Kleines aber feines Museum. Die Fahrtmit der Fähre von Seattle ist die perfekte Anreise.

Alanna Imbach

Very cool little museum with high quality exhibits. Went with a small gang of 3 - 6 year olds, and everyone found fun things to engage with. The kids especially enjoyed the children's room outfitted with wearable costumes and play galley, as well as the demo bunk beds. Wouldn't be worth the trip for the museum alone if I were coming from Seattle or further given the size of the place, but it's a fun and easy add on to other sightseeing activities, or a GREAT rainy day option for local families. Don't miss Harborside Fountain Park right next door.

Donald Guerrero

Reminded me of my military days thank you

Mark Damiani

Didn't know what to expect. I didn't realize just how much the Navy has impacted my life without me knowing it. I actually want to go back cause I didn't see everything.

A fun, free place to stop and learn quite a lot. They have a neat area for the kids too, with puppets and a play submarine structure.

I was saddened that their were no mention about a Destroyer Tender that was commissioned in Bremerton , Called the USS Puget Sound A.D. 38, I am a Plank owner of that ship. I think that your Puget Sound Museum could of rounded up some mention of the ship that carried the Puget Sound name When she was commissioned, Just saying.

Diane Chase

Nice place to visit. Has a hands on child area for active play.

Tejash Shah

And good options for a nice patio or two for food and libations...highly recommend going here.

Wonderful, FREE tour. Great information about the area and the ship yard.

James Hiney

I stood on the deck of the USS Missouri when it was mothballed but open to the public in July, 1979. About 1985 I saw her again in Long Beach CA from the deck of the USS Long Beach which has since been scrapped. Hard to believe all that High Tech is gone. Mighty MO looked even larger then! It was an awesome feeling but ordinary at the same time.

Karen Rajaonarivelo

Happy this is available for our Vets and their families.

Martin Sun

Great little museum. Definitely worth a visit! I only had a couple of hours before returning with the ferry. Would have spent more time here and less at USS Turner Joy, if I had realized the museum’s potential

Kyler Texeira

Absolutely incredible, wonderful place. Very kid friendly. Great quality displays. Wonderful gift shop. Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming. I can't say enough about how much my family loves it here!

Jayson Mallari

What I enjoyed most about this museum is the knowledge of the museum staff. They are very friendly and enthusiastic during my visit. I learned a lot about the shipyard history and how much it affects the city even today. A lot of reverence to these unsung heroes especially those who worked to get those ships during wartime years (WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam). Thank you for such a great experience during my visit!

Scott Cauble

Matt Harowitz

Nice museum close to the ferry terminal

Goo gle

Very cool museum about PSNS (1st floor) and navy ships (2nd floor). It's not very big, 2 hours should be enough. Museum is free. No onsite parking. 1h ~ 3h free street parking is available in the area. You won't get much view of PSNS from the museum.

Alan Barrow

Not much to see, mosly social history on the area

Rabbi Yosef Abrahms

B BRIONES

Great museum to learn the history of our armed forces and country. Very easy to understand displays of many watercrafts used by tbe Navy, with some hands on interactive pieces. The retired veterans help man the gift shop, and have great insight and stories to share.

Last I was there, years ago, it was a facinating place to experience and the history I never knew, even though I was in the Navy, was incredible. I had wished that it would've been more interactive and bigger.

John Silva

This was a very cool and informative museum. A lot of effort went in to making visitors really understand what life is like on board an aircraft carrier and I learned quite a lot about Bremerton's history. A quality visit should take you about 2 hours or so.

Naty Fregoso

History lovers nice place to visit

nellynosibor1998

Quality for free. So much great history

todd rosenlund

A neat place to go

Isabel Acosta

Beautiful museum a lot of information very important.

Terry Howell

This is a Great Museum, lots of naval history as well as a glimpse into the shipyards over the years. I learned there is an apprenticeship program for those interested in a pipefitters career. The time line takes you from the early days of the Navy in Seattle to the current aircraft carrier's in the area. This is free and self guided but you'll have no problem getting around. Gift and souvenir shop at the end. The whole thing can be done in less than an hour.

