Had an amazing wedding here and they keep the exhibits in tip tip shape, clean bathrooms

SpeechGuy 314

Room after room of amazing artwork, artifacts, glassware, etc. All time periods; something for everyone's interests.I have a new appreciation for different types of glassware. They did a great job coordinating, organizing, and setting up each and every room. Great way to spend a few hours on an otherwise slow day. Cudos also to the two guys giving the glass blowing demonstration in the building across the street; very informative.

Pam Simmons

Wonderful Time. Never been til last weekend. I told the staff I would rate them good, thanks from Ms. Simmons.

elizabeth bell

The docents were friendly and engaging. My friend and I were given a map for self guided walk-through and directed to the exhibits we were most interested in seeing that day. There are so many pieces to view, it's probably best to break it up over several trips to really enjoy each exhibit. Also, visiting free of charge makes this a budget friendly outing as well.

Tara Wilson

I love the Chrysler museum. It's my favorite date spot with my boyfriend! There is so much to see and they always have new exhibits. So much history and beautiful art.

Janet Vargas

So much to see and amazing exhibits! Many different sections for different cultures. Truly enjoyed this museum.

Tucker Casanova

I visited during the Hungry Little Caterpillar showing with my two kids 10 & 13. Not only did we enjoy it but the rest of the museum as well.

Doug Lewin

Awesome place, lots of great exhibits, friendly staff, kid friendly with play areas. Free entry. Classes available for glass craft.

Corinne R. Healy

You see all kinds of art here. Highly recommended for art enthusiasts. The staff was very helpful & accommodating. It was just a quick visit but we will definitely come back and spend more time looking at their art collection.

Can’t beat Free! There is a beautiful glass exhibit i think everyone should see below you can see a little taste of what this amazing museum has to offer. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun date night or what to learn about art throughout history!

bennie estrada

The place was awesome as a whole. People in different ages would appreciate everything that is in the museum, activities for the kids arts for the adults plus history info. Highly recommended!

Pam Coster

Wonderful! We took a four year old and two year old to the Eric Carle exhibit and had a great time. So much for the children to see and do. Lunch at the restaurant was very good with great service. We'll be back!

Lori Critser

A great afternoon! Terrific exhibit on caregivers...glass blowing folks are fun.Nice wine at the cafe overlooking the Hague

steven olson

This was a great place with the Eric Carle exhibit!! They've always got something interesting going on!!! Haven't seen anything worth a negative comment yet!

Kyle Wilmouth

Of the art museums in the area, this one is definitely the best. First time going and not only was the admission free, but there was went to see the Eric Carle themed exhibit that will be displayed through August. Aside from that exhibit, there are plenty of additional exhibits / themed rooms that will easily occupy a half day.

Kylee Cranston

There are hundreds of increible pieces here, ranging from the Egyptians to Greeks to modern day. The exhibits change often, so there's always something new to see.

Purevdulam Lkhagvasuren

You need more than a few hrs to thoroughly enjoy the whole place. Highly recommended to visit.

Balduin Nitschke

We loved this one. Not stuffy! Young staff all over that are enthusiastic about the exhibits. One offered to photo us in front of an unusual piece that interacted! And do try the Wisteria cafe there. Wonderful food selections; nice to break up the art with a snack. The art glass is great and our main reason to come in. But the rest of the museum has a great selection of interesting art in all media (bronze, etc.). A must go to see.

Stacy Fulcher

One of the most beautiful museums.

Brittany Hamlin

Our first time here and we Loved it! I especially love that is free! The glass making demo was great and one of the kid's favorite parts. The Wonder room was also a huge hit. We will be going back for their summer activities. I'm telling all my friends with kids to go.

Julia Lowery

The Chrysler is more than a museum, it's a place where you want to find a comfy seat in the atrium and read a book in between taking an adventure to ancient Egypt and watching artists blow colorful glass right before your eyes! It also was a magnificent place for my best friend's wedding. The museum made a lovely backdrop for the evening and the staff were very professional. I highly recommend taking an afternoon off and strolling around the Chrysler! On top of how nice it is, admission is also free!!

