This place is exceptional. One of the best museums I've ever been to. They have something for everybody and you can spend as much time as you like. We went also for the Apollo exhibit which is a temporary exhibit. It was done exceptionally well and had many original artifacts from the Apollo 11. The World War 1 and 2 exhibits are phenomenal and tell many personal stories of people from the local area. All of the aircraft are replicated as if they were brand new. The hangar across the street has many Boeing aircraft that you can walk through and see the inside. Included in this is a 747, 787, Air Force One from the 1960s, and Air France Concorde to name a few. Would certainly return to this place!

peterandcigdem

They have a great deal for active duty military! Saw the temporary Apollo 11 exhibit, that was cool! Ever since I was a child, my favorite part of the experience has always been sitting in the F/A 18 cockpit! The world war one and ww2 exhibits were tasteful and thorough! There's lots to see, and I appreciated the expansion across the street, though seems heavy on the airliners, which may be less interesting (to some) than the fighter jets which seem to have been relegated to the corner. Overall, glad were took our family, and will be back when they're older and more able to appreciate the significance of what they're looking at.

Valeriya Ternopolski

Awesome museum! The VR experience is short but fun nevertheless. The museum itself is informative and interactive. Make sure to make use of the volunteers standing close to entrance; ours gave us an awesome history lesson!

Rachael Indian

This place is amazing. It's a must see. I went in Kennedy's last plane ride home...it was an unreal experience....the advancement of our technology is mind boggling

S Mock

Sooo much here. Detailed descriptions of all aircraft. Many older exhibits and features that still function too. The space exploration exhibit is fascinating. And your kids will love the space that is used for paper airplanes.

Maureen Startin

One of the best experiences of my life!!! Having watched the Apollo landing when it occurred made it that much more exciting.

Austin Su

The museum was great and there were lots of planes to see. It isn't as boring as it seems. It even has an older air force one. If you have one of the reciprocal memberships then you can go there for free. It isn't as big as the one in Washington DC and the one in Virginia but I still spent a good 2 hrs there

David Bernstein

Visiting the Seattle area, and am very happy we made this a stop! It is worth a visit for any aerospace and flight aficionado. Amazing displays you may not see anywhere else, such as a retired Air Force One and Concorde aircraft. One thing to watch out for is the museum is a bit out of the way from downtown. It is at an airport not far from SeaTac, which makes perfect sense, but requires a little planning if one doesn't have a car.

Katya Finegold

Interesting museum. We cane here for a special event and had only 40min to explore until it was closed, I think you can spend a whole day here, just exploring the planes. Will definitely come back!

Naomi Osborn

Wow! So much to see! We got to go into some airplanes of significance, like a Concord and the fastest jet plane! Great deal with our Connections tickets.

Kathleen Mejia

Extensive museum with some hands on experiences. Planetarium shows and simulators. You can even get in the cockpit of a couple planes for an awesome photo op. There is so much to see here you'll need a full day and then some. Cafe and bookstore is pretty nice as well. We love this place and attend Being Connections night to get free admission for our kiddos til they are 18!

Charles Brown

Similarly to most museums in the Seattle area, there's a fee for admission and additional fees for the more interactive activities and exclusive exhibits. Great overall experience.

Valentina Salas

This museum is incredibly fun! I've been here many times. You get to see many exhibits related to the history of flight development, stories from WW2, Vietnam, thr development of new technology to aid the US military forces as well as commercial flights. Amazing views of planes all day long, the food is pretty good for a museum, expect the typical burger - pretzel menu though.

Neeraj Singh

What a place. We have spent an entire day but still not able to cover all full museum. So many airplanes are there. The history is there about aviation. I will definitely go back again. So much I have learned there. Apollo 11 was there when we visited. It was the best part. 3d movie that we watch about going beyond our solar system was very informative. Fee for entry as well is not so expensive and all other extra things are actually worth it. Must visit place if you are visiting or live in Seattle.

Robin Spisak

Awesome time at the museum. Saw the "Destination Moon" exhibit. The Apollo 11 command module was on display and a moon rover. 50 years since the moon landing. Free on site parking. Bring your walking shoes. Fun for one or the whole family. Worth the visit.

Chris Garris

Long lines to just get in. Long lines at the Cafe... To long to even wait. A million kids everywhere, very hard to navigate all the screaming kids. The museum is great but can be impossible to enjoy if it's a school visit day. Paid for some extras I couldn't take advantage of because of long lines. All picnic tables outside occupied by school groups.

S Lamson

Great Museum,,, Took about 3 hours to go through everything. Varied planes starting from the Wright Brothers, all the way to the Space Shuttle... With a bit of everything in between. There are interactive things there also that cost extra * i.e. you can pilot a simulation.. They also have a gift shop and cafe.. all for $25.00 per adult.. discounts for Military, AAA, etc.

Trevor Gregorio

Where do I start?... Boeing has the layout set up quit nicely. You have something for every age group here. You have seminars about the work that goes on in post crash analysis, you have flight simulators, there's information on commercial and war planes alike, and right across the street is more museum! It's worth the cost, but I do recommend going on a day with a seminar to learn something neat from an expert in aviation. The gift shop is expensive, though.

