Figured the reviews would be more accurate, but i was wrong. No one to explain except a small home video, nothing to see but "coming soon" signs. The only reason it's not a 1 star is because it's incredibly cheap to get in. Truthfully, may be a good time filler if you're really bored... otherwise, I'd recommend finding something else. Kids were bored.

A small but family friendly dinosaur stop on the way through St George. You can see real casts and traces of Dino foot prints. A reasonable price for a nice experience. Glad they preserved what they found. Friendly staff too.

Serban Dumitrescu

Cool especially if with toddlers.

Tanner Bowman

It's cool but not worth the money to get in.

Maxim Imakaev

This little museum is amazing! You can see real dinosaur footprints, and learn a lot about how they were preserved for so long, discovered, etc. People here are very knowledgeable and will answer any dino related questions you may have.

Dallin Wheeler

Very informative and interesting. Would recommend for children and adults alike.

Joseph Shelton

Lisaroi Larsen

The St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site offers a stunning display of locally found dinosaur tracks and explains their discovery. A wheelchair accessible facility with optional guided tours by well trained guides.

Paul Hutchinson

This museum if much more interesting than i thought it would be based on the web descriptions. In addition yo the very knowledgeable volunteer we were privileged to talk with the paleontologist who was first on site after the discovery. Two thumbs up!

Patrick Lynch

I debated about whether or not this deserved a 3 star, or 4 star, review. I felt the price for what you get was high. I thought it was pretty cool to see footprints of dinosaurs that were frozen in time, but my sons were quickly "done." It's a large room that has an above ground walkway above the area they have uncovered. They do a great job of creating a good area of displays...but for small kids, they only think it's cool for a short time until they start asking "Where are the dinosaurs?" I feel like adults will appreciate this more than small kids. I gave them 4 stars because the staff were great, and the facilites were good for what you get...I just don't feel like it's a 5 star event.

Karen Phillips

Lots of great fossils and dinosaur tracks here. It held the interest of the 7 year olds in our group but not the toddlers for very long. I enjoyed seeing the variety of tracks here.

This is a great little museum that both me and my kids enjoyed a lot. They have a fun scavenger hunt for the kids to do. Definitely take the time to watch the video and read all the signs, it's very fascinating!

Joshua Flores

Was very informative and interactive. You can touch a couple of features there and the staff were very knowledgable. Everything about the discovery site was fascinating and it is great place to bring the kids, as there is an outdoor education and playing area as well as an indoor classroom.

Julia Butler

My husband and I stumbled upon this GEM on our way to Zion National Park. We were amazed at the preservation of these dinosaur tracks and what we could learn from them. Alan was very knowledgeable and made our visit so enriching. It's cool to walk around the exhibit and see a story unfold of the dinosaurs that walked in that very space. We had a blast!

Lehnanne Gibbs Kidd

This was an amazing place to spend some time. The staff was very helpful and informative. The fact that you are standing over an active research find and not some concocted dino park.

Cole Bellon

The Wanderer

You are right on the spot where footprints left by dinosaurs millions of years ago were fossillized and preserved. Some of them even have skin marks. You can see both parts of the footprints, one of them as a real cast of dino's foot.

Joshua Goldberg

St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm is an absolute gem. The field of dinosaur tracks is small enough to be very accessible and easy to see, but full of remarkable detail. It's all real but you don't have to trek into the …

Mike Kennedy

Excellent display of dinosaur tracks where they were discovered. Very interesting for both kids and adults. Previous to this, the only dinosaur tracks we had seen are on the Navajo reservation, but this site has far more than we saw there and this one has other related displays as well. I highly recommend this.

Okay so I was in town working from California and a close friend is a fossil junky. He actually has made me appreciate what was here so long ago. So when I heard about this place I had to go if nothing else to make him jealous

This museum was fascinating. We'd love to come back at a time when archaeologists are actually working on things. The only issue was that my 5 year old lost interest REALLY quickly. There were some fun activities for her to do, but it was hard to really enjoy the rest of the museum as an adult with her being unentertained. I'd definitely come back in a few years when she is older and can understand/appreciate it more, but I also wouldn't recommend someone with small children coming here if you plan on seeing it in-depth.

Donna VanderHeiden

It is a small building but it is packed with information and fossils. The price is extremely reasonable. My family of 2 adults and 2 kids was only $18 total ($6 adults, $3 for kids, 3 and under free). My 4 and 5 year old loved it. It was fascinating watching them actually work on uncovering fossils. Great little stop. If you have the time, stop by!