Luisa Montagner

The museum is free, all the artwork is clearly labeled, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and ultimately: the collection is amazing! I loved the glass exhibit in particular - hence the many photos. We also went to see the demo at the glass studio (just one minute by foot from the museum, also free) and it was equally impressing. I will definitely come back many times. Special thanks to Brittany, who asked us to fill out the survey and provided extra information.

C Smith

The glass collection is excellent. They have a wonderful collection of LC Tiffany lamps and a couple of Windows as we as a F L Wright window. You can get very close and examine the masterful workmanship. Additionally they have old world examples from all over the world. The Samuri armor is exquisite. Truely a great museum.

Denise Firnstahl

Wonderful Eric Carle display! A must-see!

Fabrice Penot

really good art in a Nice museum building. glass of course. also precolombian, egyptian, 19th centure paintings and more of interest

Andrew Morris

It's free, so that's a huge plus for accessibility. The exhibits were varied and full of great pieces. However, it was a little hard to navigate and there's not a lot explanation of the more abstract pieces....I get that it's art, and that it's interpretive, but I shouldn't be left searching for any shred of meaning

Chrylann Fons

You need to spend the day here. Amazing glass art collection.

CARLA TURNER

Enjoyed Interactive Eric Carle Exhibit

Mike C

This museum has so much going on and it’s FREE! They have a glass blowing department where you can take lessons and see shows it’s amazing. The museum has a huge glass collection and very significant artists work in their collection. FREE PARKING and public restrooms. There is a restaurant inside but is higher end / kids meals are around $10. Love this museum definitely will visit again. Virginia is for museum lovers!

Kenneth Christ

Child friendly, alot to see, plan on spending a few hours

Jack Croach

Very powerful glass museum and studio, see artists at work. Impressive. And it's free.

Annette Griffith

I admit that I am a sign reader. This museum is descriptive with its signs explaining the art. It is perfect for me because I like to know the history of the piece. It's not fun for people who come with the sign readers because it take a long time to see all the floors. But if you want an interesting experience, go to the Chrysler Museum

Learntosharemore

... what a wonderful museum. i enjoy the way they display their art- more by subject than date. very crestive with a very nice collection.

Melissa Truett

Attended wedding reception there. It is such a beautiful location! I enjoyed the art prior to the reception!

Sarah Harrington

Love the permanent exhibit, but I especially love popping in to see visiting exhibitions like Eric Carl.

Donna Robison

What a great museum! Exhibitions are varied and appeal to many people. And it's so approachable- parking is free and accessible. Friendly people are there to help. Love this beautiful place right here at home.

Mjoan Mallick

This is a small but sophisticated museum. When I visited there were two very interesting exhibits: African bead embroidery and another focusing on the effects of technology on art. The docents are well informed volunteers who are serious but casual in their presentations. A gem that took me by surprise

Susan N

Free admission, so many genres and wonderful pieces of art. I especially loved the glass exhibit and the Tiffany items. A friendly and welcoming staff and lovely restaurant. I highly recommend.

Katie Stoops

The museum and glass blowing studio are free, which is always a perk. The facility is gorgeous, both inside and out, as well as clean. The staff is helpful courteous. It's a great place to bring kids or have a date. Exhibits change frequently so there's usually something new to see every time you go.

