As you can read, it reaches an opinions average is very positive, and it's based on a very large number of opinions, so we can conclude that the valuation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to leave their opinion when they are happy with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to write tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum is classified in the category of Museum.
An amazing place full of history and free admission.
More variety than you can imagine...but needs better organization. After 3 hrs, you've seen a lot but hard to put in some kind of order.
Really well presented firearms displays. Could have spent hours here.
The was harrassed by the security there
Great verity of beautiful guns but some displays it's hard to figure out what's what.p
Lots of guns. Historical information was added to give meaning to the displays of guns. Many of the guns were demonstrations of how affluent persons can spend money on trivia. In some cases the art on the guns was amazing. In others, the art looked like a distasteful tattoo. The attempt to link the second amendment with killing large animals, opulent displays of wealth, conquering a race or continent, killing millions in wars, and keeping a militia was a stretch in all but one case. I was along for the ride. I'll never go back.
Nice displayes, however the electronics did not match some of the displays and some had no description at all.
The displays were awesome. We liked it better than the Smithsonian museums. Tour guide was friendly and informative. Loved the movie prop gun room.
Displays reveal a history of our great nation.
Great time. The showroom was bigger and more extensive than we expected.
My family loved seeing all the firearms and historic items. My husband and son took their time and looked at EVERYTHING. They loved it.
We were on our way elsewhere when it was suggested we stop here. What a pleasant surprise, a very nice break from touring museums in overcrowded metro areas. If you don't know much about firearms, this is a great place to learn. Admission and parking are free. You can also get discounted lifetime memberships here.
Very impressive collection of vintage and current firearms. Found out that a majority of them were donated to the NRA. Just to much to take in this visit. Will have to return to finish up what I missed. There is a very impressive shooting range in the lower deck of the garage and they are very reasonably priced to shoot if you are a member. There is always something going on here so you would need to check the website and calendar to find out what they have planned.
I have always wanted to come here. I finally made it and it was definitely worth the trip. If u love guns and the history of them. Then this is the place for u.
Whether you shoot or not this is a place I'm fantastic historic objects from the 1500 all the way to the present with some truly remarkable artifacts. Such as the accompanying photo of princess Diana personal gun which she shot quite a bit
If you are into firearms this is an excellent spot to check out. They have firearms thousands of things to look at from revolutionary war up to modern times. They also have Rambos movie prop firearm and Scarfaces "little friend". The cost is free so won't cost you an arm or a leg. If you feel like shooting there is a NRA indoor range in the same building.
WOW. What a tribute to our heritage.
Museum is free. If you like guns there are endless displays of amazing, rare guns.
Great little display of amazing firearms. I wish it was bigger and had more on display.
If you enjoy firearms and the history of firearms, this is tha meseum for you! Unbelievable ariety and displays will hold your attention for hours. Knowledgeable curators can answer your questions and give you amazing detail on historic firearms from a gun that came over with the pilgrims on the Mayflower to the fancy hunting rifles of Teddy Roosevelt! It's a stunning and fascinating place to visit! I recommend it highly!!
It's a really neat museum to visit. Provides a history of firearms and has some interesting exhibits. Would recommend for weapons enthusiasts. It's also has a nice eatery near it.
Not a gun person but the hus and is and we were in the area so we stopped by. It was actually pretty cool. The layout is a bit confusing so it's easy to get turned around but it isn't an enormous place so no worries. Definitely worth a trip for the gun-lover in your family!
What an amazing display of the heritage of innovation and creativity in America's gun industry. God Bless America
Massive collection of firearms. Enjoyed the Truck and auto show and the Museum.
If you are interested in firearms or firearm history, then this is a must visit for you. I have been to numerous museums and none even come close to the sheer number of firearms here. When you finish one area, there always seems to be a corner you missed with more stuff. I really like the themed rooms. The floor layout was a bit weird but I cannot blame them. If I had floor to ceiling cases of guns, I too would have trouble fitting it all. When I was there I think they were upgrading databases because not all of the touchscreen info stations worked. Kinda bummed about that but the gift shop is stocked with books of all sorts and prices on all items are not gouging you either.
Highly informative and interesting historical museum. Definitely recommend checking it out
Great museum! They have a lot of unique and rare firearms. The arrangement is done really well! They really pack a lot in.
This is an awesome place to visit and see the history of firearms as well as history of the world. Free admission too!
Awesome Museum. Spent about 3 hours looking at what they had. And that was just a quick overlook. You can probably spend a day if you want to look at every gun.