Phillip Lloyd

What can you say when your experience is filled with amazing historical aviation, an in-depth tour of Air Force One with your 7 year old son, all topped off by a personal witness and meet and greet of the Blue Angels! What an amazing place!

James Yang

It was interesting seeing so much! There was so much to see. I couldn't finish in one day. Definitely need one more day to see it all! Great place for all ages to visit.

Wendy Whitaker

Loved this museum, plan to spend at least 3 hours. So much to see. 6 and 8 year old lived kids area.

Lyndon Vidrine

This is an amazing museum and the best air and space museum I've visited (aside from the Smithsonian). Many of the planes exhibited outside can be toured. Our kids enjoyed seeing the historical aircraft. I was pleasantly surprised to see how engaging the exhibits are for younger children, allowing them to appreciate air and space history and science at their level.

RebeccaBeans 4

Wonderful museum with so much to see. Planes for kids to climb in. Lots of educational experiences and really fun gift shop.

Shea Smith

This museum is really well put together and has a ton of information! We didn’t spend nearly enough time here as we had a flight to catch. However, you could easily spend a whole day going through all the exhibits.

Myriam M

We love this place! It's a lot of fun to walk around with kids of all ages (5 in this case). There's so much to look at!

Elizabeth Gassner

If you're a history of flight, you will love the exhibits, and even be able to walk into a few. There are friendly and knowledgeable volunteers available. The museum takes you through the time of early flight to space. There is also the Red Barn that is the start of Boeing and its growth. Your visit will take hours! There is a cafe with good food. The gift shop is also worth a visit. And for those accompanying a flight enthusiast, there are lots of places to sit and relax.

Nathen Harper

I have lived in the Seattle area since i was a child and had never been here. Went with my wife and kids for Fathers Day and LOVED IT! We were there open to close and walked through every part but was only able to take in a portion. There is just so much to see, read, discover. We will be going back over and over as the exibits evolve. Destination Moon was fantastic. If you have a chance to go before its gone its the only West coast installation for the exhibit.

Rachel Heineman

Really cool, the space exhibit especially, really learned a lot and just all around fun. There some things you can go inside of too. Cafe is good. Their salad with the fruit is amazing. Gift shop is good. The outside one with all the buge planes are cool, you can go inside a retired Air Force 1. And military gets in free!!

Charlie Megia

I signed up for a captains membership because of the Apollo 11 exhibit. It was all worth every penny of my membership. It brought back childhood memories of the mission. Waiting late night in the Philippines to watch the launch and being glued to the TV as Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon. Fifty years later I was able to see the real thing.

Derek Ly

Wow. What can I say? This place is just absolutely amazing. I think everyone needs to go here to enjoy this amazing museum! The different types of flight rooms that they had were just astonishing. The red barn (pre-history of Aviation) had numerous history lessons of the Wright Brothers, Lockheed and Martin, and other numerous aviation personnel's that heavily contributed to the advancements of aerospace. The WWI and WWII planes on display were simply amazing and filled with information. My favorite exhibit was hands down the space exhibit, located across the bridge of the museum. Of the 2 hours that we were inside of the museum, I think I spent close to an hour JUST being in the space portion. There was a huge mock-up of the shuttle on display. Also, outside of the space exhibit were all of the larger planes. This was definitely another awesome section that everyone needs to come see. Anyway, Museum of Flight was definitely a great experience! Fun for the family and for dates :)

Jill Gardner

Very well put together. Lots to see and even though there were tons of people I never felt crowded. The Apollo 11 exhibit was unexpectedly emotional but really informative. Benches strategically placed to take a break once in a while.

Dean Price

So enjoyed this place!!! All the different areas displaying separate eras of Boeing's history. From the "Red Barn" beginnings, through both World Wars and Vietnam, the Space Shuttle and more. The outdoor pavilion was very enjoyable as you can go inside several planes including the Concorde,Air Force One,and a 787 Dreamliner.

John G

Recommended. I've been there three times with three different groups of people and we enjoyed it every time. You can explore and learn more about the history of aviation, there are several model and real planes. Maybe the best part is that you can get inside some of the big planes even an older Air Force one. Tip: wear comfy shoes as you can easily spend 3-4 hours exploring the museum.

Ginnie Joubert

Very LARGE museum with lots to see! We also did the moon exhibit which was there at the time we went and that was a neat little add on. Being able to go through the planes was awesome as well! There is so much to learn and so much to see! Put it on your lists of things to do when visiting Seattle! Especially if you're into flying and museums in general!

Craig Lutz

The museum of flight provides an extensive history of the progression of commercial air service (and space travel). Walking through the exhibits, you get a great sense of the history of airline travel and it's evolution. The extensive display of airplanes that you can tour makes for a fun outing. The feeling you get when you walk through the Concord sst (which travelled at 1500 mile per hour) makes you wish you could've flown on it.

