You must have seen that it has an average rating is quite positive, and it is founded on a very high number of opinions, so we can be quite sure that the rating is very faithful. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are happy, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to give tatings when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum is classified in the category of Archaeological museum.
Expect to spend less than an hour. It is a small musuem. But they just updated the kids area and it's quite nice
This is a very small museum, which is perfect for little ones who want to explore. They have a space in the basement with books, puzzles, and coloring. Upstairs there is a place for kids to learn how to be paleontologists on a dig and a room full of dinosaur bones on display. Entry is free, donations are accepted, and there is a small gift shop (that is to the side of the entrance and not easily noticed by toddlers). I will definitely be visiting again!
Wonderful small Museum :-) the employees there were very nice!
Very clean, lots of information and kid friendly!!! The kids loved the activities in the lobby.
This is a nice free little Museum. There's not much to it but the one-room they have is packed with skeletons. I'd recommend when you're done with this Museum buy a ticket for the electric trolley car that picks up just outside the museum. It runs in an oval and only takes a little over 10 minutes or so to complete the circuit it's a nice little trip around town and it will drop you right back where you started
We took our son and nephew here and they had a blast. It's small but it has a lot for them to do. Their displays are very interesting and definitely catch your eye. It was an extra bonus that admission was free. We will most definitely be back!
Got kids with a short attention span or only have 10 minutes to spend, this is the place. The museum has two areas to enjoying for FREE. Donations are welcome and needed. The main floor contains several dinosaurs and a basement holds an area for kids to do activities and watch paleontologists at work getting fossils into show quality. Currently they are working on a Triceratops skull.
My son loves dinosaurs and he loved it here. Even i though it was soo...cool.
GREAT FOR KIDS AND INTERACTIVE
Great little museum. It's the perfect size for taking our toddler, who is all about dinosaurs right now. The children's activities were great too.
Fun but small
It was a small museum and free. There were a few nice areas for the children to play.
Great for the kids, small but with age appropriate activities. The main exhibit has sensors that activate animal/dinosaur noises, this may scare the little ones
Even though it's small, it's free, all they ask for is a donation. They also have little activities for children plus there's a cool dinosaur statue in the front. My two year old had a blast looking at the dinosaur bones and pretending to dig up bones.
Great place to take kids. Though there are no handicap ramps in the front there is an accessible elevator in the back. Though relatively small, they pack a bunch of skeleton casts into what area they do have.
Got to see real dinosaur bones...
Great dino lover area. Has a bunch of skeletons, and a lab in the basement to watch them work on the artifacts. Not to forget the little gift shop, penny press, and its a donation museum. So its technically free. But if youre planning a trip, it doesnt hurt to contribute something to help with their costs.
It's fine I guess its nothing to spectacular or should be noted
On Street parking, even though they had some interesting displays it was housed in only one room. 45 minutes and we were done.
Excellent for dinosaur enthusiasts. Well worth the visit. Will definately return.
More of a exhibit than a museum
Such a fun little place with interactive games.
Nice and small for young kids. My daughter loved it
Activities for the kids. Not busy or crowded at all.
Great place to visit with small kids
Small, but ideal for young children.
They are great for learning and song how big the dinosaurs really are.
Really fun exhibit. My grandkids loved it.
Great option for kids who doesn't like dinosaurs
Very nice and educational for the kids and adults. Love the building and it's history
Awesome free dinosaur museum with very unique pieces you can learn quite a bit.
Great for kids who LOVE dinosaurs! (And adults
Definitely worth going to if you are in the area. Our group of three adults and one toddler spent about an hour here, but you could definitely spent a couple hours looking at everything. Suggested donation was $3 which I thought was very reasonable. It's in a very cool old building (guess it used to be the old post office). But it's not much of a museum. Really it's just one big room with dinosaur skeletons.
Kids loved it.
It's a very small museum, but has a lot to offer. The area with the assembled dinosaur skeletons was very well organized, and the plaques very interesting and informative. There were two volunteers in the children's area and they explained everything very well. My daughter and I both had a lot of fun!