Will A

Every time my family passes through St. George we always stop at this museum. It is really fun and my kids love it. There have been some new excavations going on and there are new murals being painted that will be a great addition. The staff is always really friendly and love to tell you facts about the fossils and you can tell they love they love their jobs.

Steve C

This is a great little gem. It was a great place to stop on our cross country road trip. There's lots of displays and some exhibits you can touch. Plenty to see and the staff working were very friendly. There's a nice gift shop too and you can even see people working on the fossils.

Sammy Lackner

Kent Hunt

We brought some friends from Germany here and it was great. Well worth a visit.

Very interesting.

This small museum is spectacular! We first happened upon this site months after the first tracks had been discovered and displayed beneath canopies! I’d hoped for years they’d raise enough funds to establish a permanent home. They did and we finally returned in 2016 with our 4 year old who was and still is a paleontology enthusiast! We’re also planning to include this stop on our Utah paleontology tour next spring! What I love about the Discovery Site is that unlike other museums their specimens are like the actions of ancient life forms fossilized in time. The entrance fees are so inexpensive considering the uniquely incredible experience and education you’ll get from visiting!

carlos orellana

Awesome place , great for families very affordable!!!

Michelle Harshberger

One of the best dinosaur museums we've been too. Hands down. An absolute must for the whole family. Especially dinosaur fans. Beautiful art, great gift shop, and 2 kids aread, inside and out. Extremely knowledgable staff. 3 min off the hwy. Definitely coming back. What a great find for $6!!!

Sylvain Pastor

Amazing site. Definitely worth an hour of your time if you happen to be in St George

Aaron Walker

Not much to see. The kids were done with it in 20 minutes.

Carol Clapp

Three years ago we visited. Our then 5 yr old had his own interpreter who was informative, friendly and helpful. I was so impressed that I bought a membership, knowing we wouldn't be back that year. Three years later the eight year old and his 4 year old brother, his Mommy and Grammie are driving back from California and on our way back to visit again. The staff is wonderful and there is so much to learn and do. Excellent!

zichang wang

too small for six buvks pet adult. only few pieces of real fossils (they do have lots of rock blocks of footprints).

John Parsons

Interesting story. Cool to see some real tracks. Decently fun for kids. 3 and under free, $3 for kids, $6 for adult.

JOSE LUIS ZAVALA

Totally recomend to bring your kids here, its a small place but full of knowledgeand very helpful and professional staff.

Ken Nelson

This was interesting to me, as an adult. But for the 5 year old, well it was the gift shop. So I'd caution about bringing kids that are too young here. It can be fascinating for the informed but not so interesting for the uninformed or too young. I'm glad it's here. I'll go here about once a year to see what's new. Just be aware that while kids may like the concept of dinosaurs, tracks don't quite enthrall them as much.

Tom Mason

The signs on I-15 do not do this place justice! This is an incredibly interesting museum. It's small but very well done. There are hundreds of dinosaur tracks to be viewed. We've been to lots of dinosaur museums but never one like this.

Martha Manske

Really cool. Think it was about a $6 fee. Video before you walk through the museum but my kids couldn't sit through it. Lots of fossils. There was someone working behind the glass so the kids could watch how they restore the fossils. They also have kids play areas inside and outside. Gift shop and of course clean bathrooms.

Derek

I love this place. Very educational and fun for people of all ages.

Trent Day

Small, but fun area full of history and trivia about dinosaurs and other animals that lived here. They provide a scanner hunt of items and facts with a small prize for all who complete it. Good for all ages.

MICHELLE BURNS

I was excited to see an actual dig site. The only thing that could have made the experience better is if there had been workers in the pit. There were none on the day we visited. They have a window so people can watch work taking place in the lab. That was nice. The place is smaller than expected but packed with things to see and read, and the price is affordable. In my opinion, a must see for dinosaur enthusiast.

Taurus

Fun place for older kids, but not great for littler ones. I thought they would have dinosaurs statues, but it pretty much was just their tracks and that’s it. Still fun, just would recommend for older kids and adults.

Mitchell Williams

Our second time to visit, wonderful each time. My kids learned so much with the activities.

Lindoneide Flowers

Nes Garcia

Good place to learn about the dinosaurs that lived in the area!

JoLin Hogge

this was an awesome stop to learn so much about the tracks that were found

mtv1 Geo

very disappointing ... mud tracks only... no dinosaurs .... 10-15 min to go through entire place

Jered Shaw

Really an interesting place to take the kids on our vacation. Really glad we stopped.