Miss Peeved

I went to air space museum in Washington DC when I was there last year. It was the same as the previous 2 occasions I visited. By contrast, I liked Museum of Flight a lot more although we had to pay quite a lot to visit. We enjoyed the way that the historic old bombers were displayed and I loved being able to board the Concorde and other cool planes in the hangar. It was also cool to be able to sit in a cockpit of a fighter jet!! A wonderful experience that I would highly recommend. I do wish it was more convenient to get to from the airport. We had to take the airlink for one stop then change to the bus. It's really inconvenient with big luggage bags in tow, but that was the most convenient way we could fit this museum into our itinerary. Thankfully the museum has a cloak room where we could store our luggage while poking around the museum! Museum cafe food was also mediocre and very overpriced. The staff were nice though and the atmosphere /location was quite good.

Seth Banks

This place is an aviation nerd's DREAM! The tour guide volunteers are all retired industry professionals in some capacity who have a vast knowledge of aviation and airplanes and are suuuuuuper friendly. Their permanent collection is pretty large. I spent an entire day just on the indoor exhibits and still couldn't cover everything. I really need to get back here some time and see their outdoor displays. If you enjoy aviation history, this is an absolute must see.

David Wade

Loved it! Not expensive and a great way to spend a day if you're an aviation or space buff. Tons of stuff to keep the kids entertained, they do a great job of providing things for kids to do. Can't wait to come back!

Jonathan Shatos

Loved this museum. Get to see a variety of aircraft and spacecraft showpieces. Set pieces are heavily weighed towards commercial and military airplanes rather than spacecrafts as a heads up. What I did not expect was that you get to walk through half a dozen large airplanes, from an air Force one retired plane to the Concord commercial plane that is now out of service.

Jenna Meeks

Awesome! There is SO MUCH to explore! I went with two 10 year-old boys and an 8 year-old boy, so you know we didn't get to stay long in most places, and we spent 3hours and still didn't see all of the exhibits! There is a good mix of things to look at. It really got the boys interested in the history of the world wars and aviation. They also loved the space section.

Joakim Johansson

A fantastic museum. The exhibitions are amazing. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Julie Farrow

My feetvwore out before my interest. I didn't know I was that interested in all things flight, but the presentation is accessible and inspiring. We became members as we know we'll make the hour and a half drive a few more timed this year since we didn't have the stamina to spend as long there as we wanted.

Lisa Gaspar

We love the Museum of flight and all the interesting programs they offer for kids. The recent Apollo exhibit was amazing and quite awe inspiring when you realized you were looking at things that had been in space, or even come from the moon, like the rock sample. How cool! You must plan several hours, or really multiple visits to begin to see everything at the museum. It's all very interesting and there is a lot to see.

Jennifer Le

We have membership with TELUS science world and thought we would get in using our membership but be prepared to line up in the regular line for “ head count”.. and no other reason. So if you are heading down during longs weekends or “weekends” Maybe go to some other places and have lunch first.

Matt L.

Awesome experience. You can tell the attendants and volunteers are passionate about the exhibits. Seeing the command module in person was a great experience to scratch off my nerd bucket list.

David Hallowell

A true gem of the Pacific Northwest, and the best flight museum in the US outside of the Smithsonian in DC (Maybe better, but it's been a couple decades). The exhibits are thoughtfully divided into phases of flight history & final aim. There are plenty of children's exhibits, and the annual cadence of events & special exhibits is superlative. Gift shop is awesome, despite some occasionally grumpy salespeople. Cafe could be improved quite a bit by some healthier options or even bringing Starbucks in the service the Museum. These are minor things though. My family is incredibly grateful to Boeing for gifting this special place to the community!

Eric Tastad

Nice large museum of the history of flight and spaceflight with many historical aircraft. There is a Boeing emphasis, but they have everything. It is a very large museum so fine even with crowds except for lines at special exhibits.

Ngoc-Diep Powan

We love the museum of flight! Especially when it's free after 5PM on the first Thursday of every month. It's a great place for all ages. Our babies love this area and the grandparents love it for the history. Totally appreciate there's an eating area with decent amount of food (burgers, hot dogs, etc.) Our favorite is the space station with lots of interactive play Love that they are so kid friendly even the bathroom has stepping stool for kids to wash their hands. Currently if features airplanes from the Vietnam war, so for all you Viet history folks, go check it out!! Moon lovers, currently, it's under construction so the kids area and the lunar area is blocked off, but still plenty of things to see!!! Check it out!

Auction Hustle

Took the kids for a hands on history lesson! We did the Apollo 11 presentation they had offered. Not the best for toddler -10 but there were enough parents with like ages where all the kids got congregate and be kids too. Great Vietnam exhibit and ofcourse many cool Aviation pieces and information!

Dennis Gould

Amazing place. Lots to see. You can easily spend 5 hours or more going through it. It is kind of pricey though.

Erica Turner

This museum is well put together and has a ton of information! We didn’t spend nearly enough time here as we had a flight to catch. However, you could easily spend a whole day going through all the exhibits.

Aruna Veerappan

I love it here. I have been there 3 times. They have great collections of flights used in wars. You can pose as pilot in some of the flights. Its unique and its a must place to visit if you visit seattle. Apollo mission displays are mind blowing. You could see the lunar modules and also a rock that was brought from moon. Video of the first step on moon and related information are nicely collated. Its very informative. You need to take additional ticket for Apollo mission display. It does not come with standard ticket. But its worth it. They have a cafeteria with decent food items and drink. Can spend 4 - 5hrs in there.

