This Museum corresponds to the category of National museum.
This is a great museum with a mix of interactive and historical displays. You get a real feel for the life of a Marine, including Boot Camp. I liked the Vietnam War display where you walk out the back of a CH-46 Sea Knight into a Fire Base: very realistic. The museum also have a great series of aircraft displays. School age kids will love the whole experience.
This was an absolutely excellent museum. Every part of it was extraordinary. Complete History of the corps along with memorabilia from each war they participated in. Outside the museum there are paths that lead you along the grounds that are lined with statues of importance.
It had more to see. We will have to return to see what we missed the 1st time around.
Fabulous place...they did a fantastic job of capturing realistic views of so many different things. So Nicely done..my brother was visiting me this weekend..overmet our expectations ....& The trails outside w/ historical content, statues & tributes & benches with nature was just beautiful!
Very informative and we'll put together to tell the Marine Corps story. Do lab to visit again
History is awesome. Marine Corps history is even better.
This is an amazing museum that is worth making the trip! Everything is played out in an efficient way and I learned more than I thought I would. Make sure to check out the Korean War exhibit and feel the cold as you immerse yourself into the environment. Will be bringing my kids back to feel and experience the rich history of the Marines.
We went for the Robotic event and this was an eye opener for my son, but the Museum had fun things for kids. Really nice art and on our way out my son got to see a drown fly.
Extremely productive and informative visit. One of the best museum I have visited. With great outside walking paths with memorials. This is a very nice museum with outstanding displays of historical significance for the Marine Corps and our Nation. Awesome place to visit.
Great history of the Marines. More exhibits being added all the time
It's incredible! Just beautifully directed. So much history! Much more than I could imagine. There is not enough time in the day to go through the whole museum. I thoroughly enjoyed every section and so excited to see the new room developing. We plan to come back as soon as that is ready. Thank you so much for all your hard work and thank you to the staff who was pleasant. Thoroughly the whole display was outstanding! Just absolutely beautifully put together with so much heart and love.
Good visit to learn about the Marines' history and share with my family. Can't wait till they open their new exhibit.
Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Even now, without the expansion, it would take 2 days to go through inside and a wonderful "honor" walk outdoors. Details are superb. Very life like. Just like the Corps. Wonderful in every detail.
Wish I had more time to enjoy it.
This was an excellent museum of not only the Marine Corps, but American History. It was exciting and interactive. There were plenty of things to keep kids interested.
Amazing museum. We have wanted to visit for a long time
The detail and time they have dedicated to this place is beyond amazing. Took my 8 year old son and he was amazed and he was so curious. They did a great job explaining about each war and detailing all of the images and weapons etc. we stayed for almost 2 hours but was still more to see
It was an amazing experience to be around so much history in one location. Being an arms reach away from the flag that was raised on Mt. Suribachi gave me the chills. The pride I felt seeing all the milestones that my brothers and sisters achieved was beyond words! Overall great experience and a must see.
Very educational. This place is top notch. The displays were accurate and very detailed. I would strongly recommend a visit of you're in the area
A wonderful museum of the USMC. You can spend hours reading all the information it holds and the displays and vehicles / planes are incredible. Definitely worth multiple visits!
This is a very nice museum that is a nice option to have in the outer suburbs of Washington DC. It's an amazing historic map portraying the significance of the Marine Corps in our nation's history. I learned quite a few things while visiting. The museum is one of a kind and well laid out. I suggest taking the family to see this wonderful tribute to the toughest branch of our armed forces.
Our family loves it here. They are open every day except Christmas day, it's free, and definitely a wonderful learning experience for everyone. We can't wait to get there again! Thank you to all who served and have served.
Very well done with exhibits and beautiful grounds. Very interesting and full of history, also the staff was very helpful.
While the museum did glorify America's imperalistic military history (but what else did you expect from a military museum? lol), the displays were very well-designed and visually appealing. The gift shop was also very good aside from a few tacky Christmas ornaments. While this museum is probably better to see after the rest of its galleries are constructed over the next five years, there's already quite a bit to see and admission is completely free. If you like military history which doesn't force you to acknowledge two sides to a narrative, this is for you.
