, it so much to see. Only down side is the IMAX seats are small and that they want you to walk up, to walk all the way back down (pointless )
Great planetarium show. Exhibits realistic, informative, eye-catching. Spider exhibit worth the extra charge. Child friendly.
If you're a fan of spiders, now is the time to go. They have about 12 different spiders (all in cages, don't worry!) Of all different sorts as well as some scorpions with tons of facts about them. Overall, I have gone to the Milwaukee Public Museum hundreds of times and it never gets old.
Very beautiful you can smell the vintage smell in the air. I enjoyed my chai tea wish it was BIGGER. Reason not 5 stars plugs didn't work to charge phone while enjoying my snack.
Great exhibits, my kids absolutely love it. A little pricey but excellent content.
A fun way to spend the day! Walking around the Streets of Old Milwaukee is amazing. While exhibits get updated and changed slightly the iconic pieces that one remembers from childhood still remain and are in phenomenal shape. The butterfly experience is also a must see! No matter how young or old you are a trip to the museum is a must! There is literally something for everyone!
Museums need more praise. This is where the physical collections of all human knowledge exist. We only see the parts that are easiest to display for the public, there is so much importance to the collections beyond the dioramas. I am immensely proud to have such a public institution here in Milwaukee, and you should be too!
I was be with my family in this museum at Dec 31, 2018. We special for comes on exhibition dedicated FROGS. But we find inside a lot of interesting. Unfortunately we has no so much time. In this day museum close early. But we hope that can come again. Good place for family visit with kids.
An affordable, fun and big museum, perfect for families and group outings! Kids love it here.
Visited the Filed museum in Chicago which is grand but I liked this better. Warmer and richer. Great dioramas.
One of the gems of Milwaukee. Must bust and see the streets of old Milwaukee and the Egyptian display. Great stuff!
Museums will always be a critically important part of our society.
I've been here twice before for school trips and I plan to go again this weekend. I absolutely loved it. I was a apart of a small class in highschool where we constantly went on field trips, out of all the museums we went to (trust me we went to a lot in the area) this was by far my favorite! I'm super excited to visit for a third time and show my fiancé it for his first time!
The Museum was much larger than I expected and we could have spent a lot more time exploring the exhibits.
This place is huge. There is so much to see. Could easily spend entire day there.
Pleasant size of museum. The display of Milwaukee street is fun. The kid enjoyed here!
Enjoyed it havent been here since I was a teen...some of the interactive stuff needs repair...Could be a little cleaner...Butterfly room is awesome! Would be great to expand somewhere down the road...I will return and recommend though...
Incredible place. Not expensive and lots of American history, nature and culture. Amazing.
Fantastic museum. I loved the poison display. Definitely plan ahead to decide on what you want to explore. I will definitely be going back to spend more time in the Native American section.
Loved this museum! You will find exhibitions for all tastes here which will be interesting for children and adults alike. I especially enjoyed their geode collection and the temporary exhibit about poisons. It was a very cool and informative visit.
Wow! Prepare to spend the better part of a day at this extremely well executed museum. From prehistoric to the present, this museum has it all. Highly recommended.
Definitely get a membership. We go all the time. Perfect for homeschoolers.
Always a good time. Had family friends from out of the country visiting and they were impressed. The Power of Poison exhibit was excellent! Next time need to start at the 3rd floor bc I never have enough time to explore.
Always nice visit and see all sorts of history !
An absolute treat to see and walk among so much history! My kids loved the dinosaurs and the butterflies most.
Fantastic! The old world exhibit is truly a marvel.
I always love coming to the museum and seeing the rich history of Milwaukee!! I have becoming down here since I was a child. Now it's my turn to show my children and continue the tradition
Just how I remembered it as a kid. Immersive exhibits, very educational, and fun for my kids too. Only spent 2 hours there but I could've stayed all day easily.
This museum is so cool! The exhibits are some of the best I've seen outside of the Field Museum in Chicago. I was so impressed!
Great books... amazing children section
Went here today with my daughters middle school class. This is a really cool museum. They had the Poison exhibit going on which seemed interesting to the teens as it incorporated a lot of books the kids were familiar with like Harry Potter, Snow White, Lemony Snickets, The Princess Bride, Agatha Christie and Edgar Allen Poe. They also had a recreated village of old town Milwaukee that the kids loved including a candy shop where they could buy old fashioned candy. They had exhibits for a variety of cultures and environments of the world as well as a cool domed theater where we saw a planetary like video. Dinosaur skeletons, a live butterfly exhibit, stuffed animals from around the world in realistic displays, and much more. It is well worth a visit. There is a cafe and a gift shop as well. I will come here again.