Kathy Kilgore

Great history of flight museum. There is information from the Wright Brothers to space travel with engaging and detailed exhibits throughout. There is a large children's area, entire planes to walk through, historical buildings belonging to Boeing, WWl and WWll exhibits, an entire building dedicated to space flight, movies and short films and a small cafe. Be sure to allow at least half a day to see everything, or buy a discounted tickets to return for a second days enjoyment

Steven Selan

Loved it one of the best places in the country dealing with history of aviation. Very professional and well organized. A real education on aviation. Don't miss it.

Jaroslav Kroulík

Great expositions and some planes which cannot be seen anywhere else. All kinds of planes from early years of aviation to modern history. You can see Concorde, B29, Nixon's Air force one, Spitfire and many others.

James Kirkland

I go to the MOF several times a year. It is a great place and one of the better aerospace museums I have been to. I was worried the first time I came that it would be Boeing focused, but other than one section, that is not the case. I particularly enjoy going inside the planes I. The air park. The Concorde, 747, 787, etc are all great to go through. I always learn something new and the exhibits are constantly evolving. The museum is always growing and changing. The food is also surprising good for a museum. I had a great Hawaiian chicken sandwich last time I went. The gift shop is great. I would also suggest going to the Boeing store down the street as well. It has a great selection of Boeing gear.

Maggie Lyttle

Very interesting museum that takes you on a historical journey of flight through the ages. The Aircraft Pavillion alone was worth the cost of admission. The only down side was that there were so many people crowded into Destination Moon that it was difficult to enjoy. Standing on the plane that carried JFK, LBJ and Nixon more than made up for it

Brandon Brown

This museum was amazing! A bit pricey at $25, but well worth it! So much to see and do and you can really get lost for hours in all of the engaging exhibits and first hand anecdotes of the staff. 5 stars!!!

Judy Parks

We greatly enjoyed the Destination Moon exhibit that remains until Sept 2nd. Decided to get a museum membership before we left! Great place to take friends & family. Lots of discounts available.

Diana Oskov

Simply amazing museum. The Destination moon exhibit was outstanding, very educational and great to experience so many artifacts in person. It is great to see that the museum is always extending their collection of plains, machines, and historical materials. They keep it interesting even for us the locals that have the opportunity to visit it often. It is one of the favorite please to visit for my kids (9&12). They also have great movie selection. The food is good as well, I love how they keep the theam in naming the sandwiches as well.

Kari Charbonnel

Lots of interesting things to check out. Depending on how you peruse museums you could spend a few hours to most of the day. Checked out the apollo exhibit which was quite good.

Bill Campbell

What an amazing tour... it should be longer. I’ve waited years to do this tour snd it was better than expected.. our guide a “Boeing brat” was nothing short of stellar... his stories, voice, personality... Christopher you made a great tour .. the best. Boeing is a great America success story every American should visit and be proud of.. brovo.

Kitty Murphy

Absolutely LOVED this place! Fun for all ages. Lots of interactive learning features. Fantastic displays from the Wright Brothers, through to Apollo and present day aviation. I’d definitely see it again. Sooooooo much information to take in. Make sure you have at least 3 or 4 hours to browse!!!!

Bill Roper

Awesome Flight museum. Incredible selection of aircraft to see and go inside. Very large collection of modern commercial aircraft as well as retired models. Also very nice WW1 & WW2 museum. Gift shop is also very nice. Parking was only challenge, wish they had shuttles from parking lot but was well worth the walk to the entrance.

chris rumrill

Super interesting. Lots of really interesting planes to see. You can even walk through some planes like an old Air Force One, British Airways Concorde jet, and a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

PrimaLash Lashes

What a fantastic museum! We had such an amazing day here - being able to step inside some of the most iconic aircraft on the planet was excellent! Well worth a visit

William Deacon

If you like planes, and maybe even if you don't this museum is a must-see! Whilst there are seemingly frivolous activities which may not appeal to older visitors, the history with which the building brims is incredibly engaging. The world war exhibits are thoughtful and depict the development of combat planes with many different types. For me personally the standout was Carter's Air Force One, truly inspirational. It is a bit repetitive and definitely pricy, but overall an excellent day out with lots of things for kids to do, as well as some impressive aeronautical history.

Alastair Knowles

If you are in Seattle, and enjoy museums of any kind, this should be on your list of places to visit! Some of the stuff you can see/your here is absolutely insane (Air Force One; Blackbird; Concord!). If you or your kids like airplanes, this is a must. Takes a lot of time to see the entire museum (I'd give yourself a morning or afternoon if you hope to get the most out of your visit).

Robert Smith

Excellent aerospace museum located near Boeing in South Seattle. The permanent collections are amazing. Lots of great aircraft to see. The displays are extremely well executed. Additionally there is usually a great rotating exhibit. You could easily spend 2-6 hours here depending on the rate at which you go through a museum.

Richard Samuels

If you're in Seattle, you should visit here. The collection is incredible both in breadth and depth. Take a free docent tour. We had an interesting and knowledgeable docent who specialized in commercial aircraft of the 1930's. I could have spent many more hours at the museum if my family hadn't dragged me away. If you're interested in aviation, it's easy to spend a full day. Check out the website and various discounts.

