Interesting history of the valley but photos not allowed

Air conditioned, clean bathrooms and much better exhibits than many rural museums. They have enough stock, especially with the costumes to rotate stock, so there were different things this time than the last. Volunteer staffed, it might take them a minute to find something, but that is part of the charm. Lots of parking and several great photo ops right from the parking lot.

I found this historic museum tucked away up on a hillside overlooking the Skagit valley in La Conner. Lots of local history on display from logging to current economy on display. History display well documented. Another gem of on display was the contributions of Mexican Americans in the valley and also local Indians. A true find. It sure makes me want to go visit other towns in local area to visit. Charming displays of past technology also. Friendly staff always there to answer questions about the history of the region and what's on display.

This museum has some period displays. Most artifacts are in glass enclosures. The views of the Skagit Valley from the back deck are great. The staff was friendly and helpful. Worth a visit.
