REVIEWS OF Museum of Pop Culture IN Washington

Mason Rangel

By far my favorite Museum. We bought a membership after my first visit. They have new exhibits every now and then —frequently enough to keep you interested. The sound lab is the best part.

Justin Hubble

My favorite experience of my trip to Seattle. If you have any knowledge or interest in pop culture it is a must to go there. It was so fun and cool to walk through and see so many culture things I love and was interested in.

Melissa Chu

This museum has a decent overview of all things popular today. Even if you feel that you are not too involved in the pop culture, you will likely find something you connect with here anyway. Just don’t expect it to go into details or anything granular. There are also a few interactive areas here including the sound section and the game section.

Katia OS

A museum worth visiting a whole day, there's so much to experience you won't be able to see it all.

James T

Incredible museum with more than enough literature and exhibits to immerse yourself for an afternoon or more! Had a great time with the history that lies within the beautiful building

Ramin Noodles

Was a great experience for me and my family. I am personally a huge fan of these kind of attractions, and loved every second of it.

Michelle Jackson

For the music, sci fi, horror, and fashion lover. This place was amazing. The museum itself is huge with open air feeling and the different exhibits are set up in such a way they blend seamlessly into each other. So glad I came and thank you to my boss for the recommendation

Shawn Gilbert

Well worth a quick side trip. I missed the spooky part but heard it's great from a local.

Corijona

This is a must see if you are visiting Seattle. Get a city pass so this admission is taken care of along with 4 of the other city attractions for a lower cost. The museum itself is huge, make sure to allocate at least 2 to 3 hours so you do not feel rushed and can take in everything the museum has to offer. The upstairs has a music room where you can play all sorts of awesome instruments and feel like a rockstar for the day. The Nirvana and Pearl Jam exhibits are excellently curated and really give you a full on history of the bands. Seeing the instruments these guys played, and the handwritten lyrics was a really neat experience. If you are into horror and scifi the movie props that are on display are amazing. The fantasy room was one of my favorites. I didn't expect to see actual props from The Wizard Of Oz and The Princess Bride but it was such a pleasant surprise. This museum will absolutely make you feel nostalgic. It is truly a fantastic way to spend the day.

George Llama

This was a great museum to visit. My kids normally don’t care for museums. They see an object for a second and want to move on. This museum has something interesting for the whole family. My wife enjoyed the Pearl Jam exhibit. My son enjoyed the horror section. And I loved seeing the Doctor Who section. My daughter fell in love with the entire museum. When in Seattle this is a must see.

Gloria Connors

An excellent display of our Pop Culture that had wonderful displays of some of Seattle's famous rock legends, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam and others. It also has displays on Science fiction, with wardrobes wore on set of some of the most popular science fiction movies, such as The Terminator, The Lord of the rings trilogy, Wizard of oz and others. Well worth the time and a lot of fun!

Larissa Tiara

Super fun place to go, although pricey. The horror exhibit is quite possibly the most fun. Jeepers creepers was my favorite statue thingy. It's a little dark and a bit freaky at first, so it might be scary young children. The Wolfgang Puck restaurant had great burger and fries.

Erica Fox

This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Seattle... if you love music there's something for you to enjoy here. Also fun for those fans of fantasy/horror/sci - fi film. Probably not well suited for very young children, however. I would think ages 8+ would do best.

Jesus Oviedo

Great place to learn about music, movies and other art forms that have changed the global culture.

Aspen Blain

Easily one of the best museums in Seattle, but it unfortunately comes with a price tag and has very few (if any) options to make it more accessible to lower income people and families.

Bruno Cendón

A must in Seattle. Pop culture is part of our lives, so this is a museum about your life. You'll love it

Wendy Whitaker

Expensive. And some exhibits were not that interesting to our 6 and 8 year olds. I loved Pearl Jam though, and they loved the sound lab and the video game exhibit. Worth the trip! Well done exhibits.

Srikanth Mukku

A spectacular exhibition of pop culture, I was lucky to see the comice book hero version and so enjoyed it.

Joshua Berger

Has a really great architecture that makes the building stand out well. It also holds a lot of history about grunge and a really cool music room to play around with high quality instruments.

Marilyn Buchanan

Great exhibits, great experience. Love the one price to see all. Very family friendly.

Bobby S

Place is insanely awesome for fans of music, moves, and TV. There are so many props from classic films. I was in awe at the collection, from Walking Dead to Indiana Jones, with a little bit of Narnia in between. Was seriously so cool seeing the outfits and items in real life. The music sections were equally impressive, the items in the Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana exhibits were insane. High school artwork by Kurt Cobain, the guitar Jimi Hendrix played at Woodstock. Nuts to be standing alongside those items. The cafe was pretty tasty and not excessively priced. I would say this is a must stop in Seattle, spent half the day here and the excitement never wore off.

