we visit the area often and have found it to be full of interesting things to do, this place is another of those. I expected the experience to be cheesy or lacking but our kids loved it.

Interesting place to visit to observe how the first settlers to this region lived, over 100 years ago. Here is a list of what schoolkids could be punished for and the severity of these punishments. Photo taken at store in the town.

It is true Pioneer living, farm animals, coal fired forge and a wood shop. There are no bathrooms but out-houses so dont be surprised when you gotta go. Its a fun close activity to do if you live in the Puyallup area.

Russell Cox

Our children and grand children were visiting us from out of country this summer. We did all kinds of things in and around Seattle, but the one thing that the kids talk about and remember the most, is Pioneer Farms. This is an absolute wonderful attraction for kids of all ages. If you are even thinking about going out here, make sure you do, because you will not regret it.

Bit busy with limited parking- not expecting that. But wonderful time. Great with large groups or small family group. Wonderful staff and beautiful place. Kids loved it.

This hands on educational farm is absolutely amazing! We and my kids (3 and 1 year old) enjoyed it very much. The kids were able to milk a cow, ride a horse, collect eggs, grind coffe beans and grains, churn butter, play with the dough, and make braslets from the sheep yarn, etc. The stuff was extremely polite and attentetive. I would give this place 10/10 if I were able to. Truly unique place, highly recommend.

Fun place for a field trip, however after a 90 minute bus ride my kids were yelled at by the staff as they exited the bus. They were not permitted to eat or use the bathroom. They were rushed along through the whole experience.

Sarah Sipe

People were so kind and patient there

This place could be amazing. But the men abs woman who work there are terrible with children. They're very rude. While I understand having pride and taking your native history seriously, inviting schools should come with the understanding that these are children. It was beautiful it there, and we learned a lot, but constantly felt uncomfortable and unwelcome

Teresa Keith

Chaperoned a field trip 5/21 with my sons 3rd grade class from a Tacoma school. Worst experience I've ever had on a field trip. With the exception of one of the employees at the farm museum, the kids were yelled at and herded through there like cattle. While getting lunches off the bus, I struck up a conversation with the driver about what I was experiencing and she said she had seen similar behavior on other field trips. I suggest any other schools considering visiting, think twice. Oh, and bring tons of hand sanitizer because the bathrooms were atrocious. The kids didn't even want to go into them. I will never go back.

This is a living history museum. It's a bit like stepping back in time for however long you visit. There are plenty of hands on activities for kids to try. Most of my visits have been during class field trips, but I have also taken part in the weekend camping experience, which was quite fun.

Victoria Rentfro

We had a great time today. We only did the pioneer farm tour as we had little ones with us and didn't think they could handle both tours. The staff was very friendly and informative. The first two buildings were not interactive but still very interesting to see how the homes were set up back in the day. The next two parts of the tour were hands on and in both areas they explain everything first and then let you go around trying everything. The whole time the guide was there to help and assist. They had a lot of things set up for the kids to try like making a piece of wool yarn, grinding wheat, kneading dough, churning butter, trying on pioneer clothes, and several other things. The animal area was great! The kids milked a cow, pet the sheep, rubbed the pigs belly (it's name was bacon bits and it was the cutest thing ever), tried to hold a chicken, and went on horse rides. There was even a blacksmith area that my oldest was able to stoke the fire, put a horseshoe in the vice and shape it a bit. There was also a anvil for pounding flat again. There was also a wood working area that had several different activities. Last but not least there is an amazing barn cat (orange tabby) that I think was all the kids favorite! There was also a great little gift shop. The prices for the tour and the items in the shop were very reasonable and they take debit! I will definitely be back to check out the other tour! Thank you to the workers for doing such a wonderful job!

Lots of fun stuff to do.

Very interesting place.

This place is great for learning about the Ohop Natice Americans. I really enjoyed their hands on approach and the information that was given and learned. It is 4 stars, because of how the office staff's customer service. My daughter had a field trip, and I was apart of it, however not apart of the group (was to meet up with them and then follow with). I was not informed that it was a cash only place, and very begrudgingly the cashier had told me, "We told the school cash only." I was not WITH the school group, I was coming in separate to join. It wasnt until I was at the door I was told, "Well I can take it but..." I did not stay. She didn't even tell me where the closest atm was to even go get cash in the beginning of being told "Cash Only". I think this should be placed on their website (where I got the directions). Overall the experience is great, however, I did not appreciate the response when not even "Cash only" isnt even posted on their gift shop door or windows, or website. I would recommend this to get in touch with the history of our Native Americans living and Pioneer living.

In 3rd grade I had one of the best field trips at school. I don't who wouldn't like Pioneer Farms!

Get a tour and see the insides of both cabins. Yes, the bathrooms are more primitive. But this place is authentic, memorable, and charming.

Great place to go with your kids. Very educational. Plus they have animals! One of my daughters was in love with their baby pig. And my other daughter got to take a short spin on their horse. There are some areas where it's hands off. But they also have a space where you and your kids can touch everything and use the items. You can grind coffee, grind grain, churn butter, hand your hair curled, work an old clothes washer... My kids (ages 8, 10, 15, 18) had a great time, and we even got through the day with no arguments