Ethan Turk

Good exhibits but VERY crowded in a number of them. They have a system to try and help for the special exhibits but they apparently sell too many tickets per slot. Museum is excellent.

Alan Aoki

You need to be there to experience it! Give it a lot of time. It's big, has a lot to do, see, Experience! I'm going back a few more times to do all of it.

AuxilioVeritas

I have had an obsession with the SR71 blackbird. This museum fulfilled my need and satisfied my obsession. Somewhat far off, it is still worth the trip. It takes a while to get through everything, though, so plan on spending a whole day. The cafeteria offers some nice food with interesting naming schemes, but otherwise the food is so-so. Make sure to go across the street for the remainder of the museum!

Wen Zha

It's amazing! Great collection with a huge variety of aircraft! A lot of interesting history to explore. You can also get some food at the museum. It was very nice, tasted good, and it was reasonably priced. I would say that this is a good museum that is worth visiting.

Darren McDonald

The collection gets better everytime I visit. Some of the most knowledgeable and friendly docents anywhere. The Apollo 11 exhibit was mind-bending.

Bob Brown

If you are an aviation or aerospace buff you will love this museum and can easily obtain many hours of enjoyment here.

Julene Bateman

Great indoor activity to get out of the rain or heat. All ages can enjoy this. I take my kids here often. Very interactive museum with lots for both young and old to learn and enjoy. Multiple kid centers for little to climb and play on, we especially like the WWI and WWII exhibits. there is a theater where they show different flight themed films, and a couple cafes for food. You could spend all day in there, it's huge! Really fun to watch actual planes take off, as it is on Boeing field.

David Munoz

Awesome experience. I would note that people should plan to be there ALL day if they want to see everything. 3 hrs minimum

AKELLA RAVI

Education and enjoyment. Always visit with children. They learn many things. Great place. Worth spending entry fee.

Ima Eastsidegurl

An awesome facility to keep your family looking up. So many fun planes and space items. Seeing Apollo 11 in person was awe inspiring. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to explore, there is SO much to see.

Michael Murphy

Incredible experience going to this museum. It has lots to offer and keeps everyone entertained even if you don't know much about the history or if your not interested planes. What they have on display is priceless and is a good reminder of how far we have come. It is a place I would continue to go back to.

Ben Pasquarosa

Massive museum full of all sorts of stuff to see. WWI to the modern area. Part of the museum is literally built into the original Boeing Factory. My biggest complaint though is that many of the activities inside the museum are behind pay walls even though you already paid top dollar to gain admission.

Betty Lew

Great way to spend 3 to 5 hours, especially on a rainy day. There's so much to see even if you aren't a plane or space fanatic. It's about 30 minutes outside of downtown Seattle by car, not far from the Boeing plant.

Steve King

I love airplanes and aerospace. This museum has a great collection. Very well done!

Stephen Aston

This is a must see place. The amount of stuff these guys have is crazy. I spent 4 hours here. I was really impressed with how much info and facts the volunteers knew. This is a must see!!!!

B D

Loved the museum! They have done an excellent job making improvements and keeping things kept up since we visited last in 2012. They have so many planes, exhibits simulators, etc. The new Space exhibit was excellent as well! Reserve 4 hours minimum to take it all in.

Jon Solomon

This is not a great museum for kids. It depends on the age group of the child, because it is basically a 'hands-off' place. Making maters worse, you can see all the levers, button, switches and dials but are blocked by plexiglas. If your kid can handle that, then it is pretty good. You look at a lot of plans and if you have never been in a comercial airplane then you are in for a treat.

Jacob Schmitt

We were fortunate to visit during the Apollo 11 exhibit and say the capsule. The rest of the museum was interesting, too. Lots of planes, sure, but for those less interested in planes they did a nice job of sharing relevant stories. We also loved the cool old woodworking shop In the OG Boeing red barn and the fact that you could walk through planes in the pavilion. The Concorde was a real treat. We spent four hours there, I could see people really into planes wanting even more time.

Louis Earl

Great place...so much to see. Young and old will love the history and technology of flight. You are able to climb in and look around at how things were done. It is worth the fee to get in.... plan on at least 3 hours, 4 would be better. Bring the entire family....all ages will enjoy.

Bill King

Like other reviewers here I'll agree that this place is amazing. What separates this museum from others, in my opinion, is the availability of volunteers that roam the floor and will approach you to offer an insider view to a particular exhibit. In some cases who actually flew the airplane you were looking at or just how a plane would actually get up in the air (the Concorde story is pretty amazing). Made for a fun and informative day. The second 'cool' thing is being able to sit on a bench in front of the museum (or up in the old control tower) and watch all kinds of aircraft land and take-off on the runway. Your access to this activity is MUCH closer than any modern-day airport will allow. Made for some great aviation pictures.

tx1 G

This place is amazing! So glad I made time for it when I visited Seattle. Spent hours touring the one building, then walked across the street on the bridge and got totally impressed again with all the the planes on display, many of which you can go into, including an old Air Force One. Also paid extra for the Space Shuttle interior. AN ABSOLUTE MUST for any aircraft enthusiast. I don't know if there could possibly be a better place than this.