Interesting exhibits, kids favorite was the butterfly garden. Some staff were nice and interacted with children but most of them were not interested. Ladies at ticketing were rude and not interested in providing good customer experience. Parking is expensive, street parking might be cheaper but u have to leave every 2 hours to add time as the meters max at 2 hrs. Cafe that has coffee, snacks, and food is available. We usually bring out pun food. Courtyard is nice place to take a break and eat. Would great to combine this museum with the discovery museum. .
Great stuff, a lot more than I expected. Can easily spend the whole day there and was well worth our trip!
It's hard to compare when you're from Chicago, but their butterfly haven was awesome! Loved the beauty and calm in the glass enclosed room. Butterflies land and park on you. Very cool! Nice little food court too.
Outstanding!! Excellent dioramas!! I'm a native of Milwaukee so I'm prejudiced but I think it's great.
I LOVE the revised "Streets Of Old Milwaukee" especially the trolley. It was very creative how the scenes changed to reflect the way the city has changed over the years.
Not the best museum you have ever been to but a great place to spend time with your kids during the weekend. Membership staffs were very polite and helpful. My son love the Butterfly Vivarium, where you can walk between hundreds of flying butterflies and see their metamorphosis lab with pupas at all different stages. Many more interesting things but I leave them to other reviewers.
Visiting from Chicago with my 12yo. We were impressed with the museum. Much larger than it looks. Ton of history and cool exhibits. Thanks for the fun!!
This is an amazingly sophisticated museum but everything's in English. So if English is not your native language, it may be a tedious visit. Tons to read about and worthwhile for kids and adults. Make sure to get to the third floor to see the shrunken heads. Here's my advice start on the third floor and work your way down. It's less crowded up top.
Butterflies! The volunteer docents were extremely informative and personable. Need more, lots more interactive experiences
Neat little museum. The taxidermy, Old World and African exhibits were really neat. It's expensive for what it is, though. You'd have to spend a whole day there to really see everything.
A whole lot of things to look at and had an exhibit for every part of the world. All the displays were realistic to the point that the human figures seemed a little too real... Overall a great museum and has something for everyone
We went to watch a 3d movie. Very nice and clean in the inside.
We are lucky to have this gem. My kids live the butterfly exhibit. I prefer the gems and fossils.
If you like history and a place to either be by yourself or with your family this is the place to go. From Old Milwaukee Street to Asia and Europe there is something for everyone. Want something more? Add the Planetarium for a well rounded experience. Oh do not forget the Butterfly Exhibit to see nature up close and personal. And taste the Paninis and Coffee. This Disabled Diner had a ball and I think you will too.
Went for a day visit, and was thoroughly entertained! The museum would rightfully take at least two days to see everything, as each exhibit is well-done, extensive, and detailed. The coolest part that we made it to was the Streets of Milwaukee exhibit. The food is good, but be aware the cafeteria closes before the museum closes. And the dome theater is an impressive experience for anyone!
We had so much fun. Not very expensive either. The food and drinks are, but getting in to see the shows and museum was not bad for 4 people. Much to see and learn about. Enjoyed being there from open till close. The butterflies were one of our favorite exhibits!
My 4 year autistic son loved every bit of the museum. Enjoyed every minute of seeing his smile here.
The movies were very entertaining and informative. The cafe was great for lunch. A great day for our kids.
A lot of variety in the museum focusing on both natural world and anthropology. There are a variety of areas focused for both kids and adults. The streets of old Milwaukee are fun and impressive that is not seen else where. Along with the butterfly garden
Wasn’t expecting much but we were very impressed by how much you can see and learn here. Very clean and well kept museum with so much to learn you could easily come back a few times and still learn more. Loved the butterfly garden and we also caught a showing in the planetarium. The streets of old Milwaukee is a great addition along with the trolley. Learning can be fun and this is just the place to do it!
Their butterfly exhibit was very well done and they just added another live exhibit that I plan on taking my kid to very soon. Worth the money forsure.
Always loved the museum as a child I was excited when I was able to bring my little one she enjoyed herself.
Fun for kids, interesting for adults. Do NOT park in the ramp on a Bucks home game day, or if anything is happening at FiServ. The parking was $20 special event parking.
Amazing experience.. My kids 3yr & 4yr girl and boy absolutely LOVED it!!
Even if it's not your first time here, there is ALWAYS more to see and notice. A few hours still doesn't seem like enough time. Love the streets of Old Milwaukee!
Accurate portrayal of the past. Great way to learn history. Surprising number of subjects covered.