Grate place for kids, Small donation per person. Grate place for a quick adventure.
My granddaughter likes going here.
Awesome
I've been coming here since I was a little kid. I still remember watching stop-motion films projected in the basement 35 years ago. It has just enough stuff to see before your kids lose interest. The activity room has toys and colorings.
The lady at the front door was cold and basically demanded money. The museum was small. It's a 1 and done kind of thing. It only took my 3 kids and myself an hour tops..we visited a year ago.
It's a must see!!!! I personally love it...and will return in the near future.....
The fossil collection room is impressive, but crowded. My kids loved digging for fossils, doing puzzles, and reading picture books at the reading spot. This is a great place for a quick toddler visit.
Small, but great.
Son loved it! Would be nice if there were more exhibits
My family was thoroughly impressed. Especially given that Kenosha is not a huge town, this is a pretty cool collection. While it may not take you a day to tour, it is still very interesting and informative. The available kids activities are also great, my sons loved exploring around and learning about dinosaurs. All the staff were friendly as well.
Great place for a quick stop.
Great place to take young kids and see amazing dinosaurs. Right off the street car route, so just one great place to visit.
Great place! My 5yr old is a huge Dinosaur fan and loves going there. Everyone is always so nice.
Great little Museum
Very nice museum, has some fun for kids
Not as big as the website makes it seem. 3 year old loved it! Strollers have to enter through the back to take an elevator up.
A little small but it's free! Kids get to see the dinosaurs pretty close up. Don't forget to go downstairs and do the fossil dig and dinosaur coloring! Lady downstairs could be a little more friendlier with the kids tho! Didn't seem like she liked her job what so ever lol
Great museum for a day trip, free parking and admission. Nice exhibits and interactive zones for kids.
An impressive collection of dinosaurs. Learned a lot. If I had kids I would definitely take them here.
Small museum but lots of cool fossils! One major display with neat facts.
It was very interesting. Kids loved it!
Very nice set up, especially for children!
I take my son here whenever I can. He loves dinosaurs
We loved it!!
While small, this museum had a compelling collection and presentation of dinosaur skeletons. I enjoyed having so many skeletons in close proximity to one another, as it was much easier to compare them. My family managed to stay at the museum for quite a while despite it being relatively small. It's also awesome that this museum is free!
Fun little dinosaur museum. Not a huge collection, but the staff is very helpful and friendly. They have a number of interactive exhibits for little kids. Great way to kill an hour with kids under 5. Free!
Seeing the dinosaurs was a lot of fun and very interesting. I especially liked seeing Suchomimus.
My kids really enjoyed this museum. They were not bored!
It was very nice but you need more things to do for the children
Love dinosaurs? This place is great for you and your kids. Plus it's my favorite price. Free!
Free museum. There is a kids area and a little store. Small, but very interesting. You have to read about the dinosaur of course. Nice place.
My son loved it. Wish they had the ability to expand their facility.
Was in the area and saw that it was open. It's small but for a free museum I can't complain. Not sure if I would drive from Milwaukee just for the museum but being in town already I am pretty happy with it.
Kids will love this museum.
Great place to go if your child is into dinosaurs, my nephew had so much fun when we came and visited would 10/10 go again
Very kid friendly. Museum made it fun to learn about the extinct.
Such a great experience, friendly well knowledged staff , amazing exhibits our kids loved it as we did too. Admission was free as well ! A must do for the area !
It was really fun for my nephew to see the fossils in person! He had a great time!
Nice display, kids love it.
Awesome, so cool and informative for the kids.
This place is really small. Not much 2 look @. Alot of the equipment didn't work. It's pretty clean and nice just needs a little more excitement.
The kids loved it. And the custodians were so nice.
Fantastic small museum! It is free admission and is two rooms. My son enjoyed the museum and was informative and quick. A great place to stop if you are in the area.
Great place to bring kids!
My Grandson loves Dinosaurs and he was amazed with the activities and fun! It was our first time, but wont be our last time!