Amy Hickey

Free to go in. My husband and I always love to visit museums. We have very different taste but always find interesting things and enjoy the quiet time

TF Farrow

I was pleasantly surprised, what a beautiful and interesting museum to visit"and even greater, it is free.. where most places with less to see and so much to see, enjoy and learn, from so many diverse items, to be free" is wonderful, great for young families as well as adults. I would suggest unless the baby or toddler is in a locked down stroller, leave them home, not because there not welcome, but so much is in the open and could be damaged, or broken..and I'm sure you want to enjoy all the different rooms to explore. There is a few boxes on your way out to donate, if you want...which if you can spare, even a dollar, I'm sure it would be used well. I pray that I am well enough to go back again. What a wonderful way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon, ( remember they are only open noon to 5, on Sundays) so arrive early, or you can go back again, not rushing thru is what makes it great as well. Front desk, the greeters ' all were friendly, and informative. I'd definitely recommend going here, even if only once.. but I again hope to go at least 1 more time, so enjoy a great outing, free" and educational, as well as you get to enjoy such beautiful works of art" Have fun.. and see you at the museum"...

Monica Ford

Fantastic experience! The exhibits are curated well, staff is helpful and friendly. Admission is free! A great way to spend the afternoon indoors, or sit in the garden. The glass workshop is in a separate building next door - live demos at noon almost every day.

Morgyanna Dree

Can someone explain to me why there is an extremely large modern portrait of a man stepping on a sideways cross that is now hung in the Rennaissance room with a painting of The Last Supper and a bust of Jesus? Is someone making a statement, is someone incompetent, or is someone just too lazy to find an appropriate spot for it? I personally take it as a statement. I believe Chrysler runs on grants and donations, and this little "display" I found offensive. Wow. Too bad this overshadowed what is otherwise an awesome museum.

Sharon McElwee

Great museum, free admission. Convenient location. The Eric Carle exhibit was beautiful! I also loved the fact that you could take pictures inside.

Jeffrey Geraci

What a truly amazing place. Sooooooo much to see. We focused on the glass and saw the exhibits and the glassblowing class. It was entertaining and educational. The paintings and photos are wonderful too. Super clean, everyone is super helpful. A must afternoon in Norfolk!

Matrika Edwards

The staff was very knowledgable and helpful during our company scavenger hunt throughout the museum.

Julia Bardelli

Absolutely beautiful museum, incredibly well maintained and I love how they have changing exhibits every few months. My only complaint is the staff that patrols the halls, I understand why they need to be there; however, it is rather annoying when they follow you around and constantly try and have a conversation, I personally just want to look at the artwork undisturbed.

Robert McDowell

The wife and I would wonder around here for hours on days of bad weather. They has some interesting exhibits.

Scott Filipek

Loved this place! Great exhibits, very thoughtfully put together and displayed. Very well lighted too.

Adein Cox

A lot of art and free to get in and it can keep you entertained for hours

Margaret Sullivan

Wonderful exhibition and interactive experience with Eric Carle. The kids loved it!

Mary Royal

Food was delicious and the service was awesome. They had place cards for our tables because we had called in a lot of orders. We are FSBC

S.T. Nowling

The museum has added new exhibits. There are plenty of helpful staff to assist visitors and answer questions about the facility and the art. The museum is handicapped accessible with elevator access. Stairs are ea as y you walk. Plan your spend at least a couple of hours in order to enjoy yourselves. There's even special areas for kids thy o enjoy.

Shari Haefner

Amazing!!!! So much to see...and admission is free!!! Biggest collection of glass in US. Plus so much more....paintings, sculptures, Egyptian exhibits with Sekhmet statues, religious artifacts from many religions. Expansive.

D. Jennifer Dawson

A nice surprise, this beautiful gem and it's well appointed Cafe. In town for a few days, while my partner attended classes downtown, I spent my time walking around Norfolk. My favorite afternoon was in the Chrysler Museum. Lunch in the cafe was affordable and quite delicious. Some Trustees of the museum were having lunch at the next table, so the eavesdropping happened to be pretty good, too! I wandered through the galleries and contemplated artwork as early as Mexico and Egypt all the way through Picasso to very contemporary works. Though small by comparison, there are interesting and important works of art here. There is a tidy Museum shop, as well. The offerings reflected many of the art periods in the museum, as well as a healthy variety of glass artistry from the glass blowing Studio connected to the museum, located across the street. Don't miss it. Free will donation, no set admission fee.

