This Museum is classified in the category of Children\'s museum.
My kids love it. Their favorite spaces are the bark house and the grocery store. I love the big treehouse. Great addition to the community and they put on great events and parties. Very reasonable admission prices, well worth it.
Great stop for our family while on vacation in the area. The kids played for a couple hours, enjoyed all the different things to do and learn from.
It was fun but way overpriced. It's about 1/8 the size of the Madison Children's Museum and almost TRIPLE the price!
Son loves it.
Small space and some of the rooms could use a bit more narrative to explain the theme; e.g., the fish tank with plastic cockroaches was a bit baffling. Otherwise a great space that kept my kids entertained for a few hours - well worth the price of admission.
Can’t remember being here.
A great place for young children! I prefer it over the big one in Madison which is over Crowded and busy
This is such a neat addition to this small town! They have fantastic displays! Lots of neat projects and things to play with! My kids are 9 and 7 and they found went to keep them busy. This is a true gem! The bathrooms we're a bit dirty, but when you have that many littles in a small place..what do you expect?
Loved it. My kids could spend all day here if I let them.
Our 10 year old grandkid loves it. All sorts of activities and climbing structures with educational value.
This place is awesome!
Great place to take the kids
Sweet place and it's always changing!
Fun fun! So much to do here for kids!
Great place for kids to explore learn and burn off extra energy.
Great value. $6 for kids. They are open again after the flooding. A lot of things to do. Not too busy, even on a Saturday. We will definitely be back
Fun, small place for kids to play indoors. Could be bigger though. Well organized
So much fun for young kids!
If you have gone to the Madison Children’s Museum, this place will be fun - but it is much smaller. My comparison between the two locations will end there. My boys loved it as a change of pace from what they were used to in Madison. Although the facility has two floors, one floor is dedicated to birthday parties, the main floor is the museum. There are some cool exhibits there that my boys loved: the grocery store (see included image), the ETC light exhibit, wooden train area and Lego area, the slide and the climbing area.
Ages 9, 6 and 2. They all loved it!
Great way to spend an afternoon with the kiddos.
Love this place, we had an amazing time with my 4yr olds birthday party here. The staff were great and extremely helpful.
wonderful place for young children our 3 year old and his little buddy had a great time
We were there for the Grand Opening yesterday and were very impressed with the Children's Museum. Black Earth is a pretty small town, so the museum is smaller than most museums of its kind, but the space was very well used and beautifully laid out. There are plenty of options for the youngest kids, and some exhibits that will keep the 6-10 year old kids busy for a couple hours. I am not sure above that, I could see some things appealing to the 11-12 year old group but nothing above, but it seems like they are working on options in the future. They have the room for it too. Overall, really enjoyed the Black Earth Children's Museum, I think it really brings a youthful and modern feel to the small town of Black Earth. Hopefully this is just the beginning!
For being in a small town this children museum is one of a kind. It has more the 8 different sections and topics that could provide your lid with fun for hours.
What a great place to take children. Our grandson had a great time in his 2 nd birthday.
Small space used very well! Because it's small, it's easy to let go kids just play where they want without worrying you'll lose one! Price is very reasonable.
It is amazing its not super chaotic like the children's museum in Madison the people who work there are extremely nice everything is a lot more creative it's not as big as the Madison Children's Museum but it is still more creative and more fun for children to play at are you tired of chasing your child around then go to the Black Earth children museum like I said less chaotic more creative and more fun
There is always something going on here for the kids. I'm really glad this place is available!
Many themed rooms to explore, two treehouses to climb, a pond to fish in, smaller rooms for different activities in them. Space for parties as well. It was very clean and the staff were nice.
Lots of brain stimulating activities for the smaller building size of other children's museums in this part of Wisconsin. I would say this is probably the best out of them all. Everything feels safe for children and it's not as stressful as some of the other places. There is even a soft play area for babies that we noticed when taking our eleven month old. The constellation room is really neat for children that have never had a chance to see a planetarium. If you are stopping through Black Earth, do yourself a favor and take the kiddos here, they will sleep the rest of the drive.
Great place. Lots to do to keep the kids busy. Very clean. Only 4 stars due to asking the guy at the front where something was on the scavenger hunt and he didn't know. Kids were disappointed..
I so recomened it...GREAT For kids Birthdays !!!
My 3 kids age 7,6,4 and I all had a wonderful time at the Black Earth Children’s Museum over winter break! Great membership price, as well as a great local business. The kids kept entertained and did not want to leave and I felt safer not having to keep my eye on each one of them every single minute. It’s smaller but it’s worth the trip out to Black Earth! Recommend.
Great educational play place for kids, with a beautiful Wisconsin theming, I fishing, tree forts, marshland, cave and night sky areas. The exhibits don't end there though, they've also included a grocery store, science experiment and building areas. Such a wonderful place to take the kids and host birthdays as well!
Great place for kids to explore, friendly people. More exhibits forthcoming, will take our grandkids back for a visit.
Great for children, safe, clean, educational, and fun. Exhibits encourage creativity and problem solving.
We bought the year pass. Very fun place for the kids, the craft room always has new things going on.
Beautiful, fun, and interactive displays. Very clean and a joy to visit! Will return soon!