Paul Joiner

What a great museum for airplane enthusiasts. You could spend a couple hours here. Make sure you cross the street and see the inside of their commercial airplanes - what’s great tribute to the history of Boeing commercial. There is a great selection from the past 100 years, including space flight. My teenager and first grader both enjoyed our visit. It was raining, so we got a little wet crossing over to the galleries across the street.

Lisa Geckle

I’ve been here 3 or 4 times in the past couple of years and am always eager to go back. We take out of state family here every time and they always lament that 4 or 5 hours wasn’t enough time....they wanted to spend all day there!

Charlene Chaussee

This is a great place to learn about the history of planes. It's a one day experience. They have docents (people with knowledge) to help you if you like.

leonnights19

It's huge. There is so much to look at and read and watch. Plenty of helpful staff to answer questions and/or tell you stories about the exhibits. You need minimum 2 hours but you could spend a whole day. Kids under 6 or so probably would get bored. Bring your walking shoes and hope for a good song when you cross the street in the covered walkway.

John Duggan

I grew up under the approach to Logan Airport in Boston, so I could either love planes, or hate them because of the noise. I have had a lifetime love of commercial aviation and this Museum could be a shrine to my passion. Pulling into a parking space and seeing a Lockheed Constellation 100 feet away got my heart pounding. There are ample exhibits that will satisfy any interest in aviation: military, commercial or general, and their exhibit on air force aces was exceptional. That being said, seeing the original 747 fully restored and being able to walk on was an absolute thrill.Just go, by yourself or with your whole family, it is entertaining, educational, and a hell of a lot of fun.

Hayden B

Absolutely incredible experience! There are planes from every era of aviation. There is a space section as well. A few simulators spread throughout for additional entertainment.

Sonja Cassel

So fun walking threw the planes! And seeing all the history of how planes were invented. I really enjoyed the limited time space part.

Do the flight simulators!!! Unless you get nauseous... We had a BLAST!!! Granted...my husband thought it grand to fly upside down. -.- But we did have so much fun. We wanted to go again but then we had a snack... There’s so much to see!!! We were there three hours but didn’t get to see the space area or the outdoor exhibits. We’re definitely coming back here!

Jon Horner

Quite a large number of aircraft. Everything is very carefully curated. It is amazing to see so much history and industrial achievement in one place, or at all for that matter.

Mary Yoke

Can't take it all in in less that 5 hours. Lots of history of the people (including women) involved in the creation of modern flight. Cafe has good food at reasonable museum prices.

Derek Jones

Great experience for an old Air Force Sgt. Toured the B17 and B29. Huge respect for the brave young men who flew all those missions over europe. God bless them all!

Dennis Drummond

Great planes, informative, numerous displays. You get into some of the planes: first? Air Force One; training shuttle & others.

Barry Walvoord

Enjoyed the day at the Museum of Flight. Especially liked the Apollo 11 Capsule and other Moon items especially the Moon Rover! A very active place with many outstanding aircraft. Cross the street and see the SST display, the B17, B29, Air Force One, 777 and a 747. Huge planes and many you can go inside.

Regina Carter

We are here visiting our children and our grandchildren and they are members of the museum. We have been there before the kids were born, but is fabulous to return when the kids can explore the different sections of the museum. The museum is simply humongous. There’s an entire section that you’re allowed to enter airplanes and go through the play ground area . there was an entire section of when man landed on the moon it is something that you have to keep coming back all the time incredible visit.

Udochi Nwobodo

Check out the Apollo exhibit at the museum of flight. It’s extensively curated and properly displayed. The actual footage of the moon landing playing on a 60’s era vintage tv, astronaut suit, actual piece of moon rock and cut up of the original NY Times front page headline of the moon landing were my favorite attractions

Garret K

Great place to see Boeing's history as well as United Airlines beginnings. They have lots of one of a kind aircraft. I would definitely recommend this museum to other airplane buffs.

Lance Lambert

I've been there several times and never tire of seeing the displays. It's a favorite way to spend a few hours with my four year old grandson. A few times I've gone by myself and dedicated the visit to really focusing on one section. It's easy for me to spend four to six hours recalling taking in the WWI or WWII displays.

The whole family loves going here year after year! Always new things to learn and see and a great assortment of exhibits to make everyone happy (even the littlest who found the outside playplace this time and was super happy with that!)!

Hillary Kane

Very comprehensive. Tons to see. We could have easily spent 5 hours here. They had activity packs for kids which was perfect for my 9 year old but didn't hold the attention of my 6 year old. Not enough for really young kids.

Andrew Homa

Museum is 5 stars . Staff working main admission needs some help. Back up waiting to get admitted for those already having their e ticket was over 40 minutes. This is not Disneyland!

Haidy Emard

Awesome. You need a full day. So well done. Enjoyed it very much and will be back to see the rest of it. Very large with lots of walking. Got very lucky to see the Blue Angels take off from their runway on our visit.

Bryan Foster

There is a lot to do at the museum of flight. They have special events for members and lots of great displays and interactive presentations. The air park has lots of big planes to check out and the new b-52 is pretty cool. Was lucky to see the red arrows stop here. Kids love it. I love it. Connections memberships for kids is big plus.