A gem in Southeastern Wisconsin! This place is wonderful! It's in a historic, beautiful building, with large beautiful steps similar to a capital building. There is an elevator enterence around back for handicapped or strollers. The Dinosaur showcase room has an enormous vaulted ceiling starring a unique collection of eye struck Dinosaurs of every size. When you walk into the building taking the front steps, to your left is a cute, little gift shop, then all the way to your right is an excellent learning Center, play area for kids. Interactive games, fossil digs, etc... Walk down stairs and you see an interactive classroom and a dino lab. Our whole family loves this place!
Nice exibit and very imformational. They take donations for admission which makes it affordable for everyone. I will definitly return.
Really neat place! Very small, but really interesting display that walks you through the dinosaur timeline. Be sure to go to the lower level education center, where you can also see into the university paleontology lab.
Awesome hidden gem. If you like dinos, this is the place to be!
Small nice place.... Basement is kinda of smelled but overall is good.
It is small, local, and free! For what it does offer, it is a great quality Museum. They suggest a $3 donation, and I don't think that is too bad. But as in most dinosaur museums it presents the millions of years as fact and not as a theory which bothers me.
This is a nice place to take children interested in dinosaurs, but it is very small. There is only one room of dinosaur bones. It is very cool, but too crowded. It would be nice for them to be spread out more. I recognize the building doesn't allow for that. They have added some cool kid friendly activities in the front hallway like a pit to excavate bones and puzzles.
We always love visiting the dinosaur museum! We were a little sad that they got rid of the excavation area in the kids activity center, but we still had fun.
Always fun with the kids
small but interesting, and free! the gift shop is cute
Small, but fun, great dinosaur diorama! Awesome
A nice, but very small collection of dinosaur casts, with some fun hands on exhibits too. You can see and do everything there in an hour, so don't plan on it being a full day event. The exhibits mostly focus on the evolution of dinosaurs to birds.
When I went with my sister and her granddaughter to see the Dinosaur Museum the staff was wonderful handicap accessory guess shop was nice I kept it at Four Star Plus
For younger kids 4-7 I'd say. You can read everything within an hour.
Cute little museum for kids. $3 suggestioned donation. Kids can dress up as paleontologists and discover bones. Some other exhibits and things to do.
My 4 year old nephew had a blast. There are a lot of kid friendly, hands on activities to keep your children occupied. My 11 year old on the other hand was bored pretty fast. The staff is nice and the dinosaurs are cool. Make sure you bring some money for the gift shop.
Had a wonderful time here. It was amazing
Very cool little museum! Loved the display! Nice staff!
My daughter loved it!! Worth the stop.
The greatest place to see Stan the T-Rex. Take the kids or go by yourself it's beautiful and informative. Friendly staff and engagingly active.
Very informative inactive for children. Layman term for anyone to understand how to do the digs
Very cool display but just one room.
Small but fun stuff for kids to do with some impressive dinosaur displays and it's free but I recommend donating!
The worker could be more helpful. Other then that it work a ok place to see. I was told it is one of the biggest dinosaur museum. So we drive 3 hrs to go see it. When we got there it was very small. The kids enjoyed seeing the dinosaur.
This is a great place to take your children and learn about dinosaurs. There is a dedicated"excavation" area where kids can discover and extricate fossils. The main exhibit hall contains a variety of dinosaurs in all shapes and sizes. We enjoyed taking our grandson here.
As the ad states, the largest collection of carnivores in one room. Yes, it's a small museum and yes, you get what you pay for. I rather enjoyed seeing the students from carthage working on cleaning fossils
Came down from Milwaukee to check it out. Had a lot of fun. It's small, but super cool to see.
Very cool, my son really enjoyed it.
Kids ages 6 and 8 had a good time! Gift shop was a little pricey for the quality of items but all in all, a nice place to visit.
It was free and great for the kids. We donated some money to help make sure it stays open. I would recommend it with or without kids to at least check out.
Small museum, but it's free, and a nice place for kids
Kids had fun looking around! We wished kr was a little bit bigger but all in all we still had a great time.
