Informative well done although rather simplistic and kind of dated in its mannequins and information. Apparently they're going to updated and improve it in the next few months with a new opening of November with larger examples artifacts equipment and vehicles looking forward to seeing the new Improvement as the current one while informative and well-done is somewhat lacking

This is a small museum that showcases the contribution of women to the armed services from the revolutionary war to the present. It took about an hour to view everything and watch the videos. I took my 6 year old with me and she enjoyed trying on the different uniforms.

They do an amazing job telling the story of female Soldiers throughout history. Learned a great deal while walking through the informative exhibits. I would recommend a visit with your daughters!! Even though the museum is on Ft. Lee, you can go through the Visitor's gate and get a temporary pass for the day.

This museum really focused on women's contributions from very early in history to the acceptance to women's value and contributions in the miltary... both non-combat thru today's female soldiers. (Note... This was an Army facility and didn't acknowledge any other military branch contributions by women).

My mom @I visited Friday August 5 2016 and was very impresed. Being prior military I was never stationed at Ft Lee so I had no idea such a museum existed. To see how the military has changed over the decades and the roles women played was very interesting to me. The uniforms they once wore as opposed to the ones I wore was still such a big difference. I'm glad I got to visit. I left there with lots of pictures and history all inclusive.

This Museum affected me so emotionally that I thought my heart was going to explode in my chest. I never knew so many women and different races of American women played such a vital part in our country's history in battle. I also understand that these women had to fight to get into the military and to show that they could contribute to our countries safety and Future. But I also understand that these women had to fight first their own countries chauvinistic, racist men in order to take their place in the history and battle of this country. I was very proud that our country historians had not forgotten the women of all Races in our country who contributed to our country's success. God bless America and the woman that made it.

History the women's museum was great. Thank you to all the military

The US Army Women's Museum is important because it captures the extensive history of women contributing to the success of our nation during peace and war. The museum does not adequately paint a picture of the struggle for equality our female warriors have endured to gain the positions they now hold, nor does it display any of the recent gains in terms of expanded service in combat arms units. You won't find any Ranger tab bearing females in the pedestrian displays. The art gallery has some nice pieces reflecting women's service on display. If you are in the Ft. Lee area, I recommend checking out the U.S. Army Quartermaster Museum and the U.S. Army Women's Museum together. They are adjacent to one another and you can casually tour both in about 90 minutes. Civilians can obtain visitor passes at the Ft. Lee gate and both museums are within a 1/4 mile of the visitor's center.