Queenie Collins

Wonderful experience! Welcoming staff. Huge variety of collections. Something for everyone!

Shawna Keith

Full of new information! Great time for the family or even dates and groups

Anita Porterfield

A wonderful place to lose yourself for a while. There is a little something here for every age. The restaurant and gift shop were fairly priced and the staff is pleasant and pretty knowledgeable. Please remember not to bring knapsacks, bookbags or large purses or bags in the museum with you because you will be asked to hold/ carry it in front of you so that you don't accidentally knock anything over. The staff were polite but firm about this. Hey, can you blame them? After all, some of the pieces are irreplaceable. Overall worth the trip!

T Andrews

Free admission and parking. Came with only an hour before closing to explore, but what I was able to see was great. Great collection of artwork from ancient to modern periods.

Lianne H

The museum is gorgeous, the exhibits are always interesting, and I especially love the kids content. We enjoyed the Eric Carle exhibit recently and it was so interactive!

Gracie Gee

Beautiful gallery, as an art student i really admire seeing other people's work, there is plenty to see and plenty to do. I hope my art will one day be on display here. I would love to go back soon and just sit down, draw, and relax, that would be my ideal day. There is glasswork, sculptures, and paintings galore, plus there even is a glassblowing class in another building! The cafe has some really good food as well. Great place to take high school and college level groups on a field trip to.

Ashley Toy

Parking is a little chaotic but it's a fun place to go and bring your kids or go with friends. I love that they update their displays often and they actually have some really amazing stuff. They have some beautiful Buddha statues, Tiffany stained glass and Egyptian art. It's also free!

Arce Arte

Amazing experience of one of a kind Art and beauty ! It transferred me to a great dimention of time ! Incredible venue

Micah Watney

Hosted a wedding reception here, and it was GORGEOUS!

Greg Sigalov

It's an amazing collection of World and American art, and it's free to visit!

Numan Usmani

Rich in history, culture, art and knowledge of mankind. Very impressive and beautiful collections all under one roof.

James Atlas

Awesome selection, not much of the modern art did much for me, but the glassworks and historical mosaics and statues were awesome. About donating, I would go light since the things in the gift shop cost enough to help support the staff. I donated $10 then paid $2.50 for a small sticker for the road. Also wish they had more stickers lol.

Candace Evalenko

My husband and I love the Chrystler Museum. In fact it is where we had our first date. They have so great pieces that are always there and then they change some of the exhibits so there's always something new to see. The gift shop has some interesting things as well. Though the prices my seem higher, remember access to the museum is free, so it's great to support them through donations, gift shop purchases and their restaurant.

Tara S

Loved the glass blowing demonstration! Highly recommend!

Kiara Moore

The Chrysler is a great free museum with a wonderful collection and variety. While it is not large, it does have an elevator and second floor. It has a good assortment of popular eras such as ancient Egypt and Roman art, some tribal African Art, and even the Aztecs. My favorite is the extensive stained glass collection. They also have a glass blowing class in a nearby building. The building is popular for weddings. Each time I have gone, there was a rush amongst employees due to the event. The customer service can be extremely lacking in some instances. You can tell when there is something going on because they are waiting on you to leave even if it is over an hour until close. Also, some of the employees seem to target certain individuals by following them around the museum. Yes this is security, and you are supposed to check but it was painfully obvious of who the targets were and flat out offensive and wrong. Better training and involvement in leadership can rectify this. All in all, in comparison to some free museums I have visited stateside and in other countries, I believe it is definitely worthy of a visit.

Jung Ji

Excellent art museum, very well maintained, children activities to enjoy, best of all it's free...must visit if in the area

Ten Girl

My visit was great in the context of child enrichment. I am a traveler as well as a "museum person". So with that in mind, I can't give "rave" reviews, but if in the area and you hit space in your itinerary, vist.