My daughter got to be a dinosaur for the day, the sweetest thing. They have a digging spot for the kids with safety goggles and brushes to find dinosaurs in the sand. Very beautiful dinosaur fossils right here in Kenosha, larger than life! My daughter had an excellent time in the classroom and we were very surprised at how much stuff they fit in that tiny gift shop. There has been a lot of development since first opened and I am very impressed.
Very small but very cool. My kids loved it. It took about an hour to go through. Very beautiful building... it was interesting learning about it. There are blueprints for the original purpose (postoffice) downstairs by the bathroom.
This museum has come a long way since it gust opened. To fully enjoy the museum, make sure to visit their website and download the activity pack to search for items and fill in the blanks. You also get to see a real paleontologist at work downstairs!
This is a fun couple of hours for the kids. Mine really liked the "hands on" activities. I liked the old architecture of the building itself.
Awesome for my 5 year old. Perfect activity for bad weather or days with limited time. Could use a change up or maybe a revamp as has been the same for past 2-3 years but still great place. Donation based admission only, thanks carthage.
Very good display of dino skeletons. 1 hour is long enough for adults. There were other kid activities we did not do.
We took our son and nephew here and they had a blast. It's small but it has a lot for them to do. Their displays are very interesting and definitely catch your eye. It was an extra bonus that admission was free. We will most definitely be back!
Interesting. More than you would expect.
What a pleasant surprise... We came to Kenosha for a race and came across the museum. A very friendly man met us as we came in... We spent about 30 minutes looking around.
Free museum (donation suggested), with cool fossil display.
One of the Kenosha hidden jems! There are often opportunities to interact with an actual paleontologist who are happy to teach more, even to the younger kids. Events are held including a night viewing with a fantastic tour and explanation of different characteristics of the dinos and activities are done at various times of the year to interest younger kids including mock fossil digs and outdoor games. The staff is active, involved, and informative. My only wish is that there was more room for this museum to grow.
Our kids love this place! Where else can you see dinosaur skeletons (real or replica), kid friendly demo dig site, palentology lab in the basement; all for free (donations are appreciated)! A great find close to many other Kenosha attractions: trolley, lake front, museums, & seasonal farmers market.
Great pit stop! Free and lots of FUN!
Very cool to see dinasours and everything. Not as big as I expected though.
My daughter loved this place!! My parents took her a separate time as well so I am so glad there are places like this in town that are educational and fun! I look forward to going back again with her someday soon.
This place is quite unique! Not very large but they make the most of the space they have. Very interesting history with the building itself as it used to be the post office, it is a very beautiful building! Free admission with a suggested $3 donation, we happily paid as they are a smaller museum I imagine they do not have the financial backing the larger ones in town do. Great place to bring the family!
Kids really enjoyed the dinosaurs, digging up the bones n to play with them n puzzle dinosaurs also. I just wld like to have more diff kinds of dinosaurs as well. Very friendly staff, especially the woman who explained the bones of one in Carthage section to my kids while setting up for a party.
Very small, not much to do with real small kids, but still very cool. And free.
Really educative and one can understand about Dinosaur and their origin. Children get to feel the various types of Dinosaur .
There's not a lot of meat on these bones... there's one display. And a kid area with a fossil dig pit. If you're there in Kenosha, it's FREE! And there is a old-time trolley car that runs to other museums and a picturesque lighthouse.
Wonderful place for children. Small, but very cool!
Very small, but very cute. The fossil room is impressive even for adults.
Love the hands on areas for the kids! This is a really cool place. Will be recommending this museum to everyone
This is a cute little museum. It's only two rooms and an activity center in the basement but you can't complain because it is free (donations are encouraged). There was even an area the kids could pretend to dig up fossils.
It's free. And has dinosaurs. What more can I want out of life? The kids loved it (ages 5 and 7) and couldn't believe the amazing dinosaurs!
It's fine... There is basically only one big room with bones and a few other smaller displays, but what they have in the big room was pretty impressive.