Erin Cahoj

Really cool stuff and interactive. Would recommend to a person interested in movies and music.

Jonathan Schneider

What an amazing museum. I mean... seriously it has a Dalek. Awesome exhibits of music that is an incredible collection. Would highly recommend if in Seattle.

Brianna Pospishel

There is a little something for everyone here. We spent hours inside. It was fantastic. Learned a lot and had a lot of fun. So worth it.

Helen Morgan

Easily the most fun you can have in a museum! We loved it here, exhibit after exhibit of awesomeness.

Steven Renard

Great museum. Had Nintendo Switch systems and a great inde game section. It also showed stuff with famous music peoples. I would go back again FOR SURE. There was a recoding are with instruments also. Pretty great gift shop. I would rate 5.5 out of 5 if possible

Justin Newell

Good experience with some really cool exhibits. Also some things that I just couldn't get excited about, personally. Definitely takes some time getting through everything so ding plan you just run through it. If you're nearby, its worth checking out.

Nicholas Coorey

This is such a unique place. After our first visit we bought a membership. It is uniquely Seattle, while at the same time global in breadth. If you are into music, movies, or popular culture in general; this is a must see to complete your Seattle visit! Tips: Check out the huge, domed Sky Church where music videos play all day long. It’s a beautiful and powerful experience. For the Fantasy buffs: I nerded our seeing the original props and costumes from Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Go on a weekday for a sublime experience. The crowds are much smaller, and if you are there during the off-season you might get lucky enough to have galleries to yourself!

Margo Nordhoff

Amazing and beautiful experience. There is so much to see in this museum, you could spend the whole day there. The horror exhibit on the first floor was my favorite part. Props from the most popular horror movies are on display along with some hanging corpses. The sound booth was also really cool. You go in and there are a few instruments to choose from and you can actually record your own music. I will definitely be back!!!!

Brynna Graham

I absolutely love this museum! The exhibits were all really cool and showcased a lot of unique artifacts such as film props and costumes. I particularly enjoyed the exhibit on horror, as it's a genre that has contributed greatly to our culture but is often viewed as less worthy of study than other media genres. The special exhibit on Marvel was really cool too! It was interesting to see how the stories have been translated/changed for different media formats as well as over time.

Karen Bernhardy

We loved this place! Many displays of pop music icons. Nervana! (Cobain's busted up guitar plus). Clothing from Prince. And more. They have videos and headsets at some of the displays so you can hear from the musician or people who knew them. There are also sound booths that you can go into and make your own music. That's really fun! Movie memorabilia. The Cowardly Lion costume and Dorothy's dress from The Wizard of Oz. And more. Lots more. I recommend you check it out. Very cool!

Jamie Loper

My favorite stop in Seattle. I spent about 3 hours here in awe of all the amazing, interesting, things this place had to offer. Aside from all the history, guitars, and memorabilia for Nirvana and Kurt Cobain (which was AWESOME), they have a ton of information and cool things to check out for Pearl Jam and Prince. If you're into music at all this place is for you. There are also syfy, fantasy, and horror sections. All very interesting. Worth every penny; not that it was expensive. I even bought some shirts, which I rarely do. Check it out - I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Conor McPolin

Exhibits were curated creatively and the staff was super kind. There is an indie games section where you can play loads of indie games. We went in late and they gave us a return pass for the next day or two.

Erica Turner

I love this museum! The exhibits were all cool and showcased a lot of unique artifacts such as film props and costumes. The special exhibit on Marvel was cool too! It was interesting to see how the stories have been translated/changed for different media formats as well as overtime.

Richard Gregory

Really fun, interesting museum. Totally worth the price of admission. The deep dive biography exhibits in various artists were fascinating. If you're a fan of looking up artists on Wikipedia, you'll love losing yourself in the memorabilia.

Ashley Hayhurst

We had a great time here! Maybe not so fun for the one-year-old but she hung in there well enough. Wish we would’ve had more time but we enjoyed it and would go back again!

Sarah Scott

A fun place to visit. There is something for everyone from classic rock to modern pop and from The Princess Bride to the Terminator. Check it out, its just fun.

Rita Nunes

I would say it's an okay museum. 30$ is a bit much for a museum and the expos arent phenomenal. The 3rd floor was the best for me since you get to learn how to play some instruments or jam if you already know how. The indie gaming section is actually pretty cool too but it's a bit intimidating to be the only adult playing among very small kids

Erin Schroettinger

Definitely a must see when you're in Seattle! Each exhibit was fascinating. Of course I'm more of a music than movie fan so it was thrilling to get to read Jimi Hendrix's diary entries or Nirvana's letters to their fans.