The best museum I have been to. They did an amazing job with the exhibits.
Amazing display of historical artifacts. Great show of respect for Marines. Definitely should be on your list of places to visit. You can easily spend 4-5 hours here. But even if you only have an hour, it is worth the time to go.
Excellent military museum with a variety of immersive and interactive displays.
The National Museum of the Marine Corps is definitely a must visit to everyone in the area. This place is full of history about the the Marine Corps. This place is modern always finding ways to make the information current. This place has a bar and a gift shop for those who want to buy things related to the Marine Corps. I highly recommend this place to everyone
Beautiful, touching, interesting, meaningful connection to the men who have fought for our freedom throughout history from WWI to the present! Must see !
World class, clean, wonderful guides. Small venue limits display of all that could be exhibited regarding all Marine expeditions and equipment. Korean action exhibit and diorama was good, esp. for my guests from S. Korea! Good, safe for kids with parental guidance. No restaurant. Good gift shop.
Amazing... this is an amazing tribute to the men and women who have given it all for their country!!! There is an outdoor area and the main museum. Had an amazing time here!! This amazing experience is totally free. The gift shop has some really cool and unique items. Overall an unforgettable day!!!
Well-done, comprehensive museum of the Marine Corps. Mostly chronological, but departs from this for some thematic topics (boot camp, for example). They're still working on the modern galleries.
I come here for Pokemon Go Community Day. Very precious park clean and secured. The people that work here are a delight a d I always enjoy my time. Try to follow the path for the timeline all around and you will find d amazing displays of history bravery and much more. Recommend it as a stroll if you have smaller children or simply a place to hang out. Smaller parking lot at the chapel may get crowded on weekends. Use main parking lot
A wonderful experience. Pristine exhibits. Catch the short movie first!!! Bright and airy environment with an inviting feel. Staff is amazing and engages with visitors sharing information to enhance the experience. The place is super clean throughout. Plenty of seating to rest and just "take it all in". Gift shop is full of items for everyone, and prices are reasonable. A tavern and a cafe offer tasty food options for all budgets. Again a super clean environment! Service from everyone is friendly. Don't forget to leave a donation at box in gift shop. Also there is a chapel on property with outstanding photo opportunities! SemperFi!
Love this place. Its humbling to move through history as you walk thru. However my son asked me about Iraq and Afghanistan, and theres one wall. I hope that there is more representation for us guys. So that our children can see the importance of us being away all of the time.
Very realistic. Some difficult things to experience. So many did so much over these years to keep our democracy free. We need to pull together and put foolish politics aside and work together so none of these souls were harmed or died in vain.
We went there our first time and took us four hours cause it's a lot of seeing on everything how interesting, awesome! Also, their restaurants smell so delicious their foods, yummy! Free parking, lovely! Workers are friendly. The restroom is clean. I saw the spot up there on the wall by a script that was my favorite, love it!
This is one of the best museums I've been to. Doesn't matter if you're military or a civilian, there is a lot of history to learn about here. Plan to take at least the afternoon to go through everything, you will end up spending a lot of time viewing each exhibit. If you are viewing this for the first time as a civilian, then this is probably one of the best ways to learn about the history of the Marine Corps.
Fantastic museum! Very well designed. I highly reccomend. Plenty of things to see. Good for kids as well.
Really loved it here I was Navy but my brother is Marine..amazing displays!
This is a great place well worth the trip. Free admission and parking. They did a great job on the displays. More information than you could imagine covering the entire history of the corps. The memorial walk is very well done too. Make the trip, you'll not regret it.
I changed my review to two stars. Had an awful experience with a security guard a few weeks ago. As a mom I take snacks and closed water bottles for my three littles. I am not going to open them up in the middle of the museum. The security guard went through my bag touched everything then had to watch as I dumped everything out. Smithsonians would never do this. Also this same security guard yelled at my three year old and got mad at my husband when he held the door for a veteran in a wheelchair because the handicapped doors were not working. I use to love this museum as I have brought many guests here, but I will think twice before I go again with someone in a wheelchair or kids. Sad that one person can create such a negative experience within minutes of guests entering the museum.
Spectacular. A must see. Seeing how Marines preserved our freedoms with their bravery and sacrifice. Thank you for your service.