Heather Lorenz

I remember the Dino site before it had a nice building. My kids, adults now, still love to look at dinosaur digs and fossils. The new building is awesome and full of information. The staff are knowledgeable. Whenever I visit St. George this is always a stopping place for me.

KEN BURNS

Cool place. Kind of hard to grasp that dinosaurs were running around 250 million years ago. To bad the human race wont make it 10000 years. Just strange. I really think we are all part of a dream.

Deep Singh

Super cool place that was built literally on top of the excavation site!!!

marsha vanetsky

Excellent. Thought this was going to be kitchy, not at all. It was an excellent exhibit with so much to learn. The two docents were amazingly knowledgeable. Great for all ages.

R Griffin III

This was an incredibly cool place. Watching the short intro movie and reading the plaques showing where to look and the information was very interesting. My wife and I found everything as interesting and cool as our son did. He was so excited about the whole experience and he is still talking all about it. I recommend that if you are in the area that you make some time to check this place out.

Susan Ward

Such a unique experience! Loved it!

Timothy Metcalf

Pretty cool place! Half of it was under construction at the time so it was difficult to really see everything but it's pretty fun for kids that are interested in dinosaurs.

stan stevens

We thought this place was great. Presentation was great. I would go again.

Dustin Wax

This is a great attraction just a few minutes off the freeway. The museum is built over and around a live archeological site, where tracks from hundreds of dinosaurs are preserved. 200 million years of history is on display, with great signage throughout and super friendly volunteers on hand to explain anything you can think to ask. Highly recommended for kids, but anyone can appreciate the importance and excitement of scientific discovery in progress.

Jerry Penrod

Sue M

Extremely interesting.

Addison Kanoelani

Really cool place and a lot to learn. You can tell it’s kind of geared towards kids, but it’s still really interesting and educational as an adult. Staff are friendly. And I loved the gift shop. Prices weren’t as bad I’d expect. If you’re looking for something kill time and learn some interesting facts about this place’s history, I’d recommend you stop by. And if you do have kids they’ll love it too.

David Beauchamp

Great place to see fossilized dino prints and other great information from an active dig site. I would recommend this as a stop for anyone travelling through. The only issue we had is the one of the employees that worked at the museum. We were asked if we could sign in, and asked us where we were from. We mentioned we were from California, and another older woman replied "well finish up and go home". I didnt think much of it. Perhaps someone else might find it quite insulting.

Debbie Blodgett

Interesting. Could have tracks marked a little clearer

Hung-Shin Huang

門票太貴,紀念品沒有什麼可買,可看性不高!

Josh Ashdown

This place was okay. The dinosaur tracks were neat, but there wasn't too much else. I live near a very large dinosaur park and maybe my comparison between the two is unfair. I still consider this place worth a visit. Any adult or child who …

Desmond Hui

Personally visited some Dinosaur footprint sites in Bolivia and Mongolia before. Despite this site is a bit small, it has a lot of footprint and interesting collections, and comparable with big ones at elsewhere. Entrance fee is very affordable. Good to bring kids to come.

2FX GUYS

Cool experience, very educational, and friendly staff... unless your kids try to climb on stuff then they get yelled at. The tours are run by volunteers and their schedualing is spotty at best. If you aren't REALLY into dinosaurs or self guided tours, this isn't the place for you. Also, small kids under 5 should stay away as the temptation to climb on the rocks, er exhibits is too great and the barriers are a joke. Imo fixing the barriers to keep small kids out should be a top priority.

Rodrigo Mendez

Nice place to rest and check out some footprints!

William Olsen

Informative and educational. Explains how the tracks were made and preserved and the scientific process for discovering and learning from them. The kids scavenger hunt made it fun for the kids and kept them engaged.

Andrea Jensen

Amazing!! There was a very knowledgeable volunteer who explained everything to us. The kids loved it!! We will be back.

Eric Roberts

We are from St George but never visited the Dino tracks. We took are 9 year old kids and really enjoyed it. We really like dinos and overall the tracks exceeded my expectations.

Andrew Boes

Great natural history museum.

Virginia Mott

This is place is amazing. The biggest collection of dino footprints I have ever seen. And what makes it more interesting is the meuseam is built on top of the origional site. Maybe not the best for super young children (under 6), but if you do have kids, ask the staff for activities. The staff are volunteers who are super passionate. This is a great stopping site if you are roadtripping out of Vegas and need a break. And it's a cheap visit - $6.

Luigi Gonzalez

Great place in town for the little ones to have fun and learn

Ryan Thomas

Cameron Lloyd

If you dont want to walk a lot and all you want to see are tracks then it's great. It's all in one room. If you want to see complete dinosaurs you will not find them here. We thought it was very overpriced for what you get. Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, MT is 1000x better.

