My family and a group of close friends all traveled about an hour and half to Potosi on Labor Day. The place was packed with people at the front door and the hostess told us an hour wait before we would be seated. Even though they had open seats in the bar area and outside. We waited outside for about 40 minutes only to find out they where not seating anyone. The hostess kept telling us it would be another 20-30 minutes. Finally, my wife got an answer from the hostess explaining she was told to not seat anyone due to the kitchen being backed up with orders. In other words they had zero help and no control of the restaurant. They could of been honest and turned us away at the door instead of wasting our time. It is really sad, I live about an hour and half away and am always willing to travel to the Potosi brewery for the food, beer, and the museum. After this experience I will not be returning.

$5 for museum. Plan on 2 hours to see it all. If you're in a rush, 30 minutes would be enough to see - but not not read - the displays. 75% is display cases filled with "collectors items" from various breweries (displays are rotated). 25% is neat artifacts from mostly defunct breweries. The museum is not in any way Potosi biased or centered - I don't recall anything of theirs in the museum. If you time it right (in the fall: Saturday & Sunday only, very specific start times - likely more often in summer) for $12 you can see the museum, join a tour of the brewery which includes samples, a full sized beer glass to take home, and a full glass of beer at the bar. It is worth it. That adds about an hour and is worth the time & cost.

Fun little tour in Potosi to learn about the rich heritage of American beer producers. Something to see in every direction. Self guided. Multiple floors, you could spend hours here and not see everything.

Well Worth Seeing! I have taken a few brewery tours, but the museum is different. Although not exceptionally large, there is an excellent collection of advertising, marketing items (foam scrapers), and historical photos. The museum showcases more than just the Potosi Brewery. Sufficient parking. Family friendly. Handicap friendly. Clean restrooms.

Fun experience learned a lot about the Brewing process. The tour guide was a little misinformed. You said that the brewery closed in 1972 to send the corn in the wheat overseas for the war effort. I don't remember Vietnam receiving any corn or wheat from Wisconsin. The brewery was awesome they showed us every aspect of the Brewing process from the cooking of the mall the Hops to the brewing and the shipping

Great food, great service, great beer. 13 tap beer to choose from, and reasonably priced flights at $8. The bar is beautiful, and the restaurant is very clean. Wish it was closer to Minneapolis.

Interesting items to see. Food and beer mediocre at best. Not worth traveling out of your way for.