Sandy Claypool

I had never been to an art museum so I was pretty excited and it was free. It is a wonderful place to go

Kynan Wrenn

Beautiful pieces of art and sculptures. Love that is free to the public, so you can go back and finish the museum if you don't the first time around.

Bryan Young

Outstanding collection of amazing art in a wonderful building. Docents are very helpful and can pull up additional information on iPads. And you cannot complain about the entreat was fee as it is FREE! A must see spot while in Norfolk.

Scott Schneider

This museum would be fantastic even if it wasn't free to visit, which is just a bonus. There is a lot to see here, you could easily spend a full day and still not see everything depending on how long you like to examine each display. The Chrysler has both long term/permanent displays and also rotates in new exhibits regularly, so check the website to see what's new. When it comes to the temporary exhibits they have a wide variety, my wife and I have visited for exhibits on leather jackets, video games, an Abraham Lincoln exhibit, Japanese woodblock prints, rockstar photography, and more.

John Carr

Excellent displays, all organized by era. They also host special events! All open to the general public

SLOMPY The First

Was a nice visit plenty of interesting things to see and a great place to cool off.

Stephen Reisnour

So many pieces in there. I would say to many. The spacing of the art pieces does not really allow for observation ornphotorgaphy of just one piece at a time. There are many beautiful pieces there. Still a good visit.

Tyler Combs

Free Admission! Workers were very helpful. Lots of lovely paintings and beautiful sculptures.

melanie marra

I was really impressed with the variety of exhibits without there being a charge. I’ve never been to such a full museum that was free. Def don’t want to miss this when you’re in the area. They have everything from Egyptian displays to Contemporary art. This is my happy place.

Virgil Dizon

Very beautiful place to chill and see masterpieces. The museum has restaurant and giftshop inside. They have a good collection of paintings from Renaissance to Pop art

Idreamov B

What can I say beautiful exhibits, glassblowing demonstrations and interesting mixture of art. It is all free. They have a cafe if you want to spend the day and stop for a snack. They also have a gift shop.

Isaac Needell

This is a great museum that has an interesting collection with a lot of variety ensuring that there is something for everyone. There are even kid specific areas for hands-on creating and learning. Also, the museum is FREE!

Tammy Owins

Very interesting educational glass exhibit featuring glass vessel or art method, styles and cultural processes

Mrs Bultitude

So family friendly! The staff is courteous and welcoming. Kids area is great, and I always feel welcomed. Check out the glass demos across the street every day at noon!

Hannah Lee

Cool museum. Free. They take note of where you live when you visit, I'm assuming to justify funding. So if you haven't gone yet, go!

Rawl Gelinas

This visit was to see a special watercolor exhibit which did not disappoint. There is always something great to see.

Micah Duggins-Warf

It's always a delight to spend an afternoon at the Chrysler. The variety and volume of things to see never fails to surprise me, and everything is so meticulously and elegantly curated. Even our young kids love visiting the museum, especially with the children's reading nook and the Artquarium. We consistently recommend the Chrysler as one of the top must-sees in Norfolk.

Nicole Padre

My favorite museum I've ever visited so far. Truly a gem of passing down art thru the lens of humanity. It's also very child friendly and the admission is free to everyone.

M James

This museum is free and filled with different types of mediums, there’s glass, paintings, sculptures, marble and other exhibits, you could spend a good 2-3 hours in here if not more or less. We came in just to waste an hour or so and it was very fascinating and had multiple types of exhibits so you could find what you are really interested in. The museum is very clean and diverse in what they put on display. Though it’s not as kid friendly as other museums I have been to.

Ana Lapera

We love this museum! The curator is outstanding, creating memorable exhibits in a beautiful environment.

Hilary M

Excellent glass collection with free demonstrations of glass blowing as well. Free to visit and park. Learned some fun historical facts about fads based on what people made from glass.

Robert Rogers

This is an incredible place. They are always changing up the exhibits on the inside and the space is absolutely beautiful. There is no charge for admission either. Definitely check this place out. They also do wedding and events here!