Brady Santoro

Interesting museum built around and over the remains of some dinosaurs, and the tracks of multiple dinosaurs, which still can be seen. There are indoor and outdoor classrooms, lots of hands-on displays, and is entertaining for persons of all ages.

Chauntelle Lewis

So fun for kids to learn about dinosaurs!

Tylerandsummer Smith

$6 seems a little steep for 3 minutes worth of exhibits (10 if you include the 7-minute intro video). Wasn't fun for my young kids, but the sandbox outside did keep them busy. Would not recommend for kids under 8 unless they are really into fossiles (not dinosaurs, dino bone fragments and foot prints).

David Merrell

Definitely run on a very tight budget, but doing great with what they have. Highly recommend taking time to stop.

Barry Lambson

Fascinating! It's really awesome to see the prints and scrapings they found preserved in an ancient river bed. Comparing your hand to the giant claws takes your breath away. There are lots of student volunteers working there as well. Just a cool place.

Nigel Feasey

Really enjoyed visiting this museum built around a site of dinosaur tracks. The tracks are really well preserved, the presentation is extremely good and very factual. Their displays comparing the bone structure of dinosaurs to modern birds and how that led to insights on how dinosaurs walked was truly fascinating. The staff are friendly and really recommend visiting this museum on the way to Zion.

Jonathan Oaklyn

Has some neat stuff but its pretty meager overall. Not many dinosaur bones, mostly just tracks. A few tracks seem very distinct, most are very difficult to identify. Might be a bit overpriced, but the paleontology and discoveries are worth supporting

Kristen Meryhew

Such a cool museum for adults and older children. My 1 and 3 year old were done within a few minutes. Luckily they had the classroom/play area for my kids to play in with my husband while I finished the exhibits. It is a really cool place!

Darryl Barnes

This place is really neat. I love dinosaurs, and was hesitant when we pulled up and saw how small the building is. It really is small, but it's packed full of cool exhibits and TONS of tracks. We stopped and read every sign and every description along the way. I didn't think the tracks were going to be that cool, but the museum staff has done a great job laying out their displays to make them fun with maps and layouts of the exhibits so you can try and spot the tracks! Really informative, educational, and entertaining. I actually wished for a minute I had kids to bring with me, because that would be SO FUN! I wish it was a little bigger to be honest, but I feel it's worth the $6 adult entry.

剣一牧本

Good place, but beware of unscientific statements regarding climate change in outdoor concourse. There are at least two info plaques that claim that the climate change we're currently experiencing is not caused by humans, which a) is irrelevant to the study of dinosaurs and b) contradicts the scientific consensus on this. The indoor part is well done and the tracks are fascinating to see. There's also a nice gift shop.

Laura C Lin

Cool but many maps didn't match with each other. We were confused on the timelines.

Awesome eye opening experience! Don't pass up this hidden gem if you happen to be passing through Saint George..You won't regret it, especially because the price for admission is VERY affordable!

jophus Xakc

I'd probably give it a 3.5 rating. Fun place, but the prices were a little steep and there are more involved museums in Utah. Of course, I might be spoiled because of the dinosaur artifacts in the state, but it still is a fun place to stop. Kids went through it pretty quick, so I don't think I'd call it a destination, but if you're in the area and looking for something to do, especially when you're craving AC, check it out.

travis higley

If you haven't been here before this place can be really cool. If it's a return trip there is not much new and it can be quite boring. It's a good place to bring visiting family and friends, and the kids certainly enjoy themselves.easy access, and not usually too busy.

Cherise Hayes

Very interesting place!

Jarad Brinkerhoff

We went there as a family event. It was really interesting to see all of the dinosaur tracks that they have the museum. Some of the tracks look like they are still in the mud. That's how cool the tracks are.

Jessica Skinner

Fun detour - friendly staff - and dinosaurs = Winner!

SIENNA GARWOOD

looks so fun

ChristiF Inactive

absolutely amazing everyone should stop here!

Alexandra Holdeman

This is an amazing place with lots of information and a variety of fossils. It's amazing how it was discovered and how the city has emphasized around it and still continues to dig for more tracks. Mostly definitely a to see when traveling in St Gerorge.

Working Professional

This place is a rip-off. With $8/adult and $4/kids they only show foot prints. Considering that this is steps away from North America's largest fossil deposit - Escalante National Monument this IS NOTHING BUT A TEASE!

