REVIEWS OF EAA Aviation Museum IN Wisconsin

Kristine Wallace

It was very enjoyable. Some areas not suitable for young children.

Nathan Johnson

A great Aviation Museum to check out. This museum is a very interesting place to visit and see the history of aviation. I visited the museum when I went to the EAA Airshow. The ticket for the airshow included free entry to the museum. There is a lot to see. The birth of the airplane, to military planes, and civilian aircraft as well. You can also walk the airport grounds outside. Warbirds Alley is where the historical Fighter planes are located. I highly recommend checking this place out. Just a heads up if you go during the Airshow Week it will be a bit crowded.

Jane Adams

It was a great place to bring the kids! We all learned a lot and had a great time!

Jordyn Schraeder

What a variety of planes! Go to the museum of AirVenture and you won’t be disappointed, even if you’re not a big plane person.

P. Mitch

Staff was great all around. A few plants weren't back yet so that was slightly disappointing. Great venue though

Abel Bain

I love this place. If you want to learn everything there is to know about American aviation and have a fun time learning then this is the place to go. They have great guides, a wonderful gift shop, and so much great history! They even have some originals that the Smithsonian has copies of! Great place to go and when you do make sure to enjoy the flight simulator!

Ross K

A small but nice place to take a look at everything aviation they have quite a bit of stuff put in there and it would be easy to miss or walk by some things would love a guided tour as museums should help us learn what everything is and help us know it's story in time

Jimm

So much to see packed into 2 floors of exhibit space. Can spend a whole day wandering around. Unfortunately they don't have a restaurant on site but there are many good ones very close by.

Caleb Wolfrath

I love this place tons of info and airplanes to see

Robert Drews

VERY interesting but then I like flying objects

George Rawson

This museum is very unique and it is a great interest to anyone who wants to know about flying. The way things are displayed and what you get to see reminds me of the air and space museum in Washington. The children young adult area is the even interesting to a senior like me enjoy doing the flight simulator. The world war II hangar really gives you an insight as to what it was like for our American heroes during world war II

Maggie Bennett

Kids love it, every time.

C

Planes are really cool but the interactive displays were kind of lame or not working. They definitely need updating. But if you like planes, you'll love what there is to see and learn.

R Charles

Awesome experience, history captured for the ages. Staff was friendly

Mike Shelton

Visited Oshkosh WI EAA museum, moved by WWII exhibits, saw unique traveling original WWII bomber & fighter nose art exhibit, art was on original aircraft sheet metal, stunning, world class museum. Found plenty of parking for our truck camper. We stumbled upon a wedding in progress at the museum. Looked like a great venue to have a wedding. Windy outside blew their fabric runner, started to sprinkle. Hope their special day went well. I was very moved by the exhibit dedicated to Operation Overlord, the D Day Invasion. Saw well-preserved German and Japanese weapons and uniforms.

Dan Reising

The speakers tonight were three of the squadron leaders that helped in the development of the F117 Stealth Fighter that dropped the first bombs on Bagdad. Very interesting.

Mel B

So very much to see!!! Price is great for adults per ticket! The volunteers there are the best! Very knowledgeable and sweet! A lady followed my fiance an I around here and there and educated us on all the airplanes! She was so very sweet!

Emily Alviani

If you're interested in aviation AT ALL, you will love this! The children's portion is better than some children's museums.

Krystiana Valor

So much family fun! A whole area dedicated for kid fun with a sky glider and hot air balloon simulator. Very hands on learning!

J K

Excellent but there should be more trees planned for shade and people to sit down under the shade during the day.

Dianna Baker

A great experience for anyone interested in aviation. I really enjoyed watching the children flying/piloting the planes.

Dana Z

For me the greatest part was to see a touch if history. I was able to get an idea of what my grandfather went through in the war as a pilot.

Timothy Jury

A great museum. They have hundreds of aircraft, in pristine condition. The facility consists of multiple buildings, all hiding their own secrets and mysteries. Many tales of trials and tribulations, experiments and financial ruin all hide within the walls. The museum has many exhibits for everyone, not only aviation enthusiasts.

Stip House

Interesting place for aviation enthusiasts. Friendly people. Lots of interesting things.