I'm not that interested, but this is as good as a museum can get when it's about nothing but guns. (The exhibits on taxidermied animals and firearms in cinema add some nice variety.)
My favorite museum, well worth the visit.
This museum was free to enter, and there was ample parking. I enjoyed the displays because of the history behind each of the pieces. My favorite was the display about Wild Earp and the one for Annie Oakley. My kids enjoyed learning about the history of our country here, especially regarding the Revolutionary war. It wasn't just guns, there were other artifacts and displays. There was a tour which looked informative, but we didn't go on it.
I was amazed the collection was entirely donated. I have never seen such an amazing catalog of firearms. Free AND worth a visit. Firearms are not just for murder, they are also rich in history, artistry, craftsmanship.
Well worth the trip I hope to go back again
NRA are terrorists! 0/10 but in reality, great place 10/10, free, great collection, all in all a great place
Amazing collection of firearms. My wife was fascinated by the ornate firearms of the past especially. Do yourself a favor and allow at least two to three hours to look at the details of each weapon and read the accompanying notes. I will return and spend more time there next time.
Lots of history and beautiful displays had a great time.
Very good place to visit as a Firearms enthusiast
An absolute .must. The history in this place is amazing.
I am a proud american who enjoys target shooting and skeet shooting.Great museum, but the FBI display of mobster arms is better in my opinion. Stories told in this museum are displayed directly and given between the lines. I particularly enjoyed learning about the story of bump stocks and large magazines (up to 100 bullet drums) and the connection to politics. I personally feel safe with shotguns and pistols in my home for protection, and don't believe I should have the right to buy military guns for domestic use. They should add an exhibit on my favorite radio personalities -- some say they will keep thier guns with large magazines regardless of the laws. The NRA doesn't ask for my opinion on lobbying, but they should add it to the museum. I pay the NRA to get gun safety lessons to my son and they use that funding for lobbying to keep large capacity guns in american homes, something I don't believe in. The large capacity mags generally have the purpose of target fun and offense rather than defense.
Very very cool place to go and free admittance! You don't have to be a gun lover to appreciate the displays and the rich detailed history associated with the weapons on display! *Bonus points if you can name 1/4 of this collection without reading the plaques! Great place to just stop in even if you just have a few minutes. It's free! And this is Merica' after all and you are too! So stop in and enjoy, they accept donations and have kiosks for easy lifetime NRA membership signups.
Really enjoyed looking now with firearms from civil war to private collections. Even had some cannons
No person, Institution, Organization, or branch of any government thereof should ever become; Judge, Jury, and Executioner. In comparison of media reports and in context of a simple visit, a reasonable person will understand guns are a simple tool not even considering the actual rights granted to all of us under the constitution of the country. I have been a member since 2011 I think. I am also a Life member. And a Golden Eagle. However, I received my basic training from the Isaac Walton League of America and online State PD verification free of charge. You can do the same and more. Everyone love and care for their children in one way or another. And at times caring for others children is the best reflection of how much you treasure yours. The point is I am certain no member of the NRA wants to see random shootings. I do not however speak for the management or staff of the NRA. I encourage you to visit the Museum in Fairfax, VA to get your own perspectives of firearms and the organization. Tours are usually at 1pm but you can walk through doing any open hours. Travel through safe jurisdictions to visit the shooting range but you'll need to bring your own legally acquired firearms.
Movie prop gun gallery was my favorite part
The most amazing well put together collection of intresting firearms I have ever visited.
This is a great opportunity to learn about American history without any cost to the public. A must see for any visitor to DC
Well worth the trip. Cleanest washrooms ever!
Amazing place to see historical guns
Amazing collection of firearms. Nice people throughout.
This place is very interesting though one of the historic parts is far from the truth that you learn in college. So while it's nice to look at the firearms I would not bother reading the things on the walls seems they need to take a few history classes.
Great piece of history that every man or woman should experience in their lifetime
Awesome museum
Wonderful displays. Staff was courteous and helpful. One of the staff came out to chat with me about the museum and certain items on display. Very knowledgeable. Will go back if I am back in Fairfax again.
Great free museum, must see for guns lovers
Most fun is getting people who hate guns to tour the place. Invariably, in my experience, they enjoy it more than anyone. The guns of Hollywood is always a big hit.
Fantastic collection of firearms. The museum is very well laid out and takes you through the history of firearms through the ages. The curator was out walking the floor when we were there and his knowledge and stories are great. You can get a tour from him at certain times of the day. If you have an interest in firearms you could easily spend 3-4 hours here, even if you don't have a big interest give yourself at least an hour to look around at the impressive collection. They also have the expensive rare room with some truly special items. We found out that they have 2 other locations around the nation in Raton, New Mexico and Springfield, MO. We are looking forward to visiting the other locations
Very nice.