If you love history in general/or anything war related, this is the best place to go! They have two areas for children! They need a wonderful job dedicating this place!
It was an honor to spend time learning about some of the greatest Americans who have ever lived. They sacrificed so much for people that they wouldn't know, and even those that would openly call them terrorists. All gave some, some gave all. That line shows how great these people are.
This is one of the best museums I’ve ever been to. It is not too far outside of DC. If you’re ever in the area it is worth at least a couple of hours or a couple of days. The topic is the Marine Corps but it on a broader sense is a big slice of American history.
Outstanding! A must visit for Marines past and present. Ooorah!!
Very well done. Clear and tonthe point messages
I have been impressed by the fine performances of the US Army Band Downrange last week and the Navy Band Cruisers this week. They are part of the museum's summer outdoor concert series. Great music and vocals from these military performers. Also got a chance to peek a couple of temporary exhibits, Hollywood and the War Dogs.
Pretty impressive. Might be the best military history museum in the country, maybe even the top history museum in the country. If you are into history this is a must see! The World War 1 Museum in Kansas City is also very impressive as is the World War 2 Museum in New Orleans.
Absolutely a fantastic place. It was very clean with places to eat inside. There's so much to see and so much information that you could easily spend a whole day there. What a wonderful tribute full of history.
This is a great museum about the Marine Corps. Right off the Interstate, so stop. Spend a few hours here and you will not be disappointed. So really cool displays that immerse you into the action.
Real informative. A ton to experience and explore indoors and outdoors.
Heading there today with my family. 5 stars already just because of what it represents.
Excellent displays and artifacts from all periods of USMC history. The museum is still building some wings with even more to come ahead. My family really enjoyed it and the kids learned a lot. Its easily accessed off the 95 freeway with plenty of parking. Great gift shop and they have a small Tuns Tavern dining area on site, with really good food and a selection of some local area beers; excellent food and better than we had expected from a museum. Overall, I highly recommend a stop with friends and family.
Amazing experience! Lots of historical exhibits. You can easily spend the whole day exploring the creation of our great Marines. They include all of the significant events that happened along the way. Very kid friendly and it was free! They have a restaurant too.
Semper Fi!! The staff is so friendly and full of knowledge. I have come here for the past 5 years and every year they have something new to see. They have updated and renovated all the exhibits. Love the attention to detail because it really captures our history. The younger kids will love the kids gallery, teens will love the many exhibits and the adults will appreciate the history. Just a perfect place to spend some of your afternoon. It's free too!
AMAZING!!!! We could have spent days here. We have been there twice and still have not seen it all AND they were adding more. Our 7 year old and then 9 year old the second time, did not want to leave! There is so much history inside and it is kept up beautifully. The USMC has a true treasure here! Keep up the great work USMC!!!!
Amazing museum! Not possible to cover everything in one day. We're definately coming back so enjoy everything we weren't able to get too.
Definitely a must-see for all Marines and history buffs, alike! Excellent aircraft displays as well as exhibits of weapons dating back to 1775. Most are actual weapons owned by Marines of note. They have tun tavern which is basically a bar and grill based on the birthplace of the Marine Corps and the devil Dog diner which is more like a fast food cafeteria. You will not be able to see it all unless you plan for at least 3 hours.
This place should be in your must visit list, if you visit DC area. Free parking, free admission, and plenty of history here in the museum. Great place to bring kids
Visited on a sunny Saturday. We arrived shortly after 9, during summer vacation, and there were just a handful of cars. The museum is very well down. There are exhibits for the major battles and wars that were fought. The introduction movie, and the $5 We, The Marines were incredible. And free!
What an eye opening experience. So much information and put together in a way that is easy to follow and enjoy. Timeline of the Marine Corps from 1775-Now and boot camp to retirement. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here. There is a theater and restaurant on location as well. No food or drink allowed to be brought into the museum.
Although I served in the Navy, I loved learning about the Marines and why they're so great. The history, details and layout was perfect and informative. That museum makes you proud to be an American.