Jessica Gindt

This is my favorite museum of all time. I've been here twice now and I always leave so happy and inspired. I love WW2 aviation and the eagle hanger is definitely my favorite part. However, every part of the museum is fascinating and extraordinary, you can learn so much. I hope to go the the air show next year, but for now I have just been following the livestreams and keeping up with their social media. This a place you must go!

Andrew Melton

The exhibits were awesome! We were here for 'Hops and Props' (where else but in Wisconsin) and it was incredible! A must see for anyone who loves aircraft

Ed Zaccari

This is probably one of the very best locations to spend precious quality time with family and friends. Lots to learn in a very fun way, that is attractive and encouraging for every family member...! We as a working class family highly recommend anyone to attend, specially the Young Eagles Flights!!

Mandy Suess

Absolutely love going here with the kids! Whether its The middle of Winter for their Christmas Activities for the kids, or Summer during EAA Air Adventures! Always a blast and educational for both the kids and adults!

Kyhl Thomson

Unbelievable place. Planes everywhere

Jim Hepner

I was expecting a little more. But it is still very cool little kids will hate you for taking them there

Arica Andera

Love this museum! History, science, and fun all themed around aviation.

Colleen Rawson

This museum is one of the finest in Wisconsin if not the US. Who is interested in flight does not want to miss this museum. The exhibits are done to Smithsonian standards. One of the first things you see is the wright flyer then you have to imagine how far we've come in such a short. Of time in aviation. If you're really going to look at things and enjoy the exhibits I think you need 4 hours. We took two friends would never been there before and they found it very informational and informative. A must-see for anyone who has an interest in aviation.

Brett Scheuber

I loved this place so much. I would come back again in a heart beat. They have a little something for all ages. Good mix of older planes and self made planes as well. They even have options for an additional 75 to go up in a plane with one of the experienced pilots here.

Keith Auer

Everything you could possibly need to know about airplanes is in this museum. Very kid friendly.

Jamie Fritz

Awesome.....could spend a whole week there.

Chris Coite

Great place to stop and tour. Amazing collection of planes on display. And the staff are really friendly. Stopped in after the 2019 EAA AirFest which is also a great Show to attend! Definitely a must stop location!

Jason Thompson

Fantastic. Impressive collection of airplanes, artifacts, and other educational material (videos, diagrams, games). Attached are some whimsically illustrated, fighter pilot training posters on display.

JJ

Its a good time for all ages, worth taking a trip! Look into the young eagles before you go if you have kids between 8 and 17.

ChristSong Ministry Non-Profit

Awesome! Kids will love it.. free flights for 13 and under..a must see if in the area.

Carmen Baker

Great museum, lots of different types of airplanes. People there are very nice. Would love to go back during the fly-in week.

Sarah Penshorn

Hands down - THE best aviation museum I've ever visited. It's all indoors, and the docents are so friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great place to stop by to escape the heat for a while, and learn about all kinds of airplanes.

Ohhh so many airplanes to see! What a delightful museum! When I came up on the military section I was so excited! My 10 year old daughter was breathless at seeing her favourite, the P-38. Wonderful nose art exhibit, every kind of airplane you could want to see. If you love airplanes, this is Heaven!

Jesse

I hadn't been to the museum since I was a child. It's so much better than I was expecting. It's truely a wonderful experience. My wife and I went with our 11 month old and had a blast! After looking through the place we decided to get a refund and buy the year membership for the family. Also, if you haven't been to the grounds adjacent to and behind the museum, you definitely should. It's beautiful back there.

The One, The Only, ESPACADO

A very fun museum with very helpful and polite staff, a nice collection of planes, and a nice 1930's style airport behind it.

Steven Schmelzling

Hidden jewel in rural Wisconsin. Home of the EAA it is heart of general aviation. Was there for the annual airshow that shouldn't be missed.

Janine Heid

First time visiting. Didn't allow enough time to see everything. Will definitely be going back again. Only spent 2 1/2 hours there. Great place for school age and older to visit.