Melissa Sperry

This place is kinda fun for your first time. Smaller kids will be pretty board. Not much changes. It would be nice if there where more dinosaurs. Outside discovery area was not maintained very well. Its good to see and explore at least once.

Ken Horkavy

Exceptional hands on museum with live work on anchient rocks you can see!! Once in a lifetime for the dino lover. They need to work on welcoming people, not making them uncomfortable at the door and rushing them into a sit down film.

Matthias Whitmore

Dinosaur museum st. George

Camille Spendlove

The staff was very nice and the museum was done very nicely but I would emphasize that it is just a small museum. After reading the description online I thought there would be more activities for the kids to participate in. Unfortunately it was very lacking in activities. We spent less then an hour and didn’t feel like there was enough to do here to justify the price. The dig area for the kids was probably only about 4ft by 4 ft and was just a sand box full of broken shovels and brushes with a few things dinosaur things bolted to the bottom. The only other activities were a small coloring area and a few dinosaur toys in the education room. If you’re a dinosaur enthusiast who is not trying to entertain kids it might be something you would enjoy but unfortunately we wouldn’t pay the admission price to visit again.

Dave Huggard

Not much to do and expensive for what it is. $8 to see a few tracks seems pretty steep. Not much else to do and kids get bored after 5 min. Would rate a bit higher if it didn't cost so much. Don't really see a reason to ever go back.

Paul McFall

Very interesting site. Amazing to walk amongst the actual dinosaur tracks.

Brandon Ethington

Good not great. Lots of dino tracks and trace fossils.

Kathleen Penne

Fascinating insides into the pre-Jurassic periods’ animals. Glad it was saved for posterity.

Nova Wahl

While it’s interesting to see some of the best preserved Dino footprints in the world, the overall museum experience was lacking. After visiting several other Dino museums in Utah and Colorado, I had high expectations of fun interactive activities and more interesting exhibits. This museum lacked those things. However, I think this museum has great potential to become something more in the future.

Kelly Beamsley

A great little stop to enjoy some dino knowledge about the area

Brook Price

Johnson's Farm is an historic gem! One of my students (Michael) who came from Scotland was passionate about history and archaeology in general. Michael was given the rare opportunity to intern at the Dinosaur Discovery Site while he was at Forte Strong. Rusty (the museum director) was amazing! She had him trained and soon let him get his feet wet by allowing him to guide some of the museum tours. Michael absolutely loved this opportunity. In fact, he loved it so much that both the museum and Forte Strong collaborated together to create a video about his experience.

Amazing. Stopped by after we left Zion on the way back to California. Nothing close to what we have in Los Angeles. Great experience. Loved it.

This is an amazing little dinosaur museum with lots of cool artifacts. This place is great for kids and dinosaur enthusiasts alike. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone stopping in St George. I also found the Doctor Who Police Call Box on one of the paintings very amusing. What a wonderful place.

Peter Roth

We took the drive from Vegas and we're glad we did. Very educational and impressive.

Maren Knudson

It may be small but it was very informative and they have very helpful and nice staff. Worth the visit.

Jawny Bonez

Lots to see. Kids will love it.

Kristalyn Tanner

JaLessa was extremely informative and a huge help to our group. The gift shop had some great prices on items. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Christina T.

Utah is the land of dinosaur fossils/tracks! The husband and I love dinosaurs and couldn't be happier that there was a museum devoted to them just a few miles from our house. We visited on an early Sunday morning before it got crowded, and we enjoyed walking around looking at the displays. There was also a window where you can look in at the work they are doing with different fossils/tracks that need to be cleaned and restored. The museum was small but very well organized, and there were plenty of signs everywhere. Great place to bring your kids for an educational field trip!

cody howell

Small, but fun. Mostly tracks with a few fossils.

Janette Hill

Excellent visit!

Carol Martinez

I love this place since I was living there about 15 years ago when these discoveries were just beginning and everything was outdoors without a roof and you did not have to pay anything the cost was voluntary. Now I am happy to see how yours have progressed in the discoveries and that it is already a great and very beautiful museum so that we can all enjoy this unique jewels in terms of discovery in ancient animals that existed in this world. Many Congratulations and I hope one day to return to St George to enjoy this beautiful place with my children!!!

It is a good location to visit with children under 12. Any others might get a little bored but still interesting.

Cheri Primm

Ok for a quick stop and to get out of the heat with kids. The staff was great and knowledgeable, however the museum itself was pretty small. Ok if you need to kill 40 minutes or so, but not a lot of variety.

Jailyn Winn

This place is pretty cool but I felt it was a little more expensive than it needed to be for what it offered overall.