Rob Powers

Awesome visit. Drawn in by Angel Adams, but really enjoyed the glass museum and awe and chaos theme. The display rotates between an extensive collection. There is always something different. The price is right, just make a contribution at the door. There there a few famous impressionist on display. What a joy.

Kenneth Gardner

A fantastic experience with a free admission! My wife and I are from Florida and we spent several hours here and didn't regret it one bit. The art was phenomenal and the staff were helpful. The building is kept very clean for such a large space. I would recommend to solo adventurists to large families. Definitely fun for everyone with an adorable gift shop! Check it out!

Bryan Daulton

One of my favorite places in the city. Relaxing, well put together, a day great galleries. I enjoyed the new Shock and Awe exhibit greatly.

Melissa Edwards

My favorite is the Impressionist Gallery which displayed works by Monet, Degas, Renoir, Rodin, and Cezanne. I was at first disturbed by the lack of glass panels protecting these paintings from random vandals, but I'm glad I had the opportunity to view these artworks so up close. I couldn't have done this at the Metropolitan, Smithsonian, the Getty Center, or the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I fell in love with the cafe on the first floor. It looked so romantic & cozy I decided to have lunch there myself. The menu has a fine selection of tasty gourmet sandwiches, salads, soups, pastas and desserts. The best time to go is on a weekday afternoon when it's empty and quiet.

Brandon Vincent

What a wonderful gem in the city of Norfolk with so many great pieces.

Michael Gilbert

great museum and it's free. great place to go to beat the heat or rain. Be aware lots of walking.

Alyssa Saldivar

I've been here a few times for different exhibits and it's a lovely place, a treasure really to have in Norfolk. It's especially nice that it's free! I went to an event here too (Harry Potter themed Halloween party) and the museum staff was great letting us walk around and enjoy all the art too (could have easily blocked it all off). I've always thought it would make a gorgeous place for a wedding too.

Mark Burnham

What an amazing museum. My first time there. Wife and I also went to the glass blowing exhibit. Did I say Amazing?

Scott Martin

A wonderful historical ship museum. They are opening more spaces all the time.

Titan Smith

Fantastic museum! ITS FREE! And the staff are mostly good except they tend to tell you about there opinions on artwork and what they think without you asking them. I think they do that cause they are bored.

lak5es

Really a great museum! Beautiful pieces and I have to commend whoever is in charge of organizing and presenting the art because it is VERY well done. An excellent collection of glass art is a bonus and they have a working glass shop with daily demonstrations. Special shout out to all of the staff today who were extremely welcoming and friendly. Go to the Chrysler museum! It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

WunderB0i

I always love going here, make sure you've got a few hours before they close at 5pm to ensure you can look at all the art! Great place to see every art style and era.

dave altonaga

Very nice place to visit.

Shannin Tausch

This is an excellent asset to the city. Lots to learn and see for all ages.

Mark Sieg

Needs more classic art and more informing tours. But good for the cost of non free exhibits

Christopher Heard

Amazing display of art. The rotating exhibits are always interesting. It's hard to beat viewing beautiful art for free.

Mengu Gungor

Amazing collection, Hudson River school landscape painters like Bierstadt and Cole, and excellent examples of Bouguereau, Sargent, Renoir, Monet, Mucha, beautiful classic sculptures, encouraged to take photos and do studies, plus free admission, what more could I ask for?

Esther Smith

Absolutely love the Chrysler Museum. There is always something new to see as well as the classic favorites. I can sit all day and enjoy the art around me and feel I inspired to expand my photography tricks or even my sketches. We are very lucky to have such a beautiful collection of different pieces here in Norfolk to enjoy.

Tamarr Artis

This place is great for anything you need. Date night, school paper, hiding for toxic masculinity. I would come here every day if it wasn't for work and school.

Virginia Schwalen

The Eric Carle exhibit was excellent. We were disappointed that only about a 3rd of the Tiffany collection is on display now.