Even better than I thought it would be! A must see.
Always gracious hosts! Thank you.
If you Like and Appreciate Firearms... Prepare to Die...OMG! I want this...I want THAT! Need to find a way to welcome Members...was. Member...then Life...then upgraded from there...at Least say hey...I drove from Louisiana to Fairfax... I was. member...Then Life...Then Endowment. Ya Think someone would have a way to say something to Members when visiting....Nope...
The museum tells a story of the development of long rifles, revolvers, pistols and other firearms used in the be development of the United States, the defense provided in times of war, and enjoyment received by many sportsmen in hunting game and shooting targets, clays and Olympic events. A must place for those wanting to hear a true history of guns. If not, then those are not objective enough, you could learn something
Quite interesting. I enjoyed the section dedicated to the entertainment industry. Additionally, as a senior citizen, I got a chuckle when I saw the coon hat displayed in the diorama of the young boy's bedroom. The coon hat is identical to the one I have owned for several decades, stored away from my grands' reach. God bless America! We must all join together to help continue to protect our rights for life, liberty, and property in America!
Very interesting and informative, with a huge history to explore.
Great place.
awesome collection of guns from old to new
Great museum.
Museum of firearms? Makes no sense. Should be turned into a museum of peace and harmony.
The NRA museum is an incredibly cool collection, but it lacks a lot of learning opportunities. What is a gun? What is the history of guns? How has gun safety evolved? How are guns still changing today? This is more an oversized display case and less a museum in the conventional sense. I would definitely put this lower than most of the museums in the DC area.
A trip everyone; gun owner or not; should make. Rich history of our country. Knowledgable staff. Friendly atmosphere. Definitely a two trip visit just encompass everything. Plenty of parking.
A great stop if you are interested in the history of firearms and the Second Amendment. The exhibits range from the first black powder firearms to modern weaponry. There are sections that cover movie guns, and many others have a lot of history behind them. Take the time to speak to a docent - they have a lot of knowledge and can tell you the stories behind many of the exhibited guns. We heard quite the story about a particular shotgun...
Firearms museum, staff, and range are the best
Good exhibit.. not much explanation.
Best ever, a must if in the area
I respect the second amendment, but when this was written, there were no automatic or half-automatic weapons. Hard to believe grown-ups are unable to take these out of reach of private persons.
We spent 4 hours at the museum. You would not believe the amount of firearms that are on display. I'm not a gun collector, or an expert on guns, I don't even own a gun, but what an amazing display of the different types of firearms. I learned a lot.
It was great fun and informative. Anyone who has an interest in firearms and a member should visit. Everyone was welcoming, especially after the snow storm that hit the region.
More firearms in one place than I have ever seen. Great displays and totally free, great gift shop also. A must see for firearms collectors when in the DC area!
Just a must see museum.
This is a really cool place. Easy to access, clean (almost spotless by museum standards), great collection of firearms, and they did a guided tour at 1pm the day we visited which was very entertaining and informative. The tour lasted about 90 minutes. If you know nothing about firearms, and if you have no appreciation for the role firearms has played in the history of the world (both good and bad), then don't waste your time here. If, however, you have an appreciation but perhaps only know basics about firearms, then I think you would enjoy visiting the museum. Even if you only have a really short attention span, a 30-45 minute visit is worth the trip. Entry is free, parking is free and they have a cafe in the other tower in case you are hungry.
Great museum, amazing amount of guns on display including some very historic!
Movie guns are a lot of fun to place!
I went car show that was there this morning. A wonderful turnout and show. The crowd was good size with a full variety of car trucks and motorcycles. Open until 3pm today. CHECK IT OUT !!
The NRA national firearm museum was awesome because Tony and I got a suvernier at the NRA national firearm museum.
100% NRA propaganda. Find somewhere else if you actually want to learn about real gun history.
Very impressive collection of firearms. The collection ranges from very old muskets to modern firearms. My favorite part was the movie collection showing the firearms and what movie they are associated with. They have a whole section dedicated to John Wayne which was awesome!
Hidden gem most do not know about, I highly recommend this spot to see one of the most amazing collections ever assembled.
We thought their exhibits were amazing! So many firearms, so little time. Wish we started earlier and allotted more time to spend in the museum. Nice gift shop as well.