Steven Mander

I was going in to the MoPop museum with high hopes and I was let down when I went inside. It is really not as big as it looks. My favorite part was the sound lab it was a cool place where you can play loads of different instruments and even record yourself. It was expensive for amount and quality of content provided inside of the museum. I recommend going here if you love pop culture but if you just need something to do I recommend going to one of the many other places!

Remy Schwartz

This place is a blast! My boyfriend just recently got us memberships which is perfect for cutting down costs. My only complaint is the amount of children running around. Obviously this is not the museums fault, but also of the exhibits are not meant for young children (such as the horror film exhibit) yet there are always kids running around yelling. I definitely will go back though I wish the museum would have age requirements.

Ravey Thirteen

Fantastic exhibits! The instrument tornado is hella impressive and the guitar exhibit blew me away. They allow no - flash photography... I must have taken pictures of everything! Definitely a must see for anyone!

Jason Hart

Well designed, clean, and informative... it touches on a specific selected nitch of pop culture, u will see what they have intended u to see, trouble is if your not a fan of certain selections, it can leave u wanting. For example, I am a huge movie buff and not so much into music and felt left out while my wife was astounded...

Dave Nugent

Awesome interactive inspiring a museum of some our beloved artist and instruments. Highly reco.end an hour or so visit. We stayed for 2 played guitar drums and keyboard...

Jason Gorringe

Lots of fun! As a Pearl Jam fan, I found their large Pearl Jam exhibit to be very interesting. Don't forget to stop by the Sound Lab on the 3rd floor and play some instruments!

Daniela Bravo

The best! It has a spectacular horror movies exhibition if you are a fan of the genre

Jade Tsai

An awesome museum especially for music fans. There are lots of interactive experiences such as recording, mixing, musical instruments etc. Besides, there are indie video games and movie theme areas that will take you a whole day to explore. Definitely a must-see in Seattle!

Rafael Franco

This is a must see in Seattle! It's an all age attraction once it embraces quite diverse matters. I'm very proud and lucky to see the Pearl Jam, Prince, Nirvana and Jimmy Hendrix exhibitions. It's so rich that is possible to spend hours and hours looking and reading the explanatory contents. So it better you go with time enough, it take at least 2-3 hours to cover the main attractions. They also have good attractions to kids, there's a scary movie area with some very realistic dummies they used to make the films characters, there's also a Minecraft exhibits and so on. Prices are OK, visit worth for what it can be learned from.

Cortney Ayers

This museum is totally worth the visit. We spent about 3 hours maneuvering fairly steadily through each exhibit. This museum covers a lot of pop culture from music to movies to video games. The museum is part of the City Pass which makes this value even more worth it!

shirley cerny

For anyone who enjoys pop culture this is a must visit. It is called mopop. The exhibits are extensive and it is well set up. They have a lot of memorabilia from a lot of music artists. This is also one of the choices on your City pass if you purchase one, which I highly advise.

taymazing

Fun museum. I would check that they have exhibits you are interested in before going, $30 is a steep price if you aren’t interested in the specific pop culture they are presenting

Casey Widness

This place is fun for all ages! Lots of exhibits that you can read or just look through. You could spend a couple hours here. It's also free re-entry in case you need to leave and come back!

Amy Badger

So many diverse and interesting exhibits to see here. Everyone from our 4 year old to 44 year old enjoyed their time here. Everything from Nirvana & Prince to Mario Brothers & Star Wars are in here. One of the engaging areas was the sound lab where you get hands on tutorials on a variety of instruments & ways to create music. The free playground outside the museum was the hit with all the kids as well. Worth stopping by before you leave.

Kelsey Coleman

Awesome museum with so many interesting features and pieces. I wish I had gone much earlier in the day so I could have spent more time here! Included in the Seattle CityPass, which ended up being a fantastic deal for us first-time visitors. The staff is incredible. Knowledgeable, friendly, and they have a few very helpful amenities in place for guests who are exploring the city on foot such as bag and coat check. Very convenient location close to a lot of other attractions. I'll definitely be back to spend more time here soon!

Lisa Newton

Loved it. So much fun. Stayed on the top floor for a few hours.

Bill Roper

For the most part it was a nice museum. We liked the movie exhibits the best. The music exhibits were okay. A little hard to Navigate the different floors at first but we got used to it. Staff was okay. If paying to park plan on doing the space Needle too, it is close by.

Jackie Henning

I went to see the Prince exhibit. I was not impressed by any of the collections. The Nirvana exhibit was good. I used a city pass or would have been disappointed and probably asked for a refund.

Kate Milligan

If you like the bands Pearl Jam and Nirvana, you're in luck! Great exhibits about these bands. Unfortunately, the day I went, several of the coolest-looking exhibits were closed. I was not super impressed with the museum as a whole. IMO, there should be discounted tickets if major displays are closed.

Danielle Sparkes

A mix of movie and music history. Was pleasantly surprised by the amount of things they have and the size of the interior. I honestly was half-and-half on even going but I'm very happy I did! If you were born in the 1900s, this is a must for you!

