As we were walking in, I expected to only be around for 30 minutes because it didn’t look very big. I was way wrong! This place has things to look at on all 3 floors. It was very different but also unique. Fun place to go if you like history.

Jenny Morgan

Great musuem with a variety of things to look at. They switch out 2 room exhibits about every three months. The other rooms are standard and have older fashion, western things, the development of writing and the telephone, and a room of war memorabilia. Our guide was very friendly and we enjoyed the tour. The building is cooled by a swamp cooler but the exhibit rooms don't get that cool air so it was a little toasty.

Dave Wilkinson

This place is packed full of cool stuff. It’s completely run by volunteers and operates solely on donations, so clearly they are doing their best. Anyone who has anything bad to say about this place can suck an egg. Just go check it out with an open mind and a smile on your face.

Rachel Lisonbee

It's wonderful to visit!

Derek Wilson

Free, so the price is right. The museum is somewhat of paying

My step mom had a stand at the Boutique that was healed there and she paid for her spot and the costomers where too busy looking at the museum instead of the product. They should have closed the museum part of the building while the boutique was taking place

Justin Hughes

Joshua Jones

I have only been to one event that happened in one room. It was great to be able to go to the event. Glad they allow events to happen in certain rooms.

Love this venue

The staff made the mistake of assuming that young children could not find history interesting. One lady took it upon herself to lecture me repeatedly about how children don't belong in museums. This is despite the fact that my children were well behaved, listened and were attentive whenever this guide bothered speaking to them and showing them artifacts. They came away talking about what they had seen and learned from those few occasions. However, she kept saying "come back when you're older " and "museums aren't for kids" at least ten times. Ironically, as we were leaving she called my attention to the KIDDIE POOL holding toy rubber ducks (worth 50 cents) and tried to get me to pay $5 per duck to give to my kids to support the museum. There is plenty of value to learn in this museum. Even for kids. But if the staff is unwilling to make an effort to appeal to younger generations (other than to gouge their parents) then I'm not going to spend any money to try to save a lost cause.

Peteetneet is a wonderful gem in our community. The building is gorgeous, the grounds are lovely, the volunteers are friendly. Peteetneet is a great representation of Payson, it's been here forever, but it offers new and beautiful things for visitors every day.

Laura Holland

I just took my kids here and we all loved it. My boys were especially fond of the cowboy room where they have extensive history of Payson's incredible cowboy history. Plus, there are tons of awesome events. We will be back!

One of the most recognized buildings in Payson is the Peteetneet Academy, a Romanesque elementary school erected in 1901, and one of the first schools in Utah outside of Salt Lake City. When it was abandoned by the school district in 1988, citizens rallied to restore the landmark to productive use within the community. Today the facility is used as a cultural arts center and local history museum, and is a gateway interpretive center for the Mount Nebo Scenic Byway. Highlights include a historic schoolroom, blacksmith shop, complete Victorian home, and lessons in horse care in a cowboy room. A walking tour of Old Fort Payson, Old Fort Peteetneet, and Historic Payson features the school and other local landmarks.

Megan Perkins

Went for a good friends wedding reception. Beautifully taken care of historic building. Very small for a reception and upstairs gets warm really quick with no AC but the park outside is beautiful and the historic items were interesting to browse.

Helen Beardall

My mother went to school here; wben I saw this building I fill in Love it and that was before I saw the inside. How beautiful it is; I am so greatful it is still standing today.

S Jones

It appears to be a good place to buy drugs and kidnap kids.... Maybe Payson police will do something about now

Richard Hemmer

Kathryn Carter

Calm & quaint. Interesting historical architecture. Different interest highlight about once a month. Lovely rolling grass hills. Very friendly staff. Nice flower gardens about the property. The building has been well maintained & is kept clean.