Great collection of guns. very good display on the genesis of the second amendment. would have liked to see more technical information on the difference between shooting a black powder gun and a cartridge since most people will never have that experience. looking forward to going back
First time there and the museum is very decent. Spent 60 mins there. It would be even better if they have videos on gun development.
Extensive collection of historic firearms & a tour pointing out notable firearms and famous people from yesteryear.
Amazing place and history
An amazing collection of firearms. Interesting things to read about the different firearms of the different times and countries. Over 3000 rifles on display, and handguns and shotguns. Love being here and supporting our 2nd Amendment.
Even if you are not a gun enthusiast you will find this place fascinating. The range of guns is incredible. They even have a wheel lock musket that is believed to have belonged to a pilgrim from the Mayflower.
This is a great collection of firearms. There are collections of firearms used in movies, historical events, hunting classics and modern weaponry
Outstanding historical display of our nation's firearms. A must see for all history buffs.
Great Museum Tour and the Range was good as well.
Very cool.. so much to see, a must see if your in the area.
Worth the effort to go through saw some works of art.
Awesome place. Really too much info to absorb at one time. I was in awe about how many guns and the early gun.
This place was amazing! We took a guided tour, which is a must, and we were very pleased. The collections were substantial. So much history. Some people have been so generous to donate their own collection to the museum. Millions of dollars worth. The historical worth is priceless!!
Museum has great collection of guns used in our American history.
The collection is comprehensive from the earliest matchlocks to arrive in the New World, to competition, military, and hunting arms as well as interesting collections of artfully engraved specialty guns. Free as well. Worth the trip for the officinado.
I loved this museum. As a proud gun nut I could've spent so much more time here. My favorite exhibits were definitely Annie Oakleys rifle and pistol and the exhibit on movie guns. I hope to be able to go back again one day!
Beautiful machinery from the moment you walk in. Real history within these walls. If you get the chance and you have an interest it is Definitely worth the time. Plus the admission is free.
A very tight museum with a nice collection of very high quality firearms. The staff is professional and of the utmost respect for patrons. For a free museum is definitely worth a visit, however, even for a small fee, they could use that to organize the exhibits a bit better and broaden the usage of space. If you're a firearms buff then you won't need a guide, but if you're there to learn about mechanical or the history, there are better museums to visit. All in all, a great place to look if you're in the DC area and into firearms.
Had a car show this weekend at the NRA HQ great show the staff that works there are really nice the cafe area was clean with good food had a great time
Lots of guns. Very nice set up
Firearms museum amazing collection and its free!
I never realized just how significant the NRA is. I knew they had influence-I love what they stand for and accomplish. Just based on the awesome/unbelievable museum displays they are seriously deep. The museum has on display weapons that are beyond dollar value-priceless!
Awesome collection and free!
This place is Awesome!! So much to see a definite must see.
Amazing collection of superior artwork on engraved Firearms. Some excellent historical examples. Only caveat some of the commentary is not exactly unbiased.
Legendary is life, important museum
Very enjoyable. A small museum, very well laid out. The firearms on display are historic and some are incredibly beautiful. The exhibits change so a second visit should be just as interesting. We were only there for an hour, but would have enjoyed staying longer if we had more time.
This place is awesome. I stop in here everytime I'm in this area
Very interesting, short tour but worth the stop.
They are more than just weapons they are works of art and tools when you see them up close You get the sense of the history when you look at each piece and realise that it wasn't just man that made us were we are today but his tools.
The history enclosed here is just mind boggling! Loved it -and we support gun rights to law abiding citizens. A must see!
The whole place is about rich people gun collections and guns history lessons in the form of signs that might get you tire of reading. I don't care much about the history of guns so I was done with the exhibits in 30 minutes and it felt very repetitive, it was like they have too much of the same stuff. but the place is free so is worth trying if your in the area, parking is free. Fun fact: only museum without a weapons check point, you walk right in.
If you want a TRUE history of firearms then this is the place to be. Took a 2-hr guided tour - awesome. So much to learn about.
Great stuff. We needed 2 full days to do it right, but was worth the time that we spent there. We will surely go again!
I have no desire to visit this place!
Ok so here's the thing, I love museums... I love all kids of museums, even if I'm not down with the whole message of the NRA, I am 100% down with a well curated museum to keep history alive and to show the public things that they otherwise might not see. This is just barely that. The "museum" has all of the guns and other artifacts needed to make an amazing museum and they are technically displayed for visual consumption by the public (also kudos to whole thing being free). The issue that I have is that the exhibits seem to be laid out in a some vague way that has very little flow which had me turned around more than once. It is barely chronological in order. On top of this there were items with little to no description without going to the randomly placed touch screen information centers (see pictures below where an item is marked 13 but 13 does not even appear on the description board. All in all if you love the NRA, or love firearms, this collection is massive and you'll probably enjoy it. If you love history and museums, I'd take this as a solid pass and drive a little further down the road to a better one.