My boys were not interested in going to the EAA museum. They said the outside looks boring. Boy, they were so wrong. We entered the museum, paid a very reasonable family fee, and then we're promptly greeted by a very friendly and enthusiastic volunteer who said the boys could fly an airplane if they wanted. We were taken to Pioneer Airport and both boys were allowed to ride in a plane! What a great experience! They were on cloud nine for the rest of the day. Wonderful exhibits, friendly staff, immaculately clean. This place is amazing.

Annie Pierce

For one week out of the Year Whitman field is transformed into an aviation Marvel. Some of the oldest and most rare airplanes to the modern-day Fighters are constantly flying over your head. It's called EAA Airventure, or most commonly called Oshkosh.

Nicole Karnopp

Airventure was amazing as always there is so much to see and do.

Luiz Antonio Arantes Junior

Plenty of replicas, displays, everything well organized and kept, helpful staff.

srishti srivastava

A great place for a fun family day for all ages. They have a great collection of aircrafts. Pre plan and make reservations for the vintage aircraft flight. A must do activity if you're in the area.

Jared Brodjeski

While we spent the day at Airventure we were granted access to the EAA museum and walked through the main hall. Packed full of different aircraft and memorabilia from well known to rare flight machines this museum was worth the walkthrough. I’d imagine being able to spend a couple hours here on a rainy/snowy day learning more about how the history of flight progressed but it was nice to see what it had to offer with the time we had.

Mike Walker

Really cool to see literal pieces of history. The cool bits of plane only tell half of the story, but it's a great way to grab your attention. There's so much to see and read, very interesting place to spend the day.

Jason Aschebrook

Kids Venture was a great experience for the granddaughter. So many activities to do. She thoroughly enjoyed it and both grandma and I will treasure this memory with her. Thank you.

Cindy Dady

Great history! Super personnel

Robert Dusza

Incredible museum. Very helpful Volunteers. Finally got there!

april zvan

Excellent collection of aviation memorabilia. The area set aside for Capt. Volker's presentation, however, was much too small for the crowd that tried to fit in.

Bob Crouse

If you're in the aviation this is the place to go and absolutely excellent collection that shows you everything about planes from how they're constructed and put together to how their powered and how they've developed over the years.

Lots of older airplanes on display. Numerous aircraft engines. You could see the push rods and rocker arms. Two biplanes that you could fly in. $75. Open cockpit. Feel the air blowing over you. It felt like you were just hanging in the air. Enjoyed this very much.

Jamie Seavers

Ben Colbourn

Fantastic museum, really nice atmosphere that allows for some deep thought to occur

Joe Meinerz

This should be on every aviation enthusiasts list of places to visit! Though there are plenty of areas that are dated and in disrepair, the only way these can improve is from visitors and donations. So, overlook those parts, as it is still a wonderful museum worth supporting!

Roberto Goncalves

Allots history and a day to remember our heroes.

elizabeth garcia

This is one of our favorite museums. The children's portion is small, but informative. If you love history, art, aviation or just like a quiet place to reflect, the EAA Aviation Museum would be a perfect visit for you. Make sure to see the WWII nose art, appreciate it as a product of the era.

Travis Wiley

Ted Mall

Aviation memorabilia, historic airplanes and engaging aviation related exhibits indoors and outdoors with an active airfield. Visiting exhibits related to air and space travel. Many kid friendly and hands on displays. Many historic and experimental aircrafts on display make it one of the most extensive collection. Many special events attract people from all over the world.

Steven Schwarz

This place was everything I remember and more! I hadn't been to the Aviation Museum since scouting about 13 years ago. I loved the nose art exhibit. Thanks Otto for mentioning that to us upon entering! I brought my wife for her first visit this last weekend after we participated in the Terrain Race on the grounds. I felt like a kid again. I'm inspired to get back into aviation and engineering! So much great history here and I'd like to be a part of it.

Gary Rosier

It's a great place to take break, get some AC and check out so much history-cool aircraft!!

Laura Clingman

Love air shows! The only thing I wish this air show had was a schedule of what was flying during their limited daily actual Air Show. The schedule booklet only says 2:30 - 6 p.m. Air Show. I wish it had a breakdown of what all was flying. While I love all planes, the military planes are my favorite. But, overall, this is one event anyone who is even slightly airplane crazy should not miss if at all possible!

Tim Amerling