The most comprehensive timeline of our United States Marines. Realistic exhibits, hands on experiences that will help you realize the difficult life of a Marine. Even tho it has been 8 years since our last visit, much has happened since. We are loyal donors and contributors to the museum. Besides myself, my father, wifes two uncle's all have memorial bricks gifted by my very generous mother in law. The museum has much more to offer than eight years ago. We are anxious to get back to Quantico and enjoy the nearly completed project. Semper Fidelis.
Fantastic is all I can say. This museum should be the Mecca for all Marines Active, Retired or Separated.
Beautifully curated extensive collection. Timeline at the center outlining world events with USMC history is very helpful for tying everything together. A must see for anyone interested in history. Great interactive exhibits for kids in an enclosed area. Very clean, very accessible as well.
Perfect for a review of our Marines over time, cannot wait for the new additions.
The information and exhibits are great. A lot of reading and interesting facts. Real guns, rifles, authentic photos, tanks, planes, and other historic items. Food options are limited to 2 small resturants. Service in the chow hall style restaurant was a bit slow and unorganized. Otherwise a great place to visit and learn about Marines!
It is always great to visit the MCM. I wish they stayed open past 5, but the trails are open until dark. A great safe place for families with Pokemon Go players as well. I visit with my kids at least twice a week.
Awesome museum with great exhibits about the Marine Corps. The exhibits go back to revolutionary times and are quite exquisite. Would suggest every American visit at least once in their life.
A lot if memories. Best place in the world. Semper Fi and God's Speed to the past and present.
Words can't describe how fantastic this museum is. First of all how the fallen Marines are honored the the highest degree and 2nd the amazing historical depictions of all conflicts. This is a super must visit. Thank God for these men and women who sacrificed in the name of freedom. God bless.
Very well done. So much that it takes several visits. Love to go.
The Nation Museum of the Marine Corps was a really great trip for me. While it wasn’t the main goal of my trip, it did help me get out of traffic for a bit and allow me to take some time to appreciate some of the traditions and history of my branch. I also loved how they had coloring in Chestys corner so the kids can relax and their Marine parents can snack on the crayons. 13/10 motivating, would IT into submission.
I always viewed the Marines as a secretive division of our very best elite warriors, who do secretive things to clear the way for other branches, when what's needed might be too clandestine, risky, or legally questionable for the Army and Navy to pull off. Basically, an American version of the Green Berets. They definitely do some of that, but there's so much more to their history. I never would've guessed that they played the pivotal role in some battle or another during pretty much every war. On the ground, in the sea, and in the sky. I was originally here for a dog show in front of the museum, which was great (I'd never seen an all-black German Shepherd before!), but I ended up spending just as much time inside.
Came here for prom and had an absolutely magical night. What I originally believed to be an "interesting" venue for the biggest night of the year turned out to be beautiful. The main lobby easily held the 700 or so guests and allowed us to have a wonderful time with our friends.
Excellent museum! Docents are knowledgeable, information appeals to all ages and senses. Easily spend 2 days absorbing all the history of the sacrifices and history.
The museum takes you chronologically through the history of the Marine Corps. The museum is quite large, plan on spending the day. There was also an exhibit of Marine corps dogs and art relating to dogs on the second floor.
Absolutely in love with the art here. I went and saw the gallery upstairs full of some of the most beautiful art. The staff are wonderful and they make you feel so welcome. There are gorgeous statues all over the property. They have a section for kids downstairs. Upstairs they have Tun Tavern and if you decide to eat there please get the BLT wrap! It tastes absolutely amazing and pretty much everything on that menu is amazing! Very great place to relax and feel calm. Great history lessons everywhere you turn.
Every tank is operational still and each face was either a marine at time of museum or from the past. The museum follows a timeline and recreates scenes from each war. Theres a beautiful park and chapel outside.
You don't have to be a Marine to love this Museum. But since I am it is outstanding! The work that is put in to each display is awesome. The people working there are so helpful and knowledgeable.
Traces the history of the Marine Corps from 1775 to the present. It is an amazing place! We learned so much about their service to our country and the cause of freedom. It was truly inspiring and humbling.
Great place!!! Remarkable & life-like exhibits. Tells/shows the entire history of USMC.
This was a stunning place to visit especially with a former marine. The film was brilliant too.