Great collection, well presented. For a small museum, it's got a huge collection and it is easy to spend a few hours here.
Amazing collection of historically significant firearms. Go through on your own or take the 1:00 guided tour.
Awesome museum! Great collection of firearms on display
An excellent presentation of Firearms throughout history. The museum is free, but can be a little confusing to get into at first. Once inside the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. Well worth the trip to see! There is also a museum store with lots of NRA gear and accessories.
It was good and there are a lot of historical rifles there but I don't collect older rifles so it was not as interesting as it could be.
Awesome experience of so many guns and history behind it. Seeing is believing.
Nice place to visit when you are in the area. Great museum.
Museum is great and a must see. Yours are available and a chance to see the NRA up close is a must for everyone. Tommy Guns, rifles of all sorts and ages is truly something to view. This place lets you walk though free of charge too. Tips are graciously accepted for a wonderful & complete exhibit. Do take this opportunity.
I wish I had more time for my visit. I plan on going back for a guided tour. Some of the pieces on display are fabulous works of art.
Great job. Love all of the information and displays. Keep fighting the good fight thank you for all that you do to protect our freedoms
They have so many guns, love this place
Excellent musuem that'll teach you about how people use the 2nd Amendment to protect freedom.
Excellent trip for any firearms hostorian
Very cool place. Much larger and much more to see than expected.
This is the mothership. If you are a freedom-loving American and interested in history, you need to go see this. For all you hand-wringing liberals out there This is what men used to be like.
This is a wonderful place to visit and see the history of firearms. For me it was like going to a hot rod car show you want to look everything there and dream of owning it all.
They have lots to see from unique and historical. It’s free and the cafe is a great value, they don’t take advantage of you like most museums.
NRA. Great place. History of rifles, firearms, liberty of guns in USA. Very cool place who loves guns and military culture. Whole history of era. Recommend to visit.
I own so many guns and coming to this place makes you feel like a kid again. this place is a must I would like to donate something to them just so people can see.
Amazing Info. Great tours. Some old some new. Great for the whole family
Fantastic collection of firearms from the Pilgrim landing at Plymouth to the current military issue weapons.
There were a lot of cool and unique firearms that I thought I'd never see in person. The museum is free so you have no excuse not to go!
The rotating exhibits ensure you'll find something new every time you go. If you can't find what you're looking for on the kiosks, you can ask the front desk guard.
I'm not really a huge gun nut, but this museum was amazing. I wasn't expecting much, I was shocked at all that was shown. Mayflower and Jamestown Guns, President Lincoln's firearms, US Military firearms, a Star Wars Stormtrooper rifle, etc, etc. Through the guns, the museum told the history of our country and the world. I was thankful that this was not some NRA propaganda museum, it was very professional. I would highly recommend it.
Amazing Displays, Awesome historical Displays also
Its mind blowing collection of Rifles, Gun and other Arms.
More rifles than you can count. Mostly all historic Must enjoy the genre too enjoy i would think.
Absolutely fantastic! The location is small, but it is packed with amazing exhibits, and information. We did a quick run through, on our way to something else, but saw enough to realize we could spend quite a few hours there. The exhibits change very often according to the staff, so this will probably be regular outing for us. Plus it's free.
Interesting, would flip a truck to go see, none the less interesting
If you like guns and this is one of the best museums in the country to see them
Great museum with some exceptional historic firearms
Very organized and their virtual information it's interactive. You can pick out a gun and get more details on it by using the tablets, pretty neat
Very cool place could have spent all day and security was very friendly. Will definitely go back when I have more time to look and read
This museum is an amazing adventure with thousands of firearms spanning all eras. They have JFK's Presidential pistol, MacArthur's servuuce weapon to Chris Kyle's sniper rifle! Amazing stuff & is FREE to ALL active NRA members. Then you can hit the range for some target practice! Awesome day!
Cell Doc @ Fair Oaks Mall One of the best place to visit in Fairfax
If you enjoy being an American and lube your freedom sticks with melting snowflakes then you'll enjoy the fine art and craftsmanship of everything in there! Items from around the world and things you've never heard of on display. The free tour is WELL worth your time. You could spend an easy 3 hours reading and admiring the beauty of all things perfect.