Christina Nye

It was a cool museum. We really enjoyed the movie portion. It was a little off that the two parts are connected but you had to walk outside to get to the different parts.

Jon Sheffield

A must for any film, sci-fi, horror, or music fan. Such a great experience. Loved it and got some real fan vibes exploring the museum.

Richard Englert

If you are in Seattle, this is definitely the place you need to visit. It is ridiculous just how big this place is, my wife and I walked around for almost 4 hours, and ended up having to leave before experiencing everything because they were closing. Give yourself at least half a day to explore this place, because it is well worth your time and money. Lived the marvel exhibit, and seeing all the different heroes come to life in full sized displays. Simply put, it was an amazing experience, that almost a year later, I'm still talking about.

Jessica Eltringham

Lots of interesting sights and facts about some iconic bands. Pretty cool. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Jayson Sheffield

This place is so much fun. Easily kill half a day in here. If you are a fan of movies, television or music this is a must.

Jessica Moditz

So cool!! My favorite is the Horror exhibit. There are so many cool props and videos, and the vibe is so creepy! The whole museum is super pretty, and there's so much interactivity, especially in the SoundLab and the Indie Game experience. All in all, super worth the $30 entrance fee.

Adam Sparrow

Where to start? Playable instruments, sci fi and horror memorabilia, special exhibits......this place is amazing. Visited from out of town and it was well worth the price of admission.

Dana Canfield

The Music galleries consume more than half the museum and then there are 4 small galleries for sci-fi, horror, fantasy and indie games. But there are certainly some unique artifacts. The indie games gallery started to feel a bit like a Nintendo ad, and I wish they had presented it in a way to get more out of it without sitting and playing each game. Most of the music galleries are focused on a specific band, so if you don't happen to love the 3-4 featured bands, it might be harder to enjoy the music sections of the museum. Since I wasn't excited about any of those artists, the visit left me just a bit disappointed for the price. Overall it's a good experience, but I felt like it could have been curated in a way to be more appealing to a broader audience.

Willem 'thunder' Westhuizen

This place is quite breathtaking, even if you don't go inside. It is an architectural masterpiece established in 2000 as the Experience Music Project. Since that time MoPOP has organized dozens of exhibits, some of which have toured across the US and internationally. MoPOP is home to exhibits, interactive activity stations, sound sculpture, and various educational resources.

Kale Hinthorn

My favorite museum of all time hands down. It's definitely most fun if you're already a pop culture geek. Spend a long time in the fantasy exhibit absorbing the enchanted forest vibe

Mikey Rose

What a great time! It's on the spendy side but my friends and I spent five hours here easy, and we even went through pretty fast. It's a fun time if you're looking for something to do in Seattle. I recommend going on the monorail from the mall to the museum.

Ushko Mi

Great place for an all day, modern museum experience! Great for ages 3 to infinity! Be sure to check into their featured exhibition, so many great ones that it will surely make you want to return.

Gabrielle Oldfield

Enjoyed this place so much more than we expected. Our favorite exhibits were the ones on scifi and scary movies. It was a blast. You will especially like it if you are into music history.

Alexander Witkowski

This museum is meant for everyone. They have fantastic movie memorabilia, great guitars, and it is very organized. That being said it is a great museum and I got my pictures with a lot of stuff. If you love wizard of oz, sci- FI, Princess bride, and movies this is a must go. So why a 4/5. It took about 1 hour to get though all the exhibits. The music section is more Wall art and descriptions rather then actually pieces. This is not an issue but the cost is rather high. It’s probably worth 15-20$ but they charge around 30$. Other then that great experience.

Jacques LeJeune

Super fun place to be, hang out, learn, and celebrate the music and culture that put Seattle on the world map. Make sure you visit Andy Wood in the Pearl Jam exhibit - love flourishes!

R C

We drove all the way from the Bay area so that I could let my kids see this place. This place is awesome! If you love music and history and other cool stuff, go here- it's well worth it!

Elnora T. Agustin

The exterior is a treat itself already! It's a very colorful and bold building that cannot be missed when exploring Seattle. It is beautiful at daytime and night!

Tod Standing

So awesome! Laid down on the floor and people walked by us. Got to see some amazing floppy tails!! All sizes too Restrooms are the best for friendly rail tail. Bring lots of money. You'll spend it all on customer convenience in the restroom stalls, but totally worth it ;) The perfect day for me. Got to lay down and enjoy the views with my friends.

William Sharp

It was a cool experience. Favorite part was the sound lab on the 3rd floor. You got to play with various music recording tools and have fun. The cafe downstairs had a solid selection of soft drinks/teas and easy to eat foods. Staff was friendly. Spent about 2 hours there which gave us enough time to see all and play around.

larisa kundilovski

Interesting to see things from famous movies. But it is one-time-visit museum. It won't be interesting to come second or third time.