Oh man. Maybe it's because my dad is a marine and so is my husband, but this is an incredible museum. They have a powder horn and boarding ax from the revolutionary war era, a pull up bar to let people try out (or remember) boot camp... Only the Marines, right?... And tanks, airplanes, guns etc. Even the kids areas are well done. We were here for about 4 hours, and could have stayed much longer.
Great place to visit for a ton of USMC history, amazing building and lots of history of firearms. Really exited to see a host of these items up close. Gift shop is really nice too. They have some rare artifacts in every exhibit.
Such a beautiful place! Really recommend this museum. It's FREE and it's huge and Amazing! We loved it ALL! Adults and kids loved it because it's very interactive and with so much information. Everything is very life like. It really is an amazing experience! Then you can go walk outside around the trails where memorials are set up and more facts. It's beautiful. We visited Virginia just to come and bring the kids since both my husband and I are Marine Corps Veterans.
Pretty neat museum. It's very interesting and interactive. I love all the aircraft in the building.
It was a great time. Great place for history lesson
My wife and I came to visit this fantastic museum on our way home from Baltimore. We’re so happy we did. The museum is laid out extremely well and walks you through the history of the USMC from their inception to today. We learned a lot and were moved by several of the exhibits. I recommend this museum to anyone.
Nicely executed museum. Learned alot about the marines and their role in past wars.
The best place to learn about the worlds greatest fighting force!
This is the history of the US Marine Corp as well as the history of US warfare. The exhibits are beautifully executed throughout the self-guided tour. But so sad. Makes me happy that fewer of our young men are sent to flat-out sacrifice themselves by running into gun fire in order to take a strategic location.
An excellent museum to visit. There are several MC specific aircraft hanging from the ceiling including a Harrier and a Corsair. There is a gallery with many exhibits and theater rooms. Very informative! A must see for ANY military vet or family of a Marine.
Awesome! My husband and I had not been to visit since its opening. Many changes have been made...all for the good! Incredible details. Insightful. The impact was intense, the staff wonderful. I highly recommend you visit.!
A must stop! Well done! Great displays and historical value. Semper Fi!!
Very moving! And docents are throughout if you have questions!
I only wish we had allotted more time as this museum is absolutely wonderful! We live close so we will be back. Be sure to talk to the docents/volunteers as they are informative as well as passionate about the exhibits. Be sure to ask about the "mannequins". Very moving museum and well done. Check out the observation area/Chapel for great views and peaceful surroundings. Just gorgeous at sunset. Parking and admission are free. If you need assistance to enter from the handicapped parking area, it will be provided for you. Food Court on the premises. Museum Store is just stocked full of great items and displays. Everyone needs to visit this amazing museum!
Was closed by democrats in government shutdown. Outside was great. Would have liked to have taken my mom thru the inside before she died.
Great patriotic American place to visit. I'm a retired Navy Corpsman. Got my kids dog tags at the gift shop. Love the USMC museum at Quantico. Every true red white & blue American should visit.
Anyone interested in the history of the Marine Corp should definitely visit -- the setting is also very nice -- thanks to all that built and maintain this memorial.
So it was an awesome drive through the grounds to even get to this epic museum showing the badass history of our United States Marine Corp!!! The building is just so cool to look at from the outside and even cooler from the inside!!! FREE PARKING AND FREE ADMISSION!!!! We were greeted by friendly security who pointed us to a wonderful Retired Marine named Mark who gave us the run down of where any and everything we needed to see or do was. Every machine, plane, helicopter, gun was real, not a replica of one...so awesome!!! Had an interactive area for my 2 year old daughter which is also awesome. Also had art exhibits that said "Please Touch" so cool. The gift shop was sweet and they had 2 movie theatres in there too. Outside they had a great playground too. My daughter had a blast on that too. All around a great place to take anyone of any age. Thank you for your service to all of you current and former Marines!!!
This was a wonderful surprise. Well worth the drive out to Triangle, VA. Everything is so well organized and the artifacts are wonderful. I wish we would have had more time to investigate. I recommend the movie, We, are the Marines. There is a small fee for the film, but, it really does make you part of the experience. Thank you to our women and men who serve.