Jen Romero

For a small museum, the Chrysler packs a punch. Quality exhibitions, lectures, and a beautiful building with terrific lighting.

Daniel Odar

Art is creative and keeps us in the know with different artifacts around the world to represent a history that lets everyone know the roots of all nation's. The statues are the most beautiful things created by man.

Patricia Latin

Great glass collection and fine quality of old, hispanic and modern art.

Daniel McMann

Great experience. Had a great tour.

Michael Hill

Love going to the Chrysler there is always something new that speaks to me

Betty Ervin

Really enjoyed Eric Carle exhibit.

Chris Connelly

The glass collection is incredible. One of the more underrated museums in the area. Excellent quality and variety of work here.

Emma Watling

We visited on a Saturday in November and it was busy but not crowded (very pleasant). Highly recommend coming here if you are in the area! It's full of things to see and it's free--and parking and friendly staff. We spent 2.5 hours here but could have spent more time exploring. We happened to arrive as a cultural talk on China was beginning so we sat in on that and loved it! This was a really fun way to spend a leisure day while on vacation and we will definitely be back next time. I especially loved the glass exhibits but it was all nice, honestly. We grabbed lunch at the cafe and I'm glad we did--best Buddha bowl ever!! So definitely believe the other cafe reviews because they are spot on :)

Rusty Barath

Extremely user friendly. Nice exhibit

Owen Hughes

I'm not an "art" guy. A colleague visited the museum and raved about it so I decide to visit at some point. When I had the opportunity to wander over to the CMoA to check it out, I did. The variety of art from different cultures and styles was brilliant. The admission is by donation and the staff is friendly and helpful. Make sure you aren't in a rush, I was there 2.5 hours and felt for the first visit that was just about right. I would most definitely go back.

Greg S

It was a pleasant surprise to find such a nice museum with an excellent and extensive collection of paintings, sculpture, and art deco. Monet, Rubens, Tintoretto, Sargent - they have them all, and much more. On top of that, it's free!

Millicent Grim

Well organised & curated. Need enough time to really get through all that is on offer.

Estelle Hamilton

A bunch of us actually attended an event here on a Friday night after hours. The employees did a wonderful job organizing lines for people with etickets, without tickets, and paper tickets so we were able to get in no problem. Even though the event allowed the museum to decorate accordingly, you could see the grandness of the building with it very high ceilings and columns. I especially loved the Chaos and Awe current showcase. I didn't realize the Chrysler Museum of Art is one of America's most distinguished mid sized art museum with more than 30,000 objects. They have a glass studio showcasing glassblowing, and it also administers historic houses such as the Moses Myers House and the Willoughby Baylor House.

Antoinette Ragland

This art museum was free and had quite a few nice pieces of art to view. They had little play areas for my little one to keep her interested.

Mr. Ross

It's a big place a lot to see. There's a children's section with books to read, a magnetic board and prop house front for a puppet show. There are very interesting peices here.

Jennifer Murphy

So many interesting pieces and artifacts new and old. Great place to spend a day, the glass blowing was also fun to watch.

Venus Kneebush

The Pumpkinpalooza event at the Glass Studio was amazing. I highly recommend doing an event. I also really enjoyed the Egyptian artifacts the museum has on display along with glass sculptures and Tiffany lamps.

Roy Peiser

Beautiful works of art in a beautiful setting. Good for your soul.

Shannon Wedig

Fantastic museum! We went while the Eric Carle exhibit was there. Museum was really catering to the children at the time and the staff was phenomenal! We were visiting from out of state on vacation. We love to find free things to do. Highly recommend and especially with free admission.

Neik Loudon

Very educational. The art is very pretty. They have African art in there, and Egyptian art that is very pretty. This is a great museum that is not far from my neighborhood. We love going there on Saturday's.

Mark Checchia

Excellent update to this great museum. Standing exhibits, supplemented by changing displays. Great kids activities. We had lunch on the patio, nicely done.