Nick Tubbs

Worth it! It's got awesome exhibits of popular and relevant stuff. Great Nirvana exhibit as well. Is not too big that you will be exhausted but big enough to be full of some really great items. Location is great too. Walkable from downtown and right next to the needle and museum of glass.

Kaela Jane

I’ve been here every time I’ve gone to Seattle and it makes me smile every time! This time I attended, I was on crutches :( but I was offered a wheelchair and was treated so wonderfully by all the kind workers! Incredible exhibits, amazing staff, great place to visit each time!

Barry Fuller

Neat, but couldn't shake the feeling of a wasted opportunity. Lots of music exhibits and a huge women's fashion exhibit (that didn't seem to be pop culture related) with only a couple of small sci fi & fantasy exhibits. Also no TV exhibit which was quite surprising. Overall well done, just felt like it was only good when it had the chance to be great.

Ken Yoneda Le

Great exhibits that covers music to movies and describes their often overlooked impact on American culture and history

Alexis Morton

The exhibits are so diverse, well-themed, and interactive. Love that the day's admission let's you go in and out of the museum, too, so you could pop over to the Space Needle if your time tickets were further out from your purchase time.

Tom Lynch

Thank goodness this place is around. There is really no sign of the 90s music scene left. It's completely absent outside the museum. The sound lab is great. You can actually say you played guitar, drums etc in seattle. Worth a visit.

Taylor Behling

There is something for everyone here. The incredible exhibits are often interactive but always interesting. There is an exhibit for Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror as well as video games and a great deal of amazing information on locally born artists (Prince, Kurt Cobain, and Jimi Hendrix, to name a few). There is a rotating exhibit that costs a bit extra but is generally worth it. Give yourself lots of time to go through the museum; 3 hours at minimum. Wear comfortable shoes and be ready for many photo opportunities!

Kelsey Delashaw

This museum is so much fun. My friend and I had a blast. So much to look a and do. I loved designing outfits on the mannequin and playing the instruments in the sound room. The guitar display is incredible. Only 4 stars because its expensive.

Andrejs Bondarenko

Place is way overrated for what it has. Would be worth visiting for the third of the admission price as the place does have some interesting artifacts, fun activities (I liked the sound lab the most) and, I admit, it might be a super cool place if you are big fan of certain artists or genres (or if you are an artistic type yourself). For the regular guy it just doesn't have much of the interesting content for the price you have to pay to get here.

Dawn Woods

I love the wonderful legacy that the late Paul Allen of Microsoft left for the people of Washington State to enjoy. I hope that Seattle can continue having more cultural places to visit.

Kathleen Thompson

Really cool museum! Their Pearl Jam exhibit is huge, I loved seeing all the old t-shirts and props. My kids loved the sound garden, fantasy, and sci-fi.

Justice Martin-Bernat

Really awesome experience all around, featuring great exhibits ranging from good music to storytelling and film to the epitome of hands on displays including a room focused on independent games, all playable of course, and, even more notably, the "sound lab" which is made up of several rooms, each containing all the instruments a person would need for a full on jam session, also all playable, and one even holding studio grade recording technology. One of the coolest things in Seattle aside from gas works park, in my opinion, and very highly recommended.

Joel Galam

Best museum in Seattle. you can spend all day here. And you should!

Angelica Gonzalez

Spent hours here with my boyfriend exploring all the exhibits. Especially enjoyed the upstair section where you can play various instruments and there are private jam rooms. So much fun and tons to do. A great place for family to visit too! Definitely great staff and reasonable prices.

Suhas Gillipelli

This museum just has a bunch of weird and random stuff crammed together and labeled, and only 1 out of 100 of the things in there were actually cool. Nothing in there was particularly eye catching. Just remarkably unremarkable.

Daniel Fieldstone

See you when I saw this place is way way way way back in the day it was because I was standing on top of the Seattle space needle and looking down this is back in the day when it was called the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame I really wonder what this place has it now either way pop culture rock ‘n’ roll are all kind of intertwined together when you really think about it

David Popp

We loved all of the music information and my granddaughter loved the horror film info

Jacob Schmitt

What an amazing venue! The House of Horrors exhibit was excellent. We did not expect it and our 15 year old love it! The fantasy exhibit was great as well. The best part for me was the Prince Exhibit! There is something for every age here. Interactive areas as well, the sound rooms were very fun! We think this was one of our favourite things to do in Seattle so far!

Sam Bartleman

Prepare for Seattle’s ultimate nostalgia trip - if you’re a music or movie buff this place will fill your whole afternoon. They have a ton of original movie props from some of the most popular movies from the last forty years, alongside some very engaging sets. The music history sections are interesting but the interactive parts aren’t that fun - basically it’s just karaoke or a drum set you can mindlessly tap on.