The history here is amazing and it's really kid friendly. Definitely a nice place to take your family.
Historic place but also a really beautiful building. Really nice for events like a prom. The chapel is on the same grounds and really nice for weddings. The exhibit itself is also good. The figures are too lifelike, almost creepy, but good. Also, the shooting simulation was fun.
Attended my son's wedding here. A beautiful place to join in marriage.
This is a great place to spend a few hours waking through the galleries. Each step is a walk back into time talking about almost every combat mission the Marines were apart of. A very peaceful, beautiful place. There are wheelchair accessible trails that go around the grounds to different monuments and memorials. If you are in the area, this is a must see.
Love this museum! Visiting it brought me back to my days on “the yellow footsteps”. It holds a special place in my heart. My understanding is that there’s much more to come. I’ll definitely update as I visit. It is a wonderful place to visit now.
I was very impressed. There are some really cool exhibits and lots of historical artifacts. If you are in the area this is a must see. It's free to get in.
Great place to take the kids. The museum and park are both well maintained.
One of the coolest museums you can go to in the United States. If you get the opportunity I would highly recommend you check it out.
Wonderful, free museum showcasing the history of the US Marine Corps. Lots of interesting information and things to see. A little dry for younger kids, with only a few interactive areas, and a serious topic for them, but there's a few kid specific areas. The material is excellently presented, though.
Very impressive and an amazing amount to see. Also has restaurant and gift shop. The building is a beautiful architectural gem. Also not to be missed are the walking trails that have historical markers to read about battles and other events. The paths are lined with bricks about individual named Marines!
One of the best museum we've been... First it's FREE... 2nd the parking is free and 3rd Very educational... our kids enjoyed and loved it... Salute to the Marines, we appreciate you more than ever... the staff are very accommodating and friendly... Thank you for the wonderful experience
Anyone with an ounce of patriotism should go here. Awesome place.
Not really a fan of war history, but I was impressed by the end of my visit. I recommend this to people NOT into war history.
This is a great place to visit for everyone. You will have a greater appreciation for the service and sacrifices that Marines have endured throughout the Corps' illustrious history. The museum staff is extremely knowledgeable and professional. Disclaimer: You may end your day by visiting the closest recruiting station.
An awesome place to commemorate the history of our Marines. Excellent layout, interactive displays, sound and sensory adaptations of engagements. And memorials to those who gave everything, moments of silence.
Awesome place. So much history and detail about the Marine Corp. Very well done.
Truly inspiring view of Marine history through the centuries. Spend an entire day to experience this worthwhile piece of history.
A wealth of history of the Marine Corps. A pristine museum, excellent condition and clean. Child friendly with hands on activities and play areas. My boys enjoyed the outside playground too. We will be back again and next time check out the trails.
This is an awesome place for any age group, every educational. You can also attend promotional ceremonies if they are having one while you're visiting. Blessings
This was fabulous. Admission is free. Events are kid friendly. Excellent way to spend a Saturday
Attended wedding at Chapel, beautiful location. Didn't have time to enjoy the museum.
We really enjoyed this museum. It's worth the drive from Washington. It will be really nice when the Iraq and Afghanistan section opens up.
Wow this is put together well! Don't miss this little gem. If you're looking for a semi quick stop make it here! This place is great! Will return next time I'm passing through.
Very awesome museum I love history can’t wait for the next section to get finished .
This museum is incredible!!! Free, but I would say it’s easily worth a $20 entrance fee! The staff is very helpful and friendly, and you’re provided with a great map of the facility! We spent 3 hours in there and still felt like it wasn’t enough. You begin with the Revolutionary War era and go up until Vietnam. The Afghanistan and Iraq sections will be open soon. There is an incredible wealth of information on the walls and artifacts from different eras. Lots of guns and uniforms and lots of tanks! The exhibits are very well made and you feel as if you are immersed in a war experience. Lots of movies to stop and watch too! It’s great, I highly recommend!!!
One the best museums I've visited. The volunteers are extremely knowledgeable and can give you tours of the exhibits. The kids area is pretty nice, but definitely for the younger kids. Lastly, the little restaurant is expensive. Open to the public.