Tara Music

Very clean, family friendly and nice volunteers

Joe Battin

Not enough displays. The museum would benefit from more hands on displays.

Louis Levy

Free

Walter Pempey

If have to say the overall experience is probably better suited to older children and their parents, but I took my kids here and we had a lot of fun. They have a lot of different exhibits that show various hurricane aspects of the shipyard and the craft they've worked on over time up through more modern displays. My kids particularly enjoyed the tattoo exhibit that featured a tattoo projector. Well done!

Blue Heritage

Logan Lopez

Great place to get away for a little and it is free. Staff was very knowledgeable and willing to help and answer questions.

Mary Ruff

Very interesting place to see. Very educational

Tina Sabalat

Steve H.

I felt that the stories and information about the shipyards history were very limited. There were other displays about naval boats and life on a nuclear aircraft carrier. Just an average museum for me.

tamara howell

Great museum. Love the section on baseball

William Lofthouse

Outstanding collection from a century old local shipyard. Found info on my own 1st ship. Great staff and they change displays as new ships come in. Impressive!

Holly Robinson

Sarkis Karapetyan

Awesome place for the family. Neat little section for the kids too. It is free and right next to the ferried so you can catch it and go to Seattle or come easily from Seattle. It's an educational museum as well as interesting to learn about.

luis ofray

You can actually stop by while you wait for the ferry to Seattle....the kids and adults cool down on the submarine inspired fountains....it's a cool place

Shad Owen

Very interesting landmark. I had no idea this base existed and it's role in fighting WW 1. There's a lot of information about Pearl Harbor and how ships and submarines operate and various crew duties. I learned a lot.

michael casper

Small and unassuming but well worth the time and cost of admission (free!). Having served on three carriers, the upper level does a great job describing the jobs and life aboard a super carrier. Also has exhibits on small craft and some sections that rotate. The lower level covers the shipyards beginnings. We had about an hour which was adequate but if you read more and listen to all of the videos you might want another half hour. The gift shop is also well appointed.

Stacey Bassett

This was such a great museum and it's free! The staff/volunteers were very helpful. They had lockers to hold larger bags at no charge. I was incredibly moved by the photography exhibit they had on the 2nd floor. I was in Bremerton recreating a photograph my Granddaddy took while his ship was pulling into Puget Sound. He was around the same age and around the same time period as Mr. Steen. Seeing Mr. Steen's work allowed me to feel even closer to my Granddaddy who passed away a year after I was born. Thank you for making this connection possible!

Melissa Gaines

Well kept free museum... The workers were friendly and it was fairly general but my family learned a lot and it kept us engaged :-)

Llynn S

Really cool museum! Loved the upstairs portion. All the volunteers were super nice BUT THERE IS NO PARKING HERE!! if you drive down you'll end up on a ferry to seattle. If you have a trailer, good luck! I wish there were warnings about this before we almost boarded a ferry with our trailer. We had to park on the street but at least it was free!

Jeremy J. Juraszek

I loved this museum. Nice and just Gr8.

Wayne Butt

Fantastic place.

No one goes to these places. Why do the people that review the two Navy Museums rate them so highly? No way in hell that the places in question should rate higher than two stars. I visited the Under Sea Museum previously and both suffer from a lack of a physical exhibit although the facility that dismantled the aging ships, a far more interesting place, is literally next door. Both of the Navy Museums should have entire sections if not decommissioned vessels docked at the Museum like was done in Fall River Massachusetts where 3 naval vessels are docked there and numerous smaller vessels inside. Yes one was a few dollars to enter and the other is free; but our time is also a commodity and going to the Naval Museums is a waste of it. The only saving grace is the incredibly beautiful park that lies behind the Museum. It has a series of large fountains of brass or copper with pathways of stone in a ribbon shape. There are large metal sculptures throughout. At the end, is puget sound. When we were there, we saw the USS Nimitz leaving port in regalia with a helicopter hovering overhead; I assume for a photo op. There is also a pretty nice fountain in front of the shipyard and a decent downtown. It's the things around the Museum that makes it worth while, but again the Museum itself is a let down. I will drop some photos later.

Zach W