RaNae Noble

Absolutely fabulous place to go!! With many galleries to explore and look at including a hands on music lab. Had an amazing time and well worth the time!! Friendly and helpful staff. Parking available across the street and adjacent to the Seattle Center!! Makes for a wonderful day!

Darin Lewandowski

This was the first time visiting the Museum of Pop Culture and my entire Family absolutely loved it!! If you have never had the opportunity to see the Mo Pop Exhibits add it to your "To Do" list today. I say 5 Stars!!

Cindy Rainbow

Great museum with lots to see. I love the wonderful legacy that the late Paul Allen of Microsoft left for the people of Washington State to enjoy. I hope that Seattle can continue having more cultural places to visit in the future as the city continues it's growth and evolution.

Caitlyn Frizzle

Such an amazing way to spend an afternoon. The exhibits we're fantastic, and I learned a lot of very interesting things about some of my favourite movies and artists. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Seattle!

Haresh Maharaj

This museum is wonderfully ridiculously fun. You'll find a giant viewing theater that mimics a concert on your initial entry. Music is on the forefront of this museum with a myriad of exhibits. A personal favorite would be the recording booths which also have a setup to help get your feet wet in the world of music. Next up you'll find genre exhibits that hold former props of many famous shows. Some highlights are Harry Potter and Star Trek. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

Tony DePietro

I spent easily 4 hours here. I am in my late 30s and it's perfect for someone in my age range..amazing movie props and info from all great 70s,80s and on movies..amazing music from nirvana and pearl jam 2 of my favorite bands and so many other amazing things to see when I go back to seattle it's a must stop

Nicholas Souza

It was a cool place to see but if you have a packed day in Seattle, this is one you could probably cross off the list. If you are really into classic rock, you’ll have a lot to see but I was bored because that isn’t my style.

Mariano Abundiz

This museum is AMAZING! My favorite section is the music section, although there are many other attractions here. The customer service is fantastic and the museum is neat and tidy. I've seen different attractions in the times I've come so I would imagine that the museum rotates the different parts of culture. I learned alot about music and alot about how pop culture affects everyday life. I'm looking forward to returning in 2020.

Kevin Hayes

A great way to experience some of the most iconic and influential cultural players in our lifetime. Super interesting. If you are a Hendrix, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or music fan, come here. Also, there are wonderful movie and fashion exhibits.

Xavier Hernandez

Awesome, it was a great experience visiting this museum, lots of stuff to see 3 floors full of music, movies and entertainment. Make sure you plan your visit right it closes at 5 PM so if you're driving from afar take this into consideration, so you can see and experience everything there is. Make sure you go to the shop there is two inside lots of cool stuff and exclusive items.

Bri Z

The displays are okay. There isn't much interaction nor anything especially exciting. Almost everything is behind display cases and no drinks are allowed in the exhibits. The employees were not extremely helpful and mostly rude. One employee came over and told my friend to put her baby's bottle away as breast milk was not allowed in the exhibits. It was pretty extra in my opinion. I won't be going back.

OutNumbered

So many exhibits. So much on music. I will definitely be going back. (Hendrix, Nirvana, Prince... Sound studios. Video games.)

charlie rogers

It was really fun and exciting! I had a great time here with my girlfriend and take a lot of pictures!

Linda Evans

First saw this building in 2013. Did not go in. Thought I would go in this time but that did not happen since we only had about half an hour to tour the museum until it closed. I did not think that was worth the price of admission. We did eat at the restaurant though and had delicious salmon sandwiches. Being in the restaurant allowed me to see enough of the layout of the building to satisfy my curiosity. We took the monorail and zoomed through an archway of the Museum of pop culture. This way we got a real close up look at the aluminum pieces that form the building.

Regina Carter

Visited the museum with extended family including 6 teenagers and 4 parents. I am not a huge pop culture buff, but this museum was fascinating and enjoyable for all 10 of us. If I lived nearby, I would visit often, and I will definitely return next time I am in seattle. I especially enjoyed the rooms where you can jam on instruments, or sing in a sound booth. Allow at least a couple hours, or more, because this place is packed with interesting things to see, watch, listen to, and do. Lunch at the cafe downstairs was also quite good.

Gabrielle Garrett

I came to Seattle knowing nothing, so I looked up the top things to do in Seattle and this was one of my favorites. I think my husband and I spent 4 hours there on a rainy Wednesday and took a short break only to eat lunch right there at Wolfgang Pucks. I wouldn't mind going back. Top notch stuff, especially - well everything. Thanks!

Wendy Murphy

What a fun place to spend an afternoon. Loved the science fiction section, as well as the Worlds of Myth and Magic. Lots of cool stuff to see! Tickets were a bit pricey but that seems to be the norm with museums now, which kinda sucks. I would actually also recommend grabbing lunch at Wolfgang Pucks express restaurant on street level. It is way beyond the normal food you might get at a museum food court!