Jonathan Baker

The staff was very helpful to new visitors. Also the museum is child friendly with many interactive exhibits; such as, larger air craft that can be toured, and a flight simulator.

Zev Behar

My dad and I love coming here. The original barn is always full of new facts and the walk-in plane section outside is my favorite part. Walk through an actual 747, dreamliner, and Air Force One.

Robert Maxwell

I'm not really fond of aviation and go there only with my friends. But I was surprised. The exhibition was really interesting, especially I liked the room with civil airplanes and they were everywhere even suspended from the ceiling. The mini-film about how airplanes are tested and constructed will not leave anybody indifferent.

Doug Wombles

Wish I would have had more time! The planes are amazing to get up close and see. They have smaller items many are very personal items, some are hand written by the pilots that used them. So much history, for all sides of the war. We will be going back to see the items we missed since it was a free day at the museum and the place was packed.

Sy Kim

Lots of things to do and to see. My kids loved there. Spent almost 5 hrs. I recommend to buy e tickets in advance. 3 counters for e tickets and 2 counters for registration(they opened 1 more later).

Chad Poirier

My daughter and I had a good time while looking at all the airplanes. At the end of the day we headed to the gift shop to pick out a special toy. With 20 mins left before the museum closed. She was having a hard time deciding what toy to get. At 5pm as the museum closed the gift shop filled with plenty of potential customer and that's when the employees started flickering the lights. Then they proceeded to tell everyone the registers are closing and hurry up on picking out the toy. It wasnt 1 employee it was 3 different ones. I had multiple items we were going to purchase but was turned off by the rude pushy customer service! As a business you are missing out on a great business opportunity. I will be back but wont spend my money on over priced gift shop toys with rude customer service!

Chris McCafferty

If you haven't been here you need to go. Fantastic place. Very educational.

Mark Hawley

Wonderful aerospace museum covering early flight thought space flight. Excellent restored examples of significant aircraft and spacecraft inn the history of flight. Especially rare B-29 bomber on display. Nice gift shop and small restaurant on site. Knowledgeable, helpful staff.

Daniel Bernard

Awesome museum. Located next to a working airfield so you can watch (and hear!) planes take off. Yesterday, we saw a fighter jet taking off while we were getting our lunch. There's a lot to see, so plan on spending 3-4 hours here. Prices are pretty reasonable minus the Shuttle trainer tour, which I find a little too expensive to do every visit. Gift shop is *not* overpriced at all, and museum membership awards you with a generous discount (15% off everything). We bought a lot of souvenirs and only spent maybe $120. At the Café, I recommend the soup + sandwich combo. The burgers aren't great.

Richard A Gallaway

Easily the best museum in Seattle! The Museum of Flight is always growing and changing. It is big enough to need two days to really see everything. It is also much safer to visit than anything downtown. Seattle is working very hard to make sure that violent drug addicts and pushy vagrants are more welcome than actual tourist! Visit the Museum of Flight and avoid the city of Seattle!

Nove Kangas

This place is great. You discover something new every time you visit. Such a vast variety of exhibits— everything from the industry surrounding the earliest ventures in flight to a full-fledged modern fighter jet simulator. Everything from the history of humans looking to the sky to very true-to-reality linked simulators of Mission Control and a space shuttle. Absolutely worth a visit.

David C

World-class aerospace museum. Boeing history, many rare, historic aircraft from all eras, some that you can go inside, including Concorde, 747, 787. Cafe and gift shop too. Plan on spending several hours and doing a fair bit of walking among several buildings.

Rachel Painting

Love, love, love the Museum of Flight. I've lost count of how many times I've gone with my almost 5-year-old. He never tires of going and neither do I. There's plenty of walking and big play for him, especially during the winter. I like that the exhibits range from air travel, both world wars, to space travel. The cafe and gift shop are both great. Highly recommend for adults or kids.

Marty Herrera

Had an absolutely fantastic time here. I cannot overstate how impressed I was not just with the amount of things to see, but at the quality of the exhibits. The WW2 and WW1 collections we're especially impressive.

Rhonda Gilezane

Lots of planes, sure, but for those less interested in planes they did a nice job of sharing relevant stories. We also loved the cool old woodworking shop In the OG Boeing red barn and the fact that you could walk through planes in the pavilion. The Concorde was a real treat. We spent four hours there, I could see people really into planes wanting even more time.

Amber Bryant

What a fantastic experience! My son is very interested in planes and loved that he could go inside so many of them. The Concord and Air Force One were definitely highlights. Plan on spending a whole day there, especially if you go to any special exhibits or do a flight simulator. There's way more there than you might expect.

Sejin Zhao

Amazing collection of planes and air crafts. You can walk through so many different aircrafts and talk to very knowledgeable people about any questions you may have. The wing cafe is ok very mediocre food but it’s still a fun experience and I also don’t expect super good food from their cafe.

Juniper Lund

Came here on first Thursday and had a blast. It was busy, as expected, but I still was able to go around and enjoy myself quite a bit without missing out because of the crowds. Well, only thing that had a line I didn't wanna sit through was the one onto the concord, but I would expect that to be a long line even on a slower day.

joe Pordon

Great place for the kiddos and adults! Fun things for them to play with and great pieces of history to learn. Definitely go there again

Giancarlo Gambini

A little bit over price for the amenities that they offer... Not high tech stuff anyways... But good to know a bit of aviation history...