Excellent museum! The curators took great care to make this a special place to highlight and honor our US Marine Corps
A honor for everyone who served, who gave their all, in many different wars. I highly recommend this place for everyone.
This is definitely the best museum I've ever visited. It is so fascinating, moving and emotional. Lots of very important articles of historic significance are on display here, from weapons from the infancy of the Corps, to the actual flags that flew over Iwo Jima, to a piece of the Berlin Wall. Many actual Medals of Honor are on exhibit as well. Please, do yourself a favor if you have any interest in the Corps, history or the military, and see this museum. An added plus is the staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable.
A must visit even if you are not military. This museum is amazing. No entry fee and free parking. We go once a month. Lots to do for children. Outdoor walking areas with monuments and a large shaded playground area.
Great. Very thorough. Lots to see, not a lot to touch but they do have a kids section. Be prepared to read. On sight food options too.
An awesome experience i recommend anyone even vaguely near to make it a priority to go here it's really cool and all age groups will Enjoy
Historic! Truly a great experience for the whole family.
Awesome and amazing. Well put together in honor and memory of our great heroes.
Absolutely an amazing place for us Jarheads. You need to make plans to visit.
My husband is a marine and so I was super excited to visit this place. There was so much history. Staff was friendly and helpful and we could've spent hours here.
Free and interesting, just off the highway. Veteran man at the info desk entrance was super helpful and passionate, took the time to greet us and explain the best way to explore the museum. Expect to spend at least 3-4 hours and museum is still developing some exhibits on recent and ongoing conflicts.
What an amazing place to visit! Not only do they have all real display items (Not Replicas), but the history, the recreation, all is very detailed, they make it interesting for the whole family. The restaurants are great, the food is delicious and people very friendly. Definitely recommend it.
This is a hidden gem. Highly recommend checking this place out. The museum is huge and very interactive. Love that I never feel rushed here and that I can take my time looking through all the exhibits which is not often the case in the greater DC area. Thank you Marines!
Very well presented collections, learned a lot. Never knew how many "small wars" the Marines fought, mostly because of stupid foreign policy. Wish the Iraq & Afghanistan sections had been open. Had to miss memorial park as I couldn't walk that far that day. Highly recommended.
Friendly knowledgeable staff and original vehicles of all sorts and amazing statues and artwork.
Fantabulust! Fastly becoming one of the Washington area's highest rated exhibits. We used the Memorial chapel for our son's funeral. It takes about three visits to see the entire museum but worth the time spent.
Very very interesting museum. Normally I don‘t go into museums, but this one has surprised me at all. There are many things that can be experienced by yourself and every episode is created in a different way, so that it is never annoying. Really impressing! A must do, when you are in that region!
Info overload. They did an excellent job putting together the different exhibits but you need more than just 1 hour. And it is FREE.
A very good museum. Exhibits are very well made and tells a lot about Mariens and their missions. Looking foreward to the opening of their latest campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq. (should open in 2021)
Third time there - gets better every time. SEMPER FI!
Important and proud traditions being kept here. Museum is still new and expanding, but it's already interesting. It is near a military base but not inside it, so anyone can get in easily. Parking is free and plentiful. The Lego replica of the Iwo Jima statue in the bookstore is almost worth the trip on its own!
Very interesting and informative. The displays were very well done and very realistic. My wife and I enjoyed it very much.
An excellent experience. Wish we could have been there longer. I wasn't able to find info about or menus from the two dining options on the website. I think that info would be helpful for planning to your visit.
Freedom isn’t free. Well worth the visit. So much to see and learn about. You can stop for an hour but you probably won’t want to leave. You can easily spend a day here. Oh, it is free to get in though
This is a wonderful museum. It was done in a very non political way, therefore you get the facts without political interference. It is also in a beautiful location and a beautiful tribute to our heroes!
A history experience of the US Marine Corps unequaled to anything you've ever seen. Super day spent a future Marine- Nick, active duty Marine- Cpl Tre' and myself GySgt Garry Mullis Retired. Gift Shop, interactive exhibits, realistic displays, artworks and sculptures.
Really appreciate the memorials to fallen soldiers/sailors. A must visit if you're in the area. On a nice day I'd recommend walking the trails.