Bjorn St. Clair

This is one of the greatest museums I have ever been to. I personally loved the Nirvana and Fantasy sections but the Jam Room was a great way to really give everyone an experience of music. The architecture is beautiful, even if a bit easy to get lost in (but your in Seattle anyways...), and a great use of copper as a main color. If your in Seattle and need absorb yourself in the history of all things popular, come here.

TC Goodlord

One of my favorite places. I try and go once to twice a year if not more. Look for the limited display areas other wise it all tends to be the same. If it is your first or second time you will have a good time.

Emma Elizabeth Fischer

It was neat, but really not a lot to see. There was some pretty cool stuff, just not a whole lot of it.

Chris Cullen

My wife and I loved it. The kids probably more liked the marvel & movie memorabilia. Great place to visit & sure something for everyone to enjoy.

Hizni Salih

Really enjoyable day out. Seeing film props and costumes from the icon movies was really exciting. Only wish there was more to see

Tiffany Turner

Really enjoyed the Prince exhibit. Very interactive displays. Lots of fantasy, sci-fi. Loved the sound lab. Even managed to jam a little on the keyboard in the sound lab. Right near the Space Needle. Easy to visit both in a day.

Wilson Lin

Super cool visit! Awesome fun to check this out while in town. Always worth it, highly recommend it.

David Smith

This was really fun. It has a bit of something for everyone. I would have preferred some areas to be bigger but it was still good. My kids loved the sound room! They enjoyed learning about how the instruments worked.

Christine Cunningham

We went for the free museum day and had a blast. Most of it was relatable and brought back good memories. Id suggest it for all ages. Something for everyone and i really mean that.

Stephen Chow

The exhibitor really well done. Obviously if you take particular interest in the subject matter it is really great. For instance if you are big Jimi Hendrix freak or a Nirvana fan or Pearl garden fan the exhibits are really detailed and show a lot of history which she can't get anywhere else. Overall the exhibits were very tastefully done. There are some negatives that in the music section upstairs a lot of the instruments are broken and not working properly and exhibits like the mixing station does not work properly as well. We are able to spend a good amount of time there and my kids found it interesting even though they were young at nine and 11

Ben C

Great place to visit for our whole family. Kids from kindergarten and up are likely to find something captivating. We especially liked the interactive music exhibits.

Alan Bengtson

It was a neat experience for a one time thing. I'd say I only really cared about 50% of the exhibits but that's standard for museums I think plus I'm definitely a movie>music buff. The fantasy, sci-fi, and horror exhibits were by far the best and a couple of pieces made me super excited (I'm looking at you Highlander gear).

John Ball

Fun museum, it'll take you at least an hour just exploring the exhibits, but there are lots of interactive exhibits you can spend more time with.

Ariel Motaghedi Alfaro

Super fun to experience. The Sky Church has events you can sit and watch if you'd like, they play music videos when it's not in use and is a great spot to chill. We went to see the Prince exhibit and it was amazing. There is so much to do here we thoroughly enjoyed going. Since we're locals, we only go when an exhibit comes in that we're really excited about, but if you're super into music and film, it would be worth it to get the pass for a few visits a year.

Barry Wegner

This place is awesome! Great SciFi and excellent Horror displays...Fantasy also very cool. Prince, or the artist formerly known as, and Guitar exhibit fun to see. Sound Lab was a fantastic opportunity to experience playing guitar, drums, keyboard, vocals... Or jam in sound proof booths, even if you haven't played before. There's more also... They were preparing for a private event for tonight and I thought that would make for a great party!

Quentin Yara

This is a really fun place to come visit. It's like a giant toy chest. They have some pretty awesome exhibits to tour. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and they were simply great to be around.

Austin Brooks

I was expecting more pop culture. Nothing on toys, games, or technology that changed pop culture. Just a bunch of memorabilia from movies and TV shows, still cool to see but not for the price tag of going.

Ariel McFalls

Pretty cool exhibits for fantasy, sci fi, and music! Each is a bit short, but if you know someone who's into it, then they'll have a blast. The architecture of the building is really cool, and they've decorated the interior of the exhibit rooms to match with the theme, which I think adds a lot to the atmosphere. Definitely a great choice instead of the zoo for people who have city passes.

Emily Witte

It had some really fun exhibits and had something for everyone. Although it was a bit music heavy for my taste and it was also a bit pricey.

Melissa Lutz

Really fun museum! We experienced exhibits about horror movies, fantasy movies, sci fi movies, and various musical artists, The sound lab was fun!! Our teen enjoyed the gaming area as well. We spent about 2.5 hours at the museum. Even though I am not a fan of the musical artists that were featured, the exhibits were still interesting. Some fun interactive activities as well.