We figured since it was our first time in Milwaukee we had better visit the museum. It was pretty comparable to any other museum for the most part. The mammoth and dinosaur bones were neat. My very favorite part was the live butterfly habit. What a cool and unusual experience! We got some neat pictures, too. I'd be interested in coming back but bringing my kids next time, I think they'd really enjoy it.
Interesting displays all over make this a really great spot and one you can visit multiple times and still learn new things at. It can seem a little long to walk through it all, but most of it is worth the trek. Their food options could use to be a little bigger, but that's not too much of a problem because it's not the main focus here and the museum's location is a great spot in the city to get food elsewhere after your stop.
A huge museum with so many good exhibits! It's really interactive and entertaining, but most importantly they do a good job of making education fun! The theater/planetarium is amazing and it really does feel like you're moving while watching programs on it!
My kids (13, 5 & 3) all loved this museum. It was absolutely worth the 1.5 hour trip for us. The 1st floor is so interactive, with many things to touch! They especially like the butterfly garden and dinosaur bones. I think it’s wonderful the planetarium shows are included in the price AND our local children’s museum membership made our visit free. Everything about this trip was great.
Great variety of displays, regular scheduled special exhibits, low price with student, veteran and membership discounts. There are many things to do here besides visit exhibits! Walk through butterfly garden, and imax shows mean you should plan being here for a full day.
Old World Wisconsin seems to be the only updated thing about the museum, besides an insane policy that you can no longer give your kids drinks or snacks upstairs. The exhibits are behind glass, so I'm not sure what harm could come from placating tired children with juice and goldfish. The staff are completely rude about it as well. Very pricey outting just to have crabby kids by the time an hours up. If you're in an all adult group, it may be a better experience.
I was really impressed! It's been several years since my last visit. They have really put a lot of effort into the exhibits to make them more interesting. The quality of the work is excellent. Nice crystal clear new glass to look through. My Patron membership (ninety dollars), includes two members, tickets to an exhibit - three dollars each normally twenty, this year was all about Poison, Venom, etc. Free admission to the planetarium and the movie theater and five dollar parking that is normally fifteen.
Outstanding, fun venue and staff for high end celebrations, fundraisers and corporate events!
Absolutely one of the best museum experiences you can have. Young and old will love the displays, streets of old Milwaukee, butterfly exhibit, and Wisconsin history. Staff is great and knowledgeable. One of this great city's gems.
went to Milwaukee for a night away and wanted to explore as many museums as we could (reasonably) fit in while we were in town. None of us had been to MPM before but we'll definitely go back again. There was something for everyone in our family, ages 2 and up! Personally, I loved the streets of Milwaukee and being able to see the European houses. The kids were enamored with the dinosaur exhibits. Even though there were a lot of school field trips visiting at the same time, we never felt crowded or rushed in any exhibit.
Best Museum. A must go! kids loved the experience.
I always love the new exhibits that go there. This time it was poison exhibit, who knew that history and fairy tales could be so much fun. There was butterflies, and the prices weren't too bad in the lunch area. But if want a good deal, get a classic dual membership, if you don't have a lot of kids...best prices if you have a friend or significant other that you want to share with.
Exhibits are alway worth seeing. The follow is very good. As per shows they are very well planned.
Old World Wisconsin/European village is s must see! I give three stars because the exhibits on the 2nd and 3rd floors are aging and are in need of updating. We couldn't even see the Japanese garden because the exhibits was closed due to a roof leakage.
We had an event at the museum and there was something for everyone. Enjoyed the village, the planetarium, and the rain forest. All was very informative and nicely done.
Always happy to visit here even though not many changes. Streets of Milwaukee is my favorite now that I am older. I loved the dinosaurs as a kid and they're the same as back then. I buy a season pass every year.
I love this place. Great for people of all ages, from kids to the elderly. Well organized and educational. The planetarium is very exciting for the kids. Staff is friendly and helpful. The museum is big enough that you will not be able to see everything in one day, but small enough that you are not overwhelmed. Visited on a Saturday and had no issues with crowding. Thank you for the fun day.
Wonderful museum. Great place to take the kiddos. Streets of old Milwaukee is my favorite!
There was so much to see and not enough time. It is a great place to visit for all ages.
Be sure to research parking before you go. Parking is a pain. I recommend bringing your own lunch to eat in the cafeteria. Definitely check out the butterfly room! It’s amazing!!!
Great place to go with kids or even by yourself. Very interesting to see all the things from around the world. The butterfly garden was awesome!
I love this museum. They are always adding new exhibits and the old ones are amazing.
Great place to watch the Bucks game. Friendly service, good food, great atmosphere
We absolutely LOVED this museum!! SO worth the money paid for it - we spent 4 hours there and we "cruised" through some of it so we definitely could have spent more time there!
So well done and so many kid friendly exhibits!