Their space is small but they've got quite a bit packed in here. Very cherry, colorful atmosphere, which is uplifting on a dreary winter day. Their very small kids play area was well laid out with accesible activities for the littlest ones...unfortunately there we're a bunch of older children playing rowdily when I was in this area, so my almost 1 year old did not get to play for long. One down side to this place is that they are a small organization so they don't have a lot of staff to fix things when they break or get damaged. There we're a handful of activities that we could not use because they were damaged. The flying squirrels were a hit.
Came with our two 5 year old grandsons and they couldn't wait to show us each room. Really creative and fun.
My 1 yr old loved it.. lots of fun
It's very nice and has a good variety of areas.
Had so much fun
Very nice place for children to go and play. Located in Black Earth, WI, its easier for us to get to. Will go again.
I have a 3yo and a 7yo and they both have a blast here. There is only enough things to keep my kids occupied for about 30-45 minutes. We bought a membership, which makes for a great value for many short trips to the museum.
Grandkids loved the market and the stage and the train areas the best!
Love the Black Earth Children's Museum!! For a small town this is Very Nice! The rooms are separated, there is an Art Room off set from the play area and there is a room for Babies!
Kids love it.
Madison's children's museum pales in comparison to this place.
Wonderful place for children
My daughters (1 and 5) love it here! It's a great mood of activities without being too large - I feel totally comfortable letting the 5yo go of by herself while baby sis plays in the toddler space. Also, Evie recently took part in an art class offered in the upstairs studio - she had a blast and was so proud of the piece she created!
Kids love it and it is quite manageable with only one story. We easily can spend 2+ hours here.
Nice place for indoor fun with small children. My 6 year old and 2 year old were very entertained for a good 3 hours! Parking is easy too
Friendly staff & fun exhibits. My 1 year old loves the farm room and the music area.
Really nice children’s museum considering how small the town is. Definitely worth a drive from the Madison area.
Cute children's museum. Creative play designs. Manageable size compared to for example the children's museum.in downtown Madison
Small but growing
This place is such a little gem! Kids had a blast and I even had a little fun. Plenty to do and a great way to spend the morning or afternoon. Wish we had a place like this back in our hometown.
This is a clean, quaint children's museum. It's a great size for babies and young children. My daughter (10 Months) and niece and nephew (2 and 3 years) all had a great time.
Small but has a lot of great stuff for kiddos to do. Play areas are very high quality and well thought out. A few of the musical instruments were broken and one of the displays was under construction but otherwise it was nice.
This is an amazing museum! Very toddler friendly
It's small but has a lot of stuff to keep the kids busy. Just be on the lookout for parents who don't supervise their own kids closely - they are not a rare occurrence here.
What a great little gem! Love this place because of the Wisconsin education emphasis. So affordable and a great place to spend and afternoon with the kids.
A great place for young kids to explore and play
Amazing place to entertain younger kids when the weather outside is less than pleasant. Everything from toddler entertainment to educational exhibits for elementary kids. Great spot in a small town and worth the yearly membership.
Good place to take kids and not have the hassle of downtown Madison
i have personally been a worker here since they started and it is the coolest thing i have ever helped with
There are lots of fun children's activities packed into this little museum! My 3-year-old and 6-year-old both found plenty to do for the two hours we spent there.
Lots of fun, interesting activities. My 3.5 yr old had a blast.
This place is a gem. $6 admission, lots of great exhibits for a range of ages. There's always something new.
Small but many different exhibits to keep a toddler occupied
Great place to bring the kids, and they have free wifi! The noodle wacky wetland area is a blast. You can see that there are plans to bring in more activity centers in the future.
Fun place, my 3 year old loved it. Will definitely return.
Great little children's museum. Not as crowded as those in the city. Looking forward to many years of watching them grow!
This place was so cool! The kids had so much fun and we're never bored. Very informative too.
Fun place at a fair price. Can get a bit crowded at peak times. As with any place like this things get broken due to parents not supervising so sometimes things aren't working or missing.
Great place for the kid to play around a little small but plenty of things to do!
My five-year-old rates it we're going there again. He liked the tree house and the really fun fishing area. It was small, but they were many different play areas. One very unique feature was a farm with play hens that actually had spots for eggs inside.
Nice place. It was odd that they were doing remodeling and remained open while doing it. The drills and saws and such were deafening and freaked my kid out. If that wasnt happening it wpuld be great
Good place for kids to learn while they play.
Loved our time thete. There is a nice variety of things to do
Great for a few hours of kid entertainment and imagination play! Fun and colorful with lots of different themed rooms. My kids had a blast. We will go back for sure.
Smaller than Madison's museum but very well-done. Seems to be aimed at a more-closely-defined age group, toddler to maybe age seven. An art room and a rope bridge! Very nice city park just one block away (playground, tables, shelter, flush toilets) if you want to make a picnic day of it :-)
Very fun children's museum with lots of little areas to explore. Also a nice little area for infants to play. Our 3 year old and 9 month old both had fun.
My 5 year old son loved it! Great placd
What a great little place ! Wonderful
This place is amazing! Be prepared to spend hours there.
So fun on a weekday, not busy. Haven't been on a weekend.
Amazing place for kids to explore for a few hours!
Opening up more soon but now its nice for a few hours
So much fun for all ages!! It will bring out the kid in parents too!!
Amazing space for young children to explore and learn!
Great children's museum