Haley Miller

It was an ok place to visit. I think if you're into classic rock, alternative & grunge metal, it would probably be amazing. It's not exactly my style, but I do think some people will like it.

Josh Diesel

I love it here. The best exhibit they had here was when they had featured marvel comics. It would be cool to see them have a DC exhibit. Highly recommend checking this place out

Tristan Harris

This has been a life long dream to come here. It was worth every minute I was there. Seriously, it was fantastic. I could go on with more adjectives of how wonderful of a place it is but, if you're a music lover like myself, it's like Disney Land. Do yourself a favor and pop on over to MoPop, you won't regret it.

Katheryn Larson

Definitely worth the price of admission. My family went on a weekday, and it wasn't too crowded. It is a beautiful museum, with a lot of hands on things to do. There are plenty of places to sit and watch videos, or just appreciate the art when your feet get tired. The Prince from Minneapolis display was amazing!!

ubergeek52289

So this place is pretty cool, they have a ton of movie props from all over the place and the rotating exhibits were great. The only issue I had was that there wasn't a clear indication that there was another section of the museum. Some guy ended up telling us as we were leaving to check it out.

Rhonda Gilezane

Would be worth visiting for the third of the admission price as the place does have some interesting artifacts, fun activities (I liked the sound lab the most) and, I admit, it might be a super cool place if you are big fan of certain artists or genres (or if you are an artistic type yourself). For the regular guy it just doesn't have much of the interesting content for the price you have to pay to get here.

Bella Official

This place is amazing is so way cool , this place is the best place to see a concert show. All the cool stuff in there to look at, the guitar chandelier there so much to see . This building is like no other it's one of a kind . It's a big part of Seattle. This is a fun place to visit. I love it here . I have seen some very cool shows here. I took a video here of Paul Allen playing guitar. It was a cool night Thank You Mo Pop & Paul Allen

Virginia Gray

This was a plan tastic place to visit. If you are using your city pass make sure to check of this museum out. Tons of hands on for the kids and a wonderful assortment of rock memorabilia as well as a fantasy and technology items. They have some original costumes from Star Wars as well as guitars from tons of musicians.

Aurora Perez

There's a lot more than music tribute to musicians in this Museum. For those Horror movie enthusiast or science fiction;Star Trek. Guitar lover's of fine music

Summer Holeman

We spent most of the day here, exploring the different exhibits. Great variety for all ages, thorough Nirvana exhibit (my favorite), fun interactive music and video game exhibits also. The Wolfgang Puck cafe and bar had decent food and drinks as well. So glad we made this part of our trip to Seattle!

oH bOi

Very fun! If you’re in that area I highly recommend.

Ryan Ptomey

Had a great time here while checking out Seattle. Leave yourself time to check out the music lab, where you can play instruments on your own or with guided programs. My favorite part of that exhibit was learning exactly what different guitar effects pedals do! The genre sections are really fun, too. They have whole spaces devoted to Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Horror, and each one felt like the designer really loved the genre.

Peter Cavalli

Nice place. I am not a big Pearl Jam fan but the exhibit was cool and I like them more now. The Sci-Fi and Horror exhibits were cool also.

H Brown

Awesome horror movie and fantasy section! Great to see the music section and influences. Would def recommend. Save a few bucks by buying online.

hülya karakaya

This is my 2nd time here and it was again so amazing. You can find every about pop culture here from guitar players to movie character’s props and spooky creatures. In every section, you can find a different world. I liked the new exhibit of “A Queen Within Adorned Archetypes”. It is a must place to visit in Seattle. Dazzling and mysterious!

Margie Bou

I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. Very fun. Lots of memorabilia.

Jeff Williams

Went on a whim. The music side was great for me, and I really loved all the exhibits. The science/fantasy collection s aren't as deep as the music collections, but we're still very good

Anders Juul Overvad

A cool and different museum. Astonishing architecture that are intriguing and welcoming you when you approach it. There are something for all ages inside. It's definitely an recommendation from me.

Katherine Nicole

Such a cool place! If you're a movie and/or music buff, you gotta visit this little gem! I particularly enjoyed their horror movie section, epic!!

Victor Balling

Pretty sweet music sections. Loved the scifi and fantasy sections. They somehow knew a MN guy was coming and had a huge Prince exhibit! Top notch service!

Desiree Jones

Really made my trip to Seattle. Clean and staffed. Loved all the exhibits...the horror was my FAV ! A must see if you're in town.

Beverly Swaile

This place was amazing. Right by the space needle. The kids will enjoy the gaming Room and the adults will appreciate the music and the Guitar collection. See the original wicked witch hat from the wizard of oz. Read a letter from the editor regarding game of thrones. See harry potter memorabilia. Will visit again.

Victor Lipton

Great place to look at cultural items and art. Has some great history about pop cultural artists.