Love the Butterfly room, especially the people that can't read the sign do not open door until light is green.
Great place to visit!! Loved the exhibits. One of my favorite museums.
The Streets of Old Milwaukee will always be a favorite exhibit. I love that they have the old candy store, a silent film theater, and now a big-wheeled bicycle that you can really sit on. The new trolley that takes you back in time is a favorite of my 3-year-old. The permanent butterfly exhibit is delightful, especially during the cold months of the year. I just wish the cafeteria was open later into the afternoon.
Could have been there for days. Clean and interesting never pass this up if you have a chance to go.
Great place to come with a family of all ages. Come early because there are so many wonderful exhibits. Our Florida friends couldn’t rave enough about their experience. We attended the Wisconsin Sky gazing presentation in the Dome Theatre which is included with admission.
Great activity for the kids in a rainy Sunday. Love the little candy shop in old Milwaukee town exhibit
A good way to pass some time & learn something; the butterflies were lovely.
Museum was really nice. Lots of stuff to see, could spend all day there and then some. The dome films are really cool and I highly recommend. They also have a nice cafe to get a quick bite to eat as well.
My kids always love going to this museum. It's super pricey though, we only go when we get the free passes from summer reading programs
The exhibit where the T-Rex is chowing down on a Triceratops is pretty gross... I remember it made me throw up as a kid, which is why I’m only giving 4-stars. I think the other exhibits are cool though. I would go back to walk through the streets of old Milwaukee and to check out the butterfly room! It’s definitely worth the trip downtown, just avoid the dinosaurs if you have a weak stomach like me!
You could spend all day here and not see everything. From natural and cultural history from around the world, to an old Milwaukee village. This place has a lot of cool, and was well worth the ticket price.
Still fun. Love the butterfly room and the new train display.
First time and first time in Milwaukee. Very pleased with the whole museum. Everything was organised and easy to read and understand. One of the best experiences I've ever had. It is worth the travel from anywhere. I personally come from Indiana to see this place and would return in the near future.
Milwaukee's natural history museum is small enough to navigate easily yet comprehensive enough to showcase some of the best exhibits. Many child friendly and hands on areas delight the kid in all of us. It also features guest exhibits from all over the world. A truly delightful and educational excursion for all.
Halloween party at the museum is outstanding! Great time for the whole family. Can't wait for next year!
It is a classic museum, but could use dome updating. Imax movies have always been great.
This is a wonderful museum. I grew up near DC and the Smithsonian. I wasn't expecting much from a small city museum but I was surprised by the variety and quality of the exibits. There's a nice little butterfly room or you can stroll through the streets of old Milwaukee. We were there for a special exhibit and only had a couple hours to explore the permanent exhibits. I could have spent the whole day there. I'll definitely be going back soon!!
This place has fun exhibits and staff that want to help you.
It's a nice museum. The live butterfly place is pretty neat.
Located in downtown Milwaukee, the museum could be one of the oldest ones in the area. But I won’t feel regret if I have ever missed it. Overall the museum seems lacking renovation over years. What impress me most are the dinosaurs and yesterday’s Milwaukee streets. General entrance fee is $21.5 plus $10 parking.
Always love visiting this expansive and educational museum. The Streets of Old Milwaukee is my favorite part. There is something for everyone!
Needs to be updated with new exhibits and more interactive exhibits
Lots of stuff to see. We did two films and most of interactive exhibits. More than you can see in one day.
Went to see the Poison exhibit. It was excellent. MPM is definitely a cultural asset to Milwaukee.
Great museum in downtown Milwaukee. Love first Thursday free day!! Parking is ridiculously expensive though
Haven't been here in a while! I see some improvements since my last visit. Not bad, I expect more, I guess!
Awesome museum and well worth the price you pay! I got a $14 ticket with my student ID! So much to see with all sorts of fun things.
It's always nice to visit every few years. Streets of old Milwaukee was a great improvement. Although, they need to make more!
A must see while in Milwaukee, definitely a city treasure. The streets of old Milwaukee are an all time favorite!
The museum is great and I always learn something new every visit, either in the special exhibits or the permanent ones. Some of the exhibits could use some updating but it's always a good time regardless.
Great place to visit! Each time I see and learn something new that I missed before. Definitely worth the ticket because you can easily spend hours and hours in there. The frogs exhibit was really fun too and had frog species I've never heard of before!
Spent several hours wandering the floors. Lots of cool exhibits. Really impressive.
Havent been there since i was in kindergarten... so nice to go thru it being 27 now!
Love the museum, they are making some much needed updates, still some ways to go. As much as I love many of the exhibits, a lot of them haven't seen updates in the 30 years I've been going to the museum.