Branden Bettger

This is an excellent museum. I've taken friends here from all over the world. I do wish the entrance fee was a little less. Paying extra for the Moon Exhibit was a little unexpected. You'd think Jeff Bezos could have covered the extra expense with his donation. However, the Moon Exhibit was still worth the extra $10 and should convince any skeptics that the Moon Landing was real.

Madeleine LaFoille

Went with a group and while I wasn't particularly interested I went along with the group. Ended up LOVING the place. Very thorough explanations of the various exhibits. Was really cool seeing the group of verts gathered together and here them sharing their experiences.

Laura Bensona

Why did I wait so long to visit the Museum of Flight? This is a gem and core to the Seattle experience. The docents are passionate about their airplanes. Many have worked on individual planes and speak eloquently about them. The sheer number of exhibits is perhaps overwhelming but they are laid out well and thematically. Be sure to be prepared to walk a lot. By all means, save some time to visit the planes across the street. On the day we were there, the cafeteria was very crowded. Food was acceptable but nothing to write home about. If the weather is nice, you can sit outside to enjoy your meal while watching the active runway of Boeing Field.

For the limited amount of space due to the surrounding corporations and airfield, they pack in a lot of cool airplanes and exhibits. Favorite aircraft was the presidential plane that President Lyndon Johnson flew to Dallas on when President Kennedy was killed. The plane that held President Johnson’s inauguration is in Dayton, Ohio. Favorite exhibit was the World War II aircrafts, so much history to learn about from the greatest generation in the world. Only complaint is the lack of staff at the ticket counter by the parking lot next to aviation park. We walk in right as the museum opens, head into the space shuttle hall (west campus bldg) and we see a place to purchase tickets. It’s only staffed by one person. Granted he worked as fast as he could and provided great service. But the line backed up very quickly. Come to find out the main ticket counter is all the way over in the east campus by the gift shop overlooking the airfield. If the museum is going to have signage on E Marginal Way to park in the lot by the west campus building, staff your ticket counter with more personal to accommodate the guests arriving.

Beautifully done museum. Many exhibits for the children and of course for the adults as well. Very clean and very interesting museum to see if your are in the area or in nearby Seattle. It was fun for my family, but one major tip... YOU NEED TO SPEND A WHOLE DAY HERE!! If you do not, you will not be able to see everything that this place has to offer. There is also add-ons which are the simulators, the Apollo 11 exhibit and the theaters. Overall, this is a great museum for all ages.

Tanya Kontsimal-Novyk

Great museum if you like airplanes/space and history. Very large, lots of exhibits. There's a central indoor area with lots of airplanes that you can look at, WWI and WWII exhibits that are very interesting. You can also cross the street to see another space exhibit, and check out the new plane hangar. You can enter planes in the hangar which is very cool. There's much more to see. Also love that the museum has free admission every first Thursday of the month from 5-9. Parking can get a little bit difficult to find on free Thursdays, not sure about the regular days.

Jennifer Wujcik

Many different varieties of planes and lots of retired pilots happy to share their stories with you.

Canyon Svetlik

The whole museum is just really cool. Many different types of planes, lots of aviation history, a theatre, and even a cafe are just some of neat stuff waiting for you too visit! I think it's the coolest museum in the northwest! A must visit if coming through the Seattle area!

Robert Bradley

Overall a very nice museum with a good selection But I'm very disappointed with the gift shop closing up 2 minutes before 5 on our way out the door to get souvenirs because of this you guys lost out on extra money. It would be nice if they stayed open a few extra minutes for those making there way back to the exit. I would be nice if the gift shop stayed open 5 extra minutes. I was told to come back tomorrow at 10 a.m. but I'm sorry I will be out of town and may not be back again. I'm just shocked at how quick places close around here

John Bannon

It's a great location and destination for area companies to use for events. Easy to get too with local access and conveniently located near the SEATAC airport. You can also fly into Boeing field.

Samod Shetty

A must visit place if you are interested in flights and its history overall. Lot of information to learn and understand.

Randy Rush

It was a big line of people to get in. But the exhibits did not disappoint. Many fascinating parts and factoids from the erstwhile Apollo and Space Shuttle missions. Well worth seeing and contemplating. Was it all justified? Or was it the next step? However, it is satisfying to see the courage of the men and women who rode those "ballistic missiles" to space and to the moon with 1960s and 1970s technology. In all, an impressive exhibit of the Apollo 11 artifacts and the Space Shuttle.

Amin Teh

How can you not love this place?! It's awesome and has so much history behind it. You can learn a lot while you're here and take lots of photos too! Must-go if you're in the Seattle area.

Carlyle Wilde

I have never seen do many different types of air craft in one place at one time. It is a great place to learn so much in one day even if you're not an aviation enthusiast. The highlight for me was the Blackbird. The staff were so knowledgeable and very kind. Be prepared to spend a good portion of an afternoon here as there is lots to see.

Ryan Hart

We had a blast at the Museum of Flight! We stayed from 10:00 to 5:00, the whole time they were open. There's a ton to see and lots of interesting things to read about. The volunteers had a lot to share, too.