Susie Crews

Outstanding! Glass blowing demonstration fabulous.

Ben A

It's free to all. Variety of displays of painting, sculpture and glass. Very nice!

Olsen Family

Kids loved the Eric carle exhibit there until early September 2019

Brendan Pope

This is a great place to go with your friends and family. They have many exhibits to enjoy and a lot are kid-friendly. They are good for class field trips too!! When entering the place you are greeted with this beautiful double spiral staircase that leads to the Juliet balcony. Not only is it dreamy but it leads you to the top floor that is decorated with many different types of paintings and sculptures.

Claudette Hall

This Museum and the Glass Blowing Exhibitions are both free. It's a must do on a visit to Virginia. Because we were driving back to Jersey we were only able to do the first floor. We will definitely go back when we are in Virginia.

Wade Seagrave

It’s free and absolutely worth going to for the glass exhibit alone— I haven’t seen many art museums with such great glassworks that’s accessible to all people brand new to art or experienced art professional.

Greta Frizzell

Medieval to modern-day art. Such a wonderful learning experience. The staff were knowledgeable and readily available for any questions

Ruth Ritchey

Visited the museum for the first time and plan to go again. There was a watercolor exhibit that I wanted to see. I would advise touring with a guide. You would be surprised of all the extra information you'll hear. One place you might want to checkout is the Glass Studio across the street. It's a working studio so you will see items being made.

What a beautiful museum! The glass gallery was amazing and educational. I lived the photography, the Egyptian and African art!!

Can't wait to go back! So much more to see! Plus activities for the kids. If you love history and museums, The Chrysler Museum is a must see. And it's free! Donation boxes are available.

Brenda Johnson

Just wanted to ck it out since I've never been. Unless you just LOVE art, it's pretty boring. The glass blowing demos across the street are interesting, tho.

Ryan Riffle

A beautiful collection of art from many eras. You could spend an entire day just walking around and experiencing everything

Koda Compton

My favorite place to go on a cold or rainy day when there isnt much to do outside! The exhibits change semi frequently so it's always exciting. The only think I'd love to see more of is interactive stuff!

Donna Sutherland

One of my favorites ways to spend an afternoon, and it's free!

Free museum, free parking, what's not to like? The art contained in the Chrysler is everything from ancient times to medieval Renaissance to modern - sometimes placed in a way that you can compare the progression of style and technique from the 1st century B.C.E. to the 21st century.

Kristi Sytsma

There's so much variety here from ancient Egyptian to Renaissance to modern art and sculptures. My 5 year old enjoyed the interactive kids section. I learned alot about glass and porcelain. Lovely garden fountain was the perfect backdrop for our cookies and milk from the cafe after exploring.

Heather Mclewin

Excellent...just don't bring a backpack

Peter Melton

great way to keep busy for a day. Mixture of all types of art that kept me wanting to walk around to see more. The bead art is amazing to take a look at and appreciate the time taken to complete one piece.

Lori Thurman

This place is incredible, and free (somehow). Lots of interesting art from all over the world and human history. Highly recommend.

MRB Banks

Free to visit. Beautiful museum. Beautiful art. I brought my 10 and 6 year olds to get out of the heat. The exhibit this summer 2019 is Eric Carle who wrote The Very Hungry Caterpillar and it is so cool, and so simple. There is also an interactive studio for the kids. Overall, big enough to explore small enough sp it is not too overwhelming. Will be back!

Chandra Tucker

Went for the first time. Was pleasantly surprised at how family friendly it is! We did a scavenger hunt to make it more fun for little kids! Will definitely go back~ soon!

Jacki Flade

Really enjoyed the exhibits. The staff was very helpful and the museum was very well kept. The restaurant had excellent food. Will return for another visit.

Brandon Landers

I cannot believe it is free to visit this Museum. It is very well maintained. Every time I go I feel obligated to donate money . But not because I feel pressured, because of how impressive it is. I love seeing the historic colonial pieces, As well as some of the various sculpture work
