great place to visit with family .you can learn a lot about human culture and livelihood . staffs were very friendly .They were conducting scavenger hunt that was super fun :) its 1.5 hours from Minneapolis so you can plan for small road trip. :) :)

Nice museum highlighting the history of the Chippewa Valley. Permanent exhibits include logging, farming and native peoples. Special exhibits are also rotated through periodically. Admission is reasonable. Takes a couple hours to see it. Longer if you also check out the Logging Camp.

A spectacular museum for its size. Great place to learn about the history of Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley! There is a huge farm life exhibit.

It's a smaller museum but very accesible as it is on one floor. The exhibits are well labled/ organized. I've gone in school settings and on my own, there is really such a good amount of information that more than one trip is needed to take it all in. They've done well to cover many subjects in Eau Claire history. There is even specific areas of interest for younger people and an ice cream parlor and "Object Theater".

On our way to Minneapolis , pit stop to this museum was good. Lovely staff. Great historical display. You will learn alot about the settlers and natives. Short walk through but worth it.

History. Amazing tales from the past of the Chippewa Valley. they have an ice cream shoppe! classes for kids and adults. staff is extremely friendly. you can browse photos of the area through the years, and purchase copies of them. a real hidden treasure. bunburyist approved

My daughter and niece had a blast most of the pictures are of my sister-in-law and twin but we had a blast. And not only that but the gift shop and ice cream were all fairly priced.
